Top 15 NYX Products Available in India, Prices

By Sanchita

Hello everyone. It’s been a long time I did a top10/12/15 post for a particular brand and this time I am going to do a top 15 for NYX. As we all know that NYX has been officially launched in India and they had a grand opening of  their first store at Shoppers Stop in Bandra, recently in Mumbai. Also, the products are available online on Nykaa and majority of the time, the products are sold off. This is because the brand is immensely popular and the products are worth stealing! In fact, they also have dupes of many high end brands.

Since it is officially available in India so it is the best time to give you all a compilation of the best products. Initially I thought of doing only 10 but I figured out it is literally impossible and thus I ended up with top 15 products. Read on to know more about them.

1. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – 600 INR

This is one of the best sellers of NYX and every shade is a matte lover’s dream lip color. As the name suggests, it is a lip cream with doe footed applicator that dries off flat matte without stretching the lips or making you feel uncomfortable. These lip creams have a velvet smooth touch and has a sweet vanilla kind of fragrance. The pigmentation is top notch and lasts long on the lips. You can also layer a gloss or lip balm underneath to make it more hydrating.

2. NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick – 850 INR

Matte lipsticks are a rage right now and every brand is coming up with something. Apart from the Soft Matte Lip Cream, they have the Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick as well. The texture is slightly richer than that of the previous one and the pigmentation is commendable with single swipe as they don’t apply patchy at all. This waterproof product is infused with avocado oil and Vitamin E and thus doesn’t accentuate on fine lines. There some quirky colors like bright purple, black, dark navy colors are there in the collection. They look opaque and dries to matte. Also, the colors are waterproof and long lasting on lips.

3. NYX Intense Butter Gloss – 575 INR

Not everyone loves matte and so NYX has the Intense Butter Gloss which shall be the dream of gloss lovers. The packaging is similar to the Soft Matte Lip Cream. The texture of the product is something between gloss and liquid lipstick and it glides on the lips easily and gives an even finish. The pigmentation ranges from medium to full and it is great when layered on top of a lip liner. It gives a gorgeous shine to the lips and hydrates it for long. The only con is that it transfer, just like any other gloss lip color.

4. NYX Slim Lip Pencil (450 INR) and NYX Slide-On Lip Pencils – 800 INR

NYX has two lip pencils – the slim ones and the Slide-On. The Slim Lip Pencil are insanely famous for the color collection and affordable quality. It glides on the lips like a dream and gives a nice base for lip colors. The Slide-On Lip Pencils are much richer in texture and extremely long lasting on the lips. The pigmentation is also great and helps the lip colors to pop up easily. The colors are slightly restricted in India and I hope they launch all the colors soon.

5. NYX Wonder Pencil – 600 INR

As the name suggests, it is surely a wonder one. The pencil is versatile and can be used in various ways. It is sharpenable and has a smooth texture. You can apply on the water line to make the eyes look bright or to apply in the inner corners and brow bone, use the pencil around the lips to prevent the lip color from bleeding and also to make the lips look fuller. The pencil can also be used to hide minor imperfections on the skin and thus it is surely a must have product for every makeup lover. You can also use it as an eye shadow base as well.

6. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil – 550 INR

This is another bestseller from the house of NYX. Eyeshadow crayons are becoming a cult product day by day and we couldn’t be gladder when NYX launched this in India. These shadow crayons are soft and smooth in texture and thus glides on the eyes like a dream and also blends very easily. These can be used as eye shadow base or even as eye shadow as well. However, there are only few colors launched in India. The color black bean and milk are the must-have ones in the collection.

7. NYX Tinted Brow Mascara – 600 INR

Brow pencils and brow pomade are fine but what happens when you hardly have the time to shape the brows? You need a brow mascara to swipe over the brow to give a naturally fuller look and also less time consuming. This is available in 4 shades and will definitely suit the Indian skin tones. It is nicely pigmented and fills the gaps well and also tames the brow hair as well. The wand is an excellent one and this is another must have product from the collection. I have been using it for some time and I absolutely love the application.

8. NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette – 1725 INR

An eye shadow palette is a must have product and it feels so good to have all the colors inside a single palette which would save a lot of time and money for us. The Ultimate Shadow Palette comes in 16 shades and has been introduced in 3 variants for your choice. From neutral to smoky and vivid bright color – it has everything to look for. The texture is velvety-rich, nicely pigmented and the finishes is from mattes and satins to shimmers and metallic. Overall, you would love the palette if you are an eye makeup lover.

9. NYX Micro Brow Pencil – 875 INR

This little beauty is the dupe of the much raved Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. This one has spoolie on one end and the brow pencil on the other end. It can draw the thinnest possible lines and will give you a very precise application. It coats even the finest hairs with color for a natural-looking finish and works great. The shades are good and will suit the Indian skin tones well. The texture is neither too creamy nor pigmented to make you look crazy or very light – but has the right formula. It glides easily and stays long well. The only con is that it is slightly pricey.

10. NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner – 700 INR

Graphic eyeliners are becoming a statement and what can be better than a vivid bright eyeliner? We are surely done with black and brown for the time being and it’s time to try out the quirky bright eyeliner from NYX. It comes in a slender packaging with only 3 colors that are launched in India for now. The texture is nice and applies evenly with the precise applicator brush. The pigmentation is great, the finish is matte and it also dries down quickly. It is also water proof and extremely long lasting.

11. NYX Slide On Eye Pencil – 825 INR

The NYX Slide On Eye Pencil has a sharpenable body with soft and creamy texture that glides on the eyes like a dream, without tugging and pulling. The formula is great to work with and doesn’t smear or smudge and delivers powerful, saturated color. The finish is satin-matte and also very long lasting on the eyes. It will not irritate the eyes and also remain water proof and smudge proof.

12. NYX Conceal, Correct, Contour Palette – 1325 INR

The NYX Conceal, Correct, Contour Palette is the ultimate one to make you base makeup on point. It is available in various shades and a close dupe of MAC Pro Conceal and Correct Palette. It has 6 shades each in a palette and the palettes ranges from light to deep with a colored corrector one as well. They are light weight and creamy and blends on the skin easily. You can use it in a number of ways and does not cake up on the skin at all. The price is also very economical for 6shades.

13. NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator – 850 INR

The Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator is another amazing product from NYX and it gives such a radiant touch to the skin. it is available in 4 shades and has a tube packaging. The formula is light weight, almost like gel cream and glides and blends with fingers as well. They do not accentuates to dry skin and provides a detailed illuminate look for every occasion. It also acts as a primer and lasts long on the skin without feeling greasy at all. It is a nice dupe for many strobe creams in the market.

14. NYX HD Finishing Powder – 825 INR

A translucent finishing powder can transform your whole look and NYX HD Finishing Powder is the perfect dupe. The formula is fine milled and it helps to soften the appearance of fine lines and pores. The silky powder gives a light weight feel and it is great for baking the concealer as well. It doesn’t leave behind whitish cast and an excellent one for photographs. It sets the makeup very well and never accentuates the fine lines. Also, the little jar will last you a long time.

15. NYX Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray Matte Finish – 825 INR

A finishing spray ensures that your makeup will last the whole day and just won’t melt down. It forms a protective film on the makeup, great for oily skin and sets the makeup to matte without being cakey or dry at all. it is a great product for waterproof or mineral based makeup on skin and the effect lasts for about 6-7 hours easily.

Editor’s Note: I absolutely love the Soft Matte Lip Creams and Liquid Suede Lipsticks. The Wonder Pencil and Brow Mascara are on my wishlist too.

So, which is your favorite NYX product?

MAC Matte Lipstick Whirl Review, Swatches & Dupe

MAC Matte Lipstick Whirl Review, Swatches & Dupe

By Linda

Hello Ladies,

While I go shopping I make it a point to try various lipsticks but somehow don’t know why I end up purchasing a MAC lipstick only, maybe it’s because of the variety of shades suiting most of the skin tones.

So this review is about another MAC lipstick, from the Matte Lip collection in the shade WHIRL. There is a lip liner also available in the same shade. I found the lip liner to be too dry on my lips as compared to the lipstick. So let’s go ahead with the review.

What MAC Claims and Packaging: Dirty Rose with Matte finish. The lipstick is packed in a Classic MAC matte black and silver lipstick container with the shade mentioned at the bottom.

Price: Rs 1450/- for 3g (I believe it is increased to Rs.1950 now :/)

My take on MAC Whirl Lipstick

MAC claims the shade as dirty rose but in simple words I can say this is a mauve brown neutral shade. The content of brown is little on the higher side so it can tend to look darker under natural light. The texture is creamy on application, glides smoothly to give a matte finish on the lips. This shade would go well on medium skin tones to fair skin tones but I’m really not sure how it would go on dusky to dark skin tones. If you are confused on which lipstick shade to wear, be safe and wear a neutral shade, in such cases I definitely would recommend MAC Whirl.

I’m not happy with the stay power, as after meals, the lipstick completely vanished from my lips. May be prior prepping and a whirl lip liner would help the product to last longer or you got to retouch your lipstick after every meal. You can wear this shade at your work place as well as on any other occasion. It does accentuate the lines on my dry lips. The coverage is good and I mostly wear it without the lip liner as it doesn’t bleed.

TIP: Trying using this shade along with MAC Mehr or MAC Brave, or any lip liner close to old rose shade. I bet the mixtures of colors will give an awesome result.

Definitely there is something about MAC Whirl, as when this shade was launched it was sold out in no time.I got my hands on this almost after a year.

