PAC Colorlock Longlasting Lipliners & Matte Eyeshadow Palette Review, Swatches

Hi guys,

So apart from the new Retro Matte Gloss V2.0 (Review HERE), I have also been using the new shade additions in the PAC Colourlock Longlasting Lip Liners and the matte eyeshadow palette since quite some time now, and here are my thoughts..

PAC has Colorlock Longlasting Lip Liners since a long time, they had all shades of reds and pinks earlier. They have added these 6 new shades which are all nudes and browns and perfect for everyday wear and as a base under all lipsticks.

I love the color co-ordinated packaging, they match to shades and are easier to identify. Each shade name is marked in a nice big font on the center, which again makes it easy, rather than trying to read the small font on the edge of the pencil.

They have a black cap and the whole packaging is long, sleek and quite classy. They need to be sharpened, but they are quite easy to sharpen.

They are quite creamy and pigmented and glide on very easily on the lips. The finish is matte and slightly drying, but that makes the staying power longer. They stay for about 4-5 hours minimum.

I absolutely love the new shades, 3 of the nudes are my favourite and I also love the vampy Infinite Kiss. The nude ones would work under all the lipsticks, Forever Fuchsia under pinks and Infinite kiss for deep wine and vampy lipsticks. These would definitely make your lipstick last much longer and help give a nice definition to the lips. Especially on the edges and corners.

But they also work really well on their own, and I pretty much use these on their own. Plush, Beauty Queen and So Spicy are my favourites! I highly recommend this.

Though these are slightly expensive than other PAC lip liners, but the packaging and quality of Colorlock is pretty good. And compared to other brands, these are definitely a lot better.

PAC Matte Eyeshadow Palette

Claims:

I was in love with this no. 2 matte eye shadow palette the moment I saw it! It is every neutral girl’s dream palette! I love warm neutrals and all shades of brown, and you definitely need those for crease, blending and merging other metallic and bright colours.

All the shades of brown in this palette are absolutely perfect for defining crease and outer corners and even lower lashline. These shadows can be used to create any look.

Not only are the shades perfect in colour, but they are also good in pigmentation and are easy to blend. Usually matte eye shadows are chalky in palettes and it is very difficult to get good pigmentation and creaminess when it comes to matte eye shadows. Few shades in Makeup Geek and theBalm palettes are the only ones from what I have tried, which are almost perfect when it comes to matte shadows. I would say PAC did a fabulous job here.

It also has this basic black long strip, coz you need more of black shadow to set your liner and even use as a liner. The pigmentation of this black shadow is mind blowing.

Of course, 1-2 are a little less pigmented than others and they also do have a slight kick back, but they blend very easily and are quick to work with.

I highly recommend this palette, it’s perfect for travel, economical and the only palette you will need, apart from 1-2 other shades to create from neutral day to smokey night to wedding/party or any look.

So today I am reviewing this latest launch by Maybelline India, the Baby Lips Candy Wow in Peach.

Ingredients:

It comes in this pen kind crayon twist up form. Packaging is quite cute, but also a little broader and longer if you want to carry it in your wallet or denims. I usually carry my normal Baby lips in my denim pockets, this is a bit longer to carry around easily.

This is the complete quantity and it is just 2g which will not last really long if you reapply lip balms 2-3 times a day.

Peach is a very light pale peach that will only work for fair skin tones, doesn’t work well on me. Also Peach is not that pigmented.

Orange is a light fanta orange shade

Cherry is reddish shade

Raspberry is a beautiful pink

Mixed Berry is a light purply pink

These are quite pigmented, a little more than few of the original Baby lips. Moisturising and hydrating enough, stay for 3-4 hours. It has a faint candy smell, but doesn’t last long, just for a minute or so.

Difference between Baby Lips and Baby Lips Candy Wow:

  • Price: Baby Lips are Rs.150-175 and this is pricey at Rs.275
  • Qty: Baby lips is 4g and this is just 2g
  • Pigmentation: Baby Lips Candy Wow some shades are more pigmented than Baby Lips
  • Size: Baby lips are more travel friendly and handy
  • Packaging: Baby Lips Candy Wow look cuter with the bright crayon packaging

Overall I would say, if you need something cute and more pigmented than normal lip balms, Baby Lips Candy Wow is a perfect option. If you want something handy and value for money with good qty and affordable pricing, then stick to Baby Lips.

