Clean & Clear Natural Bright Face Wash Review

Clean & Clear Natural Bright Face Wash Review

Hi guys,

If you follow my blog, you know I love quite a few Clean & Clear products especially face washes. See all the reviews HERE

They have launched a new variant in face wash, which is Natural Bright. If you follow me on Snapchat (bhumika_t), you must have already seen this and I have been testing this out since the past few days.

CLEAN & CLEAR® Natural Bright is designed for young skin problems, to gently reveal your natural brightness

Recommended for: Teenagers and young adults, who want their skin to look gorgeous and naturally bright.

How It Works: CLEAN & CLEAR® Natural Bright has a double action effect on your skin which helps clear skin problems. The rose water in the face wash helps wash away the dullness caused by impurities in the skin and natural honey with glycerin helps nourish your skin and help it achieve a natural glow that you will love

Directions: Apply a small amount on wet palm. Work it into a rich lather. Gently massage onto face, taking care to avoid contact with the eye area. Rinse off thoroughly. Use twice daily for skin that’s clean, clear and beautiful.

Ingredients: Water,Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Glucoside, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance, Tetrasodium, EDTA, Capryloyl Glycine, 0-Cymen-5-ol, Sodium Benzotriazolyl Buytylphenol Sulfate, Sarcosine, Honey, Sodium Hydroxide, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Cinnamomum Zeylancium Bark Extract, Cl 14700, Cl 17200, Potassium Sorbate

MRP: INR 110 for 100ml

It comes in their usual slightly curved packaging with a blue flip cap. I love the light rosy pink tint it has and the bubbles make it look more vivid. It smells absolutely amazing, of roses. Not like artificial rose scent, but a very soft British Rose kind of scent.

It’s neither thick nor very runny and in gel form, which is what I prefer in face washes. It doesn’t foam much and hence doesn’t strip off moisture from the skin. In fact, the rose water and natural honey combination leave the skin moisturized enough and your skin will not crave for a moisturiser immediately.

Glycerin adds to the moisture and cinnamon bark helps fight acne and acne scars.

It removes dirt and grime and even basic makeup and leaves the skin squeaky clean and fresh. Natural brightness of the skin gets hidden coz of the dirt and impurities through the day, this face wash helps in getting rid of all that leaving the skin brighter and glowing.

If you have oily skin, I would suggest going with the Foaming One and if you have normal to dry skin, you will love this new Natural Bright face wash.

Best part about Clean & Clear face washes is they are very affordable and easily available.

I tried the all new Clean & Clear Natural Bright face wash in association with BlogAdda, com. If you want to reveal your natural brightness you can buy it HERE

Dabur Active Blood Purifier Review

Dabur Active Blood Purifier Review

By Archana

Hi all,

Today’s review is on a slightly different product, not the regular skincare and haircare stuff. Its a health supplement which helps in giving clear and glowing skin. Dabur is a trusted brand when it comes to health and personal care products. And this new product by them claims for “a pimple free skin with natural glow” in just 7 days! Naturally, I was intrigued by this claim and bought the product blindly. Read on to know whether Dabur Active Blood Purifier satisfies its claims or not.

Products claims: Dabur Active Blood Purifier purifies blood to give you pimple free skin with natural glow. Its natural formulation works from inside to purify blood and attacks bacteria so that the blood gets purified and there is improvement in pimples or other skin ailments.

• It promises start of action within 7 days

• Prevents recurrence of pimples

• Pimple free skin with natural glow

• Goodness of Honey for excellent taste

• Safe & effective

Price and quantity: Rs.95 for 200ml (Buy HERE for Rs.80)

Key Ingredients:

Manjistha: It is beneficial for skin health. It acts as a rejuvenator and has inflammatory and analgesic properties.

Khadira: Known for its blood purification properties. The name Khadira literally translates to the one that destroys disease and brings stability to the body.

Shveta Sariva, Nimba, Madhusnuhi, Haridra, Guduchi and Madhu.

Directions to use: (Adults) 2 tablespoonful (10ml) twice daily or as directed by the physician.

Packaging:

The syrup comes in a glass bottle with a metal screw lid. The bottle is housed in an outer carton which details all about the product. I wish there was a measuring cap with it so that we can measure 10ml. The packaging comes in 2 sizes – 100ml and 200ml.

