Indian Wedding Outfits for The Bride’s/Groom’s Brother

Indian Wedding Outfits for The Bride’s/Groom’s Brother

By Sanchita

While plethora of options available for women when it comes to wedding guest outfits or attires, there are only handful of them available for men. One of the reasons is that men tends to stick to the tried and tested formals or traditional wear for ages but recently, there are various ethnic outfit inspirations have come up for the wedding guest outfits or attires for men. Choosing a Indian wedding outfit for the bride or groom’s brother can be slightly difficult. One has to choose the attire cautiously which should not overshadow the outfit of the groom but it should be unique and stylish enough. I have enlisted below the various choices for the Indian Wedding Outfits for Men (especially The Bride’s/Groom’s Brother) which ranges from classic suit to experimental polo pants. Let u have a look at the list.

1. Classic Suit look –

Nothing beats the classic! A well tailored suit for the handsome brother of the bride and groom is seriously unmatchable. If the wedding is a morning occasion, try the soothing colors like sky blue and white with perfectly gelled hair. For the night occasion, one can opt for black textured satin, perhaps, with a shawl collar and flapless pockets.

2. Bandhgala Semi-formal Suit –

One of the newest and catchy trends for the wedding attire for men is the – Bandhgala Suit. It is a classic combo of westerns and traditional attire and also help the man attain that look with ease. You can choose any luxurious fabric with the embellishment of your choice or even go for sleek black one. It goes great with the traditional and festive atmosphere at the Indian wedding.

3. Sherwani

Sherwani is probably the easiest pick for the Bride’s/Groom’s Brother. If you are absolutely short on time or you don’t want to experiment at all, this is the best option to choose from. There are various designs of sherwani available for men in the Indian market. One can surely look super stylish by accessorizing the outfit. You can add a turban with dupatta, belts, embellishment or even jewellery or multi-string pearl neckpiece. This will definitely add a royal touch.

4. Nehru Jacket

Nehru jackets with kurtas have become one of the hottest trends for men. This wedding outfit can be easily customized for day or night occasions and one can experiment with fresh and bright colours. You can also opt for various textures, patterns and fabrics. We have seen Bollywood celebrities like Saif Ali Khan, Siddharth Malhotra, etc sporting the Nehru jackets look with such posh and glamour.

5. Kurta Payjama

Kurta Payjama is not new as men’s wedding attire but various cuts, pattern, fabrics have revived the fashion for men. You can opt for dupatta or turban to complete the look. One can choose the fabric and color as per the day or evening wedding.

6. Floral jackets

Who said that floral jackets are only for women? Men can rock the floral jacket look for any wedding occasion. While choosing the floral jacket, keep the length in mind and also the kurta below must be simple. In this way, the embellishments will be nicely balanced and give a stylish look to the brother of bride of bridegroom.

7. Palazzo with Sherwani

Women are well aware of the ‘palazzo’ outfit but do you know that the men can rock it too for traditional occasions? This is surely a sensational wedding outfit for men and you can mix and match the wear as you like. The palazzo can be teamed up with heavily embellished jacket or kurta on top.

8. Polo pants

Polo pants and bandgala is another classy, stylish and trendy look for men’s wedding attire. In facts, back in the day many rajas and maharajas used to wear polo pants for hunting and other royal occasions. Team up the slightly flared polo pants with a well-fitted or tailored jacket or coat on top. The look is extremely elegant and stylish.

9. Royal Look

I drooled on this look worn by the charming Fawad Khan who walked for Manish Malhotra for the collection inspired by the fabled land of Persia. This look is absolutely resplendent with a long, flowing bandhgala frock-kurta that has every bit of glamour and grandeur, it was paired with a maroon wrapped tunic.

10. Dhoti Pants

Dhoti is one of the most worn traditional Indian wear for men but it’s difficult to carry. Well, we have a solution! The dhoti pants with the flare of dhoti gives you the perfect illusion and can be easily and stylishly paired with bandhgala, kurta, sherwani or Nehru jacket for any wedding occasion.

