What the Company claims: Revitalises the scalp bringing essential nutrition to the hair root. Restores its natural vigour and vitality.
Iraya’s Keshavardhak Lepa, an ancient ayurvedic recipe contains 11 powerful herbs for reversing premature hair loss. It is a powerful hair tonic compound that strengthens the hair root and stimulates micro- circulation in the scalp. Helps prevent and stop hairfall. The perfect care for thinning hair and for treating alopecia.
Usage: Form a thin paste by mixing it with water and/or some oil (for dry scalp). Part the hair and carefully apply to the entire scalp. For best results, cover your hair with a hot, wet towel and leave on for atleast an hour.
Note- After the first application, you may notice some hair fall, do not worry these are dead hair follicles that are eliminated as the first part of the treatment.
Ingredients: 11 powerful ayurvedic herbs including triphala, gokharu & maka
MRP: Rs.495/- for 50g
It comes in a cute wooden jar matki with a cap. And inside you have the powder in a plastic zip pouch.
Since the product is to be used on the entire scalp, the 50g pack would last 3 uses. You can either mix it with water or with oil. I have tried once with both. The hair and scalp feel a little drier when mixed with water, coz the water would evaporate quickly and you need to keep the mask for an hour.
With oil, hair won’t feel dry, but it would be a little difficult to wash off.
I used it alternate weeks i.e with one week gap in between. I did not notice any hair fall as such when I was using this, but could not notice any new hair growth too, in this short time and in just 3 uses.
Though the herbs mentioned in the ingredients like triphala, gokharu, maka and a few others are the best to prevent hair loss and regenerate new hair. But, one needs to give it time and use it consistently to see results.
I think it should have been sold in a 100g pack and obviously at less a price than the double of 50g, to be economical and for one to see some good results.
Overall, I would say, definitely worth a try if you are suffering from hair loss.
Have you tried the Iraya Keshavardhak Lepa or any other ayurvedic preparation to fight against hair fall ? Did you notice results ?
Few weeks back, I was invited to visit the L’Oreal Paris Labs in Mumbai and see how they make the hair color, process, behind the scenes, etc.
At first, we were given an introduction to the new L’Oreal Paris Casting Creme Gloss and the new Chocolate Collection (See more HERE). We were given a presentation about what goes behind L’Oreal Paris and the research in the labs by Maxime De Boni.
Then we took a round of the L’Oreal Labs on the other floor. Later we saw the rooms where they give the hair color to women to try on themselves and observe their way of application, way of washing it, etc. They also help them or teach them if they feel the method is not right.
A discussion room right besides their room, to work on their observations and how and what they can include in the product, to make it easier for women to colour their hair at home by themselves.
We also saw a small experimental salon where they colour their hair and a light room to check the hair colour under the dark light.
Overall, it was good to see ‘what goes beyond’ the hair color and the research involved. Though I would say, it could have been better if we were taken inside the labs to see it live, but since it was against the company’s policy, can’t do much there.
Have you seen any lab where makeup/hair products are made ? Your experience ?
This time we are back to the pink box! Yay 😀 How we love pink :p And also we have 4 new brands in the My Envy Box.
What I got in my box:
2 sachets of L’Occitane En Provence Angelic Hydra Vital gel (Rs.2990/- for 50 ml)- The qty is pretty decent. I like how light weight and ultra moisturizing it is.
7 ml tube of Wild Ferns (New Zealand based brand) Manuka Honey Conditioning Hand Creme (Rs.1500/- for 85ml)
Pefume Vial- Givenchy Play For Her (Rs 5750 for 75ml- Its a litte too strong and fruity with top notes being Orange Blossom and Pink Peppercorn
20ml tube of Natio (popular Australian brand) Ageless Dual action Cleanser and Exfoliator (Rs.1010/- for 75ml)- I think its a pretty good qty and this can be my perfect travel companion. I love cleansers that exfolaite as well and are not drying or stretchy on the skin.
5 ml of Epique Advanced UV Protection System (Rs 2700/- 15ml)- Switzerland based brand. I like the fact that it has SPF50. Super expensive though :/
This time there is also an additional card for a free eye makeup consultation at Givenchy.
I did not get the H2O sample this time too, whereas many others did. I would anyday prefer a bigger 20-30 ml H2O sample than a small 3-5ml sachets/tube from an international brand. I like to use the product well to judge whether it works for me, and I cannot do so, with a small sample. I did not get H2o previous month too, and a small 5ml tube. Same thing again. I would request My Envy Box to have bigger samples.
Overall, a mixed bag again. In terms of pricing it may be good, coz 1-2 products like Epique are super expensive. But I would love to try bigger sizes of not so expensive brands.
Lakmé Salon Presented ‘Show Stopping Hair’ Collection Styled by Little Shilpa @ Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014
Hey guys,
So I attended this #HairIsFashion #ShowStoppingHair ‘first of its kind’ hair fashion show yesterday at Lakme Fashion Week. It was styled by Little Shilpa, but the whole show revolved around hair.
