L’Oreal Paris Cannes Collection Glamorous Gloss,Marvellous Matte Look

If you have been following me on my twitter or Instagram, you know I had attended the L’Oreal Paris Cannes Press Con Red Carpet where 6 winners each from Team Glamorous Gloss (headed by Katrina Kaif) and Team Marvellous Matte (headed by Sonam Kapoor)  walked the red carpet with their respective team heads i.e. Sonam and Katrina.

Bloggers were also invited for a photo shoot with the stars and divided into Team Gloss and Team Matte. I was in Team Gloss.

We were sent the L’Oreal Paris Exclusive Cannes Collection a day prior and we had to create a gloss/matte look (whichever team we are in) from the collection. I got 3 L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire in 201 Rose Symphony, 202 Coral Encore and 400 Plum Quartet, L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza in Sapphire Blue, 1 L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipstick in Spring Rosette and 2 Limited Edition Special Cannes Collection Swarovski crystals studded L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipsticks in Raspberry Syrup and Arabian Night.

I was in Team Gloss, so I went with super glossy lips of course and L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire helped me achieve that look. Its a super glossy liquid lipstick. There are also three shades of gel liners in the Cannes Collection- L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza 36H in Diamond Black,Royal Blue and Sapphire Blue. Royal Blue is a gorgeous deep blue, I would have loved to try that. I got the Sapphire Blue shade which is a deep bluish black..looks more black on the eyes. But the texture and quality of these gel liners are beyond amazing. They come with a brush and I got a smooth flick with just one dip of the brush! Beat that! It is super pigmented and goes smoothly all at once. I loved their previous basic black and brown 24H gel liners too (Check the review of the Brown one HERE)

The Cannes collection includes all the existing L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipsticks and some they have launched in a new revamped Swarovski studded packaging..looks so pretty! The real Swarovski crystals on the top and bottom of the cap and then it comes with a velvet cover to protect those crystals.

I got the shade Raspberry Syrup and Arabian Nights in this new packaging and the shade Spring Rosette in the old packaging.

I showed you guys the outfit I wore to the red carpet in my previous OOTD HERE. Let’s take a closer look at the glossy makeup.

I used the L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza in Sapphire Blue on my upper and lower lash line..winged it a bit on the top. And for the lips, I went with L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipstick in Raspberry Syrup as the base and the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire in Rose Symphony on top.

I did not get a chance to click pics with Sonam or Katrina as they arrived late and my back had started paining by then, so I had to leave sooner.

Marvellous Matte Look

I also tried a matte look the other day..went with Sapphire Blue gel liner again but only on the lower lash line, on upper lashline normal black liner with a slight wing and the L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipstick in Spring Rosette. I am so in love with this shade, my current staple and always in my bag!

Illamasqua lipsticks come in standard black packaging. With the Glamore Collection, they introduced these satin finish, non drying formula.

I absolutely love the shade Glissade and now the new favourite is Rockabilly. These are super pigmented and long staying. They stay for around 6-7 hours.

Feels super light on lips and the finish as described satin, is not completely matte, but pretty comfortable and hydrating. It goes on glossy and settles for a more matte look in an hour.

Rockabilly is described as a cherry red, it is indeed a cool toned pink based cherry red but very wearable and not over bright, though it looks more pink in the bullet in bright light here.

Here is it on me..

Overall, I would say the Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks are a must have! These are super pigmented,long staying,light,comfortable and have a nice range of shades. Only issues are pricing which is a bit high and the availability.

Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks Review,Swatches

Hey guys, I went to the Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Collection Launch on the 16th and we got a few samples to try out. As you know, I am most excited about the lipsticks always 😀 I have been trying these out since 2 days and here is the review.

They are called Rebel Bloom in the US and Rebel Bouquet in the UK same as here in India. The collection is more about pastels but not many shades would suit the Indian skintones, so Maybelline India has selected the shades that would suit the Indian skin tones and only launched those.

Why You’ll Love It
Super-saturated pigments give fresh-picked pastels a bright kick. Sumptuous feel and enriched with honey nectar. 6 vivacious shades.

MRP: Rs.450/- for 3.9g

Shades Available: 6 (Sadly they are named REB01 to REB06, while the ones in US have pretty names. Maybelline why you no name lipsticks? :/)

I am reviewing the shades REB01 and REB05.

It comes in the normal ColorSensational square packaging with a transaparent red cap. The labels behind are red and coral according to the shades.

It is super creamy and soft in texture and melts in contact with the skin. It has a glossy,mirror finish which will give a bit of plumping effect to your lips.