Texture and fragrance:

The syrup is dark brown in color and resembles a cough syrup. It has a herbal fragrance mixed with honey which is soothing to the senses.

My experience:

I started drinking this syrup twice daily – once in the morning and once in the evening. I drank it before having breakfast or dinner on an empty stomach for more effective results. The taste is little herbal and little sweet due to the presence of honey. It tastes very much like the Himalaya cough syrup. Unlike other health supplements which I had to force down my throat, I actually liked this taste and am glad that they have added honey. As without honey, am sure it will taste horrible. At the time I started drinking this, I was suffering from heavy acne, dryness and pigmentation issue. Which was why I bought this in the first place. I was waiting for 7 days as mentioned. But I couldn’t notice any effect at all. I mean no effect, nothing and nothing at all. I waited 10 days. Still no results. I was totally disappointed. I thought just drinking Patanjali Amla Juice would be more effective than this as I have done in the past. But Patanjali Amla Juice has a very bitter taste and I had to force myself to drink it everyday.

After 10 days, I gave up hope and was simply drinking to finish the bottle. By the end of the month, I could see my pimples clearing up. Maybe you can argue the pimples cleared up on its own and its not the effect of the product. But unlike usual times, this time the pimples didn’t leave behind any marks or scars. And I could also see a nice healthy glow in my skin. Similar to the effect I got with Patanjali Amla Juice. Also, I used to face regular acidity and gastric problems. But after a month of drinking Dabur Active Blood Purifier, they reduced. In my opinion the product works, but it takes more time and is slower than similar products. But it tastes better.

Pros:

* Nice sweet taste due to the presence of honey.

* Easy to drink.

* With regular use, gives natural glowing skin.

* Pimples are cleared without leaving behind any marks.

* Reduces acidity and gastric problems.

* Impressive ingredients list.

* Affordable.

Cons:

* Takes time to show results.

Rating: 4.5/5

Verdict: Overall, Dabur Active Blood Purifier is a good health supplement for clear and glowing skin. And also for general health and wellbeing. Unlike other health supplements, it tastes good due to addition of honey. It takes time to show results but is worth the wait.

Biotique Bio Wheat Germ Youthful Nourishing Night Cream Review

Biotique Bio Wheat Germ Youthful Nourishing Night Cream Review

By Archana

Hi all,

Today I am reviewing the night cream from Biotique’s Anti Ageing Skin care routine – Biotique Bio Wheat Germ Youthful Nourishing Night Cream. This night cream is especially formulated to keep your skin youthful and prevent ageing. Let’s move on to the review and see whether it fulfills its claims.

Products claims: Wheat Germ Oil is one of the most sensitive oils in the botanical world, a natural antioxidant with more Vitamin E than any other natural oil. This rich-feeling, firming cream is blended with pure wheat germ, sunflower and almond oils, vitamins A, B, C, D, E and extracts of carrot and galangal to moisturize and strengthen skin for a more vital, resilient, younger appearance.

Ingredients: Ankurit Genhun Seed – 5%, Gajar Seed – 1%, Badam Oil – 1%, Kulanjan Rhizome – 0.25%, Khubani Seed Oil – 0.5%, Sunflower oil – 2.5%, Purified Water – Q.S

Directions to use: Gently smooth over cleansed face with upward strokes, night.

Price and quantity: Rs.230 for 50g (Buy HERE)

Packaging: The night cream comes in a simple, white plastic tub with a green screw-on lid. The tub is housed inside an outer carton. All the product details are listed on the carton. If you wish to travel with it, you can discard the carton and carry only the tub as it will be compact.

Texture and fragrance: The cream is white in color with a whipped, smooth cream like consistency. It has a mild fragrance, almost unnoticeable.

My experience: I have been using this night cream along with the other products from the same range – the serum and day cream. This night cream has a very smooth texture and on applying it takes a while to get absorbed. I need to massage for a couple of minutes for the cream to sink in completely. Which is how I feel a night cream should be. It should have a massagable consistency as a little massage every night can improve blood circulation and firm the skin.

