Avon Glimmersticks Ultra Brights Eyeliner GD008 Purple Punch Review, Swatches, EOTD

What the Company claims: Brighter and more intense color for electrifying eye look.
Glides smoothly, softly and evenly.
Lasts upto 12 hours waterproof and smudgeproof
Automatic sharpening for precision Lining

Shades Available: 4

  • Purple Punch
  • Cobalt Cool
  • Turquoise Burst
  • Boldest Black

MRP: Rs.399/- for 0.28g

Avon already has Glimmersticks eyeliners and they are pretty known and famous and quiet good..I had reviewed the shade Nocturnal HERE.

They have launched these Glimmersticks Ultra Brights now..but not sure why the prices increased so much from Rs.259/- directly to Rs.399/- though they are mostly on offers..

Glimmersticks are generally metallic shades or ones with shimmer..these are matte but bright..

It goes on smooth and is quite creamy..no tugging or pulling..but requires layering for the intensity..atleast 2 swipes..not multiple though. Stays on for 6-7 hours before fading off.

Purple Punch is a matte bluish purple shade..

Pros:

1. Pretty brights.
2. Smudge proof and does not spread around.
3. Stays for a good 6-7 hours.
4. Mechanical and retractable..so no wastage.
5. Matching shade at the end to identify.

Cons:

1. Needs to be layered twice for the intensity.
2. Only available through an Avon rep.

Overall I liked this shade..but would have loved it more had the pigmentation been better..the previous Glimmersticks were more pigmented..or may be its just this shade..I am not sure..but definitely worth a try..especially on offers.

Maybelline Colossal Kohl Turquoise Review, Swatches, FOTD

Maybelline The Colossal Kohl/Kajal Turquoise Review, Swatches, FOTD

So, if you follow me on my facebook page or Instagram, you must have seen this already ! The new Maybelline Colossal Turquoise Kajal..I had done a look with it..I received it in Feb but since I was supposed to be hush hush about it before, I was mum :p

Ok anyways, now since its officially launched and you can lay your hands on it too..let me review it for you guys..

What the Company claims: Go all out with glamourous eyes in the most exciting Colossal Kohl- Turquoise which LINES like a kohl and DEFINES like a liner. Turquoise kohl is a refreshing twist on the conventional black kohl and a must have fashion and beauty accessory. Here’s why you’ll love it:

Provides 12 hours of smudge free turquoise intensity
Color doesn’t smudge or fade
Enriched with nourishing ingredients and Vitamin E to soothe the eye
Features a unique tip that glides smoothly for an even application
100% suitable for your eyes

MRP: Rs.249/- for 0.35g (Buy on Flipkart here)

It comes in the same yellow retractable pencil packaging as the Maybelline Colossal Kajal Black..only with the metallic blue script on it..

Since turquoise blue is perfect for summers, Maybelline came up with this shade..

Its a metallic turquoise blue shade with some minute shimmer..I would not say its as pigmented as the black kajal..though its smooth but needs to be layered for the color to show up.

Also its a little soft and breakable..

The color stays for a good 6-7 hours on the upper lashline but on the lower lashline, it stays for 2-3 hours..before it fades off..there is no smudging or flakes issue.

Here I have done a winged liner with it on the upper lashline..and connected it to the lower lashline..and used the black Colossal Kajal on the waterlines..

And an FOTD :p

Pros:

1. Nice bright summer color.

2. I like the fuss free, travel packaging as the black kajal..with the metallic blue script.

3. Pops up the eyes.

4. Is smooth to use…no tugging.

5. Stays for 6-7 hours on the upper lashline.

6. Does not smudge or flake.

Cons:

1. Not that pigmented..needs to be layered.

2. Does not stay longer on the lower lashline.

Overall, I would say its a nice refreshing change from the usual blacks and browns..also this bright blue is actually perfect for summers for popping up the eyes. Definitely worth a try !

L’oreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipsticks Review, Swatches

L’oreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipsticks Mauve Cherie and Irrestible Espresso Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: The Rouge Caresse lipstick has a flutter of kissable, soft, colour. Its delicate texture glides onto lips creating a veil of colour with a luminous shine. It adds a desired pop of color with a meltingly soft application. The lipstick contains light oils, crystalline wax, transparent blenders and pearl pigments that deliver true color with a weight-less comfort.

