#GigixMaybelline Eyeshadow Palettes, Liquid Strobes, Tinted Primers Review/Swatches

Hi guys,

I reviewed the first part of the Gigi and Maybelline collection before HERE. The collection was launched in two phases in India, the second part came during Valentine’s Day.

I have been using these since quite some time now and here are my thoughts..

Starting with the Tinted Primers,

Claims: Gigi Hadid Tinted Primer gives skin a hint of color and preps your skin for makeup. One of Gigi’s most trusted beauty essentials. Get your face ready for a flawless finish with this limited edition makeup primer – a celeb makeup must have!

How to use: Before applying your foundation, apply primer to the skin using your fingers or a cushioned sponge.

Shades: Light to Medium, Medium to Deep

MRP: Rs.499/-

Now there are varied opinions on how to use this product. It clearly claims to be used as a primer but many Youtubers have found it too dark to use as a primer all over the face and prefer using it as a contouring base. A full coverage foundation would completely hide this contour and nothing would show up. You can use this over the foundation like a cream contour, but again this is actually a primer.

It is very creamy and blends easily though. I agree she definitely had to launch more shades in this primer to cater to all skin tones, from light to dark. At least 2-3 more shades. But from what I believe, this would be the perfect base for paler girls who tan their body and not their face, it would give a natural tan to the face, beneath the foundation.

For people in India, the Light Medium shade would be perfect for NC40-42 and above, the Medium to Dark would be deep for most people in India too.

I do use the Light Medium and it is dark for me, but the foundation balances it. Now this primer is not very pore filling, but it definitely made my makeup last whole day!

I wore this makeup for 11 hours for a wedding, and only touched up once before the reception. The foundation did not fade or settle in fine lines. I was pretty impressed, I feel it helps in controlling the excess oil on the face giving a natural tint to the skin. Even if you don’t wear a liquid foundation on an everyday basis, you can use this primer for an even base.

Claims: Gigi Hadid Liquid Strobe is a cream highlighter that adds radiance and dimension to the face for the ultimate glow. One product, 4 ways! Delivers a gorgeous glow and a luminous effect that looks as if skin is lit from within. Look to strobing makeup for an illuminating effect in an instant.

How to use: Four Ways to glow: Wear alone, mix with primer, mix with foundation or spotlight high points of the face. Step 1. Apply to desired areas of the face. Step 2. Blend with fingertips.

MRP: Rs.650/-

Shades: Gold, Iridescent

These can be MAC Strobe cream dupes, though the tint is different. You can pick Gold if you have yellow undertones and Iridescent if you have pink undertones. These are not highlighting enough, just on it’s own. You can use it as a base for powder highlighter on top.

My favourite way of using this is mixing with foundation, it gives a beautiful glow to your skin. You can also use it all over your face as a base after primer and before foundation, or mixing with your primer. (if you want more glow)

Or mixing with your foundation is the safest bet.

I like mixing a tiny bit of both Gold and Iridescent. These are not very pigmented or shimmery kinds, so even if you add a little extra, there would be nothing obvious on the skin. It just gives a healthy, glowing look to your skin.

Liquid Strobes in Gold, Iridescent, Tinted Primers in Medium to Deep, Light to Medium

I do feel these are a little pricey though, these should also have been priced the same as primers, around 499.

I like the fact that they are not oily or greasy and don’t make your foundation slip or break apart. It blends and merges really well.

I definitely recommend these, especially for days when you feel your skin is looking dull. You can even mix a bit with your tinted moisturizer on a daily basis.

Eye Contour Palettes

Claims: A must have eye contouring palette available in cooler (light skin) and warmer (deep skin) tones. In 4 easy steps you can create a natural contour that defines, deepens and widens to make your eyes look dramatically bigger and brighter.

HOW TO USE :

Step 1. LID: Apply a neutral base all over the eyelid.

Step 2. CREASE: Define the eye crease with a medium tone shade.

Step 3 CONTOUR: Add depth to the outer eye corner and lash line.

Step 4 HIGHLIGHT: Illuminate the brow bone and inner eye corner to create the look of wider eyes.

MRP: Rs.799/-

Eye Contour Palettes are a combination of all matte shades, one cool and one warm. These are one of the best matte eye shadows available in drugstore brands in India. Creating a pigmented shimmer/metallic shadow is pretty easy and most drugstore brands have good metallic shades.

Matte shadows with most drugstore brands are not pigmented enough, powdery, chalky, dry.