There was no immediate results I could observe on the first few days. But after 2-3 weeks, I can feel my skin is more nourished, smooth and healthy. It has plumped up my skin and made it younger and soft. I had some fine lines on my forehead. It has helped to smooth them out. Though they haven't vanished completely. I think it might take two more tubs to completely erase them.

The cream majorly contains wheatgerm oil which is perfect for sensitive skin. I haven’t faced any breakouts while using this cream. I also observed that it helps to soothe sunburns and redness and irritations.

Though, its an anti-ageing cream, it doesn’t mean only ageing people need to use it. The cream can be used by any age group to keep the skin youthful and prevent ageing.

Pros:

* Nice, smooth, massageable consistency for a night cream.

* Nourishes the skin from deep within.

* Makes skin soft, smooth and healthy.

* Plumps up skin and makes it youthful.

* Doesn’t cause breakouts.

* Soothes sunburns, redness and irritations.

* Affordable.

Cons:

* Might not suit very acne-prone skin.

Rating: 4.3/5

Verdict: Overall, Biotique Bio Wheat Germ Youthful Nourishing Night Cream is a good, affordable night cream to keep your skin youthful and prevent signs of ageing. It takes time to show results but being an ayurvedic product it is safe and works well in the long run.

Editor’s Note: This sounds good for winters.

Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel Review, How to Use

Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel Review, How to Use

By Sanchita

INTRODUCTION – Hello everyone. This is probably one of the bestselling product from the brand and used by every skin. One of the disadvantages of having an oily skin is that you have to prevent making it oily while moisturizing it. This is because the oiliness often leads to severe breakouts. My skin is both oily and acne prone. Having used this Aloe Vera Gel for a year now, I can surely say it has worked for me here is my detailed review on the product.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Aloe Vera Gel for natural beauty, safety and useful for removal of pigmented spots.

Ingredients– Aloe Vera 90% W/V, Base Material – Q.S., Permitted Colours – Tartazine Yellow and Brilliant blue, Vitamin E, Fragrance and Preservatives Q.S.

PRICE – 75 INR for 150ml

MY REVIEW

The Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel comes in a transparent plushy tube with an orange flip open cap. The transparent tube enables you to see through how much product is left on the tube. It is also available in a smaller pack but the bigger tube is better if you ask me. The packaging is simple and nice and I have travelled with this tube for a number of occasions and it has never disappointed me at all. The aloe vera gel has the consistency of a clear gel with a greenish tinge in it, thanks to the use of colors (see the ingredients). I feel the addition of colors were absolutely unnecessary because we all are aware of the fact that raw aloe vera gel is itself clear and thus green color was of no use. The product has a faint aloe vera smell with a refreshing aroma but it is not going to irritate the nasal senses at all. Even on the skin, it stays for an hour or half and then fades off.

You require a very less amount of product and only a pea size amount will surely suffice for face and neck. The product has a slimy texture in a gel form and spreads well on the surface of the face. Initially, for about 2-3mins you will feel as if it is slimy and sticky on the skin but after that time, it gets completely absorbed into the skin, with a satin matte finish and yet hydrating at the same time. It gives a soothing and cool sensation to the skin right after you apply. Thus, it is a great product when the skin is literally scorched after being in long hours under direct sun.

Around the staring of 2015, I faced severe acne problem and had to visit a dermatologist. I was strictly directed not to use any kind of product except for the medicines he gave me. Now, funny part is after having those medicines they dried my skin like parched land and my skin felt stretchy and dull all the time. I was little afraid of using any moisturizer but on a suggestion from a friend, I started using the Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel. To my surprise, it never broke my skin out even after a year and half. It hydrates my oily skin, prevents the acne and works very well before applying makeup as well. However, it doesn’t cures acne or any kind of skin pigmentation. I do suffer from slight pigmentation around the mouth but it is still persistent and the aloe vera gel didn’t do anything about it. For winters, I add 2-3drops of vitamin E oil or any facial oil with it and massage onto the skin.

You can also use this gel for massaging the skin. Since it remains slimy for some time, massaging the skin increases the blood circulation and gives a natural radiance to the skin. I have also used the Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel for under eyes as I have dry eye area. It nicely hydrates the area but only for around 2-3hours and then you have to really it again. For oily eyelids, it is a great option. You can use the Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel for body lotion when you don’t want anything too hydrating. Just make sure not to step out of the house without sunscreen for face and body.

