Top 10 Must Try Salon Treatments in India, Prices, Details

By Archana

Am sure all of us girls pay a visit to the salon atleast monthly once. Many of us go looking for cheap packages and end up getting horrific threaded eyebrows and painful waxing. One of my friends once told me that in some salon she visited, one person waxed her left hand, second person waxed her right hand and third person did her facial, all at the same time! I was simply horrified listening to the experience. We go to a salon to pamper and relax ourself. So what’s the point of going through so much pains? Here I list down some of the best salons and the best treatments they offer. Its slightly pricier than the local salons but the experience is worth it. Read on to know the top 10 salon treatments you need to try.

1.  Enrich Salons Head Massage:

Enrich Salons offers some of the best hair services of all. The stylists are well trained and experts in their profession. Its the only salon where I loved the hair spa that I got. They also offer warm, relaxing head massages. What’s special about their head massages is that not only do they offer the regular olive oil, coconut oil head massages, but also they use special essential oils. You can choose from tea tree essential oil, rosemary, patchouli, geranium, lavender, vitamin E oil, etc, depending on your hair type and concern. I have never seen these essential oils being used for head massage in other salons. Head massage done under the hands of an expert with expert products is one of the best ways to destress and relax and also get healthy hair.

Price: Rs.525 for head massage and Rs.750 for head massage with shampooing.

2. Enrich Salons Black Masks:

One more service to try at the Enrich Salon. Believe me, they have really good interiors and decors and which help to relax immediately on entering. Also, they have a buy 1 get 1 offer every Tuesday. Their Black Masks are basically a detanning, detoxifying and brightening treatment. If you are suffering from heavy tan on face, arms, legs or feet, then this Black Mask is the perfect solution for you. The Black Mask is made with natural ingredients and the minerals present in the mask draws out oil and dirt from the face while the antioxidants energize and rejuvenate your skin. You can notice an instant detan effect. Tip: Currently, they have introduced some new services like Mango Detan and Watermelon Splash for hands and legs. 😉

Price: Rs.1200 for face and neck, Rs.900 for feet, Rs.2000 for half hands and Rs.3000 for half legs.

3. Toni & Guy Essensuals Icecream Pedicure & Manicure:

The perfect treat for summers is not only eating a tub full of icecream but also indulging yourself in these exotic icecream pedicure and manicure! The treatment consists of bath fizz bombs which instantly melts in water and soothes and cools your hands and foot. What’s more, at Essensuals, along with the icecream pedicure, you can opt in for a candle massage if you have very dry feet which need intense moisturization.

Price: Rs.900-1100

4. Toni &  Guy Essensuals Eye and Lip care:

Eyes and lips are often the most neglected parts in our face. Though we often go for facials, our eyes and lips go untreated. If you have dark circles, fine lines, dry and chapped lips, then try this Eye and Lip care treatment from Essensuals. This is especially a good treatment for software engineers as it helps to relax and soothe tired eyes as they do the massaging.

Price: around Rs.650

5. YLG Premium Coffee and Luxury Gold Waxing:

Gone are the days when waxing was a pain and just a job to be done. YLG has taken waxing to a new level by introducing luxury in it. YLG is well-known for their waxing services and they have experts in that. They offer different variants of waxing like Green Tea, Lavender, Lemon and Chocolate. Two of the notable and unique ones are the Premium Coffee Waxing and Luxury Gold Waxing. Not only are they painless and smell good, but they also offer other benefits like detanning, slowing down hair growth and giving long-lasting glow.

Price: Full Arms With Full Legs And Under Arms – Rs.599 for Premim Coffee Wax and Rs.699 for Luxury Gold wax

6. Lakme Salon Youth Infinity Sculpting Facial:

This is one of the facials which really showed long lasting effects on me. It helps to tone and firm the skin and gives a nice glow and these effects lasts for around 2-3 weeks if you take good care of your skin. The facial begins with a normal cleanser, scrub, steam and blackhead extraction. After this, the popular Lakme Youth Infinity Serum is applied and a small massager is ran over your face. This helps the serum to penetrate deeper and also tone and firm up the skin. Then a mask is applied and a gauze is placed on top of your face followed by another layer of mask application. This detailed facial lasts for around 90 minutes and you are also given a back massage. This facial is definitely recommended for those past 25 years when the skin starts showing signs of ageing.

