I am exploring the new Coolpad Note 5 phone since the past few days and you must have already seen my Tips & Tricks for the Perfect Selfie post with the Note 5.
I took the phone with me all around and spent 24 hours just with this device, documenting my 24 hours day.

So that’s how I spent more than 24 hours documenting what I did and where I was on my Coolpad Note 5. I absolutely loved the pictures. These are all raw and unedited.

Now if you follow me on Instagram, you know I post a lot of selfies! Majority are clicked on the spot, coz I get the best lighting in the car which is not direct and yet bright enough near the windows.
I am using the new Coolpad Note 5 and have clicked quite a few selfies with this. The camera offers Night mode, Beauty Mode and Pro mode. You can adjust everything manually in the Pro mode.
It also has Watermark, Long Exposure, GIF and Panorama settings.
Here are few tips and tricks to click the perfect selfie, I have included the Do’s and Dont’s in pic form.
1. Always click facing the light, not against
This is the most important thing. Face the window or a source of light when you click a picture, never the opposite side of the window or the window being behind you. See the difference here..
When the source of light is behind, the picture would be very dark, and also your dark circles would be emphasized.
2. Try and use the rear/back camera
Majority phones have a better rear camera and the sharpness and clarity would make a huge difference. Now you may not be able to see where and how it is being clicked, but with practice, you will find the perfect angle 😀

3. Keep the phone slightly above the face angle
Never keep your phone below your face angle while clicking, that is the most unflattering angle for your face and would also show up your double chin :/ Clicking from above gives a defined face structure and jaw line 😉 See the difference..
4. Never click exactly from the centre
Now when you keep the phone exactly at the centre, you may look squint as both your pupils face the lens and also the features are not very flattering from the centre. Slightly tilt your face towards left or right, whichever side is your best angle. You will find it with trial and error. See the difference here from the centre and slightly tilted..
5. Basic makeup for the perfect picture
Now we have the ‘Beauty’ feature to make us look pretty even without makeup, but a little concealer and brightening the under eye area and high points of your face, will also make a huge difference. Always use a concealer for under eyes, bridge of nose, center of forehead. Use a nice, bright lipstick, pink, red or berry. Bright lipsticks instantly brighten your complexion. Now I have not crossed the pic with nude lipstick here, as nude is also OK but bright is better! A little blush and highlighter would give a nice flush to the skin and give a dewy appearance to the skin. A good volumizing mascara will open up your eyes.
6. Use the ‘Night’ mode
If your phone has a Night mode, make sure you use it for all the pictures clicked during night time. With regular camera mode, the pictures may turn out to be more grainy and unclear.
7. Editing
When all else fails, a little bit of editing helps 😀 Crop your picture to hide something unflattering or when you do not want a particular area to be included. VJ Anusha doesn’t like her big forehead and the veins showing, so she usually clicks cutting her forehead or crops it later. Also adjusting the Brightness/Contrast/Structure/Warmth makes a lot of difference. I use Aviary and Snapseed.
And still if you are not happy with your pictures, there are always ‘Filters’ 🙂

Today I am listing my top favourite blushes, 5 out of 6 are matte and perfect for day time. Only the Jordana one has shimmer but that is not much visible on the skin.
Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush in Peachy Sweetie
It’s a light dusty rose pink and completely matte. The most affordable blush in the market and is pigmented enough! I recommend this to everyone, even if you are not a blush person and would like to own just one and not invest much in it, you can try this.
L’Oreal Paris Lucent Magique Blush of Light in Fuchsia Flush
Another super gorgeous hot pink shade! This is very bright and pigmented and you have to go with a very light hand when using this. It is priced at INR 850 but will last you forever. Absolutely love the packaging.
Marks & Spencer Limited Blusher in Damson
My go-to everyday blush, this is a light n*de mauve kind of shade, you can go lightly with this or layer for more intensity. The most natural looking blush I own
Jordana Blush in Sunlit Bronze
Again a very nice, everyday neutral shade. It’s a light brown with some shimmer. Very pigmented and use it with a light hand again as otherwise it might look muddy.
Sigma Blush in Cheeky
It’s a muted rosy brown shade, perfect for medium to fair skin tones.
MAC Bite of an Apple Blush
My most favourite blush ever, it’s a medium coral pink and looks beautiful on fair to medium skin tones. This will even show up well on deeper skin tones.