MRP: Rs.499/- for 2.5g

Shades Available: 10

  • Mauve Cherie
  • Cheeky Magenta
  • Sweet Berry
  • Dating Coral
  • Hypnotic Red
  • Impulsive Fuchsia
  • Irresistible Espresso
  • Rock N Mauve
  • Rose Mademoiselle
  • Aphrodite Scarlet

First of, I love the packaging..the gold L’oreal Paris panel at the centre..where it shut clicks..and the transparent outer..looks nice..it has a sweet fruity smell but not too overpowering..

There are reds, corals, mauves and browns in this range.

It has this super glossy sheen to it..and the color in the tube looks like so bright but when you apply them, they are just like glosses..goes smooth and gives that shine and colour..

They are quite moisturising too and easy to apply..you don’t even need a mirror with these lipsticks 😀

They stay for around 2 hours without eating/drinking..staying power is the only issue with these..but then you can easily reapply..super easy to touch up as I mentioned before..it leaves behind a soft stain which stays for another 1-2 hours.

L- Mauve Cherie, R- Irrestible Espresso

102 Mauve Cherie is a true mauve shade.

602 Irresistible Espresso looks brown in the tube..but its quite a wearable glossy milky brown..good for office wear.

T- Irrestible Espresso, B- Mauve Cherie

And here are they on me..

L- Mauve Cherie, R- Irrestible Espresso

Pros:

1. Lip gloss in lipstick form.

2. Moisturising.

3. Wearable colors..there is one for everyone..reds,corals,pinks,mauves,browns.

4. Very glossy.

5. Easy to apply and for touch ups.

6. Chic packaging.

7. Economical.

8. Feels light on the lips.

Cons:

1. Transfers.

2. Staying power is not so good.

Overall, I would say, these are good for daily use..when you need a light wash of color with the sheen..or even for your formal everyday wear..and something you don’t mind touching up. But not for days when you need full impact color or long staying pigmented lipstick. Not a must have but worth a try.

Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms Vivacious, Ingenue, Tease Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: High Shine Lacquer. Moisture Rich Balm

A lacquer finish that’s beyond brilliant. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 8 collectible, craveable colors

EXPERT TIPS LIPS: For a polished and perfect lip look, apply foundation on and around the lips before lip color. Foundation helps to prep the lip area for a more flawless application and helps lip color last longer.

MRP: Rs.800/- for 2.7g

Shades Available: 8

  • Vivacious
  • Ingenue
  • Whimsical
  • Flirtatious
  • Tease
  • Coquette
  • Enticing
  • Coy

I guess Demure and Provocateur are not launched in India.

Both these Lacquer Balms and the Matte Balms launched together..see the review and swatches of the Matte Balms HERE.

Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms come in a beautiful glossy metallic packaging. These are glosses in the form of lip crayons..super glossy but still pigmented.

If compared to the Revlon ColorBurst Kissable Balm Stains, these are more lighter in texture and glossier.

The composition of three butters Shea, Mango and Coconut make these super hydrating and moisturising..

They are quiet light in texture..you do not feel like you have applied anything on lips..feels like a lip balm. These are quiet pigmented..the swatches are just one swipe..and after the glossines fades away..the color stays for more hours..especially the deeper colors like Vivacious here.

These have the same peppermint smell like in Kissable Balm Stains and Matte Balms. All of the shades have super fine minute shimmer which is not even visible unless seen very very closely..but this helps giving the shades that glossiness and high shine.

L-R: Ingenue, Tease, Vivacious

145 Ingenue is a perfect MLBB shade for me..a nude brown..its an everyday shade.

130 Tease is a beautiful coral orange..it looks amazing on warm skin tone..my favorite of the 3..also wore it HERE.

120 Vivacious is a pretty rosy pink (None of those fuchsias or blue undertone pinks)

Here are the swatches..

T-B: Vivacious, Tease, Ingenue

And here are they on moi..

L-R: Ingenue, Tease, Vivacious

And an FOTD with Vivacious..