These are powdery and have kick back, but they are also super creamy and quite pigmented. The swatches you see are all one swipe each.I love the combination of colours, and I like the concept of having a warm and cool separately. I love both of these, I would say the Cool one is a little more pigmented though. But both are pretty good to work with and blend well.

The only other brand available in India, that makes good matte shadows is PAC Cosmetics.

Warm Eye Contour Palette
Cool Eye Contour Palette

I don’t like the sizing of the shadows though, the straight vertical line is tiny for dipping the brush :/ Maybe the qty is decent, but they could have made each shadow broader.

I am not sure if they would be available on discount, since it’s a LE collection but if you see them on discount, then definitely grab them.

Eyeshadow Palettes

Claims: A beautiful six shades palette that is perfect for creating custom eye makeup looks. Has both matte and shimmery shades to easily take you from day to night. Cool Palette : Mauves, Pinks, Golds and Rose Golds. Warm Palette: Nudes, browns and champagne golds.

HOW TO USE :

Step 1. Color the entire eye area.

Step 2. Shade the lid.

Step 3. Contour the crease.

Step 4. Line around eye.

MRP: Rs.799/-

Again beautiful combination of shades. Super creamy, buttery and pigmented. The metallic shades are gorgeous, I didn’t even use a damp brush for it, and yet the pigmentation came out so well.

Warm Eyeshadow Palette
Cool Eyeshadow Palette

I love the fact that there are three matte and three metallic shades, you can create a whole look with this palette. It’s very important for an eyeshadow palette to have shades to create one whole look, and it’s very rare to have all the shades for a look in one palette. Usually if it’s all matte or all metallic, or there is no deep shade for smoking out or highlight shade. Both these warm and cool palettes have all shades to create one complete eye look.

The warm one is perfect for creating a look for Indian weddings, which I have done here. Cool one will work for everything, from your brunch to after parties. Cool is slightly more pigmented than Warm, in this too.

I definitely recommend these too.

Here is the look I created using the collection..

My favourite has to be the four eyeshadow palettes, followed by Liquid Strobes.

What is your favourite from the collection?

Sugar Blend The Rules Eyeshadow Quads Review, Swatches, Looks

Sugar Blend The Rules Eyeshadow Quads Review, Swatches, Looks

Hi guys,

Sugar Cosmetics just launched 18 eyeshadow quads and two eyeshadow palettes. Each eyeshadow quad is priced at Rs.699/- and the palette at Rs.1599/- (Buy HERE)

GET DISCOUNT USING ‘BTXSUGAR’ on https://in.sugarcosmetics.com

I am talking about the eyeshadow quads here but the palettes also have same shades, most of the quads also have repeated shades. You can pick a quad/palette as per your needs. Palettes are divided into two- day time neutrals/warms/browns and more cool toned/bright/smokey/night time palette.

Coming to the quads:

  • 01 Stronger
  • 02 Believe
  • 03 Escapade
  • 04 Chandelier
  • 05 Irreplacable
  • 06 Disturbia
  • 07 Applause
  • 08 Respect
  • 09 Diamonds
  • 10 Waterfalls
  • 11 Promiscuous
  • 12 Complicated
  • 13 Paparazzi
  • 14 Skyfall
  • 15 Bootylicious
  • 16 Roar
  • 17 Goldeneye
  • 18 Scandalous

I have 04 Chandelier, 05 Irreplaceable, 07 Applause, 08 Respect, 13 Paparazzi, 16 Roar

The packaging is cardboard and super light weight, they do not come with a mirror, just a dual sided sponge tip applicator.

The eyeshadows are super pigmented and buttery, the metallic ones are extremely soft and are best applied with your fingers. Even the matte shades are very pigmented and soft, blend easily and there is no fall out with any shadows.

I am highly impressed with the colours and pigmentation, they have some perfect neutrals to blend in the crease and amazing metallic shades for the lid. All the shades would work well for Indian warm skin tones and most of the shades are also Indian wedding/festive looks appropriate. There are also blues and plums for general wear, night time looks, neutral mattes for office wear, basically a quad for every occasion.

The only problem is repeated shades, I would have preferred launching just palettes or 5-6 quads with different shades. Here you cannot buy 2-3 eyeshadow quad and not have at least one eyeshadow repeated. It doesn’t make sense to have same shades if you want to buy 2-3 quads and like all other shades in the quads. I personally won’t invest in 2 quads even if one eyeshadow is repeated, because I prefer owning different shades. And most of you would think the same.

