Its a small blue genie bottle shaped packaging. At first, you would think it would have a dropper pipette which oils and serums usually have. But no! Its a roll on. Yes, the first oil serum I have seen in a roll on form. And what an idea! I love it. It perfectly fits into the contours of the under eyes where we apply the creams,etc for dark circles.
I think the packaging is genius. And this makes it travel friendly too. I don’t have too many dark circles to begin with. So I did not see a dramatic result as such, but definitely some improvement. And also the skin stays supple and no dryness around the eyes. Oils are always welcome in winters for me. And this too smells awesome!

I love using facial oils i.e. a mix of essential oils or herbs,etc. I had heard a lot about Kumkumadi Tailam which is an old ayurvedic preparation and many brands have their own version of it. It is basically sold in almost every store down south.
I tried this Iraya Kumkumadi facial oil and here are my views on it.
It comes in a small blue tinted glass bottle with a dropper packaging. I have been using this every night since a little more than 2 weeks now, around 3 weeks.
It does not have a strong or pungent smell as I had heard with other Kumkumadi oils. Its almost transparent with a slight brown tint. You need just 2-3 drops of it. I warm it well by rubbing on my palms and fingers and massage on my face for about a minute.
After the Parachute Art of Oiling event, we learnt some new facial and head massage techniques. I used to do 1-2 of those for a few seconds every night with this oil.
The oil gets absorbed quickly, there is hardly anything left after the massage. Next morning skin is supple and soft. Not one morning I have seen dry or flaky skin after waking up, even in this winters, thanks to this oil.
I have combination skin and dry cheeks and more so in winters, but this time I got no flaky or dull skin.
I got one pimple just 10 days before the wedding which left a scar, but with regular use of this oil, it faded by 50-60% in a week or so.
I am going to continue using this especially all winters. I think this is the only product I would need at night during winters and I am sorted. No need of any other serums or night creams.
For summers if you live in a humid place, this might be tad bit oily. Also, for day time use, just use a drop, you can use 2-3 drops during night time.
I recommend this for oily skin too, can be used at night. It’s a myth that oily skin should not use facial oils. Facial oils are very very good and beneficial.
Overall, I would say its a must try. Since you need just 2-3 drops, 10 ml would last a long time and justifies the price tag too. Highly recommended! Only Iraya is not available everywhere is an issue. But online shopping has eased our lives.

HOME REMEDIES:
1) Dark circles: To conceal the dark circles quickly make a paste of 1 tsp milk powder, 1⁄2 tsp curd, 2 drops of lemon juice and 2 drops of honey. Apply the paste on the dark circles. Wait for 10- 15 minutes and wash it off with cold water.
2) Puffiness around the eyes : The major reasons for puffiness around the eyes are fluid retention, inadequate sleep, allergies and of course heredity. But it can be reduced considerably. As a quick fix for it wrap an ice cube in a soft cloth and apply to the under eye area for 5 minutes to reduce the swelling. You will see an immediate improvement. The other things that help in reducing the swelling are chilled gel masks, cucumber slices and cool damp cloth.
3) Dry lips: Put a thin film of moisturizer before applying the gloss. And apply a thick coat of gloss to hide the chapped lips.
4) Frizzy hair: Before washing your hair apply coconut milk, made from fresh grated coconut and leave it on your hair for 2 hours. This acts as a conditioner. Oiling the hair often also helps in making the hair less frizzy. Use anti- frizz serum on the hair just before you leave home.
5) Open pores or to tighten the skin: Use 2 egg whites. Whisk them till you get peaks. Add 2 drops of honey to this and spread over face and neck. Leave it on for 20 minutes and wash it off.
6) Ageing hands: Remember to use a thin film of a foundation or concealer on the hands after doing your face. Hands always give the age.
7) Dry skin on the hands, around the nail cuticles and feet: Dry skin is a condition where skin loses its oiliness and it can be because of soaps, weather , heredity etc. It is very important to take care of the dryness because it can turn into deep cuts and hurt especially on the heels. The quick fix that you can try is mixing some milk cream with honey and massage for 20 minutes on all the dry areas. And after massaging wash it off with a mild soap.
MEDICAL QUICK FIXES:
Before we begin, do remember to only visit a trained and experienced doctor. It is of utmost importance that the medical practioner that you choose be well trained and adept in his/her field of work.
1) Acne scars: Under the advice of a doctor a mild microdermabrasion (skin polishing) or a very mild lactic acid peel done just once can lighten the marks. The marks can then be concealed with a concealer. Always use a concealer which is water resistant.
2) Brittle nails: If you have brittle or short nails you can experiment with acrylic nails or gel nails.
3) Fillers: A little dermal ( skin) filler in the laugh lines and the droop of the mouth will freshen it immediately giving you a much younger look.
4) Botox: Again by a trained doctor, does wonders in eliminating lines and freshening your looks.
5) Skin Boosters: Skin boosters like Restylane Vital work wonders in nourishing and hydrating tired, parched skin from within. It also minimizes the effects of photo damage. It is a clear gel that is injected just under the skin in small quantities to help it regain any lost volume, moisture and structure.
6) Skin tightening: Treatments like thermage ( heat being used to repair collagen and promote its growth). Non- surgical facelifts also show instant results.
7) Peels : Certain non- peeling peels like lactic acid peel give a fresh look in no time and as they are non-peeling they do not require any downtime either.

