MUFE Ultra HD Foundation, HD Second Skin Cream Blush Review, Swatches

MUFE Ultra HD Foundation, HD Second Skin Cream Blush Review, Swatches

MUFE Ultra HD Foundation, HD Second Skin Cream Blush Review, Swatches

Hi guys,

So if you saw my First Impressions video, I had used the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation and the Second Skin Cream Blush in that. Unfortunately, the lighting in that video was poor. I did test it out quite a few times later on, and of course have natural lighting better pictures. So let’s get on to the review first..

Claims: Developed specifically for the film and TV industry’s most advanced technology, Ultra HD Liquid Foundation creates a naturally flawless complexion—on and off camera. Completely invisible under the latest, super-focused 4k lens, this revolutionary foundation features uniquely-coated pigments that provide medium to buildable coverage with an even lighter weight, second-skin texture that looks just like skin. This lighter weight formula delivers the very same flawless results as before when applied with a flat foundation brush in a tap and stretch motion

Long lasting with a natural finish, Ultra HD Liquid Foundation is formulated with hyaluronic spheres to ensure comfortable wear on all skin types. Now available in an expanded range of 40 shades to match all skintones, Ultra HD is the perfect everyday foundation for a flawless complexion – and an unretouched life.

MRP: INR 3400 for 30ml

Availability: Sephora stores

Shades Available in India: 15

How to apply: Apply two pumps of Ultra HD Liquid Foundation in thin layers, starting in the center of the face and stretching outward.

Buildable Coverage: For best results, apply with a flat foundation brush or sponge

Light Coverage: Buffing brush

After the Make Up Forever HD foundation’s massive success, they launched the Ultra HD which is even better and meant for super high definition pictures and videos i.e. for 4K lens.

It comes in a similar packaging with a pump as the HD foundation, only the HD is completely black while the Ultra HD is silver at the center body.

It is very runny and light weight in texture, it has 80% water content, so you don’t feel like you have foundation on even with multiple layers.

It has medium coverage which is buildable, but you won’t get a complete coverage with this, you will need a separate concealer for blemishes. You can build up the coverage in thin layers, and still it will never look cakey or heavy. It will give you a natural skin-like finish and it will be hard for anyone to say you have foundation on.

I have the shade Y375 Golden Sand. Y is for yellow undertones and R is for red undertones, I guess.

I love love how natural it looks, it blends into the skin seamlessly and looks skin like. I have never come across such a natural foundation. It photographs really well. If you prefer matte finish, you can use a powder to mattify it, it will not look powdery or cakey whatsoever.

It stays put through the day and does not wear off or settle into lines or crease, even on the edges of the nose or the laugh lines.

I agree it is pricey, but I definitely recommend it for days when you are going to be photographed or have a special occasion. This is meant to be used for high definition photography and does that job amazingly well. It is invisible even on 4K camera and looks like skin!

HD Second Skin Cream Blush

Claims: Products in the HD range come from a generation of formulas designed to create makeup that is flawless, natural and invisible to both high definition cameras and the naked eye.

Unlike any other cream or powder blush*, this unique formula melts on the skin for an extremely natural flush of color with a long lasting result. Its blendable, second skin texture allows for easy, controlled application.

Formulated with the perfect balance of silica powder and synthetic mica, HD Blush has a soft focus effect that diffuses light for a radiant finish. Its blend of waxes and oils creates a lightweight texture that easily glides on the skin for a flawless result.
Studio-tested with HD camera.
Dermatologist tested. For all skin types.

MRP: INR 2600 for 2.8g

How to apply: Remove a small amount of HD Blush and apply it with a brush, HD Sponge, or the fingertips, depending on the desired result.

Shades Available: 16

I have the shade 320 English Rose, it’s a beautiful muted rosy pink shade. I love the texture of it, it has a cream to powder finish. So once you blend it in, it settles in just to give a soft flush of color. There is no slip or greasiness and the color won’t slide off.

Blended, Unblended

The best part about this HD blush is, even though it is quite pigmented, it does not look OTT on the face. It just gives a soft flush of color and is very easily buildable and blendable.