WHAT I LIKED

1. Nice and hygienic packaging.

2. Gel form and gets readily absorbed.

3. Works for every skin type.

4. Prevents acne.

5. Cools down the sunburnt skin.

6. Hydrates the skin without making it oily.

7. Reasonable price tag.

8. No availability issues.

WHAT I DISLIKED

1. Does no enhancement to the texture of the skin.

2. No effect on pigmentation.

3. Added colors.

RATING – 4/5

Quality: 3.5/5

Value for money: 4.5/5

Availability: 5/5

OVERALL – All in all, Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel gave me a good experience for an inexpensive face moisturizer, body lotion and massage gel and I am really happy with the way it has worked for my skin. It is also available very easily now.

Patanjali Body Ubtan Review

Patanjali Body Ubtan Review

By Nidhal

There are few things as nourishing, relaxing and advantageous for your skin as slathering a rich blend of all-natural ingredients on one’s skin. Nuts ,fruits, herbs… all finely powdered to form an aromatic blend of ‘Ubtan’ is a treat for one’s skin. Not only is one’s skin deep cleansed but also the layer of dead skin cells is exfoliated. Expectations certainly skyrocket when an all-natural Ubtan comes from Patanajali- Baba Ramdev’s pharmacy. It goes without saying that I will review PATANJALI BODY UBTAN today and let you know how it fared for me.

PRICE- Rs 60/- for 100g

DIRECTIONS FOR USE– Add sufficient quantity of water to 20-30 g of Body Ubtan to make a consistent paste. Apply on body. Massage gently. Rinse off with water.

INGREDIENTS- Chironji, red lentil, black gram, barley, mustard seeds, soybean, rice, almond, turmeric and camphor.

WHAT IT CLAIMS- Enhances fairness, imparts glow to skin, reduces dark spots and blemishes.

MY EXPEREINCE-

Packed in a simple plastic pack, Patanjali Body Ubtan’s packaging is somewhat disappointing. Why? Once cut open, the contents need to be transferred to a container because 100 g cannot be used in one go. Storing it in the pack in which it comes makes it prone to contamination as well as spillage. While the argument that it costs merely Rs 60/- per pack which is dirt cheap is admissible yet the provision of a zipper pack would have altogether eliminated all these woes once and for all. Hence, there is room for improvement as far as packaging is concerned.

The ubtan is predominantly fine with few coarse granules. They aren’t harsh or abrasive. So, do not fret that your skin will redden on slathering/massaging it. I think it can be conveniently mixed with rose water, raw milk ,curd or any base ingredient for that matter. Adding water is a mere recommendation for the producers which I followed. The paste so obtained has a pleasant and not overpowering aroma. I have used it a number of times and even if kept for more than half an hour, it does not stain your face yellow.

The presence of slightly coarse granules facilitate scrubbing and aid removal of dead skin cells’ layers. Upon removal, my skin looks squeaky clean, deeply cleansed and radiant. It does not suck moisture off one’s skin and that spells cheer for those with dry/excessively dry skin. I can’t comment on its efficacy or the lack of it when it comes to oil removal for oily/excessively oily skin type. Mine is dry and it hasn’t made my skin dry post wash ever. That said, it doesn’t even moisturise it either which I have no issues with because it doesn’t claim to do so.

I find it suitable for use by all skin types. If you are on a shoestring budget, grabbing a few packets of this won’t even pinch you. This one’s a good investment in my humble opinion 🙂

GOOD-

1. Budget-friendly

2. Readily available

3. Deep cleanses skin

4. Does not suck moisture hence, apt for dry and extremely dry skin types

5. Imparts radiance and NOT fairness which is plausible

6. Imparts a squeaky clean feel

7. All-natural composition

8. Apt for use by all skin types

BAD-

1. Packaging needs to be revamped.

RATING-4.5/5

Editor’s Note: This sounds very good Nidhal, definitely in my Patanjali haul list.