If the rash has no pus, use desonide lotion on it just for one night. Take an allergy tablet like Allegra once a day. If there is pus in the pimple, use a dot of ‘multani mitti’ (fuller’s earth) on it overnight.

Steps:
1. At first, the skin is cleansed with Remy Laure Cleansing Foam.
2. Next a toner is applied.
3. It is followed by the Remy Laure Peeling Cream which is the main product of this facial. It is kept for 3 minutes and it dries within 2-3 minutes, then it is scraped off with fingers part by part. (Hence the name Dry Scrub)
4. It is followed by a serum and a brightening cream.
5. Then the skin is massaged with a massage balm for about 15 minutes. (The best part. It was really relaxing)
6. Massage is followed with the Vitamin C brightening peel-off mask. A thick layer of the mask is applied which peels off completely in the exact shape of the mask when dried. (I hope you are getting it)
7. Followed by the serum and brightening cream again.
8. At last, a sunscreen is applied.
Cost: Rs.4500/-
Duration: 1 hour
Precautions:
Avoid splashing hot water for 12 hours
Wear a sunscreen regularly for 3-4 days
Result: I saw instant reduction in my tanning and my skin was back to normal tone. After 2-3 days I saw more obvious and visible difference. Also the skin felt soft and smooth, the dead skin cells and dry patches were gone. I won’t say I saw magical results but skin definitely felt amazing.
Overall I would say its the perfect facial if you want to get rid of your tan and do not have the time for herbal and natural remedies to work (as they take their own sweet time) I get tanned very very easily and it takes ages for me to get rid of my tan the natural way. Since I am getting married in 8 days and do not have the time to wait for the skin to detan, this was just perfect! I know its on the expensive side,but if its an important event/function, this is worth investing. Recommended!

A recent global study conducted on ageing skin proves that women today are ageing faster than the past generations. Indian dermatologist Dr. Nina Madnani, renowned Consultant in Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine talks about it here keeping the Indian women skin in picture.
Women today experience skin ageing faster than women in past generations!
Modern women today face a myriad of increasing stresses that not only have an impact on their health and overall well-being, but can take its toll on skin. From physical stress arising from less sleep, an increasing amount of sugar in our diets and rising pollution levels; to emotional and mental stress faced in everyday life; these stresses shift the optimal balance that enables us to look and feel our best.
Rising emotional stress
With the rise of globalization, increasing urbanization and economic pressures, comes an upsurge in stress levels. A recent study conducted by Olay reveals, Emotional stress from work, finance or relationships, have recently been found to have significant physiological effects on skin. The increasing amount of stress faced is so prevalent that an emerging specialty known as psychodermatology, which focuses on the psychological components of what causes skin to look poorly has arisen.
It was found that psychological stress can go as far as to weaken one’s skin barrier function allowing more irritants, allergens and infectious agents to penetrate the skin and cause problems, as well as shortens the molecular countdown mechanism in our cells and may explain how stress causes us to age more quickly.
According to Dr. Nina Madnani P&G Dermatologist says, “A modern day life with its multitude of stresses has a significant role to play in the rapid ageing of the skin. There is a presence of Properdin or factor P which is stress induced and often occurs during anxiety or a stressful situation. Properdin is known to play a role in tissue inflammation which can be caused due to rising levels of stress. Not many people are aware but your stress levels have a direct impact on your skin.
Early signs of aging such as dark circles, dull, blotchy skin with freckles or lentigenes, are evident as early as the late teens and early twenties. Hence skin care as a preventive measure should start in the 20s with products which contain Vit C, anti-inflammatory agents like niacinamide, sunscreens. Products containing retinol, CoQ10, Alfa-hydroxy acids, etc can be added, followed by peptides, and introduction of procedures. Changing lifestyles and increased physical stress
On top of mental and emotional stress, the impact of physical stress in the form of UV exposure, cigarette smoke, pollution and poor dietary choices have all long been proven to have a direct biological impact on our skin. And changing lifestyle trends are contributing to an increase in physical stress in modern society.
1. Less sleep
Firstly, the lack of sufficient sleep as a result of an ‘always-on’ culture can affect one’s appearance. A poll conducted in the US found that 95% of respondents use some type of electronics at least a few nights a week in the hour before bed. This ‘always-on’ culture that comes with the proliferation of digital screens in our daily lives has a tangible effect on our bodies: The light exposure has the effect of suppressing melatonin, the hormone which helps promote sleep.
This can result in people getting less sleep than they need. A study in the US found that sleep duration in adults adolescents had decreased by 1-2 hours per night. But how does this affect our appearance and skin? It’s intuitive that sleep deprivation affects our appearance. Studies have shown that sleep-deprived people are in fact perceived as less healthy and less attractive. Further research has revealed sleep deprivation can weaken the skin barrier and slow its ability to renew itself.
Dr. Nina Madnani adds perspective on the research, “Modern lifestyles have deprived women of sleep. The sleep patterns have been altered, further leading to hormonal imbalance. Your skin needs certain amount of sleep because sleep acts as a recovery phase from all the stress during the day. The “pores” on the skin are actually the openings of pilo-sebaceous follicles which self-cleanse. In order to de-stress the skin, there are specialized creams which work at different levels, and need to be in contact with the skin for several hours without being affected with sweating etc. hence at night when the application is done on a cleansed face, the cream serves to be more effective.”

