Holi is coming up and I have so many good childhood memories attached with this festival. From prepping up previous day with balloons and pichkaris and finding all amazing colors to waking up early at 6-7 am and enjoying it with friends and family untill afternoon. It was so much fun! While the previous two years, I had my friends come over and we did have some fun with colours. But nothing beats the childhood fun, right.

This video totally refreshed my Holi memories.

Holi is all about love, joy, family time, togetherness and applying colours. Khul ke khelo Holi doesn’t mean we waste water, water conservation is an important issue currently and we should always try our best to not waste water. Holi can be played with colors and is equally fun!

I have tried a lot of them before too from Memebox, BB Cream Shop, Cosmetic- love and brands like Skin79, Lioele, Innisfree, b.liv, etc.

This time, it’s a new site called Skin18.com and it is all about face masks. Face masks are a very important step in Korean skin care and the serums and essence the mask comes soaked in benefit the skin a lot. All you need is some 10-15 minutes to soak your skin in the amazing essences of the masks at least once a week and your skin will thank you for that 😀

I got some 15-16 masks from them including the 3 step masks and also 2 ampoules from them. I have been trying this out one by one every week. I am loving the masks untill now and I think I will love each and every one of these :p

I love their site, it is easy to navigate and shop and I got my stuff in 10 days without any customs issues! I am definitely planning a haul from them, a few things on my wishlist already.

Lakme Salon #TheSculptLook Makeover,Vlog & Contest

Hi guys,

A few days ago I went to the Lakme Salon to try out the new Sculpt Look. Read all about the hair and makeup in The Sculpt Collection HERE.

There are various hairstyles and different makeup looks which form part of the Sculpt collection, it is all about the chiseled,sculpted look and a lot of contouring on the face, sharp hairstyles,etc.

You can always get it tweaked a bit according to your face shape and how you want to wear it. I loved the Marsala Stairs haircut and style, but that was something very,very sharp and the stylist Shefali told me I would need to straighten my hair all the time for the effect of the stairs to show otherwise it would not look good on me. Another option was The Pixel Bob but then again I did not want to go that short. Rest were buns which would work perfect with gowns or something Indian.

Hair

We went with the Victorian Matte look, but since I was wearing a casual tee, the bun would not have looked good and we changed that into a sculpted pony with a pouf and a lot of back combing at the front.

For the makeup, the entire face was contoured and I was given a darker, warmer base. A wash of warm gold for the eyes and inner half of the lower lashline. The very long winged eyeliner did not work for my face, so we went with kitten flick and kept the lips matte and dark too.

A closer look at the makeup

For the lips, Pallavi used the new Lakme Absolute Sculpt Matte lipstick in ‘Pink Me Up‘ and applied it with a brush, giving the lips a perfect sculpted shape.

Since the lights at the salon were bright and yellow, colors appear a bit different.

Let me share a few things today which my mom always told me to do, and I never did :p And now I feel, she was so right, I wish I had listened to her before.

  • Don’t binge on junk food

Well, I would not have to exercise later on, if I had listened to her.

  • Oil your hair more often,not only for the hair health but also to de-stress

Mom used to regularly oil my hair when I was in school and I had the best hair then, well like all, I reduced the frequency of oiling my hair once I entered college and then slowly it went down and down to nil. I should start oiling my hair again, miss my old awesome hair. Also the head massage my mom gave while oiling my hair was so so de-stressing.

  • Use natural stuff like curd,honey,besan,etc., for your skin

We all run after these face packs,face scrubs,face washes and what not and after using them for years, we suddenly realise that natural products are actually the safest and best. We should have listened to our moms before,right.

  • Early to bed,early to rise

Those late nights throughout our teens have changed our sleeping pattern and the weekends too, so getting up on weekdays for office has been such a pain for most of us :p

  • A penny saved is penny earned

Oh ya, the savings! Let’s not even talk about it, right :p Mom was always so right on saving and not spending like crazy.

Styling the new Lakme #HairIsFashion Hairstyle and Win a Hair Makeover

Remember my new Lakme Absolute Salon #HairIsFashion Show Stopping Hair makeover HERE. I am in love with the subtle highlights and the cut Shefali gave me.

The highlights get a bit lighter and more visible after a few washes..so they are a little more prominent now.

How I would love to style my new hair?

With western/casual clothes, I love the way its blow dried here. I would prefer doing the same..straight locks with in between subtle hints of highlights on the crown and from behind the neck. The auburn looks perfect with a brick red lipstick here.

With Indian wear like a saree/dress, I would go with softer curls on the ends turning them outwards something like this..

Or add some embellishment with bangs similar to this (I am thinking of experimenting with short bangs)

Or side swept hair with waves..

Can’t wait to try different hairstyles..would definitely update you guys with pics of more trials..