I have seen the swatches online and I love Raspberry and Cherry. Peach is the least pigmented. I definitely recommend checking out or buying Raspberry and Cherry, I am getting those next!

4 Simple Tricks to Maintaining a Fresh Look This Summer

While looking put together for work and social events can feel like a challenge when the thermometer starts to spike, hiding indoors is no way to spend your time. Just because its summer doesn’t mean you need to give up on your makeup routine. Here are 4 simple tricks to keep you looking fresh all summer long without forgoing your favorite beauty products.

1) Make your beauty products work overtime

Avoid piling on too many layers at once by looking for products that can pull double duty. A large variety of items that combine functions, such as moisturizer or toner that contains sunscreen or lip balm with added SPF can be found in beauty products from Nykaa. This will not only save you time in your morning routine, but will make packing your cosmetics bag for your next beach trip or weekend getaway that much easier.

Finding products that offer sheer coverage with less layers will help you avoid the clogged pores that occur when excess makeup meets excess sweat. A natural, subtle glow is popular in the summer so achieving a look that doesn’t feature overdone makeup will keep you on trend as well. To motivate yourself to drink more water, try infusing it with fresh produce such as strawberries or lemons.

3) Start the day right

Get in the habit of applying sunscreen each day. Protecting yourself from sun damage and burns is one of the best ways to maintain healthy, radiant skin, helping you to look gorgeous with or without makeup. ABC News reports that more than a third of adults do not use sunscreen. Given how much is known about the pitfalls of too much UVA exposure, there’s no excuse to be skipping sunscreen. Not only is a burn painful and unattractive, leading to wrinkles, splotches and discoloration, it’s also has a direct link to some forms of cancer, making it dangerous. If you can prevent such severe damage now, you’ll thank yourself later! As an added bonus, sunscreen can be substituted as a primer and will hold makeup in place so there is no excuse to skip it.

4) Damage control

If you did get caught without sunscreen and end up with skin damage there are tricks you can try to minimize the pain and appearance of a bad burn. Prevention Magazine notes there are even quite a few items you’ll find in your own kitchen, such as aloe vera, soy, yogurt and oatmeal. These items can be applied directly to the affected area to soothe the skin and help it repair. If you’re not interested in whipping up a home remedy, look for products from the store with these ingredients. It’s important to avoid anything that contains petroleum as this can trap the heat in your skin and add to your discomfort. While the area is healing, take extra care to protect yourself with sunscreen, clothing and a hat to avoid further damage. With these tips you won’t have to dread the summer weather. You can still maintain a flawless look in the blazing heat. There’s no need to ditch your makeup habit all together, simply look for products that allow you to do more with less to avoid caking and remember to follow preventative measures by moisturizing and applying sunscreen each day. You can treat any burns you do get with home remedies or store bought products. Don’t let the heat wreak havoc on your beauty routine.

I am reviewing the shades Red Delight and Desert Rose today.

At first, many would be confused about the name which says ‘Gloss Addict’ and it is actually a lipstick. The range is called Gloss Addicts and the Lipsticks are a part of this range. These are basically high shine glossy pigmented lipsticks.

They come in a pretty silver packaging with a see through cap. The base is  strong enough, so no fear of breakage as seen in a few lipsticks recently.

It is super glossy and moisturizing. Well pigmented and 2 strokes give you a full opaque color. It stays for 2-3 hours and leaves behind a soft tint and reapplying is easy too. You can apply it on the go, unlike  a few matte lipsticks which need to be applied properly with patience.

Only issue is does not stay that long and might not cover pigmented lips completely especially the lighter shades like Desert Rose here.

L- Red Delight, R- Desert Rose,

Red Delight is a pinkish red shade with some fine shimmer. This shade would work on all skin tones. And it is one easy to carry red. If you are just starting with reds and don’t want to jump on the bold reds, this lipstick is for you. It brightens the face instantly.

U- Desert Rose, D- Red Delight

Desert Rose is a light rosy pink shade. Would suit medium to fair skin tones. It gives a fresh look to the face and is a good shade for daily wear. But not meant for pigmented lips, as won’t show up much.