To understand what sugar does to our skin, we need look no further than coffee and the process of caramelization. Coffee beans start off fresh and green, but when heat is applied, they gradually turn brown and take on complex aromas. This is due to the small amounts of sugar present in the coffee beans are being transformed in a chemical process known as glycation.
Glycation also takes place in our skin, although in ways that do not require heat. As a result of the reaction between sugar and the proteins in our skin, Advanced Glycosylation End products (AGEs) are formed. The more sugar is present, the more AGEs are formed. Unlike the flavor enriching process that chefs strive to achieve with food, AGEs are largely unwelcome: They cause our skin to stiffen and even take on a yellowish hue. In other words, glycation is a significant cause of skin ageing.

It is well known that air pollution is a source of free radicals that damage our skin cells and ultimately age our skin. I am 26 and soon would be turning 27 in one and a half month. I think its better to start taking care of your skin and include an anti-ageing regime also in your skincare as soon as possible. These factors stated above are definitely more rampant these days, and were not much of an issue in the previous days. Women are surely ageing faster and I believe prevention is better than cure. In terms of ageing skin, there is no cure as such except for botox or those chemical treatments. I would be including Olay regime in my skincare soon.

I wish the Sebastian Potion 9 was 2 sachets and the Estee Lauder serum either a slightly bigger sample or more sachets. I am happy with the Clinique and H2O+ sample sizes and that tattoo looks super!
I did not get one sample but since it was a sachet, its fine. I wish that was a bigger size too!
The box also had L’Occitane Spa La Vie Credit coupon of Rs.1000/- and an Estee Lauder card to learn one of their 6 tricks and maybe get a sample (if available) at any of their counters. Would try to find an Estee Lauder counter and would update you guys.
Overall, there are 1-2 hits in the box this time. I was expecting much more. Perhaps even a surprise little piece of jewellery or something. Vogue could have added a magazine subscription or something on their behalf too!

WHAT IT DOES: Keeps skin feeling moisturized while removing excess oil and dirt from pores.
HOW TO USE
1) Apply appropriate amount on dry face. If too dry, use a tiny bit of water to spread cleanser evenly on entire face. Wash off with lukewarm water after 3~5 minutes.
2) After removing makeup, wet face. Massage a small amount of cleansing foam into creamy foam to remove excess makeup. Wash off with lukewarm water.
I like the fact that it acts both as a cleanser and mask. I know the spider and pig collagen extract does not sound good :/ But the Koreans and Chinese have the best skin in the world, all these weird things should be the secret. Definitely want to try this first :p

I think this box is perfect for people with oily skin or pore issues. So many products with volcanic ash, clay, charcoal and for deep cleansing. Its like a DIY clean up at home. Definitely recommend this box!

The moisturizer from this ZA Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream also won the Elle Beauty Awards 2014 in the category of Anti-aging moisturizer.
I have used the True White Range before, and now tried this Perfect Solution range. Since this is more anti-ageing, I was not really sure if it would show any difference on me. I thought let me give it a try and then I would even make my mom and sister in law try it.
I started using it at night since its rich in texture, I thought it would be very heavy for daytime. I absolutely loved how my face looked the next morning. Smoother and softer and very fresh and clear. no oiliness or greasiness.
It is an off white colored cream,rich in texture and does feel heavy if more qty is used. Otherwise it settles in a few minutes, but one can feel the skin tightening immediately.
I have combination skin and dry cheeks basically, so concentrate more on using it in that area. Slowly I started using it during day time too. You know how you have dry patches at times and those show more when you apply makeup, making the base look patchy. This would solve your problem! Gives intense moisturisation to the skin, no dry patches. But I use it sparingly in a lesser quantity during the day,especially if I have to go out since Mumbai is a very humid city.
It comes with a small white spatula which makes it easy to remove the product and one need not dip fingers in it, hygienic! The quantity of 40g lasts a long long time. I used it, my mom and sister in law used it, still there is more than half yet left since you do not need much.
Mom is in her early 50’s and sister in law in 30’s. Both saw visible results with it, you can feel the skin tightening immediately and can see the skin being smoother and softer with some difference in lines when used continuously.
I would highly recommend this for dry skin or people just touching 30’s, this is an perfect moisturizer to use. Would recommend oily skin to try the EBA Winner Moisturizer which is in liquid form. I am going to continue using it at night especially since winters are setting in.