I have turned into a matte lips fan recently, and these are into the glossy category. I wish they were matte :p They are quite pigmented but you do need to go over twice for a smooth and fully opaque coverage. Also since these are very creamy, they tend to bleed and you will have to be careful while applying. But once applied, they settle after some time and then stay put.

L- REB05, R- REB01

These are not transfer proof and you will need to reapply if you are eating or drinking,can survive tea and light snacks though. But otherwise, they stay for 4-5 hours (REB05 Peach stays for 3-4 hours) and also leave behind a pretty stain which stays for sometime.

T- REB01, B- REB05

You do not need any lip balm with these, since these are super moisturising. The honey nectar takes care of your lips.

REB05 is a peachy coral shade

REB01 is an apple red shade with some very fine shimmer

And here are these on moi..

L- REB05, R- REB01

These are reasonably priced at Rs.450, though the ColorSensational ones are priced at Rs.400 and the Bold Matte at Rs.425. A 5-6% price increase is still ok, unlike the brands these days who have increased prices 30-40% for their new launches.

Overall, I would say these are glossy and moisturising texture wise, but are not transfer proof. Also, these might bleed and need a bit of careful application, but once settled, they stay put well. I loved the peachy coral REB05 and can’t wait to check out the other 4 shades. Recommended!

I am reviewing the shade Pink Caress and Tangerine Lush today. The packaging is same as the Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Lipsticks, silver body  with a transparent cap.

It is sturdy and travel friendly, while I was swatching the lipsticks, I thought maybe the lipstick bullet may come off since I was going over it quite a few times, but it is sturdy enough and stayed put 😀

It has a slight sweet artificial smell which I did not like, but it goes away in a minute or two, and does not hamper.

Coming to the finish and texture, I would say I LOVE it! Perfect matte finish,goes on smooth, does not dry out the lips and feels very very light on the lips.

Only thing is you need to swipe 2-3 times to get the perfect opaque coverage. It stays on for 6-7 hours with minimal fading and survives tea and light snacks. It is not completely transfer proof, but I guess that’s ok.

L-Pink Caress, R- Tangerine Lush

While the Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Lipsticks were priced at Rs.800, I feel these are amazing comparatively at Rs.700. And with the quality these come with, I don’t mind the price at all since most of the new launches currently have been priced quite high by all the brands. (You know what I am talking about :D)

Up-Pink Caress, Down- Tangerine Lush

It is not as bright as it appears in the tube and swatches a bit different..both the shades are candy like and pretty young and vibrant

L-Pink Caress, R- Tangerine Lush

Pink Caress is a beautiful matte candy pink. My favourite of the two

Tangerine Lush is a medium orange,not to bright or neon or in your face. Quite wearable

Overall, I would say these are quite fabulous and I am in love with them! My current new love <3 Highly recommended!

To start with the Inveda BB cream, its quiet nice and good for everyday use. Only issue being just 2 shades available: Fair and Matt

I have tried the SoulTree Kajal before, the Pure Black is much smoother than other colors which go on a little hard. Also its all natural and organic made from ghee and camphor, but if you are looking for something smudge free, this won’t help at all.

I loved a full sized lipstick in the bag, though I wish I would have got some other matte shade. This shade Rosey Plum has shimmer and I am not a fan of shimmer.

I like the Sebastian shampoo deluxe size and would be carrying it for my next travel.

Absolutely loved these cute butterfly blue earrings from Fashionography.

Overall, some hits and misses. Though more of hits for the price of Rs.599/-. I absolutely recommend giving Fab Bag a try.

Today I am reviewing Aishwarya’s Pure Brick, Sonam’s Pure Garnet and Frieda’s Pure Rouge..I couldn’t click the pics and swatches of the rest of the lipstick coz of the accident..I will do a separate post for the remaining shades i.e. Pure Amaranthe, Pure Vermeil, Pure Fire and Pure Scarleto.

It comes in a black square packaging with the matching colored square showing the shade inside with the ambassador’s signature over it to whom the shade is dedicated. Its easy to carry and chic, tough enough and does not break easily as was with some of the Infallible ones. I like how the bullet has the sharp tip in the front making it easier to apply on edges and curves of the lips.

Though the texture is matte, it is not uncomfortably matte or crayon like matte. It goes on smooth without any tugging. It is super duper pigmented, even the swatches took a day to go with rigorous rubbing. I love that these are matte plus moisturising, though a lip balm beneath is advisable, still its not uncomfortable on the lips.

