OOTD: Sporty Chic

Hi guys,

As you all know, I have been talking a lot about the Reliance Trends Spring Summer Collection 2015. We were invited at the Bandra Reliance Trends store to check out and review the collection and pick our favourites and style them 🙂

New Reliance Trends Collection included the brands Rio,Fig, Intribe, Fusion, DNMX and Team Spirit.

Rio has bright coloured tops and tees. Fig has nice summery tunics, sheer crop tops, harem pants,etc. DNMX was all about denim, from printed (polka dots too :p) denims to all types of pants, shorts and also nice denim shirts which mostly all of us picked 😀 It is perfect for layering in summers since quite thin and breathable. Intribe had floral numbered tops, lots of sheer and sequin and even faux leather. Fusion obviously had the Indo-western look and feel with bright skirts, shirts, kurtis,etc. And lastly, Team Spirit was all about casuals and sporty. Numbered tees, hoodie vests,stripes, etc.

For creating this look, I went went a vertical striped numbered tee from Team Spirit. I love how the number has an ombre effect <3 And paired it with blue skinny denims from DNMX, the ombre blue number on the tee matches and balances the outfit.

I paired it with my bright black and pink floral statement necklace, a classic watch, a pretty stone silver ring and studded black pumps. The reflecting sunnies steal the show though 😀 Absolutely loved the mirror reflecting round sunglasses.

The best part is all the brands are quite affordable and do not burn a hole in your pocket. The stuff is perfect for everyday wear and there is something for everyone,from sporty Team Spirit to trendy Fig and DNMX to Indo- western Fusion. OOTD: I Am Back 🙂

Hey guys,

I am back, up and going now. I can do all the basic stuff and would be going back to my place with hubby 🙂 Only I cannot walk fast or climb steps quickly as of now. Also I am not supposed to wear heels for 2-3 more months. So I am buying lots of flats, reasons to shop 😉 And back with a new outfit post. A monochrome and androgynous outfit but with a twist, the twist is the blouse has cute bow cut offs on the sleeves.

The trousers were quite loose for me, but I did not bother exchanging them as they were very comfortable! Though I would get a few alterations done to it.

I paired this monochrome outfit with my new metallic gold Vans with tassels on the sides ! Say hello to my new Vans!

I know the pics are not very clear..I just discovered yesterday that my new DSLR lens was also dashed from the front and the zoom got stuck, as we were carrying it with us on the day of the accident. I have given it for repair at the service center, I hope it starts working properly again 🙁

OOTD: Geek Chic

Hey guys,

An OOTD again, the last one from Hong Kong. We went for the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car at Lantau Islands in Hong Kong. Its a 5.7km long bi-cable car system which connects from Tung Chung MTR station to Ngong Ping Village. Ngong Ping Village is home to Po Lin Monastery and Tian Tan Buddha which is an 112 ft bronze seated Buddha Statue.

The cable car experience was fun, it seemed never ending and was on a huge huge height with a lake in between, and a small station halt.

I wore this ‘Geek’ tee with my black skirt and my trusted favourite blazer.

Pairing it with my Daniel Wellington watch,Ray Bans and 2-3 bracelets stacked together. And of course, my super comfortable Bata slip ons.

OOTD: Being a Kid at Disneyland, Hong Kong

Hey guys,

Here is another OOTD from Hong Kong…from Disneyland 😀 Yay

Everyone becomes a kid again once you enter Disneyland..it was super fun, though in terms of rides, Ocean Park was much better. Disneyland is a place where the kids would enjoy a lot, where as adults would love Ocean Park and the rides there more.

I wore this fun blue tee which read ‘I am LOLing..what’s your mood today?’ with lots of smileys thrown in. How cute is it..I loved it and thought it was perfect for Disneyland.

Paired it with my blue denims and mint flats from Bata, accessorized with Daniel Wellington watch and a pearl and spiked bracelet.

Also my black blazer to layer since it cold there..Mumbai people not used to :p

Do you know there is a separate MTR just for Disneyland Resort station? One needs to change the MTR to get to Disneyland. Also the train has mickey mouse windows and handles..how adorable the train looked!

OOTD: On the Streets of Hong Kong (Lavender Sweater, Pastel Blue Blazer)

Finally I am resuming work slowly. Still settling down though,hopefully in a week or so I would be back to my regular posting. For now, here is one of my outfit posts on the streets of Hong Kong.

These shots are taken on the road below our hotel, at The Sky Terrace i.e. the highest point of Hong Kong and Madam Tussauds 😀 It was super fun clicking pics with few of the wax statues.

It was around 12-13 degrees there with cold breeze which was slightly intolerable for me. I needed layering and this sweater + light blazer was the perfect combo to keep me warm. Everyone in general in Hong Kong and Macau wore sweaters/jackets/trench coats/sweat shirts or some or the other kind of layering.