Best they could do, (or they can still) is to have a separate pan and separate singles to customize and make your own palette. Let the price remain the same.

Each quad is 5g, so each shadow is 1.25g though it looks like a 2g pan width wise, it is not very deep inside. I tried to depot the shadows as I didn’t want to keep the entire eyeshadow quad with repeated shades for 1-2 shades in it. One crumbled and one was dented, so I didn’t. I managed to depot one, and one quad has all same shades, so I am giving away two of the eyeshadow quads on my YouTube channel, join here below.

Here are all the quads..

Chandelier
Irreplacable
Applause
Respect
Paparazzi
Roar

Swatches..

Chandelier
Irreplacable
Applause
Respect
Paparazzi
Roar

I created a plum pink smokey eye with Applause and a matte peachy look with 16 Roar using just the two matte shades.

Applause
Two Mattes in Roar

Overall I would say I am highly impressed with the quality of the eyeshadows and they are the best available right now for this price, only con would be the combination of shades in the quads. I would recommend getting the daytime palette as it has almost all their best shades and you could make more use of it on an everyday basis.

DIY Eyeshadow Primer

DIY Eyeshadow Primer

By Simran

We have all been new to the makeup world some time or another and learnt everything by trial and error. One thing which comes in the mind of a person new to makeup is; affordable makeup products since they haven’t mastered any techniques and hence need affordable options to experiment and learn with.

And for anyone trying their hands on eye shadows, is to get a good eye shadow primer, that should be the prime objective. An eye shadow primer acts as a base for your eye shadow, makes the pigmentation of the eye shadow more visible and helps in the staying power of the eye shadow on your lids.

However, there aren’t many affordable options available in the Indian market. When I started using eye shadows, there were barely any primers available, even the costly ones.

So, I DIY-d my very own eye shadow primer and used it for ages till I got an actual eye shadow primer from the market. Hopefully, this will help anyone new to makeup or someone who wants to save some bucks on an eye shadow primer.

It consists of basic things which we all have lying around anyways. It works the same as any eye shadow primer in the market would.

What you’ll need:

  • Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Body Butter or Thick Moisturizer
  • Empty and Clean Tub
  • Toothpick

Starting with, you’d want to sanitize the tub you want to keep your primer in.  I have used this old lip balm tub and sanitized it. You can even buy empty tubs similar to these online.

Step1

Initially, you want to pour some foundation in the tub, the foundation is the base of the product so you should use the most of it depending on how much eye primer you want to make. I am using this Foundation by the body shop in my eye shadow primer.

Step2

Next, put in a little concealer, use it lesser than the foundation, half than how much foundation you used to be precise. It will help in adding that little brightness in your eye shadow primer. I am using this Deliplus concealer I had got from Spain.

Step3

Finally, put a bit of body butter or thick body lotion, you shouldn’t use a light/thin consistency moisturizer since it would make the consistency of your eye primer runny.

The ratio of the moisturizer/body butter should be same or teeny less than the concealer.  What the moisturizer does, is to retain the moisture on your lids underneath all that eye shadow. I am using this parachute body lotion.

The ratio you want to work in is 2:1:1 that is 2 parts foundation, 1 part concealer and 1 part moisturizer.

Step4

Mix it well with the help of a toothpick and store it away well. Always use a brush to apply the product to avoid spreading any germs and always pat some powder on top of the eye shadow primer to help it not to crease.

I wouldn’t really recommend making huge batches of the eye shadow primer. Make a batch that’ll not last you more than 1-2 months. You require a really small amount for each use.

Done

I have used this eye shadow primer for more than 8 hours and it lasted me without creasing or fading my eye makeup.

Editor’s Note: That sounds like a good eye primer. I would also recommend adding a little glycerine in place or addition to the body butter, just a tiny amount.

Have you tried DIYing eyeshadow primer?

Studiowest Maaya Crystal Eyeshadow Trio Goldmine Review, Swatches

Studiowest Maaya Crystal Eyeshadow Trio Goldmine Review, Swatches

By Devika

Hola loves!

We all love buying makeup, don’t we? Even those “random” visits and strolls through makeup boutique and counter aisles end up with us eventually buying the stuff we fancy lying at the counters! We can’t help 😀

During such one random visit to Westside I discovered that they actually have a huge makeup and skincare studio, STUDIOWEST. I drove straight into it and the product that fascinated me the most was their eye shadow trio as I was on a hunt to get travel friendly palette to carry along for weddings!