Pros:

1. Super glossy.

2. High pigmentation.

3. Moisturising.

4. Deeper colors stay longer.

5. Like the glossy packaging.

6. All 8 shades are quiet nice..there is one for everyone.

7. Feels quiet light on lips.

Cons:

1. Little expensive.

2. Not transfer proof.

3. Lighter colors don’t stay that longer.

Overall, I would say I like the light texture and glossines..and the shades too..all three and in fact all 8 are pretty and nice..and perfect for all occasions..the one like Ingenue works for your everyday wear, formal wear too..Tease is a must have according to me..my favorite of the three..it looks beautiful on warm skin tones like ours..Vivacious is a clean, pretty rosy pink..one of the natural pinks..that would look good on everyone..I recommend all three !  In fact Flirtatious, a nice deeper pink and Enticing, a pretty red, are also nice shades from this collection. If you are a red lover..or want to try reds..you can try something glossy and light like Enticing.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms Review, Swatches

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms Sultry and Unapologetic Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Velvety Matte Look. Moisture Rich Balm

A Matte finish that’s beyond plush.Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 8 collectible, craveable colors.

MRP: Rs.800/- for 2.7g

Shades Available: 8

  • Elusive
  • Sultry
  • Unapologetic
  • Shameless
  • Audacious
  • Mischievous
  • Striking
  • Standout

The packaging is almost the same as the Revlon Kissable Lip Balm Stain..the retractable chubby pencils..the outer finish is though matte and darker..

They have the same peppermint smell and flavour as the Lip Balm Stains..though these Matte Balms and the Lacquer Balms have a blend of 3 butters..Shea, Mango and Coconut..which makes them more hydrating and moisturising..

Matte lipsticks and balms are not easily available across all brands..MAC makes good matte lipsticks..Revlon has a matte range..but very selected matte lipsticks are that good and hydrating too..these are matte with a velvety finish.

Revlon has almost nailed it with these Matte Balms..pigmentation- check, matte texture- check, staying power- check. Almost all good qualities of a matte lipstick/lip product..only thing is its not completely transfer proof..and cannot be layered for touch up..as it can go patchy..it needs to be removed and reapplied..

L- Sultry, R- Unapologetic

225 Sultry is a deep pink brown..supposedly MAC Twig dupe..but I am not really sure.

210 Unapologetic is a bright reddish coral pink..dupe of MAC Lipstick in Impassioned (Impassioned its slightly deeper) and Party Parrot – Limited Edition (Almost similar.. 95%)

I think Unapologetic is also the most loved shade in the Indian blogosphere..I personally love it ! Totally brightens up the face.. Also wore it HERE.

U- Sultry, D- Unapologetic

Here are the shades on me..

L- Sultry, R- Unapologetic

Lips look a little drier with Unapologetic coz Sultry was removed completely which left lips little dry..

And an FOTD with Unapologetic..

Pros:

1. Love the velvetty matte look.

2. Amazingly pigmented.

3. Staying power is pretty good.

4. All 8 shades are quite pretty..there is one for everyone..red lovers, pink lovers, especially Unapologetic is beauty bloggers’ favorite !

5. Hydrating..even though its matte.

6. Feels light on the lips.

Cons:

1. Not transfer proof.

2. Cannot be layered as goes patchy.

Overall, I am in love with the feel and texture of these matte balms..they score on all levels..Highly recommended !

Unapologetic is my most worn shade these days..I also love Audacious, Striking and Elusive..oh I think I love all the shades..the colors are all fab..

To start with, I loved this concept of mix and match and create your own palette..you get to customize your own shades..and create your own duos, trios and quads..you can detach and attach it however, whenever you want, for travel, etc too..And you get different finishes and different types of colors..from neutrals to pastels to brights..

The small black single shadow..has a slider on both sides..where another eyeshadows can be slid and clicked to attach..the packaging is quite cute too..

Clicked together

All shades have different pigmentation and staying power..some are more pigmented while some are drier or sheerer..

130 Seafoam is a pastel bluish mint..its decently pigmented..and stays for 4-5 hours..I am not into pastel eyeshadows much..but if you like pastels, you should check this out..

260 Copper is a sheer true copper..it needs to be builded up..its a kinda of shade you can wear as it is with just a winged liner when you want to emphasize more on lips..like a good warm neutral..and would look great with Indian outfits..it stayed for a good 4-5 hours and without any creasing..without a primer too.

Here is an EOTD with the shade Copper..

