With 6 matte and 10 creme shades and in crayon form, it looks interesting. These are priced at Rs.650/- which is pretty decent. I am really looking forward to the matte shades coz I absolutely love the Lakme Absolute Sculpt High Definition Matte Lipsticks. Victorian Rose and Pink Fantasy look the most interesting to me.

Revlon recently launched their Nearly Naked Makeup range in Mumbai last month where got to see the products and try them first hand and also we learnt a few things about the ingredients, etc and the celebrity Makeup Artist Bianca Harkopf told us more about the foundation and how she uses it. I have been using the foundation and powder since some time and here are my two cents on it.

Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup i.e. the Liquid Foundation comes in a square glass bottle packaging with a white cap, and unfortunately, without a pump. So one has to dispense the product directly from the bottle and it gets very messy and unhygienic and also leads to wastage of product. The glass bottle is also not travel friendly.
It is neither too thick nor too runny and blends easily on the skin. It gives a dewy finish and coverage wise it gives light to medium coverage. As the range goes ‘Nearly Naked’, it is true to its name and gives a nice, even , dewy skin and lets the skin breathe without clogging the pores but yet smoothens out the pores. It is ‘My Skin But Better’ kind of finish.
It stays for about 7-8 hours easily but I need to powder the T-zone and oily skin will need 1-2 touch ups with powder through the day. I love dewy finish and usually skip powders, so I absolutely love the finish of this. If you have heavy dark circles or acne scars, you will need to cover those with a separate concealer.
I have the shades Shell and Fresh Beige here. Fresh Beige is a good match for me.

It has SPF 20, which is an added benefit if you are indoors or forgot using your sunscreen, though SPF 20 is not enough and does not replace your sunscreen. Even though this foundation has SPF, it photographs really well and does not give a whitish cast in pictures. Also it does not oxidize much, but does adjust to your skin tone in some time.
I even skipped the moisturizer and my skin did not feel dry at all, it is quite hydrating. It would work for all skin types with a little touch up for oily skin. Overall, it is perfect for everyday use for light to medium coverage. It is priced very economically and would last quite some time.

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder comes in a long, rectangular white packaging. It has a see through round plastic on top where one can see the powder which will not be a very pretty sight once it is half used :/ It has a small rectangular mirror on one side and a tiny rectangular puff on the powder side.
I am not very happy with the packaging, not at all travel friendly and the tiny puff is impossible to use on the entire face unless you spend a lot of time. The classic, round packaging would have still been better!

The texture of this powder is what compensates the packaging. It is soft as butter and super creamy, it does not feel like a powder at all. You will not even get the usual stray powder when you dip a brush in it as it on the creamier side unlike other dry powders.
The coverage is quite light but it does even out the skin tone and mattify the skin. It also smoothens the pores and gives the face a polished look, which is seen in very few powders. My Inglot AMC Pressed Powder was one such creamy powder.
L: Medium Deep, R: Fair
I prefer using a brush as it takes forever with this tiny sponge. I have the shades Fair and Medium Deep. I thought Medium would be a better match for me and Fair will be very light. But since the coverage is not very high, Fair did work well and it did not look very light. I am going to try using the Medium Deep for contouring, would let you know how it works.
At Rs.725/-, this one is priced slightly higher but the quantity and quality is quite good. I would have definitely preferred better packaging though.
Overall I would say if you are looking for a daily use pressed powder but which is not drying and gives a nice, creamy finish and evens out the skin tone or something to set your makeup, you should check the Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder.
To sum it up, I am very happy with both the Foundation and the Powder, only not happy with the packaging and less number of shades. I would say go and try it out at the store and find your perfect match. If you are medium skin toned, then both the Powder and Foundation in Medium & Fresh Beige respectively would work for you.