It stays for 6-7 hours and leaves behind a strong tint which stays again 2-3 hours, it survived basic eating and drinking too. I am impressed with the staying power.

Aishwarya Rai’s Pure Brick is as named a pure warm,earthy brick red..very wearable and looks pretty as a tint too.

Sonam’s Pure Garnet is a very unique shade..its a pink based red and looks berry wine like in sunlight while a bright,vampy berry indoors.

Freida’s Pure Rouge is a true cool toned bright red, looks like MAC Ruby Woo dupe in arm swatch, but actually Ruby Woo comes up slightly orange on the lips and in pictures while this does not.

The fact about these lipsticks are these look different on everyone..same shade would look way different on you and on someone else..each one has their favourites here. And one is bound to like 3-4 out of these 7.

My favourites are Pure Brick and Pure Amaranthe out of the 4 I have tried..would update with rest later 😀 Also Pure Garnet is a very unique shade which is a must have if you into berry shades. I do sometimes love wearing berry shades.

Overall, I would say these are just perfect in terms of pigmentation,texture,staying power,shade selection, etc..Only thing is these are a little highly priced but I am glad the quantity is 4.2g compared to the 2.5g in Infallible. Highly recommended!

Today I am reviewing 344 Hottie Plus Chambor Lipstick which I had picked sometime back. I was looking for some nice Pink lipstick and I landed on this one from Chambor. I have always liked their dazzle eyeliners but never tried their lipsticks, so thought of giving this a try. Once I swatched it, I liked the pretty pink shade and thus bought it. It was an impulse buy, but thank god it didn’t disappoint me.

This has a good pigmentation and hence I use it according to the occasion. On days when I want a light sheer finish I swipe it just once and for more prominent effect I go with two swipes.

So I am just listing some reasons below, as to why I like this lipstick
• Nice pink shade
• Pigmentation is good
• Stays for 2/3 hours and then leaves a nice stain
• Formula is creamy and it is quite moisturizing
• Doesn’t settle in fine lines
• Great for regular use

However what I didn’t like about this :
• If you swipe it more, it feels heavy on lips
• I felt it be to slightly overpriced
• Transfers easily
• Packaging is quite old fashioned

Ingredients:

I am reviewing the shades Fuchsia Sparkler and Grape Martini today. It comes in a normal transparent round gloss packaging with a doe foot applicator.

Its like a liquid lipstick in texture. Super pigmented and rich, you need just one-two swipes for complete opaque color. It gives a glossy look which goes away after some time and the color stays on for 2-3 hours after which it fades away evenly. Its hydrating and does not require separate lip balm, non sticky and feels very light on the lips.

Fuchsia Sparkler is a bright fuchsia pink.

Grape Martini is a gorgeous grape color. (nothing like this in my stash) Unique and pretty.

So the pinks,reds and nudes might be common shades, I definitely suggest getting this for Grape Martini. I haven’t seen Hawaian Orange but that sounds good too.

These are travel friendly too. Also the quantity is superb, though the price is slightly higher. I wish all brands came up with half quantity and price and mini versions, so that we can try to finish the products too,which usually never happens!

Overall, I love the shade Grape Martini. I like the pigmentation and ease of use of these Lip Cremes. These are indeed like rich,creamy liquid lipsticks. Though the staying power is normal, you can reapply them anywhere with ease. Definitely recommend!

Well the time where brands are keeping on increasing their prices and lowering the quantity of lipsticks from 4.2 to 3 and 2.5g, I am happy that we have Colorbar with a reasonable tag of 475 and the old huge qty of 4.2g! Yay 😀 We want more of these Colorbar! Are you listening? :p

I am reviewing the shades 42MPeach Life and 39MWild Mauve.

Coming to the lipstick, its a part of the Matte Touch Lipsticks range. Its the silver colored packaging with a different shape of bullet, I quite like the shape 😀

These are matte but not completely crayon matte, still creamy and hydrating. Rich pigmentation especially the darker shade. You just need 2 swipes for full,opaque coverage. These stay for 3-4 hours and the Wild Mauve for 4-5 hours without much eating or drinking.

Peach Life is a medium true peach shade.

Wild Mauve is a deep,rich pink based purple. Some felt its a dupe of MAC Rebel but that is more on the pink side and this on the purple. Its a very unique and a fabulous shade. Perfect for fall/winter and a must have shade in your stash! Also wore it HERE.

Overall I would say these are perfect value for money. Good in quality,quantity,economical,well pigmented. I absolutely recommend the shade Wild Mauve. Would love to have more such unique shades in this collection.
