Immodest is from the latest Illamasqua Spring ’13 Collection I’mPerfection..

It comes in a classic black packaging..with an Illamasqua edge on the ends..

Illamasqua website describes it as Vivid Pink, matt finish..its a true matte finish indeed..

I was surprised at the color at first..coz its a bright cool toned barbie pink..and  I thought it would not suit me..even after the hand swatch..but once applied on lips..it actually looked good and brightened the whole face..it did not wash me out as I expected it to..as generally barbie pink lipsticks do on warmer skin tones..

Quite similar to MAC Silly lipstick..which is an LE..yet to be launched in India..

This shade after seeing a lot of swatches and LOTD’s, I realise is a universally flattering shade..and would look equally good on both fair, medium and dusky skin tones..don’t go by the look of it..

T: 2 swipes, B: 1 swipe

Formula being a powdery matte finish..is very drying..and needs properly scrubbed and well moisturised lips..it does settle into fine lines..and is very unforgiving..not for those with dry lips..

Please excuse my messy hair and no makeup face..I was just playing around with the lipstick..and thought a lip swatch would not do justice to this color..and show as how it actually looks..

Topped with Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia

I wore it as it is…and topped with Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia..a brighter creamier hot pink..I loved the effect..and the color stayed longer too..

Pros:

1. Universally flattering shade.
2. Quite pigmented..two swipes gives fully opaque coverage.
3. Classy packaging.
4. Travel friendly.
5. Lasts for 4-5 hours.
6. Does not tug or pull like normal matte finish.

Cons:

1. Stains unevenly.
2. Quite drying and unforgiving..needs moisturised lips.
3. Not available here..you can buy it online HERE
4. Expensive.

Overall I would say its a perfect matte pink lipstick to have in your stash..I do not have any such shade in my stash..just as a girl needs a matte red like Ruby Woo, she also needs a matte pink..is’nt it ? 😉 Highly recommended.

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Runway Pop Liquid Liner Review, Swatches

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Runway Pop Liquid Liner Tangerine Orange Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: It’s hot off the runway… and guess what? It’s easy to wear every day.

Dare to wear the glossiest vinyl line in the latest fashion shades this season!

Available in 3 shades: Tangerine Orange, Khaki and Teal Blue

MRP: Rs.350/- for 3g

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Black Liquid Liner is already quite a hit all over the blogosphere..now they are back with colored Hyper Glossy Liquid Liners !

They have the same black packaging..but with a colored edge and POP written on the handle..

The brush is normal liquid one..I would have preferred felt tip..but actually this brush is quite nice too and works well..

T:2-3 swipes, B: 1 swipe

Tangerine Orange is a bright metallic orange with gold shimmer.

It is not a shade one wears in day to day life obviously..in fact its the first time I came across an orange eyeliner..but quite apt for the spring ! When paired with some contrasting eye shadows, would look pretty good..It claims to be water proof and smudge proof..water proof it is not..and stays for 4-5 hours..and then starts flaking off…

And I am not too happy with the color getting on my lashes too 🙁 Coz orange becomes too obvious on the lashes.

Here is it on me..

Pros:

1. Long sleek handle…quite easy to use.
2. Brush is nice and sleek.
3. Travel friendly.
4. Economical.
5. Gives full opaque coverage in two swipes.
6. Nice glossy finish.
7. Perfect spring shade..no other brand in India has an orange eyeliner.

Cons:

1. Is not water proof as claimed.
2. Flakes off after 4-5 hours.
3. Gets on lashes.

Overall I do like this opaque formula..and nice sleek brush..and the glossy finish it gives..plus offers some amazing shades..I surely want to check out Khaki..I am a huge khaki fan..only wished it lasted more and did not flake off..I surely recommend this if you into bright colored liners..

Would I buy it again: Maybe the khaki..

FOTD: Gold and Berry Eyes

FOTD: Gold and Berry Eyes for Indian wear

Hey guys, I am back with an FOTD..after many months I guess 😀

I wore a red and green punjabi suit to a friend’s wedding and went the gold and berry way with the eyes..well gold always looks good with our Indian dresses..and a tinge of plum, green or berry pink shades add some color to the gold and the combo looks pretty good..

I used the Sleek MakeUP Sparkle 2 Palette for this look…gold (Gold Ribbon) in the inner half and the berry wine with gold shimmer (Mulled Wine) in the outer half and crease..lined with a black liquid liner, kohl on the waterline and curled lashes and used Deborah Milano Absolute Hi Tech Mascara

Completed it with a rosy pink lipstick and a peachy gold blush..used Sleek MakeUP Rose Gold here..

Did you like it ? What combo do you use with gold ?

Anushree Reddy at LFW Summer/Resort 2013 Photos

Anushree Reddy at LFW Summer/Resort 2013 Photos

I attended the Anushree Reddy show at the Talent Box at the Source..she was a part of Gen Next designers..the upcoming designers get to showcase their collection and have their shows at the Talent Box..