The Body Shop launched their Body Sorbets in summers which is the apt season to launch this product. It is an industry first, i.e. no other brand has a product like ‘Body Sorbet’.
It comes in the long tube packaging with a flip cap and comes in this 200ml size only. It is slightly huge and not very travel friendly.
I have tried a lot of Strawberry products from The Body Shop and wanted to try some other variant. Moringa was not something I liked the smell of and so I went with Satsuma and I am glad! I absolutely love the citrus burst of Satsuma, it smells like ‘Fresh Orange Juice’.
I avoid heavy and rich moisturisers in summers as they make my skin feel more oily and sweaty, Body Sorbet was a savior in summers as it gave hydration was so light and refreshing that it got absorbed in a jiffy without any greasiness on the skin.
It is light peach in color and thick gel like in texture but very light and water based.
Also when it was scorching hot, I did keep it in the fridge as mentioned in the tip above, and it felt so awesome. Now since the summers have gone and it’s the monsoons, I don’t keep it in the fridge. I am still using it as in Mumbai as it is never cold and mostly summers here throughout the year except 2 months.
It is slightly on the expensive side of course as around 800 bucks is a lot for 200ml body moisturizer, but you don’t need a lot with this as it spreads well. And also it does not provide 24 hours hydration obviously. This will only work in summers and for someone with normal to oily skin.
Overall I would say, try this in summers or if you live in a hot,humid city. You will absolutely love this. I will not recommend it for people with very dry skin as this will not suffice the moisturisation your skin needs.

Now you must have read a lot of reviews on Maybelline Baby Lips in general, then they launched the Electro Pop Range. And now Maybelline India has come up with the new Spiced Up Range and all three shades are quite suitable for Indian skin tones.
I like the packaging how the tubes match the shades, pinker one with pink and berry one with berry. I have always liked Maybelline Baby Lips as they somehow have worked for me and really soften my most dry lips and also these are not very glossy or slippery, so perfect to wear under a lipstick too.
The shades I am reviewing today are Tropical Punch and Berry Sherbet.
Tropical Punch is on the pink side, but not barbie pink or neon pink, a proper true deep pink
Berry Sherbet is obviously a nice berry shade, not very deep though
Top- Berry Sherbet, Bottom- Tropical Punch
And the third variant is Spicy Cinnamon which on the brown side and the most pigmented and deepest. I would highly recommend Spicy Cinnamon for everyone with a wheatish complexion i.e. NC 40 and above. It looks beautiful on warm skin tones! You won’t feel you are wearing a lip balm coz it is almost opaque and pigmented like a lipstick.
I love both Tropical Punch and Berry Sherbet too, I am only using this when I am heading out and I don’t want to wear a lipstick. It will work for pigmented lips too unlike most sheer lip balms. It keeps the lips moisturized for 4-5 hours and then you can always re-apply. It is easy to carry and very travel friendly. I have one Maybelline Baby Lips in each of my hand bags, like literally 😀 The additional sun protection of SPF 20 is a bonus.

I have it in the shade OC30 which is the darkest in the shades available and is fortunately a perfect match for me. Most of the girls complain about the shades as ZA does not have darker shades in foundations as they are made for Asian skin, but thankfully they are going to launch special shades for India next year.
I love this small,tiny bottle packaging. It is super handy to carry, does not occupy too much space and is light unlike the glass bottles which also have a risk of breaking.
It has a nozzle tip which is the best idea. We can get the exact quantity of product required and is more precise than a pump too.
Coming to the texture, where should I start from! It is the most light weight foundation I have ever tried. It is water based and very,very light. It is runny and blends seamlessly. You will not feel you have any foundation on, since it is water based and so light.
Plus the finish is exactly how I like,soft and dewy. It gives medium coverage, so if you have any acne scars, etc, you will need a separate concealer for that as it will not cover heavy scars. But for evening out skin tone and covering redness and giving a nice,healthy, dewy looking skin, this is perfect!
I usually use tinted moisturizers on a daily basis and hardly foundations as I don’t like the heavy feel on the skin. But ever since I have got this, I am only using this whenever I am heading out.

As you can see, it has covered redness and evened out the skin tone, plus covers some amount of scars and under eye circles too.

As it has SPF17 PA++. it gives some amount of extra sun protection too. It does exactly all that it claims- the hyaluronic acid gives the skin a plump finish, the micro pearls actually give a nice glow,oil free and water based so no clogging of pores and perfect for all skin types from oily to dry.
Also it is very economical at Rs.700/- for 30ml, I have been using it since quite a lot of time and I think I still have 50% remaining. You don’t need a lot of product in one use.
Overall, I would say it is my current favourite and the most light weight foundation I have ever used. I love water based products, if you have oily skin and all foundations clog your pores, then this one is a definite try for you. And if you have dry skin and are looking for something which will give you a nice, dewy, healthy looking skin, then again this one is a definite try. Highly Recommended!