Price: Rs.2400

7. Lakme Salon Hair Spa:

Lakme Salon offers a variety of hair spas including the popular Moroccan Oil Hair Spa. Other hair spas offered are Destress Spa, Enhance Spa and Miracle Oil Spa. Along with the hair spas, you can also opt for an extra dose of nourishment which comes as Health Boost, Silk Boost and Shimmer Boost.

Price: From Rs.1200 – Rs.2200. Boosts – Rs.400.

8. Naturals Salon Young Radiance Facial:

This is one of Naturals Salons signature facials and it lasts for 60 minutes. It detoxifies impurities and brightens up face with a nice, soft, radiant glow. You can choose an add-on mask from whitening, firming or bridal glow. The effect of the facial lasts for upto 2 weeks.

Price: Rs.1400. Masks: Rs.300, 400 and 1000.

9. Jean Claude Biguine Exfoliating Body Scrub And Nourishing Wrap:

It is a 60 minute body treatment consisting of scrub using special salt crystal exfoliation technique and thereafter a moisturizing milk is applied to your entire body to soothe your dry epidermis, leaving you hydrated and refreshed.

Price: Rs.3600

10. Warren Tricomi Skin Treatments:

The specialty of Warren Tricomi is their luxury skin treatments. It comes in different variants – Whitening treatment, hydrating rose treatment, anti-ageing treatment, purifying treatment, instance radiance, skincare with Forest Essentials, skincare with Clarins, etc. Also you can try out the Deep Conditioning Ritual by Kerastase for a luxury hair treatment.

Price: From: Rs.1500

Editor’s Note: That’s a fabulous list Archana, very helpful! I can’t wait to try some of these, ice cream pedicure sounds interesting.

Review & Experience: VanityCube Services

Review & Experience: VanityCube Services

Hey guys,

If you follow me on Snapchat (bhumika_t), you must have seen me posting a few images and videos of VanityCube services I tried 2-3 days ago.

I have tried MyGlamm, LocalOye and UrbanClap before, and now finally I tried VanityCube. If you don’t know what vanitycube is, check their website HERE. It is basically a beauty service provider where you can book a range of beauty services to be done anytime, anywhere be it work, home, etc.

Presently VanityCube is available in Mumbai and Delhi only. They have 4-5 different packages which are available at a discounted rate and much more economical and convenient.

I went with the ‘Spoil Me’ package which has Rica wax for full hands, legs and underarms, Basic Manicure and Pedicure, Threading for eyebrows and upper lips and a Lotus Herbals Facial and Face Bleach. The services separately cost Rs.3455/- but this package is available at a discounted price of Rs.2900/-

What I loved about VanityCube:

  • The attendant Fatima came 10-15 mins before the appointment time.
  • She got me a small bouquet of roses as this was my first booking with VanityCube services
  • She got her own disposable spreads, foldable stool, extension cord and all the required things. She even had a disposable gown. Earlier all the services I had tried, they would ask me for newspaper, chair, etc. and don’t even carry a disposable gown.
  • The same attendant did everything, so there was no time gap or having two attendants for different services.
  • She was very neat and tidy, was not unnecessarily chatty and quiet good with her work.
  • I informed her about the water cut from 2-5 pm and she filled the manicure-pedicure tub and whatever water she would need beforehand.
  • She was not sure of my skin type for facial and got the kits for both skin types.
  • The massage she gave during manicure-pedicure and facial was very relaxing, she knows her work really well.

What I didn’t like about VanityCube:

  • Nothing, I loved everything and I guess it’s the first time 😀

I really liked the services and how everything was done, I am sure it might somewhat differ from attendant to attendant. I am glad I got Fatima and she was fabulous.

I went with my nailpaint- Makeup Revolution Heaven’s Above

I would just like to mention that the services do take a long time, so do not go by the 180 mins mentioned, coz it took almost 5 hours for everything, so do it when you have an entire day free to yourself. Or you can always try 2-3 individual services.

I highly recommend VanityCube, it is by far the best from all the beauty services providers I have tried, also recommend going for packages as it’s more economical.