And here are these on moi..

L- Red Delight, R- Desert Rose

Pros:

1. Super glossy.

2. Pigmented.

3. Very hydrating.

4. Comes in 15 rich shades and has all pinks, nudes, reds, corals,etc

5. Travel friendly.

6. Easy to use on the go.

Cons:

1. Expensive and the qty is less too.

2. Lighter shades won’t show up on pigmented lips.

Overall, I would say these are good for someone who loves glossy lipsticks. I do. Also these are so easy to use, you can just carry one along and apply it in the car,cab,auto, etc. Very pigmented and hydrating and come in an array of 15 pretty,fresh,wearable shades.

My other favorites are Berry Rose, Plum Perfect (perfect plummy pink) and Orange Candy (a very wearable coral orange).

There are more matte shades in this palette..and though they look bright in the pan, they are quite wearable and easy to carry shades. Also, not all mattes are chalky and some are very decently pigmented, but some have to be packed on quiet a few times for the desired intensity.

Its a nice blend of colors, and perfect pool party/beach holiday palette. And appropriate for the Summer launch too. I do like peaches and corals and they look pretty good when combined with the right colors. I would not say this palette is a must have, but if you love summery bright colors, then it can be a good addition to your stash !

I like how they have different tabs for individual items like earrings, necklaces, gifts, offers, etc.

‘New In’ tab has their latest collection and they also have bifurcation with Product Type, where they have Eid Collection, Heritage Collection, Spunky Collection, etc.

They have a new Sale section, Flat 50 Store, Editor’ pick Section, New In, Bridal section, etc.

I love the pieces in the Editor’s pick section. And the Flat 50 store is the best. There are some steal deals you just cannot resist. I have already added a few in my wishlist option on the site and planning a haul soon. I think the Flat 50 section is definitely one should not miss !

Currently, Sia has 25 stores all over India. They accept all forms of payment but do not have Cash on Delivery yet sadly. I hope they start that soon. The shipping charges are Rs.95/- per 500g within India and for international orders, depending on the country. I am glad they ship internationally too. If any of you live outside India and want to buy some good Indian jewellery, then now you know where to shop from ! Shipping within India takes 3-4 days.

I think its very helpful for someone who does not have a Sia store around their location. And for lazy bums like me who prefer online shopping. And I have also found some better steal deals at times online 😉

My Travel Look and Revlon Travel Makeup Essentials

Ok, so I am not travelling anywhere right now :p But, I would love to share my travel look with you guys.

If I am given a choice, I would love going to Paris, not that I do not like beaches, (infact, anytime up for Goa :D) but Paris would be the first preference anyday !

I feel Paris deserves a glamorous look. And for me, gold and fuchsia pink combo, is totally glam ! I love pairing gold/bronze/copper eyeshadows and fuchsia pink lipsticks. It comes in the trademark Illamasqua packaging. Looking at it first, I could’nt make out its a cream finish coz it looked just like powder.

Its a cream to powder finish. As soon as you blend it, the color is completely dry and matte and stays put throughout the day.

This is not those creamy, melt in your face or give a soft, dewy look kinda blush. Its matte and looks as good as any powder finish blush.

Flirtatious is a perfect peachy, pink shade. It gives that nice, healthy glow to the cheeks. This is one shade and finish, which would work for all skin tones and on all skin types, be it oily or dry.

I am in love with it..and eyeing more from this Velvet Blusher range. Other shades available in the Velvet Blusher range are Conviction, Sleek and Peaked.

OOTD: Studded White Top, Coral Slit Maxi Skirt

Hey guys,

Back with an OOTD. Most of you love my striped skirt and sandals in my previous OOTD. I love them too !

Also, I love this high waisted coral half sheer maxi skirt with a thigh high slit. Its so summery and I love the coral color <3.

I paired it with a white studded top..studs on the pocket and shoulders. It can be formal and/or casual depending on how you team and wear it..very versatile.

Merged the two with a broad stretchable black statement belt with gold detailing on the front. Kept the accessories minimal..went for this black choker necklace with little danglings and a gold hollow out cuff. I went for a sleek, low ponytail with middle parting.

Since its white and coral, I added some animal print touch with my leopard print sandals.