Pros:

  • Best for work place
  • Good coverage
  • Creamy texture
  • Suits most of the skin tones.
  • Glides on smoothly
  • Looks best along with an old rose lip liner or lipstick.

Cons:

  • Poor Staying power
  • A little heavy on the pockets (as many neutral shades are easily available)
  • Might accentuate the lines on the lip (mostly on dry lips)

Rating: 3.5/5

Would I repurchase WHIRL Mac Lipstick? Not so sure, as there are many shades of neutrals in MAC, would like to try those.

Dupe Alert: Rimmel London Kate Nude Lipstick in 48 is an exact dupe of MAC Whirl! Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Nude Nuance is also a close dupe

Editor’s Note: I quite like the shade, this is really pretty and perfect for all skin tones! MAC Whirl Lip Liner is what Kylie Jenner loves and uses a lot, so it’s always sold out most of the times 😀

Himalaya Herbals Under Eye Cream Review

Himalaya Herbals Under Eye Cream Review

By Simran

Hello everyone!

I believe, eye creams should be a mandatory part of every girl’s skin care routine.  The skin around the eyes is more fragile, more prone to dryness, and quicker to show age and fatigue.

Squinting and constant movement of the eyes also hasten the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and fluids collect under the eyes and cause puffiness and dark circles. Eye creams can address some of these issues.

Eye creams are formulated specifically for the delicate skin around the eye, so they tend to be thicker. They contain more oil than a regular facial lotion, and they have a lot of active ingredients aimed at the problems we see around the eyes.

So, today I will be reviewing my trusted eye cream which I have been using for more than 2 years; The Himalaya under eye cream.

Claims: Himalaya Under Eye Cream clears under eye circles, pigmentation and blemishes. It also brightens and smoothens the areas around your eyes reduces dark circles by 80 percent in just 4 weeks, reduces under eye wrinkles and fine lines by 28 percent in just 4 weeks, brightens and smoothens eye contour.

Ingredients:

How the cream works: This under-eye cream comes with breakthrough herbal ingredients of Bergenia Ligulata and Cipadessa Baccifera, which actively fight against the appearance of dark circles and shield the sensitive skin around your eyes from harsh sunlight. Your skin must be free of toxins and be moisturised to sustain a healthier look without wrinkles and fine lines. Himalaya Eye Cream detoxifies and moisturises your skin, thereby rejuvenating your eyes. Consistent use of this cream can make your eyes stay wrinkle free and youthful.

Price: INR 165 for 15ml (Buy HERE)

Packaging: The product comes in a simple tube form which makes the handling of the product easier. You can directly apply the product on your under eye area from the tube. The packaging is not anything fancy but very sturdy.

My take on the product: The reason that I have been using the product for more than 2 years is enough to say that the product is amazing. The texture of the cream is light so it won't feel heavy underneath your eyes.

My eyelid area used to feel dry but after using this cream, the problem was solved. I never used eye creams until I started seeing some puffiness around my eyes. The product targets the puffiness and fine lines around your eyes and it takes about 30-45 days for your under eye issues to vanish.

I never suffered from dark circles but my mother did, and after about 2 months of the using the product continuously, her dark circles almost vanished. You can see visible results in about a week of using the product. You only need a little amount of the product so, one tube will last you a very long time. It lasts me for about 3-4 months.

Pros:

-decently priced

-sticks to its claims

-light texture & easily absorbed

– convenient packaging

Cons:

– has parabens

Rating: 4/5

If you’re searching for an affordable eye cream which actually works on dark circles or fine lines, you should absolutely give this cream a try.

Editor’s Note: This sounds pretty good Simran

Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set Review

Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set Review

By Sanchita

INTRODUCTION – Brushes are the best investment for makeup and it is very important to buy good quality long lasting brushes. When I say good brushes, all I can think of is MAC, Sigma, Inglot or Zoeva. Now, most of the brands are unavailable in India or too costly for a beginner.

But, Real Techniques brushes are both inexpensive as well as have great quality. After using their Expert brush and Powder brush, I picked up the Core Collection Brush Set at a recently sale. Here is my review after using it for a month.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Create a perfect canvas with our core collection of coverage essentials.

  • Contour brush: delicately applies highlighter to the cheekbones for a sheer, soft-focus contour.
  • Pointed foundation brush: unique cut for use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage
  • Detailer brush: precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition.
  • Buffing brush: ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation.
  • Panoramic case: dual carrier and stand keeps brushes organized on your counter or on the go. Also perfect for drying brushes upside-down.