Scholl launched this new Velvet Smooth Express Pedi Electronic Foot File last year. I always thought it was a hyped product and what is so great about it and that it would never match a pedicure using various tools at a salon.
When I got a chance to try it, I was like why not, let me find out what the hype is about.
Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi comes with the main unit, attached roller head (Which can be detached/replaced), 4 AA batteries and a plastic cover for the roller head. So you just need to insert the batteries and get working, that’s it.
My feet never had much of an issue, I hardly went for pedicures as there was no dry skin or cracked heels issue for the longest time. They were always very soft and smooth and even when I went for a pedicure once in a blue moon, the attendant would be like, there is hardly any dead skin for me to work on 😀 However, after the accident and surgery, the skin had turned rough. The feet were not kept on the floor for more than 40-50 days, so there was no blood circulation and they were just straight on bed, so no blood flow downwards. The feet had a lot of dead skin and they had gone completely dry with a new layer formed on them altogether. The first thing my physio told me to do is scrub them well as the feet were slippery with that layer of skin. I scrubbed them 2-3 times in one week for the dead skin to completely go away, I wish I had this product back then, it would have helped a lot.
Coming back to today, my skin on the feet is almost back to normal. I thought this Scholl Express Pedi would not work on me as there was nothing much to come off. I tried it on the entire feet, the heels and edges, the mid portion and underneath the big toe which is usually drier. And guess what? I actually saw dead skin buffing out, the white remnants or powder you see is your dead skin coming off. When I touched my heels and toe, they were like so much smoother. I was shocked, I mean in a good way of course.
I know this looks gross, but had to show you guys it works
It actually worked! Basically, the roller head has sand paper kind of finish and the continuous rotation helps it buff the skin but without any pain. I am going to try it on my mom next coz she has very dry feet and cracked heels. I think it’s a blessing for someone with dry feet and who needs regular pedicure, this will save a lot of time and money. The best thing is it can be carried along anywhere, though it is slightly heavy.
My only issue is, I am not sure by when would the roller heads need to be changed, someone mentioned 18-19 pedicures which is decent, but it also depends on person to person and the skin I believe. The roller heads are a little expensive at Rs.799/- when you compare the discounted unit price of Rs.1749/- :p
Overall, I would say, it is definitely a must try! It does not hurt,very convenient to use and carry, a value for money at the discounted price. Highly recommended.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum comes in this long and slender aqua blue bottle with a transparent cap and a pump packaging. The pump is easy to use and dispense the product, no pressing 10 times to get the product unlike in few.
It’s a glass bottle and slightly heavy,hence not very travel friendly. Coming to the texture, it is off white in color, and gel like in texture as most serums. It feels slightly slippery but not much and gets easily absorbed into the skin, without leaving any residue or slippery feeling even though it has silicones (Dimethicone & Dimethiconol)
It is very hydrating and moisturising, my skin feels evenly hydrated and there have been no breakouts or dry patches with this. And the best part is no stickiness or greasiness at all! It is so light that you would not feel you have used any moisturizer and still have your skin completely hydrated.
It does what it claims, hydrated, plump and fresh looking skin all day. I use it once in the morning and I am sorted, I sometimes use it at night too, but currently using a different product at night time.
It does not claim much like even skin tone or anti-ageing, etc, so all it does it provide you hydration. This will work great for all skin types, be it oily or dry, since it does it’s job of hydration well and is very light in texture.
It is a bit on the expensive side, but this lasts really long as you need just one single pump for your entire face and neck. It is available online and also on www.vichy.in
Overall, I would say it is not something which makes tall claims about giving you flawless skin, but it does what it claims. So if you are looking for a good moisturiser for your dry skin or have dry patches on the skin, then this will definitely work for you. Recommended.