I love the natural flush of color it gives to the cheeks. Also loved the shade 330 Rosy Plum, both the shades 320 and 330 are perfect for everyday wear and would work on warm Indian fair to medium skin tones. 330 one would work on Medium to Dark too.

Again being HD, it photographs really well.

I have used both here..

and here..

Overall, I would say, HD products are a must have for someone who gets photographed often. If you are a bride to be, I would definitely suggest the Ultra HD Foundation and the HD Blush. They have HD Concealers and Powders too.

Have you tried the MUFE HD/Ultra HD Foundation? Or the HD Blush? Your thoughts?

Lotus Herbals Ecostay Super Finish Mousse SPF 20 Review, Swatches, FOTD

Lotus Herbals Ecostay Super Finish Mousse SPF 20 Review, Swatches, FOTD

Hi guys,

I have been trying out the Lotus Herbals Ecostay Super Finish Mousse since the past few weeks and here’s my take on it.

What the Company claims: This feather light oil-free texture won’t feel greasy or heavy delivering all day flawless natural looking matte skin. It will easily hide blemishes and spots on face creating a perfect make-up base.

Special Features:

Unique feather light oil free texture
Super easy to blend & evens out the skin tone
Non-comedogenic – it won’t clog pores and is safe for sensitive skin
Natural matte finish
Waterproof Formula
100% Vegetarian
SPF 20 for UV protection
Enriched with Jojoba extracts – It promotes skin healing, treats acne and acts as a natural moisturizer for the skin

How to Use:
Cleanse your skin.
Apply moisturiser on whole face & neck.
Apply Ecostay Mousse in dots on moisturised skin, blend well in sweeping strokes using fingertips to achieve silk-smooth finish and ultimate coverage.

MRP: Rs.675/- for 15g

Shades:

  • Royal Pearl
  • Bright Angel
  • Royal Ivory

Ingredients: Jojoba extracts

It comes in this very small glass jar, it’s quite tiny than I expected. This is easy to carry even in your sling. It comes with a metallic pink cap, there is no white separator in between though.

The texture is whipped cream/mousse like and it does feel silicony which makes it a good primer that will smoothen out the skin and/or pores. It has a strong floral smell, but does not bother much and goes away in a minute. I am glad it comes with SPF 20.

I have the shade Bright Angel which is the mid shade I believe. It is a little yellow for me, but when blended on the skin, it did not look that yellow and somehow matched the skin.

The finish is completely dry and matte, you do not to top it up with a powder. This is perfect for oily skin, but if you have dry skin, make sure you moisturize heavily, coz otherwise it will accentuate dry patches.

The coverage is light and more like a tinted moisturiser for everyday use. It evens out the skin and covers any redness. You will need a concealer separately for dark circles and acne scars. Here I have used only the mousse and nothing else, and you can see my dark circles and few scars showing through. When using for an occasion, I would advise using this as a base as it makes for a good primer and smoothens out the skin and stays long.

Staying power is pretty decent, you don’t need powder touch ups as it’s matte finish, only the nose/T zone gets a little shiny after the usual 4-5 hours which is what normally happens on any skin.

I wish they had more shades though, only three options are less. Plus the quantity of 15g is also too less for the price, it should have been 30g atleast. Also only jojoba extracts is mentioned, I prefer full ingredient list.

Overall I would say it’s a daily wear mousse which gives light coverage and stays for a decent time. It smoothens the pores and gives a nice, matte look. It’s good for office or college wear and can also work as a primer. I would recommend this for oily skin. And dry skin too, but with a good, heavy moisturiser.

Have you tried the new Lotus Herbals Ecostay Super Finish Mousse yet?

Top 10 Foundations for Oily Skin in India, Prices, Buy Online

Top 10 Foundations for Oily Skin in India, Prices, Buy Online

By Sanchita

Summer is almost here and it is just a matter of a month now. With summer, comes back the oiliness, greasy feel and of course, the infamous breakouts. Therefore, the oily skinned beauties are always in hunt of oil-free foundation that would not only keep the oiliness at bay but also stay long. The oil secretion increases with the passage of time and the foundation along with the blush and bronzers also starts melting down, creating a big mess. Hence, choose the foundation very cautiously. With so new launched every month and the discontinuity of several products, it is very difficult to choose one product. Therefore, I have compiled the 10 best foundations for oil free look with various coverage. Let’s take a look at it.

1. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation – 525 INR (BUY HERE for 417) (Review coming soon)

The newest baby from the Maybelline. The brand is exceptional well in bringing out great products at a very budget friendly price tag. They provide a medium to buildable coverage (bit not heavy) and gives a satin-matte finish. It makes the pores look slightly blurry and soft and has a very good oil control factor. For the price, it is wonderful choice for oil skin.

2. Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse – 725 INR (BUY HERE)

Another great foundation for oily skin from the very own desi brand Lakme. It is has the light whipped mousse texture, as the name suggest and blends on the skin like anything. One of the popular and remarkable foundation of all times, is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid. MAC can provide you the best shade card and seldom people go wrong with the shades. Bhumika has already tried, tested and reviewed the foundation and she believes it is a great foundation for oily skin. It has 11 shades with adequate warm and cool tones. The texture is nice to work and it is advisable by her to blend in with a damp brush or sponge. It feels completely matte on the skin, there is no shininess or dewiness with it. It gives a nice medium to heavy coverage without blocking the pores at all. It has SPF 18 but it doesn’t gives any whitish cast and also photographs well.

5. Bourjois Happy Light foundation – (APPROX. 1600 INR)

A light foundation tailored for the oily skin. It blends into the skin just like a natural coating with an airbrushed touch to it. It feels extremely light to wear it and doesn’t suffocate the pores at all. There isn’t any issue of breakouts and the foundation has several warm shades for the Indian skin. It gives a moderate to buildable coverage but won’t work much on stubborn acne marks. It has a soft dewy finish but not oily at all. It has an excellent wear time of 8-9hours.

6. L’Oréal Paris Nude Magic Liquid Powder Foundation – 899 INR (BUY HERE for 872)

A great liquid powder foundation for oily skin that works perfect for regular usage. It has a light and runny consistency that blends into the skin within no time, even with fingers! It gives a soft matte yet not a dull finish to the skin and spears very lightweight. It has sheer to buildable coverage and wont accentuates to fine lines and dry patches. It doesn’t oxidizes underneath a sunscreen and has a staying power of 5-6 hours.

7. Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matt Oil Free Foundation – 845 INR (BUY HERE)

This is something you won’t ever regret of buying. Considered one of the best foundations for oily skin, this one gives a sheer to medium coverage and looks ultra-smooth. Although the finish is matte, it provides a kind of healthy glow to the skin in no time. It is heat and sweat proof for a certain period of time and doesn’t oxidize. It is an ideal foundation for office wear and has a very good wear time of around 8-9 hours with minimal blotting.

8. Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup – (Approx. 2300 INR)

Every product of Clinique is tailored for specific skin type and this matte foundation works incredibly well on oily skin. It has a gel-cream texture and available in 13 shades, from where you’re to get your match. The product blends in as easily as possible without any cakey or uneven finish. It is matte and also aids in controlling oil and shine on the face. It suits sensitive skin and there isn’t any issues about breakouts. The product also photographs very well in flash.

9. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup – 3000 INR

Many bloggers consider it their HG foundation and surely it has too many reason for it. it comes in 30 shades and has a petite packaging. It has a medium consistency liquid texture that blends generously and then sets into a matte finish. Despite having an SPF it photographs really well and hence, will work great for brides. It stays on the face for around 8-9hours without melting down or oxidizing. It gives a medium to buildable coverage and feels almost weightless. Although the price is slightly high, but you won’t mind splurging on this at all.

10. Revlon Colorstay Makeup 24 Hour Combination/Oily Skin Foundation – 974 INR (BUY HERE for 895)

Revlon has some very good range of foundations and Colorstay is one of them. It has a light and water proof texture that blends seamlessly with damp brush or sponge and gives a soft matte finish to the skin. This foundation has two variants – one for dry skin while the other for Combination/Oily Skin. This is another great choice for problematic skin and gives a medium to heavy coverage. It photographs exceptionally well and doesn’t oxidize. It is available in shades and perfect for Indian skin tones.