Lakmé Salon brought hair to the forefront for the first time in the history of Lakmé Fashion Week through its ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection. Styled by Little Shilpa, the line showcased a variety of head-turning avant-garde hairstyles that opened with ‘Metamorphosis’; a play of hair colors, followed by ‘Illusion’; a tryst of hair lengths and textures and ended with the classic ‘Moulin Rouge’; bouffants and updos galore. Twelve models walked the ramp with the spotlight uniquely focused on their hair, punctuating Lakmé Salon’s belief ‘Hair is Fashion’.
The collection took its cues from three different spaces; postmodern Paris, romantic Paris and Moulin Rouge.
Cutting edge hairstyles, and mirror images of opposite hair lengths and textures constituted the first part of the show, ‘Metamorphosis’.
‘Illusion’ inspired by the ‘Northern lights’ phenomenon celebrated the confluence of hair colors.
Finally, red crystal chains around hair cones, coiffures and red crystal nested mohawks recreated ‘Moulin Rouge’ for the show.
Whether drapes of shredded fabric around models in all black, or corsets with micro shorts, Little Shilpa certainly added some interesting design elements that complimented Lakmé Salon’s unconventional hairstyles. Add to that theatrical lighting where the spotlight followed models, furthered the dramatic tone of the show. Little Shilpa also created a special limited edition hair accessory which will be offered to the first 20 Lakmé Salon customers who opt for these newly introduced looks. These pieces have been crafted basis the three themes that were showcased at the show.
At the event, Shailesh Moolya, Creative Hair Director, Lakmé Salons stated that “Lakmé Salon for the first time in India made hair the hero of the show. It was great to see such an outstanding response. Our three creative and trendy hair themes from the ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection will revolutionize hair fashion in the country and are going to make hair the boldest fashion statement. These gorgeous, fashion-forward looks from the runway, in their wearable avatar, will be brought to over 150 Lakmé Salons in 50 plus cities, giving women a chance to experience a new expression of fashion through their hair.”
Little Shilpa says “Styling for Lakmé Salon’s ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection has been a fun and rewarding experience. I believe the brand has revolutionized the hair fashion arena in India by bringing to the fore creative and trendy styles. Lakmé Salon and I share a common belief that “Fashion goes beyond clothing”. Lakmé Salon’s vision of making Indian women runway ready, matches perfectly with my fashion style and statement.”
The collection fluently delivered the message that show stopping fashion begins with hair. The prêt-à-porter versions of the Illusion, Metamorphosis and Moulin Rouge looks from the ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection will be available at over 150 Lakmé Salons in the country.
I would be sharing the images of the prêt-à-porter versions of the Illusion, Metamorphosis and Moulin Rouge looks in the next post.
But this was one unique concept and show. The hairstyles must have taken hours! I actually loved the whole enthusiasm and energy of the models, designer Little Shilpa and Shailesh behind the whole show.
Every lady loves pearls, but gentlemen are tasked with choosing the right pearls as a gift. There are so many different kinds of pearl earrings that men can get confused when they go shopping. The categories below will give men an idea of what they are buying for their ladies, and men can follow the guide to the pearl that they believe their lady will like the most.
Single Studs
Single stud pearl earrings are the most common earrings that men will see in public. There are many women who have worn single stud pearl earrings for almost all their lives. The single stud is a fashion statement that a woman can wear with anything. The choice of size in a single stud is what is most important. Some smaller studs look good on certain women, but larger pearls look better on other women. The choice is down to the earlobe in these cases.
Pearl Sets
When multiple pearls are set together in a certain shape, men can choose a shape that they like the best. Each set is going to be a little bit different, and men can choose a shape that is meaningful to their lady.
Also, gentlemen can get pearls of more than one color in a set. If the lady likes to wear white and black pearls, they can both be found in a single setting.
Strands
A small strand of pearls dropping from the ear is a much more elegant way to wear earrings. These earrings look great with formal dresses, and they work well when women want to dress more whimsically. The strand of pearls that dangles from the ear denotes a pearl lover who does not mind to show it off.
Most women want to have some pearls to wear when they are about town. However, gentlemen may feel intimidated when they are shopping for these pearls. The right kind of pearl setting for the lady depends on her personal style, and men must take style into account before they dare consider a purchase. Choose the right pearls from a place like National Pearl carefully before giving them as a gift.
What do you think of pearl earrings ? I love them!

Hey guys,
I attended the exclusive blogger preview of the Autumn-Winter 14-15 collection of UK’s top brands – Miss Selfridge and River Island on behalf of Jabong.com
During that, I also caught up on the Little Shilpa’s fittings. Loved the 3-4 outfits I saw during the fittings. A red mirror work bustier with maxi skirts, mirror work dresses, etc. But I am more excited about the hairstyles of that show coz its going to be an unique one as the clothing revolves around the hair in this show!