So all you men out there, what’s your pick? And women, your favourite on men?

Young, vibrant, exuberant, cheerful and a fashionista who exudes the girl-next- door vibe, Disha Patani is a head-turner, period. With an infectious smile, commendable sense of style, feminine aura and oodles of pertness, no wonder she has been catching the eyes of the Fash frat.

Both off-screen and on-screen, her appearances are to look forward to. On that note, let’s feast our eyes to her best off-screen avatars.

1) At the Lakme Fashion Week 2017 – Gracing the ramp with her bubbliness, Disha blended regal with chirpiness as she donned a gorgeous designer Jayanti Reddy’s creation at The Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017. She wore an ink blue lehenga and choli combination that had a cream, polka dot, gotta Patti Dupatta embellished with huge tassels.

2) At the India Couture Week 2017 – Dressed in a glamorous black lehenga as she strutted down the runway for Manav Gangwani at the India Couture Week, Disha Patani looked every inch the diva that she is. A beaming smile and her dainty frame complemented her gorgeous look all the more.

3) At the Big Zee Entertainment Awards – Swathed in a custom Swapnil Shinde gown with rings from Aurelle and bracelet from Gehna at the Big Zee Entertainment Awards 2017, Disha looked stunning. With her lustrous locks blow-dried to perfection, she exuded oomph and how!

4) At IIFA 2017 – The International Indian Film Academy awards 2017 held in New York’s iconic MetLife stadium saw the big-wigs of Tinsel-town paint the town red with their glamorous avatars. Bagging the award for the Best Female Debutante 2017, Disha walked away in a heavily embellished Falguni and Shane Peacock gown accompanied with an angled jewelled necklace.

5) At The Star Screen Awards 2016 – Sporting a green one-shoulder dress by designer Swapnil Shinde during the Star Screen Awards 2016, the MSD Dhoni heroine’s look is the textbook definition of being easy on the eyes despite dolling up! Asymmetrical lines brought a different element to her attire. Side-swept locks and minimal makeup rounded off her red carpet look.

6) During Kung Fu Panda’s promotional event – Eliciting vibrance, zest and sunshine, Disha stepped out in a pretty red floor length anarkali from hot-shot couturier Anita Dongre during one of the promotional legs of her then impending flick – Kung Fu Panda. Keeping the look ornate yet not over the top, it was the gota work which catches eyes and induces a thumbs up from the fashion police.

7) On the ramp for Ritu Kumar at the India Couture Week 2017 – Setting the stage on fire as the show stopper for master designer Ritu Kumar at the India Couture Week 2017, Disha sported a floral sheer maxi with a cascading hem. With tangerine pointed-toe flats, fish net stocking and a stack of stunning bracelets, she let her lush locks loose which further accentuated her baby face. Elegant and feminine in a nutshell!

OOTD: Shades of Blue feat. Recap Jeans

OOTD: Shades of Blue feat. Recap Jeans

Hi guys,

I recently got my hands on the new A/W’17 collection from Recap Jeans. A skinny fit denims and a super pretty blue and black printed off shoulder top.

I folded the denims a little to give the ankle length look, also the black contrast at the ankle looked chic.

The top was really comfortable and I absolutely loved the fabric, something I can wear comfortably all through the day and seasons, even in a humid city like Mumbai.

I am not much into skinny jeans, I like the straight fit more, but this was surprisingly comfortable. I didn’t feel suffocated and it is super stretchy, so even while bending/sitting, it was all fine.

I paired the outfit with a bamboo bag and rose gold pumps.

About Recap Jeans: Recap is a young, hip, modern denimwear brand. Our fits, silhouttes, fabrics and washes ensure that once a woman gets into our jeans she woudn’t want to get out of them. We live and breath denim. The young woman, the ever demanding fashionista is the focal point of our existence and we live to fulfill her every fashion dream. RECAP collections offer a wide variety of denim categories like ankle lengths, shorts, capris, culottes etc in a wide variety of fits along with fashion and classic topwear.

