Maybelline The Colossal Kohl/Kajal Turquoise Review, Swatches, FOTD

Maybelline Colossal Kohl Turquoise Review, Swatches, FOTD

Maybelline The Colossal Kohl/Kajal Turquoise Review, Swatches, FOTD

So, if you follow me on my facebook page or Instagram, you must have seen this already ! The new Maybelline Colossal Turquoise Kajal..I had done a look with it..I received it in Feb but since I was supposed to be hush hush about it before, I was mum :p

Ok anyways, now since its officially launched and you can lay your hands on it too..let me review it for you guys..

What the Company claims: Go all out with glamourous eyes in the most exciting Colossal Kohl- Turquoise which LINES like a kohl and DEFINES like a liner. Turquoise kohl is a refreshing twist on the conventional black kohl and a must have fashion and beauty accessory. Here’s why you’ll love it:

Provides 12 hours of smudge free turquoise intensity
Color doesn’t smudge or fade
Enriched with nourishing ingredients and Vitamin E to soothe the eye
Features a unique tip that glides smoothly for an even application
100% suitable for your eyes

MRP: Rs.249/- for 0.35g (Buy on Flipkart here)

It comes in the same yellow retractable pencil packaging as the Maybelline Colossal Kajal Black..only with the metallic blue script on it..

Since turquoise blue is perfect for summers, Maybelline came up with this shade..

Its a metallic turquoise blue shade with some minute shimmer..I would not say its as pigmented as the black kajal..though its smooth but needs to be layered for the color to show up.

Also its a little soft and breakable..

The color stays for a good 6-7 hours on the upper lashline but on the lower lashline, it stays for 2-3 hours..before it fades off..there is no smudging or flakes issue.

Here I have done a winged liner with it on the upper lashline..and connected it to the lower lashline..and used the black Colossal Kajal on the waterlines..

And an FOTD :p

Pros:

1. Nice bright summer color.

2. I like the fuss free, travel packaging as the black kajal..with the metallic blue script.

3. Pops up the eyes.

4. Is smooth to use…no tugging.

5. Stays for 6-7 hours on the upper lashline.

6. Does not smudge or flake.

Cons:

1. Not that pigmented..needs to be layered.

2. Does not stay longer on the lower lashline.

Overall, I would say its a nice refreshing change from the usual blacks and browns..also this bright blue is actually perfect for summers for popping up the eyes. Definitely worth a try !

To start with, I loved this concept of mix and match and create your own palette..you get to customize your own shades..and create your own duos, trios and quads..you can detach and attach it however, whenever you want, for travel, etc too..And you get different finishes and different types of colors..from neutrals to pastels to brights..

The small black single shadow..has a slider on both sides..where another eyeshadows can be slid and clicked to attach..the packaging is quite cute too..

Clicked together

All shades have different pigmentation and staying power..some are more pigmented while some are drier or sheerer..

130 Seafoam is a pastel bluish mint..its decently pigmented..and stays for 4-5 hours..I am not into pastel eyeshadows much..but if you like pastels, you should check this out..

260 Copper is a sheer true copper..it needs to be builded up..its a kinda of shade you can wear as it is with just a winged liner when you want to emphasize more on lips..like a good warm neutral..and would look great with Indian outfits..it stayed for a good 4-5 hours and without any creasing..without a primer too.

Here is an EOTD with the shade Copper..

Pros:

1. Nice mix and match and customization concept.

2. Cute packaging.

3. Quite economical.

4. 20 shades to choose from.

5. Different finishes from matte to shimmer.

6. Stayed well for 4-5 hours without primer and without any creasing.

Cons:

1. Some shades are drier and sheerer..not all have good pigmentation.

Overall, I would say I quite like them..but check individual shades and their pigmentation before making your customized palette..

I love Onyx, Eggplant, Java and Taupe..eyeing those 😀

PRODUCT PRICE: Rs. 750/- for 1.6g

So at first I thought I have an olive shade which is marked as blue..these both read pink and blue..(Remember the goof up in Eyeconic..I got two greens instead of one grey..read HERE )

Now I got confused between the blue and green..there was no swatch for the blue one anywhere online..and this swatches a deep green..

Basically the three blue/greens in this range are one is a turquoise blue, one olive green and one this Blue which is a deep sea green..

These are eyeshadows in chubby plastic crayon form with transparent lids and matching ends to the shades..and needs to be sharpened.

Pink is a beautiful champagne pink..makes a nice easy to wear color..a great highlight, perfect for inner corners and also highlighting your cheeks.. (or as shown to us in the Lakme Absolute Illusion Masterclass, after the normal base shadow is done, this pink shade was warmed in between fingers and applied at the centre..i.e where the eyeballs are..and it gave a beautiful nice shimmery sheen) Very multi purpose !

Blue is actually a deep sea green..its quite rich and dark..and would make for perfect night time smokey eyes.

