IMBB (Indian Makeup and Beauty Blog) Review About IMBB: Started in 2009 as just a makeup blog, makeupandbeauty.com (a.k.a. IMBB) has today grown into an international makeup, beauty and fashion community. Running three powerful blogs successfully- in India, Dubai and Philippines;- makeupandbeauty.com is already the biggest women’s women focussed blog on the internet with more than 700 writers writing on it.
The founders- Rati and Sanjeev own and manage the blogs with help from Jomol (Chief Editor), Neha (Editor) and and other like minded counterparts in Dubai and Philippines. They also manage a fashion blog (handled by Rati herself) and fitness blog (handled by Nidhi), both of which offer quality content to readers. They are a source of inspiration to many.(PS: I am one of them.) I love that every new latest launch gets covered quickly on the blog..and they are constantly innovating with new ideas and things..and do not let boredom creep in, on the blog. I like the fact that anyone with a pen (or for that matter, a keyboard) gets an opportunity to write and review products. However, the resulting decline in the quality of posts would have been avoided. My humble suggestion would be to tighten the quality filter for third party reviewers. I first discovered IMBB in 2010 and ever since have been following the blog, have commented, interacted and seen them expand and grow. Its quite commendable and their hard work shows. They go out of their way to cover brands and swatches..Kudos to Rati, Sanjeev & team for pulling off such a commendable feat. Managing a blog since 3 years, I can vouch for the hard work that goes in. I have even met Rati at the recent TRESemme event and she is a very warm and sweet person. I would love to meet Sanjeev too once.
One must have stumbled upon IMBB more than once if they have ever googled anything related to makeup or beauty. I am happy to have got a chance to express my opinion about IMBB. P.S: Sponsored Review. Honest Opinion.
Fall Fashion-What’s In and Out in Fall 2013 Guest Post As cooler weather sets in, it’s time to pare down your wardrobe, bringing out the sweaters, boots and more modest clothing suitable for fall. At first it can be hard to stash those sandals and tank tops, but it doesn’t take long to get into the spirit of a nice soft sweater or a pair of killer boots. This fall, look to the hot trends to keep you cozy and covered.
Denim Although it feels wrong at first to pull on a pair of jeans, covering those legs you’ve been tanning and toning all summer long, a new pair of denim can soften the blow. This fall, skinny jeans are back and better than ever. Don a hip-length tunic for a casual look that keeps you comfortable and stylish at the same time. If skinny jeans aren’t for you, try the classic boyfriend cut jean which let your curves do the work.
Color This fall is all about rich, earthy colors. Women will bring dazzle to modest clothing with pops of color. Shades of deep brown and gray were all over the runways this fall. When you feel like brightening your look, opt for deep purple, turquoise or fuchsia. Emerald green has been reported as the hottest color this fall. Pair colors depending on the look you wish to achieve, marrying brighter colors for funkier looks.
Outerwear A beautiful coat or jacket makes braving cooler temperatures a lot easier. You cannot go wrong with fur this season. Dress up a casual look or keep a dressier ensemble classy with a variety of fur coats to choose. You’ll see all sorts of hats this season, from knits to floppy fedoras. Choose the one that speaks to you.
Patterns and Prints Pack away your stripes and floral prints of summer and replace them with fall prints. Classic plaids and hounds tooth patterns are big this season. A surprising new take on leopard print brings color to the forefront. Instead of the classic black and orange leopard print, you’ll see newer versions in pink, purple and blue. Remember to use the print sparingly, choosing one or two accent pieces instead of an entire cat-inspired outfit.
It’s time to lovingly put away those summer clothes and replace them with fall’s modest clothing. Take a trip down memory lane and close the lid until next spring. Have fun this season with these exciting new fall trends.