I accessorized with a pearl and spiked bracelet which I more or less was stuck to on most of the days since it looked good and worked with everything 😀 A classic Daniel Wellington Watch and a neon diamante statement necklace.

Since we walked a lot, I chose flats on most of the days and these mint Bata slip ons (shown HERE) stayed with me on all the days. They were so so comfortable, I cam back to these after trying 1-2 others in between.

I loved the pastel on pastel combo and the neon necklace and the bright lipstick adds a pop to the outfit. The blazer is cotton chambray and super light and comfortable, still keeps you warm and the folded floral sleeves look so chic!

OOTD: Orange Bag, Black Studded Pumps

Hey everyone,

This time around I planned my OOTD keeping my new orange bag and my favourite black studded pumps in focus. I have hardly accessorized.

The top has dull gold thread and pearl detailing on the neck, so I skipped a neck piece and went for simple pearl Aldo studs.

I only wore a Daniel Wellington watch, so the full focus is on my bright bright orange bag and the lovely shoes.

 

This crocodile print bag is exactly the same as the one I have in black and you guys have seen in most of my OOTD’s and which I absolutely love. (I had shared it HERE as a part of my wishlist.)

And the new Dune London black studded pumps are also my latest love. (Just look at them! I can adore them forever) Dune London has a store in Palladium in Mumbai for those who are interested.

I also added this beige light drawstring trench, which is perfect for fall/winter and places like Mumbai where it is not too cold.

Loving my skin these days! I have absolutely no makeup/base on the face except my Ruby Woo 😀

OOTD: Airport Travel/Friday Dressing with One Pants

Hey guys,

I am back with an OOTD after a long long time. Remember my Goa trip with Blogadda last month ? (See HERE) I am going to Goa again tom early early morning with a bunch of friends. Yay! Can’t wait 😀 Probably my last trip as ‘single’ with friends, so kind of bachelorette too. (Though we have guys along :/ But its ok as long as we will be having fun!!) So, this is what I wore to the airport last time. A basic brown floral pants which are thick and warm. I paired them with a basic white Tommy Hilfiger tee, blue loafers, pearl studs and a Daniel Wellington watch. I also had my reliable black Marks & Spencer sweatshirt along to keep me warm during the flight. Keeping it simple is the best when you are travelling.

Some tips to keep in mind for airport travel dressing:

  • Wear longer tees/tunics. You may have your hand luggage or need to bend, etc. Keep it long and comfortable.
  • Wear closed loafers/ballets/brogues/shoes/boots. My feet get terribly cold and if it is the same with you, better keep them covered.
  • Always have a scarf/jacket/sweatshirt out and handy.
  • Wear minimal accessories. Airport is not the place to show off your statement pieces.
  • Wear comfortable denims/tracks/pants. No skinny or tight bottoms.
  • Carry a good big tote and don’t forget the basic stuff like lip balm, hand cream, moisturizer, face mist, sanitizer, etc. in the bag.

I guess ya, you are good to go, wearing some basic, comfortable outfit.

I converted the same pants into a more semi formal Friday wear, by replacing the casual white tee with a linen white shirt and tucking it in and my favourite black bag.

Some tips to keep in mind for Friday dressing at work:

  • So casuals on Friday does not mean shorts, bodycon dresses, etc. coz its still a work place after all. Stick to denims in basic blue and black.
  • White/Black shirts work well for semi formal Fridays
  • Again not too many statement pieces or accessories. You are not there to seek attention and neither would it be comfortable to work with any heavy accessories.
  • Blazers look super chic for semi formal wear
  • Monochromes/Neutrals/Blues look good.
  • Sheath/Wrap dress in neutral colors also looks perfect for Fridays. Sometimes on all days coz its formal too, depending on the cuts/design/color and the work place environment.

OOTD: Black Sequin Collar Shirt, Striped Puff Skirt

I am back with an OOTD..I love skirts and I love stripes…and this black and white striped puff skirt is one of my favorites! How cute is it..the puff totally adds to its cuteness.

I paired it with a black sleeveless shirt with black sequin work on the collar..it extends till the back. So adds to the oomph of this shirt ! And this shirt goes with so many of my outfits..I think you can’t wrong with a basic black or white shirt..you would have tons of combinations to pair them with (exaggerated..but 5-6 minimum :D) Monochrome works for me always.

Its good for both formal and casual wear..you can transition from day to night with some changes with this kind of outfit.  (You can change the shoes to chic pumps) Whether a formal brunch or a fun meet with your girlfriends, this look totally works.

I kept accessories minimal with only pearl studs and my favorite Daniel Wellington watch. Looks classier and elegant this way. And since the collar is already sequin embellished, you do not need any statement necklace..the collar itself is a highlight. I went with these super sexy spiked T- strap white block heels. And a red lipstick to finish off.