PRICE – 2353 INR (Buy HERE)

MY REVIEW

Packaging – The Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set comes in a black panoramic case which is very sturdy. It has a Velcro lock system and has a light weight feature as well. The brush can be stored inside the elastic bands which helps to hold the brushes. It is so easy to store as well as travel with this case. If you are taking a short trip, I would highly recommend this set as it caters the basic needs for base and lips makeup. Coming to the brush, they are packed in the typical ‘RT’ packaging. All the four brushes has the burnt bronze ferrules with black silicone handles for easy grip. The overall look for the case and brushes has a very ascetically pleasing yet a professional touch which I love a lot. The brushes are not unnecessarily bulky and is also light weight. All in all, the packaging is surely a thumbs up.

Bristles – This is one quality of Real Techniques brushes which make me go weak for them. The bristles are made of synthetic taklon and 100% cruelty free. The brushes are a dream to touch and has the extra plushy feel to it. This is why it applies and blend the products like a dream. Also, every brush is hand cut and the shape is so perfect that it can be put it a number of uses.

Brushes in details –

Contour brush – The contour brush is a gem! It comes with a round base and tapered top and fits so perfectly on the hollows of the cheeks. I used to use the angled brushes before but this one blends like a dream. In fact, it has various uses as well. The shape of the brush is neither small nor big and thus you can use it for various ways as well. Firstly, I use to blend the highlighter and it flawlessly blends both powder and cream products. You can also apply the blush precisely on the apple of the cheeks or when you simply want a flush of color. The brush has a fluffy nature and can be used to swipe off powder on the areas like under the eyes without poking the sensitive area at all. You can also blend bronzers on the forehead and sides of the face as well.

Pointed foundation brush – This is the least favorite of mine in the kit and definitely a decent one. The brush has a pointy head with a flat base. It resembles the general flat foundation brush but is much smaller in size. Due to this, it can only be used to apply the foundation of concealers but blending will take forever. Due to the small size of the brush, I use it to apply and blend concealer under the eyes using light pat motion. You can also use it to apply powder for baking the areas where you have applied concealer. Highlighting with this brush is also an easy task and I apply powder highlighter on the difficult areas like bridge of the nose, inner corners, etc.

Detailer brush – This is my favorite brush and I am so in love with it! A small detailer brush is important in every makeup kit and if the bristles are as soft as these, you have to love it. The detailer brush is very small with a flat edge and tapered top – pretty much like a miniature version of the pointed foundation brush in the set. This brush is a life saver when you want to spot conceal any flaw, correct that wing liner or apply concealer around the mouth. It reaches up to every difficult corner and blends beautifully. I have applied eye shadows with this and both cream and powder applies seamlessly. You can also apply and blend colors on the lash line and inner corners as well. This brush can also be used for the lips as well. Overall, it is a multipurpose one.

Buffing brush – RT Buffing Brush is a famous one. This brush is the largest of the four and has a round base with the fluffy top and great for buffing any cream, liquid or powder foundations. It blends out everything evenly and properly as well. The brush seems to be a sister of the RT Expert brush which is slightly dense and tightly packed than this one but performs more or less same. This Buffing brush works great for blending the bronzer or contouring as well. You can even use it to blend blush or highlighters. While blending and buffing everything, the brush reaches out to the corners as well due to the fluffiness and softness of the bristles.

Durability – If a makeup brush isn’t durable, it is no point using it. However, with RT the story is different, the brushes are extremely sturdy and nice to deal with. I have been constantly using them for a month now and till now have washed 3-4times. The brushes have never shed a single bristle, lost the shape or even cleans up pretty well. I generally use the baby shampoo and swirl on the palm to clean it properly. The bristles are synthetic taklon bristles and thus one you soak all the water on a cotton tee, the brush around 1hr to dry (small brushes take less than an hour) overall. Therefore, I am extremely pleased to use these Real Techniques brushes.

OVERALL- The Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set comes with four brushes with multipurpose use of them and works like a charm for everyone. The bristles are soft, well-trimmed and blends everything profusely. Be it a beginner or professional, this is kit is highly recommended.

WHAT I LIKED

  • Sturdy case and brushes.
  • All the four brushes has the burnt bronze ferrules with black silicone handles.
  • The set has all 4 brushes – contour, foundation, buffing and detailing.
  • Multipurpose use.
  • Extremely durable brushes.
  • Never sheds a single bristle or loses the shape.
  • Easy to wash and dry.

WHAT I DISLIKED

  • None.

RATING – 9/10

Editor’s Note: You know I have been wanting to try RT brushes since a long time, but now I have too many other brushes. I might in the future. Loved the review and pictures.

Dabur Active Blood Purifier Review

Dabur Active Blood Purifier Review

By Archana

Hi all,

Today’s review is on a slightly different product, not the regular skincare and haircare stuff. Its a health supplement which helps in giving clear and glowing skin. Dabur is a trusted brand when it comes to health and personal care products. And this new product by them claims for “a pimple free skin with natural glow” in just 7 days! Naturally, I was intrigued by this claim and bought the product blindly. Read on to know whether Dabur Active Blood Purifier satisfies its claims or not.