Garnier Pure Active Deep Pore Unclogging Face Wash Review
By Raunak
Garnier Pure Active is a breakthrough formula which has the unique association of two powerful actives – Salicylic acid with powerful anti-bacterial properties, and Herbal repair with natural repairing and regenerating properties. Clinically tested on acne prone skin, it’s maximum strength formula works immediately on imperfections and delivers visible results from day one.
Its Secret? An unprecedented association in the formula which fights imperfections and their marks: • Concentrated Salicyclic acid is one of the most efficient exfoliant actives. • .The proven power of plants: HERBAREPAIR is natural active extracted from VacciniumMyrtillus with exceptional regenerating and skin-repairing properties

MRP: Rs.79/- for 50g
My take:
So after using the product for a while, winters and summers ( hence the time taken for the review),I just wanted to test the credibility of the all product when it comes to using this for oily skin. Because we all know oily and acne prone skin becomes a mess in summers.
Garnier Pure Active Pore Unclogging Wash is a pale blue face wash with liquid like consistency. It lathers easily and washes without leaving any residue. It has got a minty smell and it gives a cool, refreshed, cleansed skin hence I feel its a perfect facewash for the summers. However, I wish that the cool feeling lasted longer.
What the product is good at:
• It smells fresh and minty, which totally freshens me up after a hot day outside.
• The skin is left squeaky clean after using this.
• It’s not drying so will suit dry skin.
• The price is quite reasonable.
• It leaves skin feeling so minty kind of cool (cos of menthol). It’s simply wow.
It does help me avoid new acne but the marks do not go away. And also it is not like it prevents acne completely I still got my once in a while acne. Yes I did. While I can say that I am a fan of their scrub from this range. This one is a miss. The scrub is a HIT.
So after six months of using the scrub and wash religiously, It is a conclusion that the scrub is worth a try for oily-normal skin. But the wash can be given a miss for oily skin type. Can be used for normal skin type.
Thanks again bhumi for sending the products. Hope you all get some insight about these two products after reading my through, lengthy and time consuming ( months….errrr) review.

Experiencing Renault Duster AWD with Blogadda at Lavasa
Hey everyone,
After experiencing the all new Tata Zest at Goa,when I again got a call to experience the all new Renault All Wheel Duster this time at Lavasa, I was all in for it. I was not expecting something so soon though. Blogadda is super quick now 😀
So we left Mumbai yesterday at 4 pm and reached Pune at night. Checked in at Marriott Courtyard, Hinjwadi, Pune. We had our dinner, chilled out a bit at the hotel (also came to know it was Blogadda’s birthday!) and went to our rooms later prepping up (by catching on some sleep :p ) for the adventurous next day.
After the scrumptious breakfast in the morning, we left for Lavasa at 8.30. It took around 2 hours and reached by 11. We took the off-road drive to test the new Renault Duster.
There were 2-3 people in each car. And luckily I sat in a car where Rutavi and Omkar were both amazing drivers. Our car was no. 05. Also famous as the most dirty car at the end of it! 😀 Omkar was the best man for this job. He actually ‘tested’ the All Wheel Duster in the real sense. You know what I mean. I was sitting behind, but I could feel the control and grip of the car.
The car was turning left and right, swish swash in a jiffy. And the brakes are super, I know coz we were in full speed and just about to dash another car, but the Renault Duster’ s brakes and Omkar saved our lives 😀
The Duster AWD offers three modes – two(front)-wheel drive, automatic and manually locked four-wheel drive. Renault says the car should be used in two-wheel drive or automatic mode and the four-wheel drive locked mode should only be used at slow speeds for really heavy work.
We did the mud splash, rocky road trails and some steep climbing. We could actually see what/how well the car can go through these. The new suspension in the AWD is also fabulous. I could hardly feel any bumpers or jerks in like huge speed brakers and potholes.
Drift & mud Splash (This was like a roller coaster ride :p )
Sharp cliff climbing with mud splash (This was the scariest! But it actually went through much easily than expected.)
Some pics of the breathtaking view from Pune to Lavasa and in Lavasa.
We drove till 1.30-45 and were super hungry later. Had our lunch at Fortune Hotel at Lavasa.
And later drove back to Mumbai. Had a pit stop at our favorite Dutta Snacks and had vada pav and tea.
A short fun trip. An amazing experience. The adventurous drive in Renault Duster was the best part. It was frankly, the most adventurous ride of my life, all thanks to Omkar 😀 But, still I enjoyed it.
Thank you Blogadda for having me experience the New All Wheel Drive Renault Duster.
P.S: This blogpost is written as a part of #DusterAllWheelDrive event by Blogadda and Renault India.