India is one country which has three seasons and rains/monsoon are the most integral middle season. We love it, hate it, but we cannot ignore it. And cannot not get drenched once, come what may. Because whenever you carry an umbrella, it will never rain while when you don’t as it’s very sunny, it will surely rain! Murphy’s laws :/
Anyhoo, since we cannot avoid it, we should be well prepared for it. Your makeup needs some change too in the monsoon, as you don’t want heavy foundations or makeup meltdown in monsoon.
Primer, makeup setting spray and waterproof makeup is the solution against monsoon 😀 Here are few of my makeup must haves for monsoon season:
1. Primer: A primer is very essential as it not only smoothens the pores and make your foundation glide seamlessly, it also holds your makeup in place in sweat & humidity. I am currently loving the Sephora Smoothing Primer and Make Up For Ever Step 1 Smoothing Skin Equalizer.
2. Concealer/BB cream: Now you do not need heavy foundation in monsoon as it’s bound to be humid and sticky too. Concealers/tinted moisturisers/BB creams are your best friend in monsoon. I love the Ponds BB Cream and the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Concealer. These are my go to, keep the makeup in place and are not at all heavy. The concealer also instantly brightens my under eyes.
3. Cream Blushes/Highlighters/Cheek & Lip Stains: Go for cream to powder finish products in monsoon or tints. They are not too heavy, give a soft and dewy finish and the color/tint stays put through the day. I love the Kryolan Lip & Cheek Stain, Faces Ultime Pro Metalliglow Highlighter in Champagne, The Body Shop Cheek & Lip Stain
4. Eyebrow pencil/pomade: If you use eyeshadow to set your eyebrows, you will need to set them with a wax or they would obviously wash away in monsoon. I would suggest using a pencil/pomade as they are more waxy and keep the eyebrows in place. I like the Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper
5. Waterproof Eyeliner & Mascara: Need I say more for this? You don’t want to end up with panda eyes, having eyeliner & mascara all around 😀 Maybelline Magnum Barbie is completely water proof!
6. Matte Liquid Lipsticks/Lip Crayons: Creamy lipsticks would bleed and be all over your face, if in case you get drenched. Matte liquid lipsticks are the safest bet and also they are very much in trend these days! I love Chambor Extreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipsticks & Colorbar Kiss Proof Liquid Lipsticks. Also Matte Lip crayons are a good option, I like the Maybelline Lip Gradation.
7. Loose Powder: Compact powder would slip in humid climate, but a loose mineral powder works well for monsoon. Also if you have baked your face and especially undereyes, it will stay put through the day! I am currently loving the Faces Mineral Loose Powder.
8. Makeup Setting Spray: And to set it all, a makeup setting spray. My favourite is the Colorbar Stay the Day Finishing Mist.
9. Bright Nail Paints: Wear all your reds, oranges, blues. Bright nails and monsoon go hand in hand.
So yes, with these changes in your makeup, you are all set to face the monsoon!

If you follow my blog, you know I have reviewed the OPPO F1 which was launched in Feb HERE. And then later in April, I went to Delhi for the OPPO F1 Plus Selfie Expert phone launch and also reviewed the F1 Plus HERE, comparing it with Samsung Galaxy A7.
Now OPPO has launched the F1s which is already available for pre-booking. I am trying out the device since about a week now and here are my thoughts on it.

It’s a 5.5 inch screen normal sized smartphone, it’s not as thin and light as the F1 Plus, but not very heavy too, 160g to be precise. It has 3075mAh battery which is pretty good and lasts through whole day in one full charge!
It comes with earphones, charger, USB cord and a transparent plastic back case.
Of course, the phone does have all the excellent camera features which all OPPO phones come with. From Selfie Panoroma to HDR and Expert Mode.
I have clicked this with the Expert Mode, Ultra HD Mode, HD Mode and the Normal mode. The Expert Mode lets you adjust the white balance, ISO and every other setting. If you are a professional photographer, you can change those every single time before clicking. Ultra HD gives brighter and clearer pictures. HD mode is true to color and will give you super sharp pictures. They are heavy in size and resolution. HD mode is my favourite, and the Normal mode clicks pretty good pictures too. They have an inbuilt editor which lets you quickly edit pictures.

Also my favourite Beautify 4.0 mode, it makes your selfies look flawless! And also natural at the same time. I have taken this picture with the normal mode and the Beautify mode. Mind you, I only have concealer and some powder used here on my skin, and the Beautify mode gives me flawless skin as if I have full makeup on. I love the fact that it brightens and sharpens my eyes.

Both front and rear camera clicks excellent pictures even in low light and night time, compared to all other expensive phones in the segment. I had compared the F1 Plus with Samsung Galaxy A7 in my previous blog post. As you can see in the pictures above, it concentrates light on the subject and dims the background, so the subject is well lit!
0.22s Fingerprint Sensor
Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer. The finger print sensor is unbelievably fast! Colours are very bright and sharp and pictures come true to colour.

Hey guys, If you follow me on Snapchat (bhumika_t), you must have seen this phone a lot by now, right from the secret it was to the unveiling on 23rd May, it’s been a week and I have experimented a lot with this phone, so here are my two cents on it.