Editor’s Note: Again a super helpful and nice compilation Sanchita. I have combination skin and love the L’Oreal Infallible. Currently trying the Maybelline Fit Me one which is also the cheapest in this list, super economical!

Kryolan TV Paint Stick Foundation Review, Swatches

Kryolan TV Paint Stick Foundation Review, Swatches

By Sanchita

INTRODUCTION – I have heard so much about Kryolan from every other MUAs I have met that I had to try out this brand. One thing that draws me closer to this is the innumerable shades that they offer. Getting the perfect match for a foundation and concealer is like a dream come true for every girl (Okhay! I exaggerated that :P) I do not have such skin issues but I have worst possible dark circles that surely needs to be corrected and concealed well. Last week I paid a visit to the store and picked up the TV Paint Stick Foundation in the shade FS 28.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Successfully proven cream make-up in stick form. The special base of TV Paint Stick allows a gentle make-up application that provides effective covering at the same time. The Kryolan assortment of more than 250 color nuances for selection is truly extraordinary – which makes this preparation indispensable for stage, film, TV, video work and more.

PRICE – 1000 INR for 25g

Ingredients:

MY REVIEW

Packaging – The Kryolan TV Paint Stick Foundation comes in a dull silver and grey packaging. It has a screw cap and the foundation is in the form of a stick which needs to be twisted up like a lipstick. The packaging is surely efficient but if I have to go for the looks, I am not much impressed. The hygiene factor is also there as you have to use fingers every time. The printed mask reminds me of ‘V for Vendetta’ which surely isn’t something I want on my makeup. Nevertheless, it is light weight and completely travel friendly. The foundation has a weird smell but nothing to put you off completely. It isn’t very overpowering as well so I wouldn’t complain much.

Shade – Coming the shade, it is FS 21. They have countless shades so you really have to choose carefully. This shade I am reviewing today, will suit mostly NC 42-45 and I am actually NC 41. Hence, it comes off as slightly darker on me so I simple use it on the outer perimeter of my face, conveniently skipping the bronzer. However, it works as a great concealer, provided you know the application well. It has strong yellow-peach undertones and hence will be an excellent choice for warm Indian skin tones. It has some deep shades as well which you can use for contouring.

Texture – the texture is thick and unless you are well accustomed with foundations, I would say – stay away from this one. It is in the form of a pan cake stick and the texture is thick. However, it isn’t very hard to deal with if follow certain procedures. The texture makes it slightly time consuming to blend, especially if you have dry and patchy skin. Therefore, use a good moisturizer and primer underneath. It doesn’t have SPF and there isn’t any white cast spelled on the face.

Application – before the application, make sure you have well moisturized canvas to paint this one. The best way to apply this TV Paint Stick is to use fingers and damp sponge. Warm up the product between your fingers and apply on a small area (do not load up too much products at a time). Now, take the damp sponge and keep buffing unless, you see this blending onto the skin. This is a tip I learnt from the MUAs that for this kind of thick texture, it is better to buff with a sponge than drag and blend. For eyes also, warm up the product and softly pat to blend in.

Coverage – coverage is medium to heavy. It has the ability to conceal acne, scars, dark circles (even the worst cases), pigmentation and the list goes on forever. In fact, coverage is the best thing for which the TV Paint Stick is famous for. It doesn’t look ashy or uneven or unnatural, but good coverage to hide and conceal any blemish whatsoever. It is great for a difficult skin which suffers from flaws and also for the wedding and party purposes.

Finish – I have oily skin and the foundation look dewy to transforms to oily in an hour. Therefore, you have to set it with a good powder (preferably loose) and then you are good to go. Dry skin won’t need a powder except for under eyes as it looks dewy on them. I use the Kryolan TL4 which is a yellow base powder to give a brightening effect to the matte skin.

Criticism – the foundation has certain bad points as well. It is very heavy and doesn’t let the skin breathe at all. It blocks the pores very badly and hence, every time I use this, I end up with tiny zits all around the face. So, this isn’t a foundation to be worn every day. The product wont suit sensitive and acne-prone skin so be cautious when you pick this up. For those, you can try the Dermacolor range which is equally good and oil free.