RECAP was launched in the year 1998. We come out with 2 collections in a year for the young fashion conscious women in the age bracket 18-30; spring-summer and autumn-winter. Our products which are made from the finest quality denim sourced from across the globe, incorporating the latest trends, have in a short period of time become a must have for any girls wardrobe. We were the first to introduce the current rage ‘jeggings” in the Indian market and it remains a favorite across categories even today.

About Recap AW Collection: The Recap AW 17 collection has something for everyone. Texture clashes are in trend this season. Recap’s colour palette ranges from sticky toffee, caramel, and camel to wine, plum and garnet. Combative prints, military inspired shorts and shrugs, long tunics all give the grungy look. Cool embroidery and intricately stitched denims with motifs of flora, fauna and quirky abstracts add that extra zing to your regular denim. Dungarees and culottes continue their fashion presence in our collection this year too.

The new AW 17 collection will be out on www.recap.in tomorrow.

If you liked my outfit and wish to check out more from Recap, Recap products will be on sale during the Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale. Not only on Flipkart, but also on other sites like Amazon, Snapdeal etc, including www.recap.in

OOTD: Off Shoulder Purple Lace Dress

OOTD: Off Shoulder Purple Lace Dress

Hi guys,

I have been meaning to do this post since a while and each time it gets delayed due to something. Finally sat down to post this.

I love colours, I am sure you know already. Purple, Pink, Orange, Yellow, all bright coloured dresses/tops are my favourites! I get instantly attracted to sunshine yellow, bright orange, deep purple and many a times in online shopping, the end product doesn’t turn out to be as bright as you expected it to be and saw on screen.

I saw this deep purple lace dress and loved it. I ordered it and was hoping for it be shown. Thankfully it was 🙂

I paired it with a gold layered choker neck piece and nude Steve Madden pumps. Since the outfit is bright, I kept rest of the things neutral. I am majorly into tan/nude/black when it comes to shoes and bags because I know I go for bright outfits mostly and the balance is always maintained.

I also wore the nerdy geek aviators that are quite IN and everywhere these days. I just wanted to give it a try and loved them on me. I usually don’t like sunglasses on my face, hence you don’t see me wearing them often even though I have quite a few.

The highlight of this look along with the dress is the new LakmexMasaba Lip Pout in Role-A-Cola, the purple lips went perfectly with the dress.

I hope you liked the look, do let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

OOTD: Black & Fuchsia Pink Ombre Maxi Dress with Embellished Cape

OOTD: Black & Fuchsia Pink Ombre Maxi Dress with Embellished Cape

Hi guys,

Time for an OOTD post. I had this dress since quite some time now, but I had to get few alterations done and hence the delay.

But finally I managed to shoot in this. It’s a stunning dress by the designer Mithi Kalra, she has also showcased at the India Runway Week.

The black and fuchsia pink ombre is gorgeous and the best part is it comes with an embellished cape with the same ombre.

My dream is to fly over the rainbow so high..

So you can wear it two ways, either just the maxi casually or with the cape for a cocktail or reception or any special occasion. I love such dresses which can be worn in different ways, you can make good use out of them.

I love the layers and the dress is quite heavy. The strapless ombre maxi can be worn in so many ways, with a denim jacket, leather jacket or even on it’s own.

Since the cape covers the neck and sleeves and is embellished, you do not need any accessories with this dress. I just paired it with my strappy black block heels and a fuchsia pink Kate Spade sling.