P.S: Services were offered in exchange for an honest review, but that has not affected my review, as per usual.

Have you tried any beauty services provider? What do you think of it?

L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Ritual Experiental & Vlog

L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Ritual Experiental & Vlog

Hi guys,

So a few days ago I went to the L’Oreal Academy for the L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Ritual Experiental. Let me tell you a little more about the Mythic Oil Range and the service.

Mythic Oil Range: A unique range infused with 4 precious oils to unlock the secret to that legendary hair you’ve always wanted!

Argan Oil, a deeply hydrating oil known to restore smoothness and shine

Cotton Seed Oil, an oil that helps in regeneration

Rice Bran Oil, deeply nourishes each hair strand to leave hair smooth and soft

Cranberry Oil, A precious oil with illuminating properties to enhance the radiance

Your Mythical Must-Have: Mythic Oil Rich Oil

The Mythic Oil Rich Oil is a versatile oil like no other! Try it before you shampoo, to give you that deep nourishment! Use it as a styling product for that legendary look with a magical shine or overnight for intensive nourishment.

Rich Oil is a perfect blend of the most potent oils in nature; Argan oil from the magical argan tree or “tree of life” and rice bran oil. This versatile oil is immediately absorbed for a light weight feel, leaving the hair looking deeply illuminated and magical nourishment. This Oil is sure to be your mane-favourite!

It has 8 different types of rituals which depend on the condition of your hair. Since I had travelled to Jaipur and the hard water and climate there made my hair quite dry, we went with the ‘Mythic Repair Magic‘.

Mythic Repair Magic, a deeply nourishing ritual, specially designed for repairing extremely dry and damaged hair. It gently treats the scalp and helps protect hair against frizz and also illuminates it.

Here is a small vlog of the procedure:

Coming to the procedure:

1. Usually the ritual starts with application of a mix of ‘Rich Oil’ and ‘Oil Bar’ concentrate. But since my hair was not washed 2-3 days prior, the expert first washed my hair and blow dried it, for the ritual to work better.

2. And then a mix of oils is applied on every section of the hair and the scalp.

3. Scalp is massaged for about 5 minutes.

4. Hair is washed again with the Mythic Oil Shampoo.

5. Then the mask is applied on each section of hair, which has a few drops of the ‘Rich Oil’ mixed in it.

6. It is kept for about 10-15 minutes

7. Hair is washed again but only with plain water this time.

8. Blow dried and the Rich Oil is applied towards the lower half and ends.

I absolutely loved how my hair felt post the treatment. As mentioned above due to travelling and change in climate, my hair was in the worst condition possible and very dry, it was back to normal and more softer and smoother.

Duration: Around 1-1.5 hours

Price: Rs.1000 to 1500/- depending on the salon from where you get it done.

L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Ritual is available at all major salons all over India.

Here are the ‘Before-After’ pics, ignore the half hair behind :/

The ritual is pretty economical and any salon nearby you would be doing it for about 1000 bucks, I definitely recommend getting it done once in 2 months, if you don’t have the time to get it done once in a month. It makes a huge difference to the hair.

I also got the Mythic Oil range for personal use and would review the range too after using it for about a month or so.

Have you tried the L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Range yet? Will you try this experiental?

P.S: Services were offered by the brand in exchange of review but that has not affected my opinion.

Lakme Salon Bridal Stylist Services & Luminance 3+ Ritual Experiental

Lakme Salon Bridal Stylist Services & Luminance 3+ Ritual Experiental

Hi guys,

The wedding season is here and Lakme Salon is all geared up to serve the brides, I remember last year how everything from my hair to nails to body care was taken care of at Lakme Salon.

This season they have Lakme Salon Bridal Stylists who will take care of all the needs of a bride from skin to hair to makeup. They will advice her what all services she requires or can go for, makeup for her pre-wedding functions or the wedding. Basically create a customised package as per the bride’s requirements. Check out more details at www.lakmebridalstylist.in

Here is the Bridal Takeaway Menu and Prices..

I tried one of the services as a part of the Bridal package i.e. the Luminence 3+ Ritual Facial and here is my review on it.