Pros:

1. Nice mix and match and customization concept.

2. Cute packaging.

3. Quite economical.

4. 20 shades to choose from.

5. Different finishes from matte to shimmer.

6. Stayed well for 4-5 hours without primer and without any creasing.

Cons:

1. Some shades are drier and sheerer..not all have good pigmentation.

Overall, I would say I quite like them..but check individual shades and their pigmentation before making your customized palette..

I love Onyx, Eggplant, Java and Taupe..eyeing those 😀

Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks Glissade,Soaked Review,Swatches

Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks Glissade, Soaked Review, Swatches

Illamasqua came up with a Glamore collection which has 3 lipsticks and 3 nail paints..the lipsticks being Glissade, Soaked and Luster. I got to try two of them i.e Glissade and Soaked for reviewing those for you guys today.

What the Company claims: Glamore Lipstick  is a colour intense lipstick with a long lasting satin finish. Ideal for a more hydrated comfort finish. Can be worn under a sheer lip-gloss for more 3D Effect.

MRP: £18.50 for 4g/0.14 OZ. (Approx. Rs.1850/-)

Hydrated colour intense lipstick with a long lasting finish.

Key Benefits:

1. Colour Intense
2. Contains moisturising Vitamin E
3. Comfort

Application: Apply directly or use a lip brush.

INGREDIENTS: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Octyldodecanol, Candelilla Cera (Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Cire de Candelilla), Glyceryl Ricinoleate, Oleyl Alcohol, Cera Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax), Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax, Cire Microcristalline), Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil, Huile Minérale), Cetyl Alcohol, Cera Alba (Beeswax, Cire d’abeille), Tocopherol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Parfum (Fragrance), Red 22 Lake (CI 45380), Titanium Dioxide(CI 77891), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985), Red 36 (CI 12085), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Carmine (CI 75470)

Made in Germany

These come in the trademark Illamasqua packaging..remember my previous pink lipstick Immodest (see HERE). Immodest had a very dry matte texture..this formulation is quite different.

Super pigmented..you get color in one swipe..and which stays on and on..and the tint is quite strong too..its not moisturising types but quite hydrating..you don’t feel your lips are dry and neither does it feel heavy..glides on smooth as well unlike matte lipsticks..

These appear a little glossy for an hour or so..and then settle for a satin finish.

I am majorly impressed by the pigmentation and staying power..they have stayed on me for 6-7 hours and the tint survived much longer..even after full meals, drinks, etc..

Glissade is described as a Bold Pink..its a medium mauve fuchsia..kinda mix..difficult to describe this shade actually..but it looks soo good ! I am in love with this shade ! My current favorite..it would work well on all skin tones..coz its not totally fuchsia kinds..and makes the face brighter immediately..a super pretty pink !

Soaked is described as a vibrant orange..its a medium orange with red undertones..when used as a tint, it comes up as a pretty orangey red..again not the bright loud orange types..but very wearable kinds (though it looks super bright..it looks better in person..and much nicer as a tint)

And here are both on moi..

Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks – L: Glissade, R: Soaked

Pros:

1. Super pigmented.

2. Long Staying.

3. Satin non drying finish.

4. Lovely colors..both are very wearable..Glissade is a must have !

5. Feel light on lips.

Cons:

1. Pricey.

2. Availability is an issue..need to order online.

Overall, Illamasqua Glamore  Lipsticks are a must have..these are amazing formulation wise..and color wise too..especially Glissade..highly recommended !!

PRODUCT PRICE: Rs. 750/- for 1.6g

So at first I thought I have an olive shade which is marked as blue..these both read pink and blue..(Remember the goof up in Eyeconic..I got two greens instead of one grey..read HERE )

Now I got confused between the blue and green..there was no swatch for the blue one anywhere online..and this swatches a deep green..

Basically the three blue/greens in this range are one is a turquoise blue, one olive green and one this Blue which is a deep sea green..

These are eyeshadows in chubby plastic crayon form with transparent lids and matching ends to the shades..and needs to be sharpened.

Pink is a beautiful champagne pink..makes a nice easy to wear color..a great highlight, perfect for inner corners and also highlighting your cheeks.. (or as shown to us in the Lakme Absolute Illusion Masterclass, after the normal base shadow is done, this pink shade was warmed in between fingers and applied at the centre..i.e where the eyeballs are..and it gave a beautiful nice shimmery sheen) Very multi purpose !