Anushree is a Hyderabad based designer..‘Anushree Reddy’ has a blend of Vintage Flamboyant Flora fused with age old Hyderabadi zardozi to recreate the romantic old world charm. The design philosophy lies in creating elaborate silhouettes brewed with subtle prints, surprising embellishments along with passionate attention to detail. The label stands out for its burst of vivacious colours, drama, glamour, easy to wear pret and uber glam haute couture.A drift of pastels with an allusion of antique royalty is plunged into a burst of flora to present the ‘Dreamy Vintage Princess’ this summer.

There was a combination of lace, gotta patti, shimmer on florals..and the colors were a combo of white, coral, pink, bright yellow and pastels..the floral lining looked great too..overall it was a breathtaking collection..something every girl would want in her wardrobe..

Anushree’s line-up of 12 outfits included saris, anarkalis, lehengas and flimsy jackets in whites and washed out pinks with a touch of vintage rose prints. A perfect combination of Chantilly lace with Nizami zardosi…

She specialises in Indian wear. She retails her signature label from upscale stores in Mumbai (Aza, Fizaa), Delhi (Hauz Khas), Chennai and Hyderabad. One of her outfits was sported by Madhuri Dixit in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

I am in love with her work..truly !

Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013

Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013, Lakme Pro Stylist Lounge

I attended the Pia Pauro/Sanjay Hingu/Komal Sood show yesterday at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 at Grand Hyatt..

Like last year’s Lakme Absolute Fab Lab this time they created a Pro Stylist Lounge

There were pics of Kareena sporting the new Pop Tints..the ad would be out soon..

They always have the makeovers happening at the lounge..and there was a section where the latest Absolute nail tints were being used and the nails were being painted for everyone in very pretty fun bright summery colors..

New Lakme Strawberry Clean up range

I got a bright orange done..sadly she messed it a lil..

Pia Pauro..

Komal Sood..

I got the 2nd row and some very nice shots..her collection surely deserves a separate post..it was breathtakingly awesome..and I think many of us can get some ideas from the collection 😉

So wait for the next posts..

Its a thick white cream with a quite refreshing citrusy smell..but it feels matte and powdery once blended..just like the Pond’s White Beauty Day Cream..so its completely non greasy.

Skin feels well moisturised..and hydrated and supple the next day too.

Pros:

1. Non greasy and sinks into the skin.
2. Leaves skin well hydrated and supple.
3. Skin feels smooth and matte the next day too.
4. Love the citrusy smell.
5. Some ingredients are quite good.
6. Qty is good..you just need a pea sized amount..so would last long.

Cons:

1. Expensive.

3. No major remarkable change.
4. Only key ingredients mentioned.
5. Availability is an issue..only available at Kaya stores or online on kayaclinic.com or healthkart.com

Overall its a decent night cream..keeps skin hydrated and fresh..but do not expect magical results..would suit dry skin more..

MAC Surf Baby Blushette Bound for Love Review, Swatches

MAC Blushettes were a part of the Surf, Baby! Collection..Bound for Love and Barbara Ann were the two shades launched in the collection..

MRP: $21.50 ($18.50 on sale) for 4.2g. Available HERE

It comes in a small swivel twist up tube packaging..like the Lakme Cheek Artist from the Fantasy Collection.

It has a black holder cap on top..so the product does not spread or melt inside..

Barbara Ann is a bright coral orange..looks gorgeous.

Bound for Love is a warm rosey mauve pink with subtle silver shimmer..it gives a natural flush to the cheeks..a soft rosy sheen..can be worn everyday and does not look OTT..

Unblended, Blended

But the shade is a little sheer and needs a few swipes for the color to show up..and staying power is also average..stays for 3-4 hours and then starts fading..

Pros:

1. Easy swivel up stick…comfortable to carry too.
2. Warm mauve pink..would suit medium to fair skintones..gives a nice natural flush to the cheeks.

Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel 74 Review, Swatches

Inglot Matte Collection AMC Eyeliner Gel 74 Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: High intensity pigments provide ideal coverage and rich colors after just one application. The Creamy and delicate long lasting formula dries in 60 seconds to a water, smudge and crease proof finish.

MRP: Rs.680/- for 5.5g

Ingredients:

It comes in a small flat plastic tub packaging with a black cap..has no brush along. Its a cream based eyeliner and not gel based..so its opaque, matte and super creamy..sets super fast and stays on for a good 6-7 hours without budging..it does flake off at times after that..

74 is a gorgeous eggplant plum shade..I love plums..so this shade is more of a weakness for me 😀 I fell for it, the moment I saw it..

Pros:

1. Gorgeous color.
2. Has a super creamy texture and glides well especially on oily lids.
3. 5.5g is a good qty.
4. Inglot is cruelty free.
5. Can be used as an all over base too.
6. Cheaper in price and more in qty than MAC Fluidlines which cost around Rs.1000/- for 3g and L’oreal Super Liner which cost Rs.825/- for 2.8g

Cons:

1. Dries super fast..you need Inglot Duraline to revive its creaminess.
2. It should come with its own brush.

Overall I do love the gorgeous shade..but I am not a fan of cream liners..somehow I find it difficult to work with cream liners..so gel liners for me..But if you are comfortable with cream liners, you should definitely get this shade !

Rating:

Quality: 3.75/5
Value for money: 4/5
Availability: 3.5/5

Overall rating: 3.75/5

Would I buy it again: I am not sure..I prefer gel liners.