They have all the features they mentioned ! Glides effortlessly, super soft, amazing pigmentation, stays put throughout the day but needs to be blended super fast coz it sets immediately.

Here I have used Pink with subtle eyeliner..would look great with bold red lips..or any bright lip..when you do not want the eyes to be heavy..but still some sheen and shine 🙂

Pros:

1. Super soft.
2. Glides smoothly.
3. Doubles up as an eyeliner.. (though a thicker one..you can make for subtle smokey eyes by just blending the thick liner)
4. Stays put through the day.
5. Amazingly pigmented.
6. Comes in 8 shades to choose from.. Bronze and Purple are amazing too..apart from these two..and White which is a nice golden white.
7. Pink and White are multi purpose.

Cons:

1. I am not sure why this is named ‘Blue’ :/
2. These are priced a little higher. (Rimmel Scandaleyes are priced at Rs.415/- for 3.2g qty..though a few shades in Lakme are more pigmented than Rimmel)

Overall I would say, these are quite amazing…and I loved the shades they have come up with..there are subtle Pink and White..and bright Purple and Blue, and Indian wedding wear Bronze and Olive..there is one for everyone..and for all occasions..Highly recommend them..

Oriflame Beauty Studio Artist Gel Liner Review, Swatches

Oriflame Beauty Studio Artist Gel Liner Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Oriflame Beauty Studio Artist Gel Eyeliner gives the precision line of liquid eyeliner for professional and smudge-free results.  The smooth texture of the gel eye liner delivers rich color and even coverage and ensures long-lasting luring eyes for up to 24 hours. It comes with a slanted brush applicator that gives smooth and flawless effects.

MRP: Rs.449/- for 3g

It comes in a small glass pot and a small slanted brush alongwith..

Its rich and deep..and matte black..good pigmentation..can be easily layered..I quite like it for tighlining..gives precise definition..

Texture wise, it is quite soft but not that smooth..I like the fact that the small brush can be used for travel and no need to carry a separate brush..but for regular use,I wish it came with a longer brush too,as holding that small brush and lining is sometimes difficult.

It stays on for 8 hours plus on my upper lashline with minimal fading. But it sets quickly and layering over it does not go smooth.

Pros:

1. Rich black

2. Very creamy.
3. Glides on well..no tugging or pulling.
4. Small travel friendly brush.
5. Stays put quiet long.
6. Its often available at a discount..and the qty is more than other gel liners..like Maybelline and L’oreal..so quite economical.

Cons:

1. I wish there was a longer brush too along.

2. Available only through reps.

Overall, I would say its a nice rich black, matte gel liner..and buttery in texture..comes with a nice travel friendly brush too..if you love gel liners, you should definitely try this.

Sleek MakeUP Garden of Eden Palette Review, Swatches

Sleek MakeUP i-Divine Garden of Eden Palette Review, Swatches

I had mentioned about the Sleek MakeUP’s new Garden of Eden launch HERE.

I finally received this palette and the blushes..after a long wait ! And sadly, I also had to pay customs on it :/ 🙁 But anyways, coming back to the palette.

It comes in the normal Sleek MakeUP palette black packaging..and also with the regular mirror and a two sided sponge applicator..

RRP £7.99

The cover also had instructions behind on how to use the shades, this time.

Sleek MakeUP says: Enhance what Mother Nature gave you with the striking, beautiful colours of Sleek MakeUP’s new Garden of Edeni-Divine Palette.

An earthy, nature inspired palette that echoes the hues of a stunning tropical jungle with dusky purples, earthy browns and organic greens.

Garden of Eden i-Divine delivers the iconic 12high pigmented eye shadows associated with Sleek MakeUP once again, with shades such as Paradise On Earth, Eve’s Kiss and Gates Of Eden. Each fresh, vibrant shade stays true from day to night and blends together beautifully to create any look you desire from soft and subtle, to dazzling and dramatic, suited to all skin tones. This is a beautiful palette made up of an array of earthy, nature inspired hues that echo a stunning tropical jungle with dusky purples, earthy browns and organic greens.

The swatches are all one swipe.

Shades are :

Gates of Eden : Warm Coppery orange gold
Eve’s Kiss : Metallic lilac pink
Paradise on Earth : Warm taupe purple
Python : Again a deeper taupe brown
Forbidden : Matte grey with gold shimmer..but dry in texture..not that pigmented.
Flora : Matte brick reddish brown..again a little dry

Entwined : Matte Medium taupe brown with gold shimmer..little dry and chalky
Adam’s Apple : Matte light apple green
Fig : Light metallic green gold
Evergreen : Metallic mid green
Fauna : Metallic forest green
Tree of Life : Matte forest green

It has the perfect mix of neutrals and greens..and taupe lovers like me would love the taupes it offers..I am not a fan of green shadows as such..but sometimes the deeper forest green ones like Tree of Life make for a super sexy green smokey eye !