Luminance 3+ Ritual is meant for lightening the skin i.e. it targets pigments/scars. It is also suitable for tanned & dull skin. it gives the skin a glow which the brides need, hence the name ‘Luminence’. It gives hydrated, soft and supple skin. Pregnant ladies or person suffering from fever or anything in particular are not advised to go for it.

Steps involved:

1. Skin is cleansed at first with a foam based cleanser.

2. A creamy exfoliator is used and massaged on the skin.

3. Steam is given on the face & comedones are extracted.

4. Vitamin C concentrated serum is applied on the skin.

5. It if followed by a massage with a night cream.

6. A peel off lightening pack is applied and it is kept for 10-15 minutes till it dries.

7. A toner is applied at the end.

Duration : Around 75 minutes

Price: Around Rs.4000/-

My skin was not tanned, so no immediate difference can be seen. Skin definitely felt moisturized, soft and supple. It takes 2-3 days for the results to show and my skin looked and felt healthier in 1-2 days. Here is my ‘Before’ and next day ‘After’

Before-After

Few Dont’s:

DO NOT go out in the sun immediately post this treatment or use a lot of sunscreen if you have to.

DO NOT wash your face for 10-12 hours with anything except water.

Overall I would say I love the bridal services at Lakme Salon and definitely recommend the brides-to-be to get a package customized for themselves as per their requirements.

P.S: Service was offered in exchange of honest review but that has not affected my opinion.

Salosa.com – Beauty At Your Doorstep

Salosa.com – Beauty At Your Doorstep

Hi guys,

I know by now you have already seen 2-3 reviews of similar services that come at your home and provide you beauty services, but there is one thing that is different about Salosa.com and read on to know what.

About Salosa: Salosa.com is a platform with a vision to help women look and feel beautiful, all at their convenience. They aim to achieve this vision by providing beauty & styling services at the customer’s doorstep.

Salosa offers all kinds of beauty services (Facial, Pedicure, Manicure, etc), hair services (color, cut, care, etc.), body care (waxing, bleaching) and even makeup.

So how does Salosa work, you ask? See the pic below.

What you have to do is select an attendant you need, Male or Female and then select your area and the type of service and click on ‘Find A Stylist’. You get a list of options ranging from freelancers to chain of salons to fleet and their prices and minimum booking amount.

Here as you see I have chosen Glamsquad Beauty Services as the vendor, I feel they are reasonable and fall in between the freelancers and salons in terms of pricing.

All the stylists are trained specifically and use only branded, good quality products. They are verified and groomed before being listed on the website. And they are told to make sure that they leave the house clean after providing the services so that the customer does not have to hassle with the cleaning.

What makes Salosa different from other service providers is that they have a wide range of services and at different pricing points, unlike having a fixed list of services with specific prices. The most important point being, quality remains uncompromised.

Salosa is only available in Delhi & Gurgaon currently, I hope they expand to other cities of India soon and come to Mumbai too. I would really like to try out their services.

But if you live in Gurgaon, definitely check out Salosa.com and try out the services. More FAQ HERE.

Have you heard about Salosa.com before? Do you prefer choosing your own beauty service provider from a range of options?

The Home Salon: Review & Experience

The Home Salon: Review & Experience

Hi guys,

So a few days back, I tried out The Home Salon who provide professional salon services at your doorstep. This concept of providing beauty services at home is quite in trend these days and there are a lot of competitors in the market.

About The Home Salon: We are your beauty Santa Claus! Have you ever thought of waxing and then changed your mind because the salon was so far away? Or wanted a massage because you were tired, but too tired to travel to a spa? Do you wish beauty was at your fingertips – something so effortless & regular, it almost felt part of your routine? That’s why we exist. To remind you to feel beautiful even when you you’re down! To help you look good and take away those blues. To love yourself so you can love others! To help the world’s best manager manage herself! So curl up your legs, take a break and call us home! Allow us to indulge you in the choicest of beauty & spa therapies without having to so much as raise a finger! Watch us do our magic while you simply sip on your coffee. And better still – do this at your time and convenience!

To start with, my appointment was booked for 2 pm in the afternoon and since it was the 5th day of Ganpati Visarjan, the lady got a bit late and arrived by 2.40 which she called and informed me about. I liked the fact that I was kept informed about reaching late.