Himalaya Herbals Foot Care Cream Review

Himalaya Herbals Foot Care Cream Review

By Nidhal

Chances are your feet would be the most ignored parts of your body and you’d know of it already. Spare a thought for them. You wake in the morning, head to work, slog yourself all day, head back home all tired and drained and if there is a wee bit of energy left, you’d spruce up your face and neck and hit the pillow. But what about your feet? Once glance at them and in all probability, you’d throw your hands up in the air and disown them for their hideous semblance 😛 Won’t you?

Cracked feet is one woe that makes us regret not paying heed to our feet but wait, do not fret. There is still time, to turn the clock back. How? Well, Himalaya Hebals is here with its Foot care cream to allay this problem of yours. Let’s see how Himalaya Herbals Foot care cream fared for me

PRICE- Rs 95/- for 50 g

DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Wash your feet with lukewarm water and a soap-free cleanser. Pat dry. Apply Himalaya herbals foot care cream over them. Massage gently and allow it to dry. Repeat twice daily once after bathing and once before bedtime. Consult your doctor if you are a diabetic with any inflammation or irritation on your feet.

INGREDIENTS- Each gram contains Madhu (honey) 12 mg, Extracts of Haridra 9curcuma longa) 11 mg, Salarasa (shorea robusta) 9 mg, sunthi (zingiber officinale) 9 mg, methi (trigonella foenum- graceum) 9 mg

Key ingredients:

Sal Tree extract is used as an ingredient in ointments for skin diseases and in ear medicines. Its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties help heal cracked heels.

Honey, with its bactericidal and antiseptic properties, is extremely important in Ayurveda. Used in a variety of medicines, honey is also an effective moisturizing agent.

Turmeric has been used as an antiseptic for centuries. The herb also contains strong anti-inflammatory properties, which soothe your feet gently.

Fenugreek has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicines and is an excellent moisturizer, specially formulated to hydrate dry skin. Applied externally, the herb is also beneficial for boils, abscesses and ulcers.

Ginger is used externally as a local circulatory stimulant which keeps the feet warm, preventing the skin from cracking due to the cold.

INACTIVES– Methylparaben IP, propylparaben IP, Bronopol IP.

WHAT IT CLAIMS- Himalaya’s Foot Care Cream cares for your cracked heels and rough feet with natural ingredients. Enriched with the goodness of Honey, Turmeric, Fenugreek seeds and Sal Tree extract, this cream leaves your feet feeling soft in one week.

MY EXPERIENCE-

Packed in a simple plastic tube with a cap on top, the packaging of Himalaya herbals foot care cream is simple and hygienic to use. Despite regular use, the cap did not lose its grip which is appreciable. In a nutshell, it is up to the mark in terms of packaging. Nothing to go gaga over but nothing to criticize as well!

The cream has a slightly thick texture with a pleasant (herbal) fragrance. It is not too strong or long-lasting so, those who have a sensitive nose or dislike its fragrance, need not bother. It won’t last long. The cream spreads conveniently on one’s heels and with a little massage for 5 minutes, it seeps well into the skin. One or two uses won’t throw any significant results but dedicated use for a week will render you with softened heels. My heels were a little cracked and they were ‘healed’ (pun absolutely intended) in that time frame completely. I used it twice a day- once after having a bath and once during bedtime. I am quite sure that given its efficacy, it is capable of healing heels that are much more cracked than mine. Of course those with really cracked heels, need to give it more time. You damaged it in the first place, now give it some tender love and care too 

On the flip side, it has parabens so, I won’t use it after it cures my cracked heels. This is effective as a ‘remedy’ but to me, not as a permanent beauty treatment. I’d rather stick with my oil blend once my feet are cured. How thankless of me!

GOOD-

1. Does what it claims to that is, heel cracked feet.

2. Readily available

3. Economical pricing

4. Travel-friendly

5. Mild aroma which won’t exasperate those not fond of products laced with fragrance

BAD-

1. Contains parabens, so it won’t be a “long-lasting” beauty fix. At best, use it if you have cracked heels to cure them and then opt for a natural beauty fix.

RATING- 4.5/5

Editor’s Note: My mom has deep cracked heels and I will definitely suggest her this. She doesn’t use foot creams regularly, always forgets. I hope she uses this and it helps her. I also like the Oriflame one.