Products claims: Dabur Active Blood Purifier purifies blood to give you pimple free skin with natural glow. Its natural formulation works from inside to purify blood and attacks bacteria so that the blood gets purified and there is improvement in pimples or other skin ailments.

• It promises start of action within 7 days

• Prevents recurrence of pimples

• Pimple free skin with natural glow

• Goodness of Honey for excellent taste

• Safe & effective

Price and quantity: Rs.95 for 200ml (Buy HERE for Rs.80)

Key Ingredients:

Manjistha: It is beneficial for skin health. It acts as a rejuvenator and has inflammatory and analgesic properties.

Khadira: Known for its blood purification properties. The name Khadira literally translates to the one that destroys disease and brings stability to the body.

Shveta Sariva, Nimba, Madhusnuhi, Haridra, Guduchi and Madhu.

Directions to use: (Adults) 2 tablespoonful (10ml) twice daily or as directed by the physician.

Packaging:

The syrup comes in a glass bottle with a metal screw lid. The bottle is housed in an outer carton which details all about the product. I wish there was a measuring cap with it so that we can measure 10ml. The packaging comes in 2 sizes – 100ml and 200ml.

Texture and fragrance:

The syrup is dark brown in color and resembles a cough syrup. It has a herbal fragrance mixed with honey which is soothing to the senses.

My experience:

I started drinking this syrup twice daily – once in the morning and once in the evening. I drank it before having breakfast or dinner on an empty stomach for more effective results. The taste is little herbal and little sweet due to the presence of honey. It tastes very much like the Himalaya cough syrup. Unlike other health supplements which I had to force down my throat, I actually liked this taste and am glad that they have added honey. As without honey, am sure it will taste horrible. At the time I started drinking this, I was suffering from heavy acne, dryness and pigmentation issue. Which was why I bought this in the first place. I was waiting for 7 days as mentioned. But I couldn’t notice any effect at all. I mean no effect, nothing and nothing at all. I waited 10 days. Still no results. I was totally disappointed. I thought just drinking Patanjali Amla Juice would be more effective than this as I have done in the past. But Patanjali Amla Juice has a very bitter taste and I had to force myself to drink it everyday.

After 10 days, I gave up hope and was simply drinking to finish the bottle. By the end of the month, I could see my pimples clearing up. Maybe you can argue the pimples cleared up on its own and its not the effect of the product. But unlike usual times, this time the pimples didn’t leave behind any marks or scars. And I could also see a nice healthy glow in my skin. Similar to the effect I got with Patanjali Amla Juice. Also, I used to face regular acidity and gastric problems. But after a month of drinking Dabur Active Blood Purifier, they reduced. In my opinion the product works, but it takes more time and is slower than similar products. But it tastes better.

Pros:

* Nice sweet taste due to the presence of honey.

* Easy to drink.

* With regular use, gives natural glowing skin.

* Pimples are cleared without leaving behind any marks.

* Reduces acidity and gastric problems.

* Impressive ingredients list.

* Affordable.

Cons:

* Takes time to show results.

Rating: 4.5/5

Verdict: Overall, Dabur Active Blood Purifier is a good health supplement for clear and glowing skin. And also for general health and wellbeing. Unlike other health supplements, it tastes good due to addition of honey. It takes time to show results but is worth the wait.

Must Have Makeup Products for Monsoon

Must Have Makeup Products for Monsoon

Hi guys,

India is one country which has three seasons and rains/monsoon are the most integral middle season. We love it, hate it, but we cannot ignore it. And cannot not get drenched once, come what may. Because whenever you carry an umbrella, it will never rain while when you don’t as it’s very sunny, it will surely rain! Murphy’s laws :/

Anyhoo, since we cannot avoid it, we should be well prepared for it. Your makeup needs some change too in the monsoon, as you don’t want heavy foundations or makeup meltdown in monsoon.

Primer, makeup setting spray and waterproof makeup is the solution against monsoon 😀 Here are few of my makeup must haves for monsoon season:

1. Primer: A primer is very essential as it not only smoothens the pores and make your foundation glide seamlessly, it also holds your makeup in place in sweat & humidity. I am currently loving the Sephora Smoothing Primer and Make Up For Ever Step 1 Smoothing Skin Equalizer.

2. Concealer/BB cream: Now you do not need heavy foundation in monsoon as it’s bound to be humid and sticky too. Concealers/tinted moisturisers/BB creams are your best friend in monsoon. I love the Ponds BB Cream and the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Concealer. These are my go to, keep the makeup in place and are not at all heavy. The concealer also instantly brightens my under eyes.

