Get the Best Household Service Experts from UrbanClap

Hi guys,

Today I am talking about one of the household service experts provider UrbanClap, I know there are many out there in the market currently. And also specifically for different sectors like alone for women’s salon services.

As far as the different local services providers I have tried, I can say UrbanClap comes with quality. I have tried their home salon services 1-2 times earlier.

What surprises me is the number of services they have, everything from Wedding Planning to Birthday Party Planning, Fitness, Salon Services, CA Services, Interior Designers, House Cleaning, Repairs,etc. You name it and they have it.

I wish Urbanclap was launched when I got married, booking a mehendi artist, wedding photographer is all super easy now thanks to an app like this. And not only app, even the website is very user friendly, for people who still prefer things the traditional way.

For any service you select, they ask you a few question to shortlist a particular sub-category and then they give you three options: Budget, Experienced and Premium i.e. increasing prices and then it asks for your location and personal details and you can get quotes from various different service providers.

You have the option of whether or not you want to share your phone number with the service providers, in case you do not want to, they can only contact you via the app. I like the fact that they have maintained privacy here.

Also love the fact that you get different budget options and a lot of different service providers within that budget. You can ask for their previous work and also check their ratings on the site/app and then decide which one you would like to go with. Service providers give you the best quote as they are competing with other service providers. So ultimately we get the best price and benefit from it.

I am keen on trying the Health & Wellness category next and would surely update you on how my experience goes 🙂

Overall, I quite like the ease of use of Urbanclap and how convenient it has made to reach the service providers by bridging the gap between service providers and us customers.

Urbanclap is currently present in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. Also they provide a vast range of 90+ services. They are also available on Android and iOS.

UrbanClap: Local Service Professionals at Clap of your Hands

These days we have 1-2 new apps coming up every other day, so what makes an app different and are all the apps in the market actually helpful? Nah! But one app I came across in December is actually very helpful! One of my friend works full time, both the husband and wife work whole day on weekdays and they only get weekends to chill or go out, her major concern always was cleaning and the home stuff. I was at her place last to last month and she told me she calls for whatever services she needs on this new app ‘Urbanclap’. One Sunday it is bathroom cleaning, and one Sunday it is sofa cleaning, she even calls for the beauty services she needs, she need not go to a salon or take an appointment, etc., her life is sorted!

I thought that’s an amazing idea, I downloaded the app to see how exactly it works. Last month before my Jaipur trip, I did not have the time to go to a salon and I called for beauty services at home on the Urbanclap app. If you follow me on twitter, you must have read a mini review of the services too. They have Rs.300/- off over services of Rs.800/- offer going on, they keep having offers, so watch out for that.

The app is super easy to use, understand and navigate. Select the service you need from the list of services, it catches your location and lets you know the fixed prices for blue collared jobs, or asks for your exact requirements from the options available for white collared jobs and the service providers send you a quote. You have three different price options too according to your budget. You have the option of the service providers calling you or you calling them, the latter is always safer and better unless you wish to be bombarded by calls whole day! You can even directly pay on the app for the blue collared services with fixed prices.

All the blue collared services have fixed pricing per hour which is around Rs.199/- Currently I am looking for a plumber for some minor work and all local plumbers tell me they will charge Rs.500/- for visiting even if 5 minutes job! Thank goodness for apps like this for saving us from being exploited.

I was looking for a yoga trainer at home for my back issue, and I chose that service and the ‘home’ option and my budget. These are the quotes and providers I got already within 5 minutes.

Things I did not like and which could improve, even after selecting the lower budget option here i.e. below Rs.3500/-, I got contacted by all providers giving a quote of Rs.4000 to 6000. Only the providers who give services within the mentioned budget should be able to give a quote or contact the buyer, coz it’s a waste of time.

I think Urbanclap is a huge help for working couples who hardly get time to get home stuff sorted, and even otherwise for families when you cannot find local services easily, now you can with just a touch on your phone! Apps like these sort your life, it has already received three rounds of funding and much deserved.

As you can see above, there are categories like Popular (most sold), Food & Drink, Staples & Spices, Fruits & Vegetables, Breakfast & Dairy, Bath & Body, etc. And then there are sub categories like Flour, Oil & Ghee, Rice, Salt & Sugar, etc. within Staples & Spices.

