After the ‘bride in the making’ pics in the last post, here are the final pictures 🙂
One saree done :p I had to wear 2 sarees and one dupatta and all that jewellery amd manage walking,sitting, etc with that :/
The white saree shown in the above pic on the shoulder is the 2nd saree called the ‘Panetar’. And the dupatta, thank god the dupatta was not huge but still it was heavy.
Done with all three finally.
I loved the makeup! It was subtle and elegant, not overly done. No cakey foundation, the eyes were perfect and he used a burgundy lipstick on me which I never thought would look good on me, but he mixed 1-2 shades and the hint of pink looked nice.
Cory and his team did the hairstyle and jewellery placing also really well. Draping was the toughest coz two sarees were to be draped together where the red gharchoda is the main saree (Some Gujuratis have the panetar as the main saree and wear the gharchoda before the 4th phera) and panetar also goes together. They did it really well. Also they did the crisp gharchoda pleats with the help of a hair straightener! I had read about that tip but never got the chance to try it myself, finally it was tried on me 😀 And it really works in keeping the saree pleats together!!

Let me tell you I was very nervous. I thought he would be very moody types or something but I was so so wrong. He was very very sweet and warm. A very down to earth and jovial person. We both are Sagittarians :p We chatted a lot and he made me feel quite comfortable.
Starting with the goof ups, he and his team members Poonam and Priya already reached the venue at 9am even before we reached :/ And I still had to sit for the pre wedding mandva puja which took another 40 minutes or so. We had ample time to get ready so that was not an issue, but still I did not want to make him wait. He was very calm though and had his breakfast peacefully.
Later on when we started with the makeup, my jewellery box went missing. I was going nuts :/ My friends and family took rounds to home to check while all the time it was in the same bag right in front of us and no one could find it :/ Yes, all this usually happens on the day of your wedding. Something similar happened with my bhai’s sherwani on the day of his wedding 😀
Finally we found it, and untill that time we did the basic makeup,etc. Jewellery was required before hair for the maang tikka etc placing.
I also learned some tips and tricks for him. He said I am the first bride he is working on who knows so much about makeup and makeup brands and is so knowledgeable,that he loved doing my makeup 🙂

After the base, Cory used the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Compact to set the base. He used the Face Stylist Blush Duos and Lakme Eye Quartet.
He made a slight wing with the Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate and lined the waterline too with it. (I love it too..was carrying only this liner/kajal for my honeymoon)

And last but not the least mascara..
We did not have flowers and Cory wanted to add them to the bun, so he went and got some flowers from the wedding mandap 😀

This would probably be my last bridal update for now 😀 Only 5 days left. Nervous/Excited/Sad/Happy. I have no idea, its a mixed bag. I just hope everything goes smooth and well.
On 4th Thursday is the DJ cum mehendi function and on 6th Saturday is the final D Day. I won’t be too active on the blog after 1-2 days, though I have some scheduled posts for you all. Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liners are a new launch in the Lakme Absolute range and were a part of the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 Collection designed by the bridal team of Cory Walia and Manish Malhotra.
Available in 7 shades, they come in a small cute tub form with an extended handle and a brush within the handle. No need to carry a separate brush now. (or worry about loosing it/misplacing which happens most of the time :p)
Texture wise, its more like a mousse. Very very creamy and super light. It will get digged in with just a single dip of the brush. It goes on smooth too. Very long lasting and smudge proof, even the swatch on my hand did not budge. You will need a good makeup remover to remove this completely.
It stays on for a good 7-8 hours, and then starts fading in bits, but does not go away completely.
My only issue was the shade. This particular shade Vine Yard needed layering. I have to go over it 2-3 times for the eyeliner to show up, on my eyes, as it waters down a little, when applied on the eyes.
I have seen the swatches of all the shades and that’s not the case with all the shades. Most of them are pretty pigmented and bright and show up on the eyes in one swipe. I think its only Vine Yard and probably Grey Ash that needs layering.
The shade Vine Yard looks more purple in the tub, but it comes up as a bluish purple with gold shimmer.
Must Have (Black), Bronze, Teal and Deep Sea are the most pigmented. I loved the bronze, it looks gorgeous. Definitely trying that next.
Its slightly over priced too, like all other products in the Lakme Absolute range. I feel it could have been priced at around Rs.600-650/- max.
Overall, its super creamy in texture,easy to use and long staying. Other shades in this range are super pigmented too. Recommended.