How to Maintain Weight during Festivities? : The Question That Bothers
Guest Post by Isheeta
You might have gained a few extra pounds during these festivities, and you sure know the coming months aren’t much of a relief either. There are going to be numerous platters of tempting delights, more sweets, more food, more drinks, everything multiplied with the word “more”. And we Indians, when it comes to visiting aunts & cousins, nagging grandmas and maasis__ the needles start spinning on the scales before we even know it.
This is an issue we handle every year end. We indulge, convincing ourselves that there is tomorrow always, but c’mon who are we kidding. Before we know it, it’s Christmas and then New Year’s. Partying, Food, Drinks, and out-of-control Weighing Machines! Here are just a few tips & points to keep in mind to at least Maintain the weight, if not shedding it.
1.Half the Workout is better than No Workout at all!
Try to get at least 20-30 minutes of exercise during the Holidays, weekdays or weekends. Try running on that treadmill that is now a clothes hanger. Or get your act together with a few yoga asanas. Follow suryanamaskaras daily if the time is short, and preparations many and the laze is creeping in. Just get moving! Go for power walks, jog, dance. Anything!
2.Do Not Skip Meals, whatsoever!
Eat your meals. Just because you’d a crappy breakfast this morning, does not mean you eat cake for lunch and let go for the rest of the day. Eat well. Take care that your remaining meals compensate for the crappy breakfast of the morning. Do not skip meals or over-indulge. Moderation is key. Follow portion control, while keeping those taste buds satiated. You had a bad dinner, no problem. Try a fruit salad bowl for breakfast or breakfast smoothies the next morning.
3.Keep Active :
Now is the time to please all the relatives & you folks by keeping on your feet. Run errands, get chores done, decorate dust_ whatever it takes. This with that workout session of the mornings makes a big impact.
4.Drink Plenty of Water :
Yes, now even more. Do not cut down your intake of water or replace them with other liquid drinks & content yourself that you’d the day’s fill. Drink plenty of water to limit your sugary drinks that pack on belly fat. It will also help you eat less & help your body function better.
5.Get Proper Rest :
Get all that rest you probably cringed for during the workdays now. Sleep to keep your metabolism high. This way you will be motivated to workout the next day & not feel lethargic.
6.Choose smaller plates : We all know the golden rule : the 8/9 inch dinner plate size. Eating on smaller plates has been proven to keep you more satisfied than the customary 12 inch plates now used across restaurants and homes.
7.Never end up at a party hungry : Snack a bit before going to the next party in tow. If you go hungry, you’ll be grabbing the bread basket before you know it. Munch on a whole grain granola bar, low-fat yogurt, fruit, veggies or nuts. When you arrive at the party, you won’t be jumping at the hors d’oeuvres.
8.Drink Alcohol, but in moderation : If you are keen on the bar section, go ahead. But keep in mind you are getting empty calories. That will be 7 calories per gram. That’s just 2 short of the 9 calories per gram one gets from Fats. Alcohol also increases the appetite. Remember, moderation is the key.
9.Forgo the sauce : Every menu plan at parties comes with sauces, ghee-laden curries, buttery dips. Avoid them Go for that side of salad that somehow is left out. Grab the vegetable sides. Pile them, your plate will look as full if it were otherwise laden with the sauces & curries.
10. Trick your mind when it comes to Desserts : Ah! The gulab jamuns, ras malais, petha, barfis, kaju katlis & the halwas can create a stampede at the dessert corner. If you cannot resist desserts (like I do!), the do not stop that urge. Portion control is your mantra here. Dish out your dessert in smaller bowls. Don’t worry you’ll be as satisfied. I follow a simple rule when it comes to desserts & I have them post every dinner meal : the 4/5 tblsp per serving. That way my bowl is full, and so is my craving satisfied. Add some fruit slices with a gulab jamun. That way your sweet plate won’t look empty, and you are probably not going to pile on more of those tempting sugar-dipped balls in your plate. Know your sugar rush well.
Remember, Holidays & Festivities are a time to enjoy with family and friends and catch up on all the fun times & relaxation for a healthy working mind & body. Enjoy them well, and plan effective strategies to help you achieve your weight loss goals. Maintaining what you started gives you a better reason to celebrate. Your body tells you when it is full. Heed to that, and there should be no problem. Enjoy your holidays. Cheers & Happy Holidays!