Staying Power – the foundation stays pretty well and survives around 7 hours even during summer. It doesn’t melt down and create a mess but I always use blotting paper or powder touch ups when I feel that the skin is getting slightly oily. It is also water proof as well.

OVERALL – the foundation is multipurpose and efficient. It has high coverage, dewy finish for dry skin and great staying power. On the downside, it takes a lot of time and effort to blend and break outs due to its thickness. For the price, the amount will last a long time.

WHAT I LIKED:

  • Handy and travel friendly packaging.
  • Countless shades to choose from.
  • Can be used as foundation, bronzer and concealer.
  • Blends well into the skin
  • Heavy coverage and doesn’t look unnatural if applied properly.
  • Dewy finish for dry skin and can be made matte with loose powder.
  • Staying power of around 7 hours.
  • Sweat proof.
  • A little amount will last a long time and hence it is surely value for money.

WHAT I DISLIKED:

  • Dull and unhygienic packaging.
  • Not for beginners as it requires a lot of techniques to blend in.
  • Breaks out on skin due to heavy texture.
  • Can’t be used as a regular foundation.

RATING – 3/5

RECOMMENDATION – I have a love and hate relationship with this. Due to the breakout issues, I simply don’t use it very often but only when I want to opt for heavy coverage for special occasion. Normal to dry skin can use it well with proper moisturization and blending and for others, but only if you are looking for super heavy natural coverage.

Editor’s Note: I have heard so much about this Sanchita, and I always wanted to try. But then again I am not much into super heavy coverage and usually prefer water based and light foundations. Though I feel this is perfect for someone who has to be photographed or has to be in front of the camera all the time.

Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation Review, Swatches

Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation Review, Swatches

By Pallavi

Hello Girlies,

I was in hunt of everyday foundation. But i wanted something lighter not those heavier cakey foundations. Those heavier cakey foundations are meant for parties and night outs, not for daily wear especially in mornings. Now, most of you will recommend BB and CC creams for this. But sadly i have used a number of BB and CC creams but none stood as per my expectations. So, i resorted to foundations. But i was looking for foundations which could serve as a daily wear.

Thus, i went to my nearest store and the SA there recommends me this foundation from the house of Colorbar. The SA swatched this one on my hand and i liked it’s finish. Thus, without further adieu i bought this.

So, here is the Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation with UV Filters for all you ladies. Read along to know if it’s worth your skin or not.

Company Claims:

  • A fluid foundation that adapts itself to the color of the skin.
  • Moisturizing and filling benefits
  • UV filters for sun protection
  • Lightweight, Oil Free
  • Dermatologically tested
  • Available in 3 shades

Shades Available:

  • Classic Ivory
  • Nude Beige
  • Warm Beige

Price: Rs.725 for 30ml

Ingredients:

My experience with Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation with UV Filters

This foundation comes in a rectangular medium sized silver carton box. The packaging looks very chic and shining. It has entire product details inscribed on it.

Inside the silver box there is a sleek skin colour tube. The tube has a very unique and appealing shape. The bottom of the tube which is the cap is silver in colour. The cap is screw cap which needs to be twisted to bring out the product. Inside the tube there is a thin nozzle out of which the product comes out. Once when you have twisted the cap you need to press the tube slightly to bring the product out. A very little product comes out.

This is the medium shade ‘Nude Beige’. The foundation is light cream in colour. It has a thick consistency. You need to take the product in a little quantity because after blending too the product has a yellowish cast. You need to further blend the product to minimize the yellowish cast. So, words of caution take a little product only. This will make your swatch easier.

Now, i apply the foundation in dots on face. You need to move the fingers to blend the product completely. The product has UV filters which will protect you from sun exposure. The finish is very natural. It does not feel heavier on skin. It has slight illuminating particles. The product is perfect for daily wear foundation and gives medium coverage.