Coming to my experience:
Asus Zenfone Max comes with a USB charger, OTG cable and a warranty card.

It is slightly heavy at 205gms but then a 5000mAh battery comes with a little weight 😀 I love the look and feel of it, especially the textured back cover feels expensive and nice.
When I opened the phone on 23rd May, it had no battery, so I had to charge it fully and it did take a lot of time, because 5000 mAh does take time to get fully charged. The charger is 1amp and a 2amp charger might help you to lessen the charging time, but I am not sure if the phone has the capacity for that.
Battery Test
Once it was fully charged on 23rd May night untill today right now, I haven’t charged it even once, it’s been almost 6-7 days. Right now too the battery is 51% left. To be honest, I have not used it extensively like for gaming, etc., just the camera, apps, surfing and normal stuff, but I haven’t come across a phone yet, that did not charging for 7 days straight! I am pretty sure with gaming and more extensive use too, this phone would last for 2-2.5 days easily!
Talking about the next fabulous feature, the OTG cable. How amazing it is to charge other phones and devices through a phone and not a powerbank coz your phone itself is a powerbank 😀 The OTG cable that comes along with Zenfone Max turns the phone into a powerbank and you can charge any device with it’s USB through this.
The camera is pretty decent, I would not say it’s the most amazing camera I have seen, but at this price point, I may. The 13MP rear camera captures details, colours and clarity fabulously. I absolutely loved the front camera though, it’s pretty clear and you can even adjust focus. It is dual sim and comes with 2GB RAM,32GB internal memory and supports 4G. The Asus UI is pretty decent too, it does come with some pre loaded apps but you can always remove those. The USP of this phone is the battery and the OTG cable! I haven’t come across a phone with all these features at a price of Rs.9999/- yet.
Definitely recommend it for people who use their phones a lot throughout the day and don’t prefer carrying power bank and USB cords with them, you won’t need to with this phone, just charge it through the night and you are sorted for 1.5-2 days easily even with heavy use! My brother is one such person, his work solely depends on his phone and he is on calls throughout the day. His phone is always dead by the time he reaches home, so I am surely gifting the Asus Zenfone Max to him 🙂

I am absolutely in love with the design, it is super thin and very light weight. The dull gold matte finish looks very classy and elegant and it is the lightest phone I have ever used and carried. Plus the four contoured corners are also well designed giving it a sleek look. It also comes in matte rose gold which is again beautiful.
The camera also comes with Beautify 3.0 option which makes your selfies look pretty! The front 8MP camera works even in low light conditions and still gives you pretty bright and clear selfies. The front camera selfie pictures are also all high resolution and crisp.

The camera and design is excellent and I have not come across a phone as classy looking and light weight as this in this price range yet! I highly recommend checking out OPPO F1, the sales start this week in all major cities and also online.
The best thing about OPPO is they have 30 day replacement period and 24 months warranty which no other brand in India has, I believe coz I have only seen 6 or 12 months warranty majorly.

But today I am talking about the phone from a blogger, specifically a beauty and fashion blogger or any girl’s perspective.
Starting with the design, it is super sleek and thin with slight round edges. It looks and feels like a phone with 5x the price! It is ergonomically designed with a button behind to adjust volume and take selfies which is like the best part here, coz we all know how difficult it is to hold the button and adjust your finger to click on Capture 😀

2. Camera, Camera, Camera. Yes, 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, amazing picture quality with perfectly vivid colors, sharpness and brightness. We girls need a good camera each day, every day!

3. Beautification mode. On days when we are too lazy to put on any makeup, we just use the beautification mode for pictures and look perfectly made up. It has color correction, skin correction, eyes, blush, every feature to correct and all this before taking a picture, so edit before clicking now!
4. Camera Features. Coming to the best part in this phone, the camera features it has. Apart from the basic Auto, Manual and the above mentioned Super HDR, Low Light, Selfie Panorama and Beautification Modes, it has night, depth of field, effect (filters), normal panorama, GIF Animation creator, Time Rewind, All Smiles, Miniature, Smart Remove, Time Lapse and Slow motion. Now create GIF’s, fun Slow-mo and Fast forward videos, smartly remove any unwanted object or person from your picture, select the best smiles of every person in the picture with All Smiles. You name it and the phone has it, it is like a genie!
5. Colors available. It comes in black, white, grey, red and gold. This is the gold one and I absolutely love gold.
The pictures are slightly grainy with the rear camera compared to high end phones and cameras but the front camera pictures are razor sharp, crisp and clear. At Rs.9999/- this is the best phone in the market in that price category. No phone under Rs.10,000 has this good a camera with laser auto focus and these many camera features plus the technical features.