Lakmé Salon Presented ‘Show Stopping Hair’ Collection Styled by Little Shilpa @ Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014

So I attended this #HairIsFashion #ShowStoppingHair ‘first of its kind’ hair fashion show yesterday at Lakme Fashion Week. It was styled by Little Shilpa, but the whole show revolved around hair.
Lakmé Salon brought hair to the forefront for the first time in the history of Lakmé Fashion Week through its ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection. Styled by Little Shilpa, the line showcased a variety of head-turning avant-garde hairstyles that opened with ‘Metamorphosis’; a play of hair colors, followed by ‘Illusion’; a tryst of hair lengths and textures and ended with the classic ‘Moulin Rouge’; bouffants and updos galore. Twelve models walked the ramp with the spotlight uniquely focused on their hair, punctuating Lakmé Salon’s belief ‘Hair is Fashion’.

The collection took its cues from three different spaces; postmodern Paris,romantic Paris and Moulin Rouge.
Cutting edge hairstyles, and mirror images of opposite hair lengths and textures constituted the first part of the show, ‘Metamorphosis’.
‘Illusion’ inspired by the ‘Northern lights’ phenomenon celebrated the confluence of hair colors.
Finally, red crystal chains around hair cones, coiffures and red crystal nested mohawks recreated ‘Moulin Rouge’ for the show.
Whether drapes of shredded fabric around models in all black, or corsets with micro shorts, Little Shilpa certainly added some interesting design elements that complimented Lakmé Salon’s unconventional hairstyles. Add to that theatrical lighting where the spotlight followed models, furthered the dramatic tone of the show. Little Shilpa also created a special limited edition hair accessory which will be offered to the first 20 Lakmé Salon customers who opt for these newly introduced looks. These pieces have been crafted basis the three themes that were showcased at the show.
Metamorphosis
At the event, Shailesh Moolya, Creative Hair Director, Lakmé Salons stated that “Lakmé Salon for the first time in India made hair the hero of the show. Our three creative and trendy hair themes from the ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection will revolutionize hair fashion in the country and are going to make hair the boldest fashion statement. But this was one unique concept and show. The hairstyles must have taken hours! I actually loved the whole enthusiasm and energy of the models, designer Little Shilpa and Shailesh behind the whole show.

I am reviewing the shades Red Delight and Desert Rose today.
At first, many would be confused about the name which says ‘Gloss Addict’ and it is actually a lipstick. The range is called Gloss Addicts and the Lipsticks are a part of this range. These are basically high shine glossy pigmented lipsticks.
They come in a pretty silver packaging with a see through cap. The base is strong enough, so no fear of breakage as seen in a few lipsticks recently.
It is super glossy and moisturizing. Well pigmented and 2 strokes give you a full opaque color. It stays for 2-3 hours and leaves behind a soft tint and reapplying is easy too. You can apply it on the go, unlike a few matte lipsticks which need to be applied properly with patience.
Only issue is does not stay that long and might not cover pigmented lips completely especially the lighter shades like Desert Rose here.
L- Red Delight, R- Desert Rose,
Red Delight is a pinkish red shade with some fine shimmer. This shade would work on all skin tones. And it is one easy to carry red. If you are just starting with reds and don’t want to jump on the bold reds, this lipstick is for you. It brightens the face instantly.
U- Desert Rose, D- Red Delight
Desert Rose is a light rosy pink shade. Would suit medium to fair skin tones. It gives a fresh look to the face and is a good shade for daily wear. But not meant for pigmented lips, as won’t show up much.

Pros:
1. Super glossy.
2. Pigmented.
3. Very hydrating.
4. Comes in 15 rich shades and has all pinks, nudes, reds, corals,etc
5. Travel friendly.
6. Easy to use on the go.
Cons:
1. Expensive and the qty is less too.
2. Lighter shades won’t show up on pigmented lips.
Overall, I would say these are good for someone who loves glossy lipsticks. I do. Also these are so easy to use, you can just carry one along and apply it in the car,cab,auto, etc. Very pigmented and hydrating and come in an array of 15 pretty,fresh,wearable shades.
My other favorites are Berry Rose, Plum Perfect (perfect plummy pink) and Orange Candy (a very wearable coral orange).