Pros of Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation with UV Filters:

  • Trustworthy brand
  • Widely available
  • Lasts pretty long
  • Little product goes a long way
  • Very natural finish
  • Has UV filters
  • Does not feel heavy on skin
  • Survives entire day

Cons of Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation with UV Filters:

  • Only 3 shades available
  • Needs a lot of blending

Quality : 4/5
Value or money : 3/5
Availability : 4.5/5

Overall Rating : 4/5

Editor’s Note: I think it’s a nice everyday option, especially for office wear, also the fact that the shade adapts to your skin is good. But minimum 5-6 shades would have been a much better option. Nice review Pallavi 🙂

Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup & Pressed Powder Review,Swatches,Demo

Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup & Pressed Powder Review,Swatches,Demo

Revlon recently launched their Nearly Naked Makeup range in Mumbai last month where got to see the products and try them first hand and also we learnt a few things about the ingredients, etc and the celebrity Makeup Artist Bianca Harkopf told us more about the foundation and how she uses it. I have been using the foundation and powder since some time and here are my two cents on it.

Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup

What the Company claims: The ultimate lightweight makeup! Formulated with weightless pigments, this refreshingly light formula melts right in creating a fresh, even complexion. Works in harmony with your skin to cover flaws and perfect tone and texture.

Key features:
Naturally flawless complexion
Creates a fresh, even look and covers flaws
Blends seamlessly with buildable coverage for a natural finish
SPF20
Has green tea, black tea, oatmeal and jojoba oil

MRP: Rs.750/- for 30ml

Shades Available: 3

  • Shell- For light skin tones
  • Fresh Beige- For medium skin tones
  • True Beige- For darker skin tones

I have also recorded a video talking about both the Foundation and Powder and also has a demo.

Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup i.e. the Liquid Foundation comes in a square glass bottle packaging with a white cap, and unfortunately, without a pump. So one has to dispense the product directly from the bottle and it gets very messy and unhygienic and also leads to wastage of product. The glass bottle is also not travel friendly.

It is neither too thick nor too runny and blends easily on the skin. It gives a dewy finish and coverage wise it gives light to medium coverage. As the range goes ‘Nearly Naked’, it is true to its name and gives a nice, even , dewy skin and lets the skin breathe without clogging the pores but yet smoothens out the pores. It is ‘My Skin But Better’ kind of finish.

It stays for about 7-8 hours easily but I need to powder the T-zone and oily skin will need 1-2 touch ups with powder through the day. I love dewy finish and usually skip powders, so I absolutely love the finish of this. If you have heavy dark circles or acne scars, you will need to cover those with a separate concealer.

I have the shades Shell and Fresh Beige here. Fresh Beige is a good match for me.

L: Shell, R: Fresh Beige

I have used only the foundation here in this Before – After pic

Before – After

It has SPF 20, which is an added benefit if you are indoors or forgot using your sunscreen, though SPF 20 is not enough and does not replace your sunscreen. Even though this foundation has SPF, it photographs really well and does not give a whitish cast in pictures. Also it does not oxidize much, but does adjust to your skin tone in some time.

I even skipped the moisturizer and my skin did not feel dry at all, it is quite hydrating. It would work for all skin types with a little touch up for oily skin. Overall, it is perfect for everyday use for light to medium coverage. It is priced very economically and would last quite some time.

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder

What the Company claims: Makeup so refreshingly light it melts right in, creating a fresh, even look. Our pressed powder blends so seamlessly with such a lightweight feel, you may forget you’re wearing any makeup at all.

• Evens skin tone
• Non-cakey formula provides a shine-free finish
• Available in 3 shades for varying skin tones

MRP: Rs.725/- for 8g

Shades Available: 3

  • Fair
  • Medium
  • Medium Deep

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder comes in a long, rectangular white packaging. It has a see through round plastic on top where one can see the powder which will not be a very pretty sight once it is half used :/ It has a small rectangular mirror on one side and a tiny rectangular puff on the powder side.

I am not very happy with the packaging, not at all travel friendly and the tiny puff is impossible to use on the entire face unless you spend a lot of time. The classic, round packaging would have still been better!

L- R: Fair, Medium Deep

The texture of this powder is what compensates the packaging. It is soft as butter and super creamy, it does not feel like a powder at all. You will not even get the usual stray powder when you dip a brush in it as it on the creamier side unlike other dry powders.