3. Cream Blushes/Highlighters/Cheek & Lip Stains: Go for cream to powder finish products in monsoon or tints. They are not too heavy, give a soft and dewy finish and the color/tint stays put through the day. I love the Kryolan Lip & Cheek Stain, Faces Ultime Pro Metalliglow Highlighter in Champagne, The Body Shop Cheek & Lip Stain

4. Eyebrow pencil/pomade: If you use eyeshadow to set your eyebrows, you will need to set them with a wax or they would obviously wash away in monsoon. I would suggest using a pencil/pomade as they are more waxy and keep the eyebrows in place. I like the Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper

5. Waterproof Eyeliner & Mascara: Need I say more for this? You don’t want to end up with panda eyes, having eyeliner & mascara all around 😀 Maybelline Magnum Barbie is completely water proof!

6. Matte Liquid Lipsticks/Lip Crayons: Creamy lipsticks would bleed and be all over your face, if in case you get drenched. Matte liquid lipsticks are the safest bet and also they are very much in trend these days! I love Chambor Extreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipsticks & Colorbar Kiss Proof Liquid Lipsticks. Also Matte Lip crayons are a good option, I like the Maybelline Lip Gradation.

7. Loose Powder: Compact powder would slip in humid climate, but a loose mineral powder works well for monsoon. Also if you have baked your face and especially undereyes, it will stay put through the day! I am currently loving the Faces Mineral Loose Powder.

8. Makeup Setting Spray: And to set it all, a makeup setting spray. My favourite is the Colorbar Stay the Day Finishing Mist.

9. Bright Nail Paints: Wear all your reds, oranges, blues. Bright nails and monsoon go hand in hand.

So yes, with these changes in your makeup, you are all set to face the monsoon!

All the pictures in this post are clicked with the new Coolpad Mega Selfie Maker 2.5D! It has 8MP front camera and 8MP rear camera! I absolutely love the Royal Gold Color, and it is not at all heavy for 2500 mAh battery.

The pictures are vivid and true to colour! They have not been edited at all, only resized so that the post doesn’t take long to load. It is standard 5.5 inch screen and looks super stylish and expensive! 16GB internal memory and 3GB RAM, it supports dual 4G too.

Let me tell you the price, I am sure you won’t believe it! It is priced at INR 6999 only!!! I can say this is the best budget smartphone I have come across!

The sale starts on 24th August, you can register for it right now, go HERE

Lakme CC Color Transform Cream Beige, Bronze Review & Demo

Lakme CC Color Transform Cream Beige, Bronze Review & Demo

Hi guys,

As some of you wanted a review on these new Lakme 9 to 5 Color Transform CC Creams, here you go..

What the Company claims: Tired of using a bunch of different products every day to get that perfect look, what if you could have your fairness cream, moisturizer, sunscreen and concealer all in one seamless CC cream. It’s time to toss the clutter aside and make way for first colour changing CC cream from the house of Lakme.. Lakme’s first advanced fairness cream that changes color as you blend, to give a make-up finish.

Key Ingredients: Water, Color changing beads, UVA & UVB Sunscreens.

Ingredients:

Warning: Avoid contact with eyes. Wash your eyes thoroughly with clean water in case of eye contact

It Instantly:

  • Brightens
  • Conceals
  • Evens Skin Tone
  • Moisturizes
  • Protects against sun with SPF 30 PA++

Shades Available: Beige, Bronze

MRP: Rs.325/- for 30g (Buy at Rs.260 HERE)

I think they have discontinued the previous CC Cream, since that was in two shades Beige and Bronze and I was in middle, I could never use it much. Beige was light for me and Bronze was dark for me.

Thankfully, with this Color Transform Cream, it blends and matches your skin tone, so I need not worry about it being light or dark. Bronze will definitely be darker for me though but the Beige one matches me well.

It comes in a similar tube packaging but in an ombre white to nude pink color, representing the color transform. It comes out as a white cream with tiny, little grey-black beads in it. They do not feel like beads or gritty since they are very minute. But those help in actually transforming the cream. Once you apply and blend it onto the skin, it changes color and matches your skin tone. Both shades look exactly the same in swatch, but once blended you can notice how beige is light and bronze is darker.

Bronze, Beige

Beige is perfect for fair to medium skin tone and Bronze is perfect for medium to dark skin tones. I am glad they have strong beige yellow undertones and are perfect for most Indian skin tones. Though if you are cool toned or pinker, this might look a little yellow on you.

Watch detailed video and demo here..

This cream instantly brightens and evens out the skin, as claimed. It does feel moisturizing and also gives SPF30 PA++ protection. Though this will not cover your dark circles or blemishes, you will have to use a concealer separately on top for that. You also need to set this cream with a powder since it is on the heavier side.

But once set, it stays put for a good 6-7 hours, only needs a powder touch up in between. I do use a concealer for under eyes and a powder separately, but I do see myself using this a lot for everyday basis.