Touch Nature Lemongrass Essential Oil Review, Benefits, How to Use

Touch Nature Lemongrass Essential Oil Review, Benefits, How to Use

By Nidhal

They smell heavenly. They are perfect pick-me- up items to uplift your senses and lull you into a soothing slumber. Popularly used in aromatherapy sessions, essential oils, EO for short are highly concentrated, potent and therapeutic oils that need to be necessarily blended with a carrier/base oil for external use (and they are strictly not meant for internal uses). A base oil is simply any oil that mellows down the potency of the essential oil to the extent that its goodness isn’t reduced but it becomes conducive for use on skin.

The bottom line- Always, without fail, dilute essential oils in a base (or more than one) oil such as- virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO in short), virgin sesame oil and so on and so forth for use on skin/hair. Also, add only a few “DROPS’ and not teaspoons/tablespoons of the essential oil into the carrier/base oil. You stand the risk of scalding your skin if you add more than a few drops of essential oil to the base oil.

With these basic ideas in my, I zeroed in on TOUCH NATURE NEPAL LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL one fine afternoon as I was strolling the streets of Kathmandu, Nepal in 2014 🙂 The people are the epitome of courtesy , warmth and civility by the way. Coming back to the topic, let us begin with how the essential oil fared for me and how I used it for my skin and hair.

PRICE – 350 INR for 10ml (Buy similar from Soulflower HERE)

DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Dilute in a base/carrier oil of your choice, depending on your skin’s condition and use topically.

INGREDIENTS- Pure lemongrass essential oil

WHAT IT CLAIMS- Lemongrass (Cymbopogon) is a perennial plant in the Poaceae grass family and is native to the tropical and subtropical area of India, Cambodia, Indonesia, China, Guatemala, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. It flourishes where the soil is slightly sandy and the climate moist and war. Lemongrass essential oil has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, anti-oxidant, astringent and diuretic properties.

MY EXPERIENCE-

Packed in a minuscule glass jar with a plastic cap on top and a layer of plastic covering with already perforated holes inset, the packaging of the essential oil is simple, spillage-free and travel-friendly. Yes, the provision of the double layer packaging makes it easy to carry without the fear of leakage. However, I wish a dropper was furnished so that drawing out the oil would have been easier. So, that is my input.

The oil has a riveting aroma. It uplifts you truly! The oil does not have a greasy/oily/thick texture but is fairly runny (as I see). One is not supposed to put it on one’s skin without dilution hence, I never risked doing the same.

FOR MY SKIN – I blend 3-4 drops of this lemongrass essential oil into two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and then, massage it on my skin especially after a bath for that ensures better absorption 🙂 Result? My skin feels hydrated, smoothed out and softened throughout the day besides emanating a lovely aroma that keeps me fresh

FOR MY HAIR- I mix 2 drops of this lemongrass essential oil with 2 tablespoons of virgin sesame oil (which is slightly warm for I prefer hot oil massages). Never mix the oils and then heat the resulting mixture. Do not even heat virgin sesame oil too much else or it may emit flames of smoke, indicating that all its goodness is going in for a toss. Simply heat the virgin sesame oil for a minute or two on LOW FLAME and then after a minute or two, add 2 drops of lemongrass EO. Mix well and apply on your scalp.

Keep it overnight and then apply a mask (optional step) the next morning, shampoo and condition as usual. You will end with shiny, hydrated and softened hair which I did  Oh yes, as far as my experience goes, I find it suitable for use by all skin types except those with excessively dry skin. All hair types can go for it.

GOOD-

1. Riveting aroma. It sends one’s olfactory senses into a tizzy. In one word- Heavenly 

2. Well-packaged

3. Well-priced. Most essential oils are within this range so, one is not being overcharged.

4. Perfect for aromatherapy sessions.

5. Can be added to hair masks with a foul odour to camouflage the smell.

6. Can be added to face masks in order to elicit a soul-stirring aroma.

7. Imparts a glow. I have added a few drops of the same to extra virgin olive oil and used on my face and neck (which is dry)every night for two months. Hence, can vouch for it. Please note, I said “drops”.

BAD-

1. Very difficult to find. I have not been able to find it in India. It is obvious since it is made in Nepal but even if searched online, one is unable to find to find it.