I highly recommend checking out Mithi Kalra, her facebook page HERE

I hope you liked the pics and the dress, I got so many compliments from random strangers on the dress while we were shooting 🙂

OOTD: Blue & Black Mesh Polka Maxi Dress

OOTD: Blue & Black Mesh Polka Maxi Dress

Hi guys,

I am doing an OOTD after a long time, because my daily outfits I usually share on my Instagram now. If you are not following me there, follow now : bhumika_t

But I have thought of sharing outfits of which I do elaborate shoots of or the outfits which are really pretty and absolutely deserve more pics and an entire blog post, here.

I got this blue and black maxi dress from eShakti in December, I know it’s been quite some time. I had gone for a holiday and came back with a fracture and was on bed rest entire month. It took me quite some time to be completely ok and then couldn’t get around shooting, hence the delay. I am really sorry for that.

Coming to eShakti, I got an email from them and I checked their website and I was absolutely in awe! I had no idea of an Indian website having such beautiful customized clothing at such an affordable price. eShakti primarily catered to US and towards the end of last year, they started the India operations.

They have tops, skirts, dresses, everything from casual to party wear and on trend clothes for women. And the best part is you can customize neck, sleeves, length, measurements, everything! So it is Your Size. Your Style

If you like a print in maxi dress, you can get the same in a shift dress, midi dress, skater dress, with sleeves, you can customize everything. And the best part is they have rates ranging from 1000 to 3000-4000, which is fabulous for a fully customized outfit. And mind you, at 3-4k, you get a beautiful cocktail gown!

I had to struggle a lot to find a nice, simple gown for my cocktail function, because in all the shops I got the diamond work gowns which I hate. They didn’t have anything simple or as per my liking, everything was too blingy for my taste. I finally went a black lace maxi dress from StalkBuyLove, which was too long and I had to alter the height of it.

If eShakti was retailing then and I would have come across this, I would have most definitely bought a gown from here. Perhaps this one only 🙂

I loved this peacock blue and black maxi dress. It has a silk base and a complete mest net coverage from the top, sleeves to bottom, with black polka dots ( in thread embroidery) throughout the dress. It has a zip behind and the entire outfit material from the cloth to the zip and buttons is amazing quality, no complaints whatsoever!

It also has pockets! My favourite part in a dress 🙂

I kept the accessories pretty simple, with just my rose gold Daniel Wellington Classic Petite watch and rose gold cuff. You can get 15% off on www.danielwellington.com using my code ‘BHUMIKA’

I really love this dress and I highly recommend eShakti. You will find everything from casual to party wear here and you can customize pretty much everything. They do take 7-10 days to deliver as they need to customize the outfit.

Dress: eShakti
Watch: Daniel Wellington
Earrings: Tanishq
On my Lips: MAC Ruby Woo

I hope you liked the dress, do let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Reviving 50’s fashion: Skirts in vogue this Summer

Reviving 50’s fashion: Skirts in vogue this Summer

By Ankita

1.

The 1950s: World war is just over and people’s mind seep with liberated ideas and view. It was also a time of transition for the fashion world. Women, now venerated from preconceived ideas of feminism now opted for more of an outlandish look, never ignoring the classy quotient.

2.

The Vintage Era: Welcome aboard the vintage era. Fashion at this time was marked by a rather girl-next- door yet glamorous look. The dressing style of the 5o’s always fascinated me, however, what really caught my attention were the skirts

Flirty Fashion: SKIRTS

Playful, innocently flirty, these twirl-y pieces of fabric are a must-have in every girl’s wardrobe, what I believe. Skirts have gone through some major transformations over the years, however, no one wore it better than the 50’s ladies. Here are a few trending ideas that will make you the girl-next-door diva, without making it look as if you just jumped out of a medieval circus. Want a bit classy elegance wrapped in playful fashion? Stay tuned mon cheries

A. The Play Date: Full Circle skirts

These skirts were an everyday essential for women in the 50’s. Full circle skirts have a waistband just above the natural waistline, giving an illusion of thinness. They make the hips look fuller and waist smaller, and are absolutely figure flattering.

3.

4.

