L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfect Cream Age 20+ Review

L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfect Cream Age 20+ Review

Hey guys,

Remember the post about the new L’Oreal Skin Perfect Range I did HERE. It has three different creams in this range according to Age 20+,30+ and 40+.

I have been using the 20+ from about 40-45 days now and it’s time to review.

What the Company claims: Age 20+ Skin Perfect Range comprises of a day cream along with cleansing foam.Combined with Perlite and Salicylic Acid it helps keep oiliness, pimples and blemishes at bay through your twenties while giving you that perfect clear skin glow.

The 18g Cream is priced at Rs 99, 50 g Cream is priced at Rs 325

Ingredients:

It comes in both tube and glass jar packaging. I was using this tube one before I received the glass jar ones. I have been using the tube since 40-45 days and there is still some product left.

Really like the ease of use and carrying the tube provides, the glass jar is heavy and definitely not meant for travel.

Its off white in color and thick in texture. I love the floral talc like light smell. Since its a bit heavy, you need to blend this well on the skin or else it might leave a whitish cast or layer.

It gets immediately absorbed and settles (coz of the talc) and gives a nice brightening effect to the skin. (coz of perlite). Also the presence of salicylic acid would help acne at bay and niacinmide helps in lightening the scars to an extent.

It did not break me out and kept the skin matte and dry for atleast 4-5 hours.

Since most of the people in 20+ group are from the oily skin category, they have made the formula suited for oily skin. But if you are into your late 20’s and your skin is combination to dry, you will definitely not like this as a moisturiser and would need an additional one to moisturise the skin.

I use a moisturising sunscreen over this since only UV filters are not enough and cannot replace your sunscreen.

Overall, I would say its perfect for oily skin and late teens to early 20’s skin who need a moisturiser that is not heavy, absorbs easily and mattifies their skin. I am liking it this summers since its very hot and humid here and sometimes I just don’t want anything heavy or greasy on my face. Recommended! But not for dry skin unless you add a separate moisturiser which does not makes sense.

Rating: 3.75/5

April My Envy Box Review

April My Envy Box Review

For those of you who don’t know what My Envy Box is..read HERE…and check out my Feb box HERE and March box HERE.

MRP: Rs.850/-

If you follow me on Instagram, you must have seen the pic of the products I got..

This time the box was a nice pink colored one..I loved it..always their boxes and packaging..though the cute pouch was missing this time..I guess coz 1-2 products were big in size..

There was also this 10% off coupon for the site www.monsoonandbeyond.com

Products I got:

  • Benefit Porefessional– 0.15 ml sachet
  • SkinYoga Almond Orange Face Scrub – 5.67g
  • Avene Sensitive White Whitening Essence -3ml
  • Za True White Day Cream– 5g
  • H2O+ Sea Moss Replenishing Body Wash– 60ml

Ok, so coming to the products..I only liked the SkinYoga and H2O+ samples..and I wanted to try out Za..so kinda that though 5g is too less..I am not a fan or endorser of Whitening products..so Avene Whitening Essence is not what I would really choose, if given an option..

And let me not talk about Benefit Porefessional..coz 0.15ml is too less for even one time use :/ Few boxes had Benefit Fake Up Concealer..and that was still a decent sample..I would have preferred if they would have sent some other brand’s deluxe sample rather than Benefit !

So the April box was a mixed bag..I liked only 2 products..I hope next month’s box has something better..I mean 0.15 or even 1-2 ml products should be avoided in my honest opinion ! ‘You know what I mean’ :p (Did you watch the Sonam Kapoor’s Koffee with Karan episode ? If not, go watch now 😀 )

Pond’s White Beauty Daily Spot-less Lightening Day Cream Review

Pond’s White Beauty Daily Spot-less Lightening Day Cream with SPF 20 PA++ Review

Now thats a mouthful !

What the Company claims: After researching with over 20,000 genes, the Pond’s Institute identified a specific gene that significantly affects melanin production. Through this discovery, our most effective skin lightening formulation containing the revolutionary GenWhite™ formula has been created. It adapts to your unique skin to successfully lighten and even-out your complexion and prevent discolorations at the source.

What’s amazing about it is that the product works differently on each person. So, if there are areas on your skin that need extra help and contain more melanin, the formula concentrates on lightening and brightening those exact problem spots.

Sizes Available   50g         35g        25g     15g      9g
Price                Rs 249    Rs 140   Rs 80  Rs 49  Rs 10

Ingredients:

This comes in a pink and white oblong shaped tub..a trademark with Pond’s for the biggest size..since its made of glass..one has to be careful and its a little heavy too..not very travel friendly…it has a separate white lid on top which makes the rims messy always.

Its a baby pink colored thick cream with a powder like soft smell..not bothersome..now do not go by its looks..though its a thick cream, it is completely dry and mattifying..so much so that it would best work for oily combination skin..dry skin might needed added moisturisation.

Pros:

1. It does what it claims..it does lighten, brighten and even out skin tone, helps in lightening acne marks..and even helps in removing tan.
2. Completely matte and does not give that shiny greasy feeling..love that in summers.
3. Has SPF 20 PA++ protection..not enough..but something is better than nothing, right.
4. Comes in many different sizes and prices..and the other packing is not a huge glass jar..much travel friendly.

Cons:

1. Gives a whitish cast like in a high SPF sunscreen or a BB cream..its needed to be blended well..would be more so a problem for dusky skin tones.
2. Has parabens, phenoxyethanol and silicones.
3. And now time for some calculations..don’t mind I am a CA :p You get 9g of product for Rs. 10, so for Rs. 60, you can get 54g i.e 4g more than in this tub..so you pay about 4 times more just for the tub..and that goes for all increasing quantities..so its best bought in the smallest pack 😀
4. The white lid makes the rims of the tub messy every time.

Overall I did the cream and I am quite impressed with the formulation..best suited for oily to combination skin..would surely recommend this for them..dry skin may needed added moisture..and its best bought in the smallest pack.

The Nature’s Co Marshmallow Day Cream Review

The Nature’s Co Marshmallow Day Cream Review

What the Company claims : Marshmallow Day Cream

Emollient-soothing, calming effect and anti-inflammatory.

Start your day with the soothing softness of Marshmallow, whose superior moisturizing leaves skin silky smooth. Its anti-inflammatory properties, calms the skin and protects it from irritating agents. Smooth a small amount over clean, toned skin as needed, using gentle upward strokes.

Net Wt: 50 ml (1.56 fl.oz)
MRP: Rs. 725.00

Ingredients:

It comes in the typical Nature’s Co packaging of a tub with an inverted blue cap..it has a white cover inside..its off white in color..and has a sweet marshmallow smell. It is a part of the Atmosphere range of the Nature’s Co.

Its a little thick cream..worked well in summers..I do not use this in winters..since I prefer light lotions in summers..this would suit dry skin more.

Pros:

1. I like the Nature’s Co packaging..but the tub is an issue..dipping hands every time.
2. It does what it claims..soothes and calms skin.
3. Its moisturises skin well..and keeps it supple and soft.
4. No fuss ingredients..I liked grapeseed oil, avocado oil and Vitamin E along with marshmallow.
5. Quite a good amount of quantity.

Cons:

1. I find it a little heavy in summers..more suitable for dry skin.
2. Expensive.
3. The sweet marshmallow smell can be bothersome for few.

Overall its a nice day cream..no tall claims..just soothes and moisturises..does what it claims ! I would recommend this to dry skinned girls.