I have tried lots of hair serums from different brands, also the Kerastase Resistance Fibre Architecte Serum which I loved but had not tried the Elixir Ultime Oil yet. I had heard lots of good things about it and then I got the chance to try their recent new launch, the Kerastase Elixir Beautifying Oil Cream which co-incidentally came with the Elixir Ultime Classic Oil.
The Kerastase Elixir Ultime Beautifying Oil Cream comes in a long golden tube packaging, the only con with the tube packaging is one cannot know how much product is left inside.
It comes seal packed, so you can be rest assured of the product and also there is no spillage before you open and try the product, as happens with a few without the seal, being smeared all around in the cap.
It is a white colored cream, very light and runny in texture, it feels almost water based, even though it is oil based. It has very tiny shimmer particles which will be left all over your hands, after using it on the hair.
I take a tiny pea sized amount and use it from 2 inches above the roots to the tips, as mentioned. I add in extra if I feel I need more, but that is very rare.
Residue Shimmer
I love how light weight it is, that it blends seamlessly and just evaporates from the hair like you haven’t applied anything at all. I use it on still a bit damp but towel-dried hair and let it air dry naturally.
It has controlled about 90% of my frizz even in these monsoons when I face the frizz issue the most. My hair is soft and smooth to touch post drying and the tiny shimmer is what gives the hair a nice shine too.
Only caution I would like to mention is do not use too much or it weighs down the hair and gives it a wet look.
I also use it in one other way, i.e. mixing the Kerastase Beautifying Oil Cream with a little bit of Kerastase Elixir Ultime Classic Oil and then applying the combo, it works like MAGIC! Trust me, my hair feels and looks the best with this combo.

I can just say I am in LOVE with this! I absolutely love this Beautifying Oil Cream and highly recommend it!
Only con I would say is the price, it’s a bit on the higher side and the availability, it is salon-exclusive or you would get it at stand-alone Kerastase stores. But 150ml is still a very good quantity,considering most Kerastase products are 30 to 50ml for around the same price.

You know the time when you have been out in the sun for a long, long time and terrible tanned and have an important meeting or event to attend! Well, aren’t those the terrible days,especially when you have a t-shirt or hair band tan line.
Fret not, coz now we have one innovative product which can help us in such SOS cases! Today I am reviewing the new Spinz Sun-Tan Remover Instant De-Tan Cream.
You just need to use a good 9g of this product as a mask, massage it a bit on the skin in small,circular motions and keep it for about 5-10 minutes and wash off. You can use it daily too, untill your skin is completely de-tanned or may be on a regular basis if you are someone who has to be in the sun almost daily, like if you have a job that requires you to travel a lot or you are in college.
It comes in different packaging from a one time sachet to a tube. The tube has white and purple packaging. It is a thick white cream,with an artificial scent but thank goodness, it is quite mild unlike bleaches.
Bleaches are something which burn my eyes instantly and my eyes turn red, even if I have used the mildest beach and the minutest quantity. I am glad this is a ‘No Bleach’ cream, did not burn my eyes and no strong bleach smell too.
The key ingredients of this cream are milk,lemon and honey. Lemon and the lactic acid in milk are especially known to de-tan the skin. Also, honey keeps the skin pH balanced and moisturised. It is dermatologically tested and safe for all skin types.

These pics are from the first time use and I notice some brightness on the skin in one use itself, though I was not very tanned to see a major difference.
Remember, this is NOT a daily wear moisturising cream which will blend into your skin. This is a mask which needs to be washed off after 5-10 minutes and is only used in this way.
You will feel a slight tingling sensation but that is very mild.
Now my skin is such that it takes months and months for the sun tan to completely go away. I saw a marked improvement with the first use,and a little better result on the 2nd and 3rd day. I am quite happy with the product.
If you have to attend a wedding, use it some time before you get ready for the function. And you can pair you fresh de-tanned skin with a pretty anarkali or a net saree with gold eyes and fuchsia/red lips.
Few things to remember:
Do not keep it longer than 10 minutes
Do not go out in the sun immediately after using it
Do not use a face wash/soap for 6 hours

To start with, it is the most small and handy hair straightener I have come across till date, very convenient for packing along. I love the black and pink color. The plates are not too wide, so you can only cover a smaller portion of hair part by part.
I love the fact that it heats up instantly, no waiting here at all! It heats up to 210°C and there is no heat setting here,you just plug it in and start using it. The cord is long enough and the swivel head helps you work around your hair without hassles.
The ceramic plates are safe for your hair and give a smoother result. I have almost straight hair but with wavy ends, I usually need to straighten the lower half for smooth,straight looking hair.
Now this is quite small and handy and best used for daily use, when you just want to straighten your bangs or the ends like how I use it. If you have long or curly hair and want a completely straight look,this is not the product for you as that needs wider plates and more heat.

This is the ‘After Straightening’ result on me..I have used it on my lower half of the hair.
As you can see, hair is not poker straight but a lot straighter and less frizzy. I prefer the natural look it gives.
Overall I would say it is a must buy if you are in college and looking for something on a budget or need a straightener to carry with along during travels.