Pigmentation wise, as usual the metallic ones were amazingly pigmented..but the matte ones were drier and needed layering..With a primer, these stay for 8-9 hours.

Overall, I would say if you love greens and taupes, then this palette is specially made for you 😀 But its a good mix of neutrals and brights. Recommended.

It launched on 15th Jan..and is available on sleekmakeup.com and Superdrug stores..

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Green, Blue, Brown, White Review, Swatches

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Green, Blue, Brown,White Review, Swatches
If you follow me my facebook and/or twitter..you would be knowing how I got the box torn from one side..and the pen drive was missing..

And instead of the grey, I got two green shades..

So lets review the four I have..

What the Company claims: Reinvent your everyday look with the all new Lakme Eyeconic White. With a deep colored stroke in an easy twist up format, it gives your eyes a long-lasting, Eyeconic look throughout the day.Smudge proof, water proof and dermatologically tested; Lakme’s Eyeconic White accentuates your eyes and makes them look bigger and brighter.

Key Features:

Smudge proof
Water Proof, Lasts up to 10 hrs
Safe for eyes
Convenient Twist- up format

MRP: Rs.250/- for 1.3g

It comes in the same retractable kajal packaging as Lakme Eyeconic in Black or other kajals in the market..its a tough competition in kajals category, I tell you..

White is a pure white shade

Brown is a dark chocolate brown

Green is a deep forest green

Blue is a light forest green (?) (I have no idea why the blue is a green..Lakme has released blue which is almost similar to the green..just a tad bit lighter..I had first thought I got three greens..but it was named blue..and when I saw online, I found that their blue is just like the green..I wish it was a navy blue or a nice peacock or turquoise blue..why the same blue as green, Lakme ?)

Anyways, so here you see only white and brown different..and two similar greens :p

T-B: Brown, Blue, Green, White

These are so super soft..these just break ! Two of the pencils’ tips broke while swatching..and again while trying..I have no idea why these are so soft..do they need to be kept in fridge or something ? It is as it is quite cold..this is only leading to product wastage..and after breaking the tip again and again, you will be hardly left with any product :/

One has to be super careful with this..

These do glide on smoothly and are too soft..no tugging or pulling..pigmentation is quite good too..

They stay on for 7-8 hours on my upper lashline and for 4-5 hours on my waterline..there was not much smudging..but just that they collect at the edges of the eye..but no raccoon eyes issue..

White looks too stark white..I prefer nudes on my waterline..I like using the white in the inner corners of the eyes..
Here I have used brown on my upper and lower lashline and waterline and white slightly in the inner corners..

I like the green one too..

Overall, I would say these are new in the market and colored kajals are a nice thing to have..and budget friendly too..only issue is too much product wastage..and not many shade options..

I would recommend the Green and Brown ! And if you like using white on the waterline..White too..

Would I buy it again: Yes..may be the Brown and Green..and other shades, if they come out with them..How I wish they do..

P.S: I am loving the songs ‘Ye Kudi Badi Drama Queen Hai’ and ‘Tune Maari Entry toh Dil Me Baji Ghantiya Re Tang Tang’ 😀 Do you like them too ? Soo catchy !

New Maybelline 12H Colossal Kajal Review, Swatches

New Maybelline 12H Colossal Kajal Review, Swatches
I had reviewed the Maybelline Colossal Kajal previously HERE. Now they have relaunched it in a darker and more long staying form..the previous one claimed 6 hours of wear and this one claims 12 hours..

Read on to know how it fares..

What the Company claims:

MRP: Rs.175/- for 0.35g

The packaging is the same..the same yellow swivel up mechanical pencil. Its nice, rich black and easy to apply..does not tug or pull.

Thats the whole qty

I did not like the previous one much..as it did not stay longer on my watery eyes..in fact no kohl stays longer than 2-3 hours on me..

But but this one did ! For almost 5-6 hours which is a very good thing considering my watery eyes. But it does smudge a little more than the previous one..that did not spread around giving raccoon eyes..this one does at times..

Here is the swatch..

L: Swatch R: After smudging

And on eyes..

Before, After

Pros:

1. Its nice dark black.
2. Glides on nicely..no tugging or pulling.
3. Reasonably priced.
4. Stays for 5-6 hours on my watery eyes ! Thats a long time for me 😀
5. It does not go away completely leaving your eyes bare..and there is always a hint of it till the time you remove it.
6. Does not smear much..the swatch did not budge from the hand.

Cons:

1. Claim of 12 hours..I am not really sure about.
2. No Ingredients mentioned.
3. Does give raccoon eyes at times..especially when eyes watery.

Rating:

Quality: 3.75/5
Value for money: 4/5
Availability: 4/5

Overall Rating: 3.75/5

Would I buy it again: Yes..I am pretty impressed by the staying power of this..much better than the previous one..