I tried the Anti-tan chocolate wax for my full arms and legs. I have tried the White Chocolate Rica wax before at Lakme Salon just before my wedding and had a very good experience with that, so I was expecting similar results. Here, the attendant was using Biosoft Chocolate Wax. It comes with pre gel and post wax lemon oil, she forgot to use the pre gel and I was informed about it later when I was called for feedback. I do have sensitive skin, especially on my arms and I had informed them before as all waxes don’t work for me. The lady while booking the appointment told me a patch test would be done and then we would proceed with the complete waxing. We started with the legs first and I don’t have an issue with the legs since the skin on the legs is usually thicker and not that sensitive.

After the waxing on my arms, I got a lot of red bumps on my entire arms and the lemon oil did not help in reducing them. My mom applied lots of ice and it was a little better but the bumps stayed for around 3 days and the skin was quite itchy too. I only get my waxing done at a particular salon where I do not get any reaction or bumps as they use a lot of astringent to close the pores. I did mention this to the attendant too hoping she would use astringent but I don’t think she was carrying anything apart from the post wax lemon oil. The lemon oil only helps in reducing the stickiness from the wax but does not do anything to close the pores.

She also asked me if I had to thread my eyebrows and since I had not got my eyebrows done since a month, I was like ok. I am very finicky about my eyebrows and I only get my extras removed as I like and prefer my thick eyebrows. I mentioned that to the attendant about 4-5 times and even while she was doing the eyebrows, but still my eyebrows from one part were made a bit thinner. I was not very happy but since it was not drastically thin, it was not looking bad.

Later on I tried the anti – tan manicure and pedicure. She had brought the pedicure tub along and all the creams, scrubs and masks that come in separate sachets i.e. the entire kit. She simultaneously did both the hands and legs and it took about a little more than an hour for both. The tan had actually reduced and my feet were looking much better. I only thought the procedure could have been a little more extensive, coz I had tried similar services with another beauty service provider where two separate persons were doing the mani- pedi and it took them a total of 3 hours! They were doing it in a more detailed way taking time on each step.

Maybelline Colorshow Molten Maroon

I went with the Maybelline ColorShow Nail Paint in Molten Maroon since it was a perfect fall color, sadly the nail paint chipped in 3 days even after two coats. Also, it has stained my nails very badly and I am trying to get rid of the stain right now. It is not the attendant’s fault of course, but I would have liked if she would have used a base coat and a top coat. Since it is a deep color, base coat would have prevented staining and a top coat would have helped the nail paint stay longer.

Also the prices for manicure and pedicure are almost the same, when usually pedicure is a little more detailed and slightly higher priced.

Prices:

De-tan full arms waxing: Rs.469

De- tan full Legs waxing: Rs.563

Anti tan Manicure: Rs.625

Anti tan Pedicure: Rs. 688

Overall I would say The Home Salon is very economically priced and offers all the beauty services at your door step, I do recommend checking them out. Only if you have sensitive skin, inform them about it and that you would need a lot of astringent. You can skip the eyebrows though if you are not comfortable. The manicure and pedicure were pretty decent too for the price, only if you need something much more detailed, then this is not for you.

Check out their services or book an appointment at www.thehomesalon.in, they are also available on apps on your Play Store.

Have you tried The Home Salon or something similar yet?

P.S: Services were offered in exchange for a honest review.

Review: AcryGel Nail Extensions at Jean Claude Biguine

Review: AcryGel Nail Extensions at Jean Claude Biguine

Hi guys,

I got Acrygel Nail Extensions on the 20th  of August at the Jean Claude Biguine Salon at R City Mall. So you must be aware of acrylic nails and gel nails, AcryGel is the perfect combination of both. While Acrylic powder makes the nails look very stiff and fake, gel nails are too soft and don’t stay long enough. Acrygel picks up the best of both the worlds, it is neither very soft and nor too stiff, feels exactly like natural nails and stays long too.

In India, only Jean Claude Biguine does Acrygel nails yet, of course this is very popular outside India, and I see other salons catching it up soon.