The coverage is quite light but it does even out the skin tone and mattify the skin. It also smoothens the pores and gives the face a polished look, which is seen in very few powders. My Inglot AMC Pressed Powder was one such creamy powder.

L: Medium Deep, R: Fair

I prefer using a brush as it takes forever with this tiny sponge. I have the shades Fair and Medium Deep. I thought Medium would be a better match for me and Fair will be very light. But since the coverage is not very high, Fair did work well and it did not look very light. I am going to try using the Medium Deep for contouring, would let you know how it works.

At Rs.725/-, this one is priced slightly higher but the quantity and quality is quite good. I would have definitely preferred better packaging though.

Overall I would say if you are looking for a daily use pressed powder but which is not drying and gives a nice, creamy finish and evens out the skin tone or something to set your makeup, you should check the Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder.

To sum it up, I am very happy with both the Foundation and the Powder, only not happy with the packaging and less number of shades. I would say go and try it out at the store and find your perfect match. If you are medium skin toned, then both the Powder and Foundation in Medium & Fresh Beige respectively would work for you.

Claims & Directions:

Shades Available: 6 (5 Yellow,1 Pink)

Ingredients:

I have it in the shade OC30 which is the darkest in the shades available and is fortunately a perfect match for me. Most of the girls complain about the shades as ZA does not have darker shades in foundations as they are made for Asian skin, but thankfully they are going to launch special shades for India next year.

I love this small, tiny bottle packaging. It is super handy to carry, does not occupy too much space and is light unlike the glass bottles which also have a risk of breaking.

It has a nozzle tip which is the best idea. We can get the exact quantity of product required and is more precise than a pump too.

Coming to the texture, where should I start from! It is the most light weight foundation I have ever tried. It is water based and very, very light. It is runny and blends seamlessly. You will not feel you have any foundation on, since it is water based and so light.

Plus the finish is exactly how I like, soft and dewy. It gives medium coverage, so if you have any acne scars, etc, you will need a separate concealer for that as it will not cover heavy scars. But for evening out skin tone and covering redness and giving a nice, healthy, dewy looking skin, this is perfect!

I usually use tinted moisturizers on a daily basis and hardly foundations as I don’t like the heavy feel on the skin. But ever since I have got this, I am only using this whenever I am heading out.

Here is my Before-After

As you can see, it has covered redness and evened out the skin tone, plus covers some amount of scars and under eye circles too.

Pics with complete makeup..

As it has SPF17 PA++. it gives some amount of extra sun protection too. It does exactly all that it claims- the hyaluronic acid gives the skin a plump finish, the micro pearls actually give a nice glow, oil free and water based so no clogging of pores and perfect for all skin types from oily to dry.

Also it is very economical at Rs.700/- for 30ml, I have been using it since quite a lot of time and I think I still have 50% remaining. You don’t need a lot of product in one use.

It is available online on Nykaa too (Buy HERE)

Overall, I would say it is my current favourite and the most light weight foundation I have ever used. I love water based products, if you have oily skin and all foundations clog your pores, then this one is a definite try for you. And if you have dry skin and are looking for something which will give you a nice, dewy, healthy looking skin, then again this one is a definite try. Highly Recommended!

Check out the review, swatches and demo of the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Reno Liquid Foundation HERE

Today I am reviewing the shades 160 Sand Beige and 225 Beige of the Infalible Reno Powder Foundation. I am not sure why it is ‘Infalible’ instead of ‘Infallible’

To start with the packaging, the upper part is plastic and quite light. It comes in transparent crimson packaging with a see through cap. The lower part has a sponge and mirror which is something quite nice, as the sponge is in a separate compartment so it does not get mixed with the powder even if you use it wet and the mirror is so handy while travelling and for touch ups. Though I wish the packaging was a bit sturdier coz this might break, even if it falls down once.

The texture is very fine, though it is not the smoothest. It can be used wet or dry. I prefer using a brush when I am using it dry and the sponge it comes with when using it wet.

Left: 160 Sand Beige, Right- 225 Beige

It gives light coverage when used dry and a little more medium coverage when used wet. It is completely matte and there would be no trace of shine on your skin when you use this. This will be a boon for people with oily skin.

