Maybelline Beauty Editors’ Meet

I was invited to the Maybelline New York Beauty Editor’s Meet today at Olive Bar and Kitchen. There were editors of various fashion magazines, members of their Beauty Brigade and the whole Maybelline India staff. They talked about the history of Brand Maybelline and how vaseline and coal was mixed to be used as a mascara by T L Williams for her sister Maybel..and the combination of Maybel and Vaseline gave rise to the name Maybelline and the first cake mascara was brought up.

Then they had a presentation covering the facts of Indian makeup industry and how girls are now getting more into makeup from a basic compact and kajal to colored eye pencils, eye shadows, blushes and nail art, etc

And how they introduced Maybelline Colossal Kajal especially for the Indian market seeing the huge demand for kajal or khol in India..the color changing lip balm Color Bloom in pink and peach and the new Colorsensational Fruit Jellies.

They also talked about their new makeup expert Namrata Soni and the Plumtastic 2011 collection designed by her…which includes colors ranging from deep wines to berries to plums. Esha Gupta is their new Brand Ambassador and Namrata did an evening look using the Plumtastic collection on her.

Then the presentation ended and we had a chance to get nail art done at the Nail Bar or get a makeover done or get funky pictures clicked with some funny accessories like huge glasses and stuff or consult Namrata Soni. I had a chance to talk to Namrata Soni..she is such a down to earth and nice person…she was sitting and chatting almost 15-20 minutes sharing some tips and tricks and giving some suggestions. I just loved talking to her :))

At the end we also got some Maybelline goodies (I already have few of them..so you can expect some in the next giveaway 🙂 ) and a Swarovski butterfly pendant which is super cute..

Quite a nice event hosted by Maybelline..I also met Riddhi and Bhumika S..:)