A nail technician at Jean Claude Biguine attended me and started with the service. I shared with her my concern that I have tried gel nails before and it completely ruined my nail bed, so I would go with extensions. She told me this won’t harm the nail bed.

Step 1: Nails are cut, filed, buffed and cuticles and pushed and cleaned exactly like in a normal manicure.

Step 2: She applied extensions on my nails with glue one by one. Extensions start from half the nail bed and not the cuticles.

Step 3: The extensions are cut according to the desired length, buffed and filed. I went with square shape as my nails never stay square and I wanted to see how it looks on me.

Step 4: Then a mix of acrylic powder and gel is applied on the nails and the nails are kept under the UV light. This is done twice.

See how they look seamless and just like original

Step 5: Nails are again buffed and they look seamless and exactly match your natural nails by now.

Step 6: You can select any polish you like and change it later but only make sure you use an acetone free nail polish remover.

I went with French manicure since it stays for a long time and minor chipping doesn’t affect much. It’s been 15 days today and my nails still look amazing! The French mani is still there and looks good. I think I will keep it for 5-6 more days before changing the polish.

The extensions stay for about 1-1.5 months and then you need to get them removed at the salon when nails are overgrown. My nails grow pretty fast and I kept the nails and extensions short purposely.

Overall I am super happy with my nails. I do my regular activity and stuff I do with my normal nails and there hasn’t been any issue at all. I would have definitely gone for this at the time of my wedding had I known this earlier!

Duration: 3 hours

Price: Rs.3500/-

I absolutely recommend Acrygel nail/nail extensions. If you are someone who just cannot grow their nails or would like to try extensions just like that, go for Acrygel ones at JCB. Also I would recommend French manicure than normal polish coz it stays forever!!

Update: 3 of my nails came off in 22 days :/ I got all of them removed yesterday i.e. the 26th day coz it was looking very uneven and bad. Also my nails have lost a layer with the glue and are very thin and brittle right now though only the front half from where the extensions started. I hope they grow quickly coz right now they are so weak that they keep bending in any activity I do and that hurts the nail bed.

Have you tried nail extensions yet? What do you think of them?

P.S: Services were provided by JCB but that has not affected my review.

MyGlamm Services: Review & Experience

MyGlamm Services: Review & Experience

For the first time in India, an incubator that helps artists to connect with potential clients is specially designed at the MyGlamm studio.

The Glamm Team that has brought you the French L’OCCITANE Spas, the New York based Warren Tricomi Salons and the fashionable ELLE Spas & Salons, are now bringing to you MyGlamm, a mobile App for on-demand hair, beauty and glamm services at your doorstep.

They are soon coming up with Android and iOS app, which will be very convenient and helpful.

More on their site here: http://myglamm.com/ or Call 1 800 3000 4526 to order a MyGlamm service.

Recently I got a chance to try out MyGlamm services and I haven’t been to a salon for any services in like ages, so I was like why not. The best part is, it is all in the comfort of your home!

I actually wanted to try a facial and I selected the Forest Essentials Facial, but later on I was informed that they don’t have the Forest Essentials facial yet and it will take 10-15 days for that. They offered me the O3+ facial but for my skin type, they suggested the Whitening Facial and I am not into whitening,so was not keen on that.

I went with a basic O3+ clean up and Spa Manicure/Pedicure. All you need to do is select the service and fix your timing and location. They call to confirm your appointment. I was told on call that the clean up and manicure would be done by the lady and the pedicure would be done by the guy, at 4 pm and 5 pm respectively.

MyGlamm is based at Lower Parel, so the artists were coming all the way from there. The lady arrived 15 minutes late and she apologized for that and it was ok since it was raining a lot that day.

She set up everything first and then started with the clean up. I saw the O3+ products used and again it was all the whitening range being used in the clean up too, the very same reason I did not go for the O3+ facial. This was only mentioned as clean up and I had not idea that it involved whitening products :/

O3+ Products used for Clean Up- Step wise Left to Right

She started with cleansing, followed with applying a microdermabrasion peel and massaged it for some time. It was followed by a steam and extracting the blackheads/whiteheads, followed by a tonic/toner. She then massaged the face, neck and shoulders with the massage cream for about 7-8 minutes and a face mask was applied at the end.