They actually have their range sorted into two lines: (Read more HERE)

The Pure Passion line which is a more wearable, lightweight ranging from nudes to pinks for the woman at work

The Maaya line which is more edgy, has shimmery and bold dazzling shades for festivities, weddings and women who want to look more glamorous.

They have a great range of colors which are designed specifically to flatter the Indian skin tones.

Pure passion has daytime neutrals and black Smokey eye shadow trio. While Maaya has stark shades in Bombay jewels and goldmine trio.

I chose the goldmine for its vibrant color combination. It’s a mix of plum, gold and brown. I tried it at the counter and gosh it blew me off with the pigmentation. I had to pick it up!

So let’s get into reviewing the STUDIOWEST MAAYA CRYSTAL EYESHADOW IN M03 GOLDMINE

PRODUCT CLAIMS: “Hi intensity color, for dramatic eyes. Blends effortlessly to create a complete look”

PRICE: INR 425 for 4.2 g

SHELF LIFE Is approx. 2 years

TO USE: “Combine three shades to experiment with your look! Using the applicator, apply the dark shade to line the eyelid. Next, blend in the medium shade along the crease & highlight under the eyebrow for a stunning result”

AVAILABILITY: The Studio West range is available across most Westside stores in India and is an awesome stop for high quality, reasonable products. How I wish it could be available online too!

MY EXPERIENCE

PACKAGING

Studio West Maaya crystal eye shadow comes enclosed in a black paper box with small cutout window which shows off the product. Inside is a compact plastic case with no mirror attached. Well that doesn’t bother me at least. It has a transparent lid making it easier to see through the shades.

The details are written on the base. Inside the case rests three eye shadow colors in square cases. The double sided sponge applicator it comes with, is of no use and I use my own set of brushes to apply the shadows.

The packaging is simple, nothing fancy or great but not cheap looking either. It is breakable and not sturdy so one needs to be careful while handling it or while travelling.

TEXTURE

The texture is to die for!! Truly speaking I didn’t expect this kind of texture from this palette, since most drugstore brands have those powdery finish with loads of fallout. All three eye shadows are so creamy and satin soft and glide on like a dream!! Application and blending is super easy and seamless. The shimmer present in the formula is very subtle, not like big crystals but are finely milled and I didn’t observe any fall out during application, however I always prefer doing my eye makeup first and base later.

PIGMENTATION

This Goldmine trio is a beautiful palette containing great festive shades: a plum, antique gold and a copper brown. Great color selection and would suit most of our heavy attires.

I can’t really stress enough on how pigmented these eye shadows are. Just have a look at the swatches and this is without a primer (just swatched once). All the three shades are super pigmented and have a reflective, subtle shimmery finish which doesn’t look over the top. The colors blend well without a hassle.

SHADES

The color pay off in a single swipe is exceptional (see swatches). The first shade from the left is so unique. It is a plumy-burgundy shade and looks gorgeous. The middle one is shimmery golden with warm bronze undertone to it. The third one is a gorgeous copper-brown shade. Perfect blend for Indian skin tone.

STAYING POWER

They stayed quite well on my eyes for over 6 hours without any creasing or fading that too without a primer (do prime in case you have oily lids). However with a good base and primer, longevity increases by up to 2 hours. No fallouts whatsoever after application. It can easily be removed with any makeup remover for that matter. Impressive staying power!

PROS

  • Very affordable
  • Gorgeous shade selection
  • Very few fall outs
  • Blends easily
  • Staying power & pigmentation is brilliant
  • Soft creamy texture
  • Super Affordable (3 shades for 425)
  • Primer not required to intensify the colors
  • Works really well with all Indian skin tones
  • Compact and easy to carry around
  • The quantity is good enough for the price

CONS

  • Availability
  • Have a little Fallout (only during application)
  • The Brush is merely useless
  • Packaging could have been sturdier
  • Oily lids need a primer to make it last long
  • No mirror provided

RATING 4.5/5 (-0.5 for not so sturdy packing and a bad applicator)

RECOMMENDATION

Yes! I absolutely recommend this particular trio if you are looking for a palette which would be perfect for festival/ wedding season as it would team perfectly with all your ethnic attires. You can’t ask for better quality at this price. I loved the color selection on the whole, shades are sorted out to work on Indian skin. The formula and shades are absolutely fantastic and it’s very reasonably priced too. If at all you have to pick any one product from this range, this must be it!!!!