I totally recommend this for college and work wear. This is perfect for everyday use and with the online discount, it turns out to be pretty economical and gives sunscreen protection with PA++ too.

If you do not like using separate products and love multi tasking products, you will love it! If you need more coverage and wear makeup regularly, you can use this a primer.

Also one thing I noticed is the more you blend, the more it adapts to your skin tone. I am not really sure, let me know in the comments below, if you tried and experienced that.

Overall, definitely recommend it!

Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream Review

Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream Review

By Sanchita

INTRODUCTION – Just when I started working out, I thought of using the Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream simultaneously because I already have way too many stretch marks around my hips and thighs. I knew that these stretch marks are simply going to aggravate once I start off with full-fledged workout session. Having used the cream for about two months now, here’s my review on the product.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Johara Body Firming AntiCellulite Cream is a fresh, light weight, fast absorbing cream that visibly reduces the appearance of cellulite (Orange peel skin) within 4 weeks of regular use. Rich in regenerating & firming plant extracts like Fors LeanCG, Boswellin Super, Cosmoperine, Caffeine & Amaranthus that helps to restore body’s youthful tone & improve firmness & elasticity of the skin. Other ingredients such as Jojoba seed oil, Horse chestnut seed extract (Venocin) & Olive fruit oil revitalizes the skin texture and leaves skin feeling soft and satin smooth.

Paraben, Sulphate, Formaldehyde, Synthetic dye Free, Halal Certified, Dermatologist Certified, Suitable for Sensitive skin

PRICE – 900 INR for 125g

MY REVIEW

The Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream comes in a rather large plushy tube which is creamy in color, along with a flip open black cap which is pretty sturdy. The opening of the flip open cap dispenses the right amount of product, avoiding any mess or excess. Though the tube looks slightly big, it is a perfect pick for travelling. It is light weight, sturdy and doesn’t mess up at all. Overall, I really like the packaging.

Coming to the texture and consistency, it is has a creamy consistency which leans on the thicker side. The smell is artificial and creamy but nothing that would hurt the nasal senses. Once you blend the product onto the skin, it simply refreshes with aroma and then fades off.

The cream takes some time to blend but it does merge with the skin with some nice massage. Initially, I simply used to apply and blend and the cream used to look oily on the skin. However, with the passage of time, I thought of massage a good amount and saw that it works better that way. Massaging the cream has its own benefits. Massaging helps in blood circulation in that part of the body and also reduces the stretch marks. Once blended onto the skin, the area feels slightly warmed up which is very noticeable in summer.

Coming to its effect of reducing stretch marks, I didn’t notice anything till a month. I have been quite consistent with the workout but even after losing some kilos I didn’t notice the increasing appearances of the stretch marks. It was simply after 40-45 days when I noticed that the stretch marks around my thighs slowly started vanishing. The skin also looked much toned and even.

However, the perfect toned and firm was still to come. The cream also works slightly on double chin as I notice the pictures looked pretty good as far as the chiseled look is concerned. There was no side effect of the cream on the skin throughout the time I used it.

The ingredient list of the Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream is pretty impressive. It is enriched with Fors LeanCG, Boswellin Super, Cosmoperine, Caffeine & Amaranthus that are naturally endowed to improve the texture of the cream and provides firmness and elasticity. Abundant quantity of Jojoba, Olive, glycerin and other fruit oils are added which adds a nice layer of hydration to the skin that also contributes to the enhancement. In fact, the product is paraben, sulphate, formaldehyde, synthetic dye free and also halal certified and dermatologist certified – which makes it a perfect pick for sensitive skin as well.

OVERALL – Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream is an excellent choice if you want to reduce the stretch marks and add a nice layer of hydration to the skin.

July 2016 My Envy Box Review & Unboxing

July My Envy Box Review & Unboxing

Hi guys,

I just got the My Envy Box for the month of July. The theme is ‘Band, Baajaa Beauty’ and it’s curated by WedMeGood. The box itself is very pretty, it is neon pink with gold intricate work on it.

I had seen a sneak peek in the email and knew there were two full sized products from SkinYoga and Gulnare in this month’ box.

MRP: Rs.850/- (Available HERE)

Let’s see what I got in this month’s box:

  • SkinYoga Marigold Foot Soak- Full Size (Rs. 695/-)
  • Gulnare Glow Girl Shimmering Dry Oil – Full size (Rs.1250/-)
  • Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Brightening Scrub -5g sample
  • Kama Ayurveda Hand Cream- 5g sample
  • Kerastase Chronologiste Oil- 3ml sample

In total there are 5 products in this month’s box, but except the 2 full sized products, rest of the samples are very tiny. I do prefer deluxe sized samples which have 30g or 30ml product, I do not like the 5g and 5ml tiny samples which hardly serve the purpose.

The foot soak and shimmering body oil do look interesting, but I would have liked body scrub or Gulnare moisturiser/hand cream.