Colours to go for this summer: Aquamarines, pastel shades of salmon and pink would suit the look best!!

Team it up with: A pair of light salmon peep toes and animal print tees and you are all set for your play date

B. For the ‘Not-so- girly-yet- girly’ Girl: Half Circle Skirts

Not the Barbie girl? This one’s just for you. A little less flashy than full circle skirt, half circle skirts have less flare at the hem. Women with naturally fuller hips would find it extremely flattering. Somewhere in between an A-line and a full circle skirt, these skirts are perfect for an everyday outing and even official parties.

5.

6.

Colours to go for this summer: Tan brown, off-white shades with tiny symmetrical prints and especially shades of royal blue look best on these.

Team it up with: A pair of ballerina flats or Jelly shoes ( tan colors look best) and high-neck soft cotton blouses which are a few shades darker than your skirt. There you go, my sweet tomboy!

C. Paris is always a good idea: Poodle skirts

Poodle skirts are an absolute favourite of mine!! They remind of the streets of Paris and famous song ‘La vie en rose’. These are one such style statement that has lasted the decades. They come with very catchy embroideries like kitties, Eiffel tower, telephones and even, statements such as ‘See you later alligator’

7.

8.

Colours to go for this summer: Without a question of doubt, baby pinks, Fuchsia, and light greys!!

Team it up with: A pair of cone heels or stilettos. Keep the top simple as your poodle skirt deserves most of the attention. Casual half sleeve blouses or even a very simple, tucked in, semi-formal shirt would go well with it. And your carriage is ready mademoiselle….

D. For ‘always chasing the ice cream van’ girl: Gathered Skirts

Hands up for how many of you are still stuck up in the school age! Me for sure. This one is for “I do not care what they think, I will have my ice cream" personalities. These look fabulous on women without much natural hip since the bulky band gave instant curves.

9.

10.

Colours to go for this summer: When it comes to gathered skirt, it is more about the print than colour. Big bright prints on the hemline, light summer checks in shades of blue and pinks suit the look best. However, you can pretty much experiment a lot with gathered skirts.

Team it up with: A pair of oxfords or kitten heels, a few shades lighter than your attire. Buttoned up shirts in very pale and light shades compliment this look very well. Go and get your ice cream girl!!!!

E. For the Lady of the house: Pencil Skirts

Who said pencil skirts can be boring and stereotypical?? Pencil skirts are one of the most figure flattering attires on the face of the earth! However, a modified version of pencil skirts are sheath skirts which are more comfortable. But my favourite version of pencil skirts are mermaid skirts or fishtail skirts. They balance out proportion beautifully well and suit almost all body shapes

11.

12.

Colours to go for this summer: As opposed to the usual black and grey, go for burnt oranges and teal colours this summer.

Team it up with: A pair of really good pumps and formal shirt, even a t-shirt. Top it off with a pale pastel colour blazer and you are all set to work, work, work, work…work.

F. For the Bay Watch Babe: Gypsy skirts

The world is going gaga over boho fashion. However, did you know that the gypsy style skirt comes from a long lost lineage of tiered skirts? Also referred to as layered skirts, these are perfect for beach outings. Long, flowy and mystic when combined with the right accessories and top, they make you look like a Greece-ian Goddess and is a win-win over bikini anytime any day. Period.

13.

14.

Colours to go for this summer: Shades of pastel pink, salmon, cool light brown and sea-green would rock this look. However, the fabric is most as it needs to be extremely lightweight and flowy, with a hint of shimmer, to give you that mythical iridescent look.

Team it up with: A chiffon crop top or halter neck with a bejewelled neckline will complement these skirts best. A pair of gladiators, add on some boho trinkets, are you a goddess of the seas or what??!!!!

Who said classy can’t be sassy? These were my ideas of 1950s fashion revival with a little bit of my own twist. What are yours?

Any suggestions, comments, and ideas are always welcome 🙂