RATING – 4/5

Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream Review

Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream Review

By Sanchita

INTRODUCTION – Just when I started working out, I thought of using the Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream simultaneously because I already have way too many stretch marks around my hips and thighs. I knew that these stretch marks are simply going to aggravate once I start off with full-fledged workout session. Having used the cream for about two months now, here’s my review on the product.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Johara Body Firming AntiCellulite Cream is a fresh, light weight, fast absorbing cream that visibly reduces the appearance of cellulite (Orange peel skin) within 4 weeks of regular use. Rich in regenerating & firming plant extracts like Fors LeanCG, Boswellin Super, Cosmoperine, Caffeine & Amaranthus that helps to restore body’s youthful tone & improve firmness & elasticity of the skin. Other ingredients such as Jojoba seed oil, Horse chestnut seed extract (Venocin) & Olive fruit oil revitalizes the skin texture and leaves skin feeling soft and satin smooth.

Paraben, Sulphate, Formaldehyde, Synthetic dye Free, Halal Certified, Dermatologist Certified, Suitable for Sensitive skin

INGREDIENTS:

PRICE – 900 INR for 125g

MY REVIEW

The Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream comes in a rather large plushy tube which is creamy in color, along with a flip open black cap which is pretty sturdy. The opening of the flip open cap dispenses the right amount of product, avoiding any mess or excess. Though the tube looks slightly big, it is a perfect pick for travelling. It is light weight, sturdy and doesn’t mess up at all. Overall, I really like the packaging.

Coming to the texture and consistency, it is has a creamy consistency which leans on the thicker side. The smell is artificial and creamy but nothing that would hurt the nasal senses. Once you blend the product onto the skin, it simply refreshes with aroma and then fades off.

The cream takes some time to blend but it does merge with the skin with some nice massage. Initially, I simply used to apply and blend and the cream used to look oily on the skin. However, with the passage of time, I thought of massage a good amount and saw that it works better that way. Massaging the cream has its own benefits. Massaging helps in blood circulation in that part of the body and also reduces the stretch marks. Once blended onto the skin, the area feels slightly warmed up which is very noticeable in summer.

Coming to its effect of reducing stretch marks, I didn’t notice anything till a month. I have been quite consistent with the workout but even after losing some kilos I didn’t notice the increasing appearances of the stretch marks. It was simply after 40-45 days when I noticed that the stretch marks around my thighs slowly started vanishing. The skin also looked much toned and even.

However, the perfect toned and firm was still to come. The cream also works slightly on double chin as I notice the pictures looked pretty good as far as the chiseled look is concerned. There was no side effect of the cream on the skin throughout the time I used it.

The ingredient list of the Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream is pretty impressive. It is enriched with Fors LeanCG, Boswellin Super, Cosmoperine, Caffeine & Amaranthus that are naturally endowed to improve the texture of the cream and provides firmness and elasticity. Abundant quantity of Jojoba, Olive, glycerin and other fruit oils are added which adds a nice layer of hydration to the skin that also contributes to the enhancement. In fact, the product is paraben, sulphate, formaldehyde, synthetic dye free and also halal certified and dermatologist certified – which makes it a perfect pick for sensitive skin as well.

OVERALL – Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream is an excellent choice if you want to reduce the stretch marks and add a nice layer of hydration to the skin.

WHAT I LIKED

  • Nice packaging.
  • Creamy texture.
  • Blends well.

Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque Review

Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque Review

By Pallavi

Hello Lovelies,

Here I am back with yet another skin care product. By now you might have understood that I am a big skin care junkie. I buy more and more products of skin care than makeup. Because I really believe that healthy skin is the key to beautiful skin. And in summers I love to use face packs. After a long tiring day my skin becomes so pale and tired that I need something to boost and revive my skin.

And that is the time when I am in urgent need of face packs. And this is one of those purchases – Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque.

Price: Rs. 449 for 100 ml.

Ingredients:

Directions to use: Begin by splashing some water on your face. Now, squeeze out the mask from the tube. Dilute the mask a bit with water. Spread the mask all over your face. Let it dry for some time say 15-20 minutes. Now, rinse away your face with water. You may be in need of more water for this clay based face mask. So, wash your face thoroughly.