AVON Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel ‘Swift Sherbert’ Review & NOTD Review by Lee
Hellooooo Lovelies,
I’m really excited as this is my first post on New Love-Makeup! I really want to thank Bhumika for giving me such an opportunity. Lately I’ve been feeling very low and sick. I had just recuperated from jaundice when Mr. viral came knocking. I just feel like laying down in bed all day long with all the lights turned off. But one thing that is making me smile in my bad days is the lovely nail paint on my nails which I am going to review today. . It is a beautiful shade called Swift Sherbet’ from Avon.
Price: Rs.199/- for 8ml
Use Before 3 yrs of manufacturing
Product Description: It claims: Avon brings to you the new and improved nail wear that dries and sets in just 30 seconds! Avon’s Speed Dry + Nail Enamel gives you glamorous and flattering nails every day and for any occasion.
Avon recently launched a variety of vibrant shades in their Speed dry+ Collection. They’re very girly and cute and I cant wait to pick up atleast 5. While all the blogosphere is going gaga over the Maybelline Color Show I’m going to introduce an Avon beauty which deserves a lot more attention.
Shade Swift sherbert is a pastel milky peach which makes my nails pop. I’ve always wanted a salmon colored nail paint and this is the closest to it. It can make your hands look a bit dull and dark so those with tanned hands might want to avoid it. Though, personally I love the stark contrast of pastels against tanned/dark hands so its all about personal preference.
Packaging It comes in a small sturdy glass bottle with a black plastic handle. It contains a good amount of product with a decent brush. The brush fans out properly and I can easily cover the nail in 2 swipes.
Texture The texture is nice and of a good consistency. It isn’t watery or runny and has decent pigmentation. 2 coats will easily give an opaque finish . It’s the most pigmented pastel nail paint I have as most pastels Nps are quite sheer.
It does get patchy especially in the first coat but gives an even finish by the second. Surprisingly the 30 second drying part is true and even though I didn’t not exactly time it but it did dry very very quickly. I absolutely hate applying nail paints and waiting for hours(sure feels like it) for it to dry off so a big yay for this one!
It lasted for 3 days without chipping after which I faced minimal chipping. By day 5 it did start to chip quite a bit . However, if you apply this with a top coat you can easily get perfectly manicured nails for 5+ days.
Pros:
1)A unique pastel peach which I haven’t seen in the Indian market yet 2)Does not chip for 5 days with a top coat 3)Decently pigmented 4)Dries very quickly 5)Did not stain my nails 6)The bottle is sturdy and travel friendly
Cons:
1)Gives a patchy finish in the first coat.
Rating- 5/5
Final recommendation- Swift Sherbet is a beautiful pastel peach which grabs attention instantly. It has a nice consistency and lasts a good amount of days. It dries very quickly however it does give a patchy finish in the first coat which is easily rectified by the second coat. If you love pastels then you should definitely give this a try.
Check out the review and NOTD of another shade Orange you Quick HERE
Editor’s Note: I love them too ! They really dry quick..I totally lack the patience and hate the waiting part in drying nail paints..I have tried Orange You Quick from this range and loved it..Swift Sherbert is such a pretty pastel indeed !
I love black dresses..I think I have umpteen of them ! And I just cannot resist any good black dress I see and like..its like I have to get it ! In fact, anything black in clothes..they not only make you look slimmer :D, but have something about them which makes one look chic and stylish..same as crisp white shirt with blue jeans, a LBD (Little Black Dress) is a must have in one’s closet..
I got this black dress and red sandals from Rooja..Keep an eye on their clearance sale..you can find some very good bargains..
About Rooja: Rooja.com is a membership by invitation fashion boutique that holds brand specific sale events at 10 AM everyday. Each sale lasts for a 3 – 7 days and offers up to 60% in discounts. What’s awesome? membership is free!

If you are like me who has umpteen LBD’s :p, you would not mind one more and one more..so today one more LBD is what I am talking about..
This black dress has ruffles sleeves, is straight fit and comes with a beige belt..
I paired it with gold statement necklace and bracelet, Joia red Mojo sandals and a red envelope clutch..you have seen me pair a black dress with red before HERE. I think black with gold accessories and/or red in clutch, shoes, belts, etc looks great and complements well.
My cam has gone mad and just did not focus..I tried rescuing a few pics by giving some effects..I am so fed up of my cam..why is it behaving so weird :/
Revlon Photoready BB Cream, Photoready 3D Volume Mascara and Photoready Kajal Review, Swatches, FOTD
Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector SPF 30
What the Company claims: A lightweight, multi-benefit Beauty Balm that combines skincare, makeup, and sunscreen into one step. – HYDRATES like moisturizer – SMOOTHES like primer – COVERS like foundation – BLURS FLAWS like concealer – PROTECTS with SPF 30 like sunscreen
EXPERT TIPS:
Dab on cheeks, nose, and forehead, and blend outward. Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream™ may be worn alone on bare skin or over your regular skin care for additional moisture. Three versatile shades will adapt to fit your individual skin tone.
Ingredients:
MRP: Rs.550/- for 30ml
It comes in a silver flat tube packaging with a black cap..and a nozzle dispensor..
Its quite thick like a foundation and is very moisturising..would work for people with dry skin..for oily skin, this would turn out to be rich…coverage is pretty ok..suitable for daily use when you don’t need heavy coverage.
It has SPF 30 and many sunscreen ingredients..it also smells a little like sunscreen..stays on for 4-5 hours after which needs touch up..since I am combination skin..my T-zone gets oily and needs touch up.
I have the shade 020 Light/Medium which is a good match for me..
Pros:
1. Nice packaging. 2. Has SPF 30 3. Perfect for dry skin. 4. Travel friendly. 5. Good for daily use..and covers sunscreen needs too.
Cons:
1. Rich for oily skin. 2. Expensive compared to other BB Creams in the market. 3. Coverage could have been better.
Overall I would say its nice to try if you have dry skin and do not need much coverage..otherwise can skip.

Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black
What the Company claims: Get glamorous, big volume lashes from every angle Lashes look 100% more magnified, multiplied, amplified*. Award winning. *with two coats
Unique ultra reflective Mirror Sheen formula smoothes, reflects and magnifies every lash for dramatic, professional looking lashes.
Lash finding brush with rounded tip easily reaches every single lash for maximum dimension. Available in 2 waterproof shades: Blackest Black and Blackened Brown
Also available in 3 non–waterproof shades: Blackest Black, Black and Blackened Brown
EXPERT TIPS
How to get glamorous, big volume lashes: 1) Apply the mascara to the upper lashes from root to tip 2) Apply once again in order to build more volume and length 3) Use specially designed lash finding brush tip to capture and fan out every lash
Ingredients:
MRP: Rs.695/- for 10ml
The tube and wand comes separately in the packaging. As you can see the white wand..bristles are separate and dense.
The same way as the wand is..it separates each lash and coats each lash well..and also lengthens and combs my lashes..the wand is flexible and easy to use and get the right amount of mascara on it..the blackest black is quite a rich black color..and this stays on for whole day..and is waterproof…but did not give much pain to remove.
It does not weigh down my lashes and also gives a little curl and holds onto the curl if you have used an eyelash curler.
I really like this..I am also asked by a few if I am wearing false lashes when I have this mascara on 😀
Only issue is if 2nd coat is applied after the first dries, it starts clumping at times. So you need to apply 2 coats (if you want) quickly and let it dry later. And it feels a little dry on the lashes. And it sure is a little expensive.

Revlon Photoready Kajal 002 Blue Nile Intense Eye Liner + Brightener Evening Opulence Collection What the Company claims: Intensify and Highlight for a Smoldering Look

EXPERT TIPS:
• Apply light end to inner rim of lower lash line to brighten eyes. • Then, apply dark end to upper lash line for rich, intense color. • For added drama, apply kajal to lower lash line, connecting to upper lash line at outer corner of the eye. • To complete the look, use your finger to gently blend the line at outer corners.
Ingredients:
MRP: Rs.395/- for 2.4g
Blue Nile has a creamy ink blue on one end and a creamy white on the other..I am not a fan of such blues..they look pathetic on me :/
I liked the white for the waterline though I would prefer nudes as they are more subtle..can used white at times for a few looks..
Both ends are creamy and do not tug or pull..the blue stays whole day on the upper lashline with minimal smudging..on lower lashline it wears off in 5-6 hours. When blue is used on the lower lashline, it mixes with the white in the waterline and does not look good..I would prefer using the darker color on the upper lashline only.
I would like to try the Black or Emerald (for the nude liner side). Blue is not my color.

It comes in a round huge bottle..15ml is a very good qty. Scarlet Red is a deep pinky red..looks quite pretty..
It gives a nice glossy finish as claimed..and there is no need of a separate top coat…super smooth to apply.
But it started chipping from the tips in 2-3 days and the shine became dull too..
Pros:
1. Pretty pinky red shade. 2. Huge qty. 3. Shiny glossy finish..no need of a separate top coat. 4. Dries fast.. 5. 2 coats give perfect opaque coverage. 6. Smooth and creamy and applies evenly.
Cons:
1. Started chipping from tips in 2-3 days. 2. Expensive at 400 ! 3. Shine became dull later on.
Overall I would say, you can give this a try if you like a particular shade and love glossy shiny nails..but this is surely a little expensive compared to other nail paints in the market…one red is good to have ! I am obsessed with red nail paints and have one from every brand I guess 😀
I quite like Pink Burst and Coral Rush too..