Will I repurchase?

Yes I am planning to give Daytime neutrals eye shadow a try!

Editor’s Note: I have the basic daytime neutrals one. These are a total value for money. The centre gold shade is to die for!

Have you tried the Studiowest Goldmine Eyeshadow Trio?

May 2016 Fab Bag Unboxing & Review

May 2016 Fab Bag Unboxing & Review

Hi guys,

So I got the May 2016 Fab Bag today and it’s the ‘Summer Escapade’ theme, perfect for the season.

Read my previous Fab Bag reviews:

MRP: Rs.599/- per month (Buy HERE)

It’s a green colored mesh bag, very helpful to see through products and I like carrying such mesh bags for travel, so that can identify what is stored.

Products I got:

  • Sea Soul Eyeshadow Duo in Deep Purple: Rs.950/-
  • The Nature’s Co. White Tea Night Cream (20ml): Rs.895/-for 50ml
  • Inveda SPF30 PA++ Sunscreen Cream Gel : Rs.275/- for 75ml
  • Nyassa Tea Tree Face Wash (30ml): Rs.400 /- for 145ml

To start with the Sea Soul Eyeshadow Duo, I absolutely love it! It has two shades and comes with a mirror, one is a deep bluish purple and the other is a duochrome gold/purple/denim blue shade. I can’t even describe how gorgeous the duochrome shade is. Both the shades are super pigmented and buttery. It’s an Australian HD makeup brand and I am so glad Fab Bag introduced a new brand this month. I have done a look with this eyeshadow duo on my YouTube channel HERE

I also loved the Inveda sunscreen cream gel, it’s very light and feels gel like in texture. Non sticky and gets easily absorbed, definitely using this up this month.

Nyassa tea tree face wash is also perfect for summers and this 30ml bottle is quite nice. Decent qty and good for travel too. The Nature’s Co. White Tea Night Cream is pretty expensive and this is a deluxe sized 20ml jar. Feels very rich and hydrating and perfect for night time, the smell is light and not very overpowering or bothering.

Overall, I would say I am pretty impressed with 2 full sized products including one new brand’s full sized makeup product. And two deluxe sized samples. I do like May’s Fab Bag and definitely recommend it.

What did you get in your May Fab Bag? Do let me know in the comments below.

Colorbar All Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Sticks, Diamond Shine Lip Gloss Review, Swatches

Colorbar All Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Sticks, Diamond Shine Lip Gloss Review, Swatches

Hi guys,

I have been trying out these two new launches from Colorbar from quite some time now. And I also did a look around these. Here are my thoughts on them.

I did this look with these new launches..

Colorbar All Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Sticks: This ultra-modern eye-shadow stick glides like velvet, has feather light application and lasts for 8 hours without creasing, flaking or fading! Applying perfect eye-shadow will no longer be a tricky job with ColorBar All Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick. Fall in love with this blendable and highly pigmented do-it-all eye-shadow stick, which also doubles up as eyeliner. Sharpen the tip with a detachable sharpener (attached at the back of the stick) for precise application and use it to shade, define, smoke-up and highlights. Its velvet powdery, lightweight texture is smudge proof and doesn’t non-transfer on the upper eyelid.Preservative and mineral oil free. Dermatologically and Ophthalmologically Approved

MRP: Rs.850/- for 1.4g

Ingredients:

Available in 10 shades

I have the shades Ornament and Moss in the Eyeshadow sticks and Nude Glow and Pixie Pink in Diamond Shine Lip Gloss.

The eyeshadow stick comes in a swivel up rotating packaging. Each shade has a matching base colour which makes it easier to identify. It also comes with a sharpener, so that the tip can be sharpened if it gets blunt and flat. That comes very handy, coz it is difficult to use on the upper/lower lashline with the flat tip.

It is cream finish and glides on well, but it sets almost immediately and doesn’t budge once set, you need to be super quick when you are working with this. This can be a con for newbies, as it won’t blend once set. It is super pigmented and settles to a matte finish. It is indeed smudge proof and transfer proof as claimed. But when used on lower lashline and waterline, it does smudge a bit.

It stayed put for almost the whole day on the eyes, untill removed and around 6-7 hours on the waterliner and lower lashline, before smudging a bit. It comes off easily with a makeup remover. I love the idea of eyeshadow sticks since they are easy to use and carry.

