L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa comes in two variants: Deep Nourishing and a Detox range. This Deep Nourishing range has Water Lily extracts and is meant for dry hair and the Detox one is infused with tea tree oil for people with oily scalp and dandruff issues.
I have been using this L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa Deep Nourishing Range since 3 weeks now. I had a lot of expectations from this range after trying out and falling in love with the Absolut Repair Lipidium Range.
I love the bright blue packaging with the grey cap, it is very nice to look at and you can find out your shampoo from the lot in the bathroom :p The shampoo has a flip cap packaging and comes in this long, slender bottle and the conditioner comes in a tube packaging with a screw cap.
The shampoo is off white in color and runny in form, the conditioner is white and thicker. Both smell very refreshing, very close to soft, floral, water lily. A mix of aquatic and floral, I love the smell!
The shampoo foams really well and gets rid of all the oil and dirt in the hair within one wash. Quite impressed here. The hair is completely clean in one wash. If you have oily scalp, you will really like this. Even though this range is meant for dry skin, it is not heavy and creamy kind but very light.
The conditioner is hydrating but not very heavy,it won’t weigh down your hair. It is not the most hydrating conditioner out there, but does a decent job for someone with normal to dry hair, and would work perfectly for oily hair too. If you have very dry hair or prefer a heavy conditioner, then you would need something extra.
Hair remains soft, smooth and frizz free with this range for 2 days untill you wash next. There is no oiliness and no dryness. If you have drier ends, you will need to use a serum on the ends. Even though its meant for dry hair, it is not the deep hydrating kind, and that makes this range perfect for summers.
Price wise, they are decently priced and quite economical for the quantity. The bottles are huge and not travel friendly though. Also, the availability of the Professionnel range is an issue, and is only available on selected online sites or in salons.
Only downside is it has SLS and silicones, also I see ‘Mineral Oil’ 3rd in the Ingredients list in the Conditioner which I am not too pleased with.
Overall, I would say this range is good for summers and would work for all kinds of hair from oily to dry. It cleanses the scalp well and leaves the hair soft, smooth and frizz free. It is mild enough for everyday use too. If you have very dry hair, I would recommend the L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Lipidium Range. I would prefer using this range for summers and the Absolut Range for winters. If you have chemically treated or colored hair, I wouldn’t advise using this as it has SLS.
