Since summer is round the corner, i thought of coming up with something summery. Well, i just love summers. Winters are not my best friend because you have to wear so many clothes in summers and you have to stay all day inside. Winters are quite boring and short. Whereas in summers you get the complete day to yourself. Anyways, let’s not drift away from the topic of summer essentials. Since all the seasons have some or the other staples. So, what’s your staple in summers? Well, for me sunscreen. But i have heard that many people treat perfumes or do as their staple in summer. Well, i am not a perfume girl and so i use perfume too less. But i have heard half of the world going gaga over this perfume. So, i thought of let’s try it out. And thus here follows my review.

Layer’r Wottagirl Secret Crush Body Splash Review, Body Splash for Women in India

Price : Rs. 195 for 135 ml. (BUY HERE)

Directions to use : Press the nozzle at the top and the splash will dispense out of the hole. Now, spray it on your underarms , handkerchiefs and any other place you like.

Ingredients : Ethyl alcohol (extra neutral alcohol), diethyl phthalate, aqua perfume, PEG 40, propylene glycol, ethylhexyl methocinnamate,  ethylhexyl salicilate, BHT , triclosan, CI 45430

What it claims :
Layerr brings you Wottagirl fragrant body splashes; fragrances that will leave you feeling fresh and smelling beautiful.A seductive fusion of ripe oranges and lemons, enveloped in the classic floral sweetness of jasmine.

My experience with Layer’r Wottagirl Secret crush Body Splash

Firstly, let’s talk about the packaging. it comes in really fancy and classy packaging. it is a big glass bottle which is transparent and has attractive designs going on in the body. the product name and other details are on the bottle. the bottle similar to other perfumes has a nozzle like opening which needs to be pressed a bit to bring the perfume out.

The perfume is gaseous in nature which is of course transparent. You cannot see it but just smell it. i remember Layer’r Wottagirl launched some more scents this time. All were quite distinct from one another and yet so good. This one is more like a feminine one and is very classy. It is not at all a troubling smell and stays on for quite long.

If you know I have running an Instagram contest for this new Virgin Mojito Range from The Body Shop, I also got a chance to try a few products from this new range and here is my review on it.

The Body Shop Virgin Mojito Body Scrub

Ingredients:

MRP: Rs.1295/- for 250ml

It comes in the same plastic jar as the Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub and has the same gel like texture and consistency with white and green fine granules. I already love the Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub and loving this too, this one smells more refreshing and exactly like Mojito! It leaves the skin gently exfoliated and soft without any greasiness or heaviness.

This is the first time The Body Shop has come up with a Body Splash, I think it is launched in place of the Body Mist. It is a thin, runny water like liquid which you just need to rub all over your body after a bath or after using the body butter. It evaporates quickly leaving behing a nice whiff of lime and mint. Again very, very refreshing. Only con would be it doesn’t stay that long on it’s own and over the body butter, it stays for like 3-4 hours. I would have loved if it stayed longer for at least 5-6 hours.

As I had mentioned in my previous Fuji Green Tea Range Review, that I am not a fan of The Body Shop Body Butters and I prefer the Body Lotions as my skin is not very dry and I do not like rich and heavy creams except in extreme winters which is rare in a humid city like Mumbai.

I was expecting this to be of the same formulation as the Fuji Green Tea Body Butter but this one was very rich and heavy. I compared the ingredients of both and I found that the Fuji Green Tea Body Butter only had soybean oil and shea butter as the rich ingredients whereas this Virgin Mojito Body Butter contains cocoa butter, shea butter, beeswax, soybean oil and sesame oil as the rich ingredients and that makes it very heavy.

I would be using this Virgin Mojito Body Butter only in the 2 months of Mumbai winters, but otherwise I still prefer the Fuji Green Tea one coz it is very light and non greasy. If you are someone who has very dry skin, the Virgin Mojito Body Butter is perfect for you! It is very moisturizing and hydrating. Also for someone who feels itchiness due to dry skin or is developing stretch marks, this one will give your skin the much needed moisture.

Overall I would say this range is very, very refreshing coz of the fresh lime and mint. It would have been amazing if this range would have been launched in the summers. I love the Body Scrub and the new Body Splash too, the Body Butter is slightly rich for me but when everything is used together, the smell stays on much longer.

This month’s packaging is different, the theme is ‘India Mon Amour‘ (which means ‘India My Love’ in French) and all the products are natural, herbal and organic. It is an oxblood red box with golden design on top depicting ancient India figures. August box is all about skin care and fragrance this month and something for the eyes.

Also coming to the products, I love everything in this box. The Hedonista Frozen Ittar is all natural and organic made with coconut oil and pure ittar. It is so convenient to carry and comes in this small jar. You need just a teeny weeny bit and the smell lasts for 7-8 hours minimum!!

I have got 2-3 small pimples and it is actually the perfect time to try out this Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask. It is in powder form and you can mix it with rose water or normal water and just apply it and wash off. I can’t wait to try this, have liked Suganda products untill now.

I wanted to try the Forest Essentials Iced Pomegranate & Kerala Lime Body Mist since a long time and I got it in this month’s box! Yay 😀 I absolutely love the smell and it is the best body mist I have tried, it just absorbs into the skin and leaves behind a refreshing smell. I have tried body mists from Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret too, but nothing beats this Forest Essentials one!

Coming to the Soultree Kajal, I already have 2-3 of these including one colored. I find the colored ones a bit dry in texture and these black ones are nice but as usual smudge a lot. So not too keen on the Soultree Kajal, but a full sized product is always good.

The 4th product is an option between Forest Essentials Body Mist & SkinYoga scrub, now I would have liked both 😀 But anyway, not being greedy, I am in love with this month’s My Envy Box. There have never been 3 full sized products and one deluxe sized (which is actually HALF) sample ever any of their boxes.

Fab Bag is a monthly subscription bag where you get 4 (sometimes a 5th bonus) products.

August month of Fab Bag is ‘Cast A Spell’ edition, which is Fairy Tale and Princessy theme.

MRP: Rs.599/- for 1 month

This time it is a metallic pink textured bag, a pretty bag though not something you can carry out, but good for travel yet again. All the Fab Bags are very multi-purpose and perfect for travel.

Contents of my August Fab Bag:

  • Divo Eyelash Curler- Full size (Rs.125/-)
  • Fran Wilson MoodMatcher Green Lipstick- Full size (Rs.590/-)
  • Roots Professional Morocvita Oil- 5ml (Full size Rs.2000/- for 120ml)
  • Ital Veloce Body Mist Summer Snowflakes -12ml (Rs.499/- for 210ml)
  • Bioderma Photoderm MAT SPF30- 5ml x 2 (Rs.1330/- for 40ml)

Overall, I would say I am quite happy with the eyelash curler and the moodmatcher lipstick, though it is not obviously worth Rs.590/-. The Ital Veloce Body Mist smells amazing and will be in my handbag now onwards.

I love the Roots Morocvita oil too, 5ml serum should last some time and I have another similar 5ml sample. Not very happy with the Bioderma small sample of sunscreen, but I am glad that at least they have included two samples coz one would be a total waste. I like Bioderma as a brand though and happy with the products.

I prefer deluxe sized samples and full sized products in a subscription box/bag. Though its a good bag, I would have loved a bigger sample of the Morocvita oil and Bioderma sunscreen, or maybe some other deluxe sized samples.

I would still recommend this month’s bag for a good mix of products and also an eyelash curler! Do book your bag for August if you haven’t already.