What the brand Claims: Like the special clay masks that were a favourite with the Egyptian goddess Cleopatra, our French Red Clay mask never fails to soften your skin, preserve its complexion and impart a natural glow. It is a gentle paste of French Red Clay, which is an absolute powerhouse of iron and other minerals! Best suited for normal to oily skin types, it cleanses, detoxifies and exfoliates the skin, leaving it highly refreshed and toned. The clay is blended with Rose oil, virgin Coconut oil and the balancing Cedar wood essential oils. As the oils further nourish the skin, Turmeric powder and Sandalwood give it a distinctive radiance.

My experience with Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque:

The Packaging of Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque is very simple and travel friendly. It comes in a medium sized tube packaging which has product details written all over it. The tube has a wide cap at the top which needs to be twisted so that the face mask comes out. You need to squeeze the tube lightly. A very little product is required per usage. So, a single tube will easily last you for months.

Now, coming to the texture part. The clay based face masque is quite hard and not that easy to spread. So, you need to dilute it with water so that it spreads easily. After spreading it on face it will take some more time than the usual face masque to dry. Once it dries you can notice a clean and clear skin. You can also notice some redness around your nose area in case you have a sensitive skin.

And if you have a dry skin then you should pat some moisturiser on your face immediately after washing using this face pack. Yes, girls this face pack is a bit drying. But all clay based face masques are i believe.

Good about Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque

1. Goodness of natural ingredients

2. Travel friendly packaging

3. Price affordable

4. Little product required per usage

5. Cleanses face effectively

6. No breakouts

Bad about Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque

1. Not easily available

2. Dries out your skin too much

Rating – 4/5

Editor’s Note: I love clay based face masks Pallavi, this sounds good!

Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Pack Review

Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Pack Review

Hi guys,

So as I mentioned in my previous post that I wanted to try this pack, I went ahead and bought it from my local chemist. This is something new for me because I haven’t tried this face pack from Himalaya Herbals yet. I have used the Purifying Neem a lot and have also tried the Refreshing Fruit Pack before.

What the Company claims: Himalaya’s Fairness Kesar Face Pack is a unique natural formulation that evens out skin tone for a fairer you! Turmeric, Walnut, Indian Aloe and Kesar rejuvenate and cleanse your skin of impurities, to reveal a natural glow. Walnut and Indian Aloe heal the skin and remove blackheads. Turmeric and Kesar enhance your skin’s complexion and elasticity. CINNABLOC™, our patented, herbal sunscreen agent, protects your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays.

Key ingredients:

Turmeric has strong anti-inflammatory properties, which soothe your skin gently. The herb helps to even out your skin tone and complexion. It also helps to retain the skin’s elasticity and makes it supple.

Walnut has slightly acidic properties. It is particularly effective in treating acne and in soothing sunburned skin and eczema. Walnut helps in skin cell regeneration and in toning the skin because of its astringent properties.

Indian Aloe acts as an antibacterial and an astringent, which accelerates the healing of injured skin. Indian Aloe also softens and hydrates skin.

Kesar lightens skin, clears spots, enhances the complexion and gives skin an even tone.

Directions: Apply Fairness Kesar Face Pack evenly over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around the eyes and mouth. Let the pack dry for 10-15 minutes, and remove with a wet sponge or towel. Rinse with cool water. For best results, use twice a week.

MRP: Rs.70/- for 50g, Rs.130/- for 100g

It comes in the same white and green Himalaya Herbals flip cap tube packaging. It’s a thick, creamy mask and light yellow in colour. It has this soft powdery smell, but doesn’t smell of kesar or turmeric.

I wash my face and towel dry it lightly, keeping it a little damp for the mask to glide on well. Apply it all over the face avoiding eyes and lips and keep it on for 20 minutes before washing off, massaging it with circular motions with wet hands while taking it off.

I have used it 3-4 times till now, like twice a week, and I can say that this does not make your skin fairer, I think what they mean is detan. It definitely removes tan and lightens the acne scars a bit, to make the skin even. But it does require regular and continuous use to show results.

Kesar and turmeric are very good to even out skin while turmeric is also anti-bacterial. Indian Aloe soothes the skin.

Skin feels soft, supple and fresh post usage. I do need a moisturizer post washing the mask though.

I would recommend this face pack in summers, especially if you have tanned after your holidays, this does remove your tan with regular use. I would keep my use once a week now.