Blue is actually a deep sea green..its quite rich and dark..and would make for perfect night time smokey eyes.

They have all the features they mentioned ! Glides effortlessly, super soft, amazing pigmentation, stays put throughout the day but needs to be blended super fast coz it sets immediately.

Here I have used Pink with subtle eyeliner..would look great with bold red lips..or any bright lip..when you do not want the eyes to be heavy..but still some sheen and shine 🙂

Pros:

1. Super soft.
2. Glides smoothly.
3. Doubles up as an eyeliner.. (though a thicker one..you can make for subtle smokey eyes by just blending the thick liner)
4. Stays put through the day.
5. Amazingly pigmented.
6. Comes in 8 shades to choose from.. Bronze and Purple are amazing too..apart from these two..and White which is a nice golden white.
7. Pink and White are multi purpose.

Cons:

1. I am not sure why this is named ‘Blue’ :/
2. These are priced a little higher. (Rimmel Scandaleyes are priced at Rs.415/- for 3.2g qty..though a few shades in Lakme are more pigmented than Rimmel)

Overall I would say, these are quite amazing…and I loved the shades they have come up with..there are subtle Pink and White..and bright Purple and Blue, and Indian wedding wear Bronze and Olive..there is one for everyone..and for all occasions..Highly recommend them..

Maybelline came up with these pretty pink lipsticks called Pink Alert just before Valentine’s Day..and these were so perfectly launched for the apt day.

They come in pretty pink packaging..the packaging is the same as the Maybelline Colorsensational range..but prettier and pinker.

They are creamy and quite pigmented..and stay on for 4-5 hours..even after drinking and eating proper dinner..the color had just faded a little..I am quite impressed by the staying power.

POW1 is a blue based neon pink..a super bright pink..that does not even show the true color in picture..but looks amazing in person..MAC Pink Pigeon dupe..but do not wear this shade when flash is going to be used..I did the mistake..it makes you look ghastly with flash.

Here it is on moi..

Pros:

1. The Packaging is pretty.
2. They are very creamy and glide on well.
3. Nicely pigmented and stays on better than other creamy lipsticks…they stay for around 4-5 hours and do not fade completely.
4. Amazing pinks..I actually loved all 4 pinks ! This one is for pink lovers..
5. Economical.

Cons:
1. Pow1 looks ghastly with flash.
2. Looks blotchy when layered quiet a few times..you need to remove the previous first and reapply for touch ups.

Overall, this range has great pinks..and there is one for everyone..there is a neon pink, coral pink, fuchsia pink..you will find your favorite pink or pinks 😉 I am going to buy POW2 next..I love that one too..Highly Recommended !

Oriflame Beauty Studio Artist Gel Liner Review, Swatches

Oriflame Beauty Studio Artist Gel Liner Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Oriflame Beauty Studio Artist Gel Eyeliner gives the precision line of liquid eyeliner for professional and smudge-free results.  The smooth texture of the gel eye liner delivers rich color and even coverage and ensures long-lasting luring eyes for up to 24 hours. It comes with a slanted brush applicator that gives smooth and flawless effects.

MRP: Rs.449/- for 3g

It comes in a small glass pot and a small slanted brush alongwith..

Its rich and deep..and matte black..good pigmentation..can be easily layered..I quite like it for tighlining..gives precise definition..

Texture wise, it is quite soft but not that smooth..I like the fact that the small brush can be used for travel and no need to carry a separate brush..but for regular use,I wish it came with a longer brush too,as holding that small brush and lining is sometimes difficult.

It stays on for 8 hours plus on my upper lashline with minimal fading. But it sets quickly and layering over it does not go smooth.

Pros:

1. Rich black

2. Very creamy.
3. Glides on well..no tugging or pulling.
4. Small travel friendly brush.
5. Stays put quiet long.
6. Its often available at a discount..and the qty is more than other gel liners..like Maybelline and L’oreal..so quite economical.

Cons:

1. I wish there was a longer brush too along.

2. Available only through reps.

Overall, I would say its a nice rich black, matte gel liner..and buttery in texture..comes with a nice travel friendly brush too..if you love gel liners, you should definitely try this.