Left: Ornament, Right: Moss

005 Ornament is a nice champagne beige with hints of gold. A perfect, everyday shade and would also work for office. You can even use it as a base and layer with more deeper or glittery shades for more intensity and a heavier look.

Top: Ornament
Bottom: Moss

004 Moss is my favourite, a bluish green shade which pops up the eyes. I love using it on the upper and lower lashline, as seen here. It’s a perfect spring color and would brighten up the eyes and face, it makes the eyes look more white.

Left: Moss, Right: Oranment

Here I have used the shade Ornament all over the lid and the shade Moss on the upper lashline and outer half of lower lashline and extended it and blended softly with an angled liner brush.

At Rs.850/- these are slightly expensive, but I am quite impressed with the quality. They do as they claim! I highly recommend these, I also like the shades Slate and Mulberry.

Colorbar Diamond Shine Lip Gloss: You’re not fully dressed until you add some Glitter! A Gorgeous high shine lip gloss that wears a feather and envelopes your lips with rich, intense Color in just one stroke, packed with Luxe shimmer. This soft highly pigmented gloss adheres perfectly and glides on flawlessly, to make your lips shine like diamonds. Enriched with Vit-E & comforting oils, it fits the lip care needs of every woman perfectly.

Features and Benefits:
High pigmented shimmer gloss
Light weight on application
Comforting oils to provide hydrate and conditioning to your lips
Smooth and creamy application
Enriched with Vit. E providing antioxidant properties
Color does not bleed on lips
Flocked paddle applicator to picks up a generous amount of gloss for a nice, even lay down of color
Preservative free

MRP: Rs.675/- for 3.8ml

Ingredients:

Available in 8 shades

Coming to the Colorbar Diamond Shine Lip Gloss, they come in a round, transparent, normal glass packaging. Since they are see through, you can easily identify the shades if you have more than one.

Now I am more into matte lipsticks and liquid lipsticks, I haven’t used a lip gloss in the longest time. But I guess once in a while, they look quite good. Of course, you get a nice, shiny pout with a lip gloss, which you can never with a matte lipstick.

These are completely non sticky, well pigmented for a gloss and the color stays well even after drinking, etc. These are quite moisturizing and light weight, and all that these claim! Mostly all lip glosses transfer a lot and don’t stay more than 1-2 hours, these ones do! They stay well for about 3-4 hours and survives light drinking, etc too.

I usually use a base color as a soft tint blended with my fingers and go over a gloss like this. The color and stain stayed put well though the evening for me.

002 Nude Glow is an everyday nude brown with silver shimmer

004 Pixie Pink is a bright neon barbie pink with silver shimmer

Left: Nude Glow, Right: Pixie Pink

Nude Glow is more universal and can be layered on any color lipstick and worn on it’s own as well. If you don’t like using lipsticks at your work place, something like Nude Glow should be perfect!

Pixie Pink can be layered but it is bright and pigmented enough to use on it’s own too.

If you are into matte and colored lip glosses sans shimmer, this is not for you. But if you like a shimmery, glossy pout, these are a must have!

I absolutely love Nude Glow, and it comes in 6 more shades. It is definitely very pricey for a lip gloss, but the quality is comparable to MAC and/or other high end glosses.

I have used the Lakme Absolute Matte Lip Tint in Pink Fantasy as a soft tint and blended with finger and the shade Nude Glow on top of it, in the first pic above, for this look.

What do you think of these new Colorbar Launches? Tried any? Your thoughts?

P.S: PR Samples. Honest Review

Top 10 Neutral Eye Shadow Palettes in India, Prices, Buy Online

Top 10 Neutral Eye Shadow Palettes in India, Prices, Buy Online

By Sanchita

Neutral eye makeup are the ‘in’ thing now and no matter it is daytime makeup look or night one, neutral eye always turns out to be the glamorous one. Improvising with neutral look is the safest choice if you are unable to decide the look you want. On Indian skin, the neutral look suits the best with pale browns, taupe, soft copper and bronze. Just add a dash of winged liner and a rocking lip color, which would give you a simple yet stunning look. These kind of looks can hardly be creates with one of two colors and you need a proper palette at your disposal. Hence, I thought of doing an affordable list of best Neutral Eye Shadow Palette in India. These brands are readily available in various e-commerce sites or retailed easily in the market. So, let’s take a look at the list.