Overall the value of the two full sized products do make up for the cost of the box, but I would suggest go for this month’s box only if you use/interested in trying out the foot soak or shimmering body oil. Or else, can skip this month’ box.

What did you get in your July My Envy Box?

Drugstore Dupes for High End Makeup

Drugstore Dupes for High End Makeup

By Pallavi

Hello Girlies,

Here I am back with yet another post. With the advent of so many online shopping sites at our disposal makeup and skincare has become a rage. We are aware of the best of high end as well as drug store makeup products. Even the brands which are not available in India are on our fingertips. But many of us can’t get access to those brands. So, what to do in that situation?? Worry not here I am with some of the dupes of high end makeup products. These are the products which are not that easily available in India.

So, let’s have a look at the dupe list –

1. Dior Dioshow Mascara (INR 1500) vs L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara (INR 895) –

What’s Similar : Both of them come with a tapered brush which gives an edge to the lashes. They help in separating and elongating the lashes.

What’s Not : Dior mascara comes with a quick dry formulation which turns the lashes thick in some time.

2. Benefit High Beam (INR 2665) vs E.L.F. Essential Shimmering Facial Whip (INR 85) –

What’s Similar : Both of these highlighters have a gorgeous, pink sheen which gives a very younger looking dewy skin.

What’s Not : The E.L.F facial whip comes in a tube packaging which is very easy to use. But the finish of the E.L.F. one is very shimmery which is not perfect for day time usage.

3. Urban Decay Naked Eye Shadow Palette (INR 4900) vs MUA Undressed Palette (INR 840)

What’s Similar : Both of them have highly pigmented 10 metallic and 2 matte shades.

What’s Not : MUA shades are slightly chalky. Also, the UD brush applicator is from cruelty free collection; whereas the MUA brush looks pretty cheap.

4. MAC Prep &  Prime (INR 3200) vs Rimmel Stay Matte Primer (INR 1250)

What’s Similar : Both come in similar matte finish which helps the makeup stay longer. Also, they form a smooth base for the skin in order to prep it with the foundation after that.

What’s Not : MAC Prep & Prime stays on for much longer than the Rimmel one. But the Rimmel one is a bit more moisturising than the MAC one. MAC one is meant only for the oily skinned beauties.

5. MAC Ruby Woo (INR 1500) vs Rimmel Kate Matte lipstick in Kiss of life 111 (INR 500)

What’s Similar : Both are deep red with blue undertones in them.

What’s Not : RUBY WOO is very matte with slightly drying formula whereas Rimmel one is a bit moisturising. Also, once ruby woo sets it is impossible to smear.

6. YSL Touché Eclat (INR 2130) vs Maybelline Dreamy Touch Lumi Concealer (INR 475)

What’s Similar : Both come in the form of a pen packaging. The formula is creamy which targets to brighten the under eye area.

What’s Not : YSL has a huge shade option of 10 whereas Maybelline has only 3 shade options. Also, touché éclat has limited coverage as compared to the Maybelline one.

7. Smashbox Photofinish Primer (INR 5625) vs NYX Studio Perfect Photo Loving Primer (INR 2450)

What’s Similar : Both help in minimizing the appearance of pores and filling them. This makes the makeup look refined and smooth. Even the ingredient list of both of them are somewhat identical.

What’s Not : The Smashbox one makes face greasy after some time. Whereas the NYX one ensures that your makeup stays perfect even by the end of the day.

8.  Beautyblender (INR 1999) vs Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (INR 380)

What’s Similar : Both of them are designed in an ergonomic manner to give your foundation a much more even finish.

What’s Not : The Real Techniques one has flat end which makes the application around the eye area easier. Whereas the beautyblender blends foundation way better and quicker that the other one.

9. MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (INR 2800) vs Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (INR 195)

What’s Similar : Both of them are so finely milled that excess product also will not make your face look ashy or powdery.

What’s Not : Rimmel one is a bit drying as compared to the MAC one. In winters you cannot use the Rimmel one even with a moisturiser underneath as it will accentuate your pores and cause dry flakes on your face.

10. MoroccanOil Treatment (INR 2160) vs Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil (INR 675)

What’s Similar : Both of them have similar ingredient list and thus the formula is similar.

What’s Not : The MoroccanOil Treatment is more moisturising for dry hair. It imparts shine and lustre much more than the Organix One.

These were my list of high end makeup dupes. Let me know if you like the post in the comments down below. Also, let me know any other high end dupes you have come across in your makeup journey.

Editor’s Note: That was a very nice list Pallavi. I would like to add two more. Sleek MakeUP Blush in Rose Gold and Makeup Geek Blush in Romance are the dupes of Nars Orgasm Blush! And the Maybelline Gel Liner Black has the exact same formula at less than quarter the price of Bobbi Brown Gel liner Black Ink.