Left: 160 Sand Beige, Right- 225 Beige

Since I prefer dewy finish and I am not a fan of matte, I do not use powders often except for my T-zone. Also you will need to moisturise really well before using this, as it accentuates dry patches.

The main con for me is the white cast! 🙁 It gives a strong white cast, especially in photographs.

160 Sand Beige is supposed to be lighter than 225 Beige,as shown in the Shade Options available online. But somehow Sand Beige is a better match for me and 225 Beige appears lighter on me. Even in the swatches, Sand Beige is a little more yellow and that matches well with my skin tone.

Here I have used both 160 Sand Beige and 225 Beige wet with the sponge.

160 Sand Beige (Left- With Foundation, Right- Without Foundation)
Makeup with 160 Sand Beige as a base
225 Beige (Left- With Foundation, Right- Without Foundation)
Makeup with 225 Beige as a base

225 Beige is lighter and looks even more light with the whitish cast, as you can see.

I am not generally a fan of using powder foundations wet, unless you are out and don’t have any liquid foundation and are heading to a party or a function and need some coverage. I generally prefer using powders on them when for daily basis or as a setting powder.

It works well on its own and amazing as a setting powder, only when used wet, it gives a whitish cast which I don’t like. I would recommend the shade 160 Sand Beige for mostly all of us with medium skin tone and yellow undertone.

Overall,  I would say it’s a nice powder foundation which is perfect for travelling and a boon for oily skin. It works really well as a setting powder too and also amazing for touch-ups. I would not recommend it for dry skin or if you want to use it wet.

I was trying and testing out the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Reno Liquid Foundation for you guys since quite some time now. So let’s get on to the review.

It comes in a glass bottle with a transparent red cap which has shade numbers on the top. The bottle is a bit heavy, but not too heavy. It comes in a square packaging and has a black pump inside.

It is liquidy and runny but thick enough and not water like. It is easy to blend using both brush and fingers.

How I use it is, I take some foundation on the back of my hand and dot my face all over with the foundation and blend it either using fingers or a brush. If you are using a brush, make sure it is a bit damp which will help you blend it more easily since this foundation is on the dry and matte side.

The foundation feels completely matte on the skin, there is no shininess or dewiness with it. If you have dry skin, I recommend using a moisturiser beneath, but even if you don’t, this won’t feel stretchy on the skin, though the finish might be better with a moisturiser and it may not accentuate dry patches.

For people with oily skin, this is a boon. It stays matte for a good 4-5 hours for someone with dry/normal skin and then you need to blot some oil or shine on your face with a powder. For oily skin, you will need to blot it in 2-3 hours maybe, but once blotted, you will get the matte effect back.

It stays for almost the whole day, though the finish would look slightly dull at the end of the day i.e after 9-10 hours. It is almost transfer proof, though if you are sweating or have some shine on the face, it would transfer a bit on the tissue.

I am glad that it comes in 11 shades and has shades for both yellow and pink undertones. Though the darker shades are not much, and I found 3-4 shades very, very close to each other with not much difference.

I love the finish of this foundation. It provides medium to heavy coverage with layering. It covers dark spots, redness and also some of dark circles. You can skip a concealer unless you want a flawless finish. I usually don’t use a powder on top and it stays matte and let’s the skin breathe too. I have received quite some compliments with this foundation and even Cory Walia mentioned that I was glowing 😀 I did not reveal this secret though.

Even though it has an SPF of 18, it does not give a white cast and photographs well. Also, the shades are so close to each other, that you can make them work for you, if you choose any of these mid shades, a lot of options for us, wheatish skin tone.

I have the shades 200 Golden Sand, 140 Golden Beige and 220 Sand, all three of which are yellow toned and warm.

I have worn all three shades outside and none looked too light or dark, all three worked decently. If I have to choose, I would say 140 is the match closest to my skin, followed by 200 and 220 is slightly dark.

Overall, these are amazing quality wise and would last you quite long as you don’t need too much product. They give a nice, matte finish and stay put whole day. Perfect for oily skin and would work well for dry skin with a moisturiser underneath. Highly recommended.