The guy had already arrived at my place while the clean up was going on, and they started with my mani-pedi while I had the mask on my face.

Pedicure Tub

I really liked the manicure/pedicure too, as it was quite detailed and nicely done. Everything from scrubbing to get rid of dead skin, cuticle cream, massage cream to foot scrub and foot mask was taken care of. I liked the fact that they had individual packs for every cream and both had a separate kit. The entire mani/pedi kit was also well arranged.

She was carrying her threading kit too and asked me if I would like to get my eyebrows done, so I thought let me just get my extra hair removed. So she did my eyebrows and upper lip too. Only thing is I got a red bump on my forehead which did not subside for 2 days :/

My hands post manicure 🙂

I was happy with the clean up and mani-pedi and could see visible results and difference. My hands and feet were quite soft and well moisturised with no trace of dead or dry skin at all.

The process of clean up and mani-pedi took a little more than 3 hours which was unexpected. I thought it would be maximum done in 2 hours.

Some things I liked:

  • The entire idea of getting the services done in the comfort of your home is quite nice, and saves a lot of time and energy.
  • Easy to book an appointment
  • The services were nicely done and I could see visible results.
  • The products used are of a very good quality.
  • Artists are well trained to ask if a customer is comfortable and how to go about things.

Some things I thought could have been better:

  • They informed me that a guy would be coming for pedicure, I believe they should have asked me if I am comfortable with a guy and should have given me an option. I would have not had a problem before, but now since I live alone, I was not the most comfortable.
  • While the lady was 15 minutes late, the guy was 15 minutes early and I was not comfortable with the idea of me being in a disposable gown inside my bedroom and an unknown guy at my place in the other room. I think he could have called before coming and accordingly come a bit later.
  • I had a fresh shoe bite and despite telling him 3-4 times, he was always touching at the same place which was quite painful.
  • If an estimate of time could have been given beforehand, coz 3 hours 15 minutes was a long time.
  • The water in the pedicure tub took a long time to heat up
  • He forgot the base coat on the toe nails.

Overall, I am quite happy with this initiative, and when MyGlamm would be available on app, it would be even more convenient. There one gets to see every artist, their experience, availability and book accordingly.

Here is the current MyGlamm services rate card:

They are priced a little more than the normal parlors, almost equal to Lakme or Enrich chain of salons. But you get to do it at your time and place.

Update: 07/02/2017- My recent experience has not been good. I am trying from the past one month to book a mani-pedi and all their spa artists are unavailable! No point of offering services if artists are not available. If you get an appointment, you may try their services or else just leave and try some other services as I would not advise waiting 1-2 months!

Have you tried any at-home salon services like this? What do you think of MyGlamm?

P.S: Services were offered by the brand but that has not affected my review.

Hi guys,

A few days ago I went to the Lakme Salon to try out the new Sculpt Look. Read all about the hair and makeup in The Sculpt Collection HERE.

There are various hairstyles and different makeup looks which form part of the Sculpt collection, it is all about the chiseled, sculpted look and a lot of contouring on the face, sharp hairstyles, etc.

You can always get it tweaked a bit according to your face shape and how you want to wear it. I loved the Marsala Stairs haircut and style, but that was something very, very sharp and the stylist Shefali told me I would need to straighten my hair all the time for the effect of the stairs to show otherwise it would not look good on me. Another option was The Pixel Bob but then again I did not want to go that short. Rest were buns which would work perfect with gowns or something Indian.

Hair

We went with the Victorian Matte look, but since I was wearing a casual tee, the bun would not have looked good and we changed that into a sculpted pony with a pouf and a lot of back combing at the front.

For the makeup, the entire face was contoured and I was given a darker, warmer base. A wash of warm gold for the eyes and inner half of the lower lashline. The very long winged eyeliner did not work for my face, so we went with kitten flick and kept the lips matte and dark too.

A closer look at the makeup

For the lips, Pallavi used the new Lakme Absolute Sculpt Matte lipstick in ‘Pink Me Up‘ and applied it with a brush, giving the lips a perfect sculpted shape.

Since the lights at the salon were bright and yellow, colors appear a bit different.