They list all brands and types of flour available with the price, quantity, discount, etc for each item. This was so convenient coz I have spent a lot of time on other apps using the ‘Search’ option as it was not bifurcated that well.

 

They have some items like broccoli, babycorn, mushrooms, etc. but still don’t stock red cabbage, olives, etc. I hope they add more products to their kitty.

They have free shipping above Rs.250/-, below which they have shipping charges of Rs.50/-

On checkout, you get two options for Delivery Time and Payment Type. If you want the order to be delivered ‘NOW’ i.e. in 2 hours or a later time where you select a time slot. And Payment Type, whether Cash on Delivery or Paying Online.

I definitely suggest you guys try the Peppertap app. And you get your order delivered in just 2 hours which is the best part, because even when you go out to buy stuff, picking up stuff, standing in queue to pay and returning back carrying all those heavy bags will take you 2 hours or perhaps more!

Coming back to my review, I tried the app on myself of course :p

Here I have tried the foundation and the concealer, the concealer looks a little yellow. So, the brightness of the pic, the phone,the camera are certain factors that we will need to keep in mind and that varies a lot on different images.

My phone is usually the brightest, so I had to tone down the intensity of colored makeup products. Also, the way you set your eyes and lips will not be 100% accurate, so do not be frightened if you look like a clown in between 😀 Just re-adjust the eyes and lips to as close as you can, and tone down the intensity of the blush,eyeshadows and lipsticks.

I tried the peach blush, eyeshadow and lipstick here..

You can try and check the ‘Before’ and ‘After’ which will come up half and half on your face,save it, share it. Check the list of products used and either take a note of shades or buy directly on the app.

There are a lot of new ‘Pro Stylist’ Looks and many of Shraddha Kapoor’s new looks from ABCD and a few of Kareena Kapoor’ s looks from new collection launches at LFW, so if you want need a particular shade which Kareena or Shraddha wore, just check the makeup breakdown, maybe try the particular shade on yourself and click ‘Buy’ and get it delivered at your home! Life was never that simple, right? 😀

I think this app is a must try, atleast you can experiment a lot of different looks and shades on yourself and check what shades look good on you.

A selfie of an obnoxiously weird 30 something man wearing a bright red shirt with denims comes up on Shruti’s phone. He got dumped with a cancel button within a split of a second. My best friend is on “Vee”, a smartphone speed dating app which has crossed 150,000 downloads within few months and is a rage amongst my friends.

I have happily coupled up, so now my favourite pastime is helping my single girlfriends swipe through the reams of desirable, and not so desirable, potential dates. I cannot escape it. It is addictive.

It goes like this; No; No; No; Yes; Yes to him too; No; Yes :p
Our group of girls has started digesting a lot of profiles on night outs, get-togethers and every moment of free time out there. Oh, the feeling of having multiple admirers out there. 🙂

It is also quite an entertainer. There was this one guy who described himself as, “75% Narendra Modi and 25% Arvind Kejriwal.” God only knows what that means. Another one said “I am not here to be changed, don’t bother to change me.” We didn’t.

It has a great chat interface, similar to that of common mobile chatting apps.

Safety

The primary requirement of a dating app in India would be only one: Make it safe for girls to be on it without being stalked or harassed. Vee fulfils this critical requirement. How?

a) You can choose to be invisible. So, guys can only see your profile if you have liked/accepted theirs.
b) Even after liking their profile, you can choose to hide information about yourself from others

I like the fact that it has so many features and even includes voice messages and video calling..I did try out voice messaging and it was super easy to use..Look Around Feature lists all the people online on WeChat around along with the distance..now the list goes on in hundreds..and just by logging in, random people start messaging..I would prefer something like allowing the person to message or accept a request kind and not that anyone can message you anytime randomly..Shake feature shows up people who are shaking their cell also at the same time..this did sound fun..but there was just one person and that too from Japan that showed up on the list :/

Group Chat

Compared to Whatsapp, it sends texts a little slower…but then it has added features of voice chats and video calling, fun emoticons and sharing..

If it overcomes these few shortcomings, I guess it can be one of the most widely used apps too..