1. Maybelline The Nudes – 899 INR (BUY HERE)

No matter what makeup it is, Maybelline will always top the list for me. The Nudes palette is has 12shades of various neutrals like browns, grey, bronze, and taupe with few matte and shimmery highlighters for various looks. It is perfect for both warm and cool skin tones and a number of looks can be created with this one. The texture is soft and the pigmentation is also good for daily wear. This is surely a great neutral palette for the price tag.

2. Urban Decay Naked – (Approx. 5000 INR)

The ultimate madness for neutrals started with the UD palettes and honestly, I can never decide which one to choose between the three. UD Naked palettes are legendary! Each of them is gorgeous to the core and undeniably amazing. Each palettes consists 12 colors and best for creating any neutral or soft smoky look. The texture is just like butter and highly pigmented. It is very easy to blend and layer and known for its outstanding quality. The staying power and finish is also commendable. Although the price is high but totally worth it.

3. Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 Palette – 1050 INR (BUY HERE for 790)

The Iconic range of Makeup Revolution is the dupe of UD palettes and are easily available in India as well. UD costs a bomb and hence when we want an affordable dupe, Makeup Revolution is the best deal we can get. Among all the Iconic and Iconic Pro, my favorite for neutrals will be the Iconic 2 which is the dupe of UD Naked 2. The combination of colors are very pretty with bronze, soft browns, grey, black and shimmery highlighters. It is a perfect daytime palettes and readily available on discounts as well.

4. MUA Heaven and Earth Palette – 1050 INR

One of the best neutral brown palettes I have used so far! Though most of the shades are shimmery finish but they look exceptionally natural on the eyelids. Most of the colors are warm toned and especially suit the Indian skin tones. The texture is very soft and pretty blend-able. The pigmentation is also good and you can layer it very nicely if you want that intense look. MUA also has the palette “Undress Me Too” (Review & Swatches HERE) which is another great palette for cool toned and grey colors. P.S: While Heaven and Earth is Urban Decay Naked Dupe, the Undress Me Too is Urban Decay Naked 2 Dupe

5. L’Oreal Paris Color Riche La Palette – 1399 INR (BUY HERE for 1119)

The Color Riche La Palette from L’Oreal Paris comes in a sturdy black casing with a double tip sponge applicator and an in-built mirror. It is a very recent launch in India and is available in 2 shades – Beige and Rose. The colors are very similar but has slight changes in them. The Beige one is lighter than the Rose. In my opinion, the Rose will be a perfect choice for the Indian skin tones with a handful of deep colors and various neutrals to choose from.

6. Sleek MakeUP I-Divine Makeup Au Naturel Palette – 1500 INR

This is a brand I surely want to be officially available in India! Their quality is impeccable and the price is comparatively affordable even after shipping and taxes. The texture is soft and creamy powdery and has very less fall out issues. The pigmentation is as gorgeous as it can get with single swipe itself! Their i-divine palettes are incredibly good and when it comes to neutrals, there are two best of the best – Au Naturel and Oh So Special. Au Naturel has beautiful peaches and deep browns and a jet matte black for night time look. Overall, it is a highly recommended one. (All Sleek MakeUP Review and Swatches HERE)

7. Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate – 1550 INR (Available on Nykaa)

The ‘Chocolate’ series of Makeup Revolution is worth all the attention is has. These are the dupes of the high end Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. Of course, Too Faced is high priced and often out of stock. However, the Makeup Revolution one is available and the quality is definite worth talking about. The blend of browns, burgundy, deep chocolate, beige and pearly highlighters is just as craving as a chocolate bar. The pigmentation is very good and a lot of day and night time looks can be easily created with this. P.S: I have the Too Faced Palette and I know how exactly similar this is, at 1/4th the price, this is definitely a must have!

8. Freedom Pro 12 Stunning Smokes – 1200 INR (Available on Nykaa)

Freedom is another London Based makeup brand and becoming very prominent in the beauty market in India. Their Pro 12 palettes are excessively popular with various mattes, nudes, shimmery and deep colors. The best neutral palette is the Stunning Smokes which has 12 gorgeous mixture of mattes and shimmery colors. The colors are so pigmented that even the lighter ones shows up pretty well on the lids and the texture is also a total winner.

9. FACES Glam On Color Perfect Eyeshadow Smokey – 599 INR

A quad of 4 shimmery beautiful colors – bronze, plum, taupe and a pearly highlighter with an affordable price tag is surely worth trying. The packaging is sturdy and compact which comes with a mirror and an applicator. The texture is soft with a decent saturation of color. It works well even without primers and will suit the cool and neutral skin tones very well.

10. Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette – 2300 INR

This is the closest dupe of the renowned Urban Decay Naked 2 and Naked 3. There are 20 colors in this palettes, consisting of various shimmery and matte peach, browns, burgundy and taupe. The texture is very soft and blends profusely on the lids. The pigmentation is also good and helps you the layer the deeper color easily. It has a very good staying power of 5-6hours without primer and the palette, overall, is a great value for money.

Editor’s Note: I love the Sleek MakeUP Oh So Special palette, it’s my favourite. And also the Too Faced Chocolate bar Palette, the Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate is an exact dupe shade to shade, another must have! I want to try the Coastal Scents Revealed 2. This is a very useful compilation Sanchita.

Soft Smokey Eyes Tutorial inspired by Mickey Contractor feat. MAC Cosmetics

Soft Smokey Eyes Tutorial inspired by Mickey Contractor feat. MAC Cosmetics

Hi guys,

MAC Cosmetics is celebrating 35 years of Mickey Contractor in Bollywood with a special video that has Mickey creating the iconic smoky eye look which has become extremely huge and popular all over!

Take a look at it here..

Remember ‘Chalte Chalte’, the Sharukh- Rani Mukherjee starrer? Rani Mukherjee’s makeup in the movie was done by Mickey Contractor and it was this smokey eye in majority of the scenes, plus it looked fabulous on Rani’s brown eyes.

I was asked to create my version of this smokey eyes using a few MAC products. I got MAC Blacktrack gel liner, carbon eye shadow and Feline Crayon Kohl.

Here is a small video on how I did my eyes..

I started with MAC Blacktrack gel liner as a base and smudged it with a pencil brush, went over it with MAC Carbon eye shadow. Blended everything with a matte brown eye shadow. Layered the black again with the MAC Feline Crayon Kohl and smudged it again.

Used Feline on the waterline and smudged it and used the matte brown eye shadow with a pencil brush to smudge the kohl along the lower lash line.

Highlighted with a matte off white eye shadow and the inner corners with a shimmery gold shadow, then curled my eye lashes and applied lots of mascara.

I went ahead and did my face normally, skipped the powder for a dewy effect and also used a soft highlighter on the high points including centre of the forehead and nose. Applied an MLBB rosy brown shade to complete the look.

Excuse the little redness in one eye, something irritated my eye :/

I hope you liked the look, do let me know in the comments below 🙂

Beach May Fab Bag Review

Beach May Fab Bag Review

Hi guys,

I am back with a Fab Bag review. This May, the theme was Beach- Sun,Sand and S*xy. The bag is a super cute, blue and white striped one. I love stripes and nautical, and this is by far, my favourite bag 🙂

MRP: Rs.599/- per month (Offers on 6 months and 12 months subscription. Go HERE)

Read my previous March Fab Bag Review HERE and April one HERE

Also, we have 2 full sized products in the bag and an amazing bonus item this month.

Let’s take a look at the products..

  • Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in Madrid (Full size- Rs.1200/-)
  • Vana Vidhi Oriental Rice Paddy Face & Body Scrub (Full size,70g- Rs.1599/-)
  • Vichy Ideal White Cleanser & Essence (small sample)
  • Bonus: Bling Scarf (Rs.500/-)

I absolutely love the eyeshadow quad and I am glad I got warm, neutral colors and not the bright oranges and blues which I don’t like much. Madrid is just perfect with golds and browns, I did this makeup look with it.. (See more pics HERE)

The Vana Vidhi rice scrub is nice, gritty but not harsh and moisturising with the blend of essential oils, which does not leave the skin dry. I quite liked it.

A scarf as a bonus is just perfect, they also have 3 different ways to wear a scarf in the Fab Post. Also, every person has got a different scarf, I believe, which is even more cooler.

My least favourite is the Vichy Ideal White, I am not a fan of whitening products, and not really a fan of sample sized skin care too, which does not let you judge much anyway.

But overall, I am so so happy with this month’s Fab Bag, from the bag to the 3 full products, it’s a total paisa vasool bag. Absolutely recommend subscribing to Fab Bag, coz I believe they are only doing better month by month.

Have you tried the Fab Bag yet? What did you get in your May Fab Bag?

FOTD: Golden Eyes (Indian Ethnic Look)

FOTD: Golden Eyes (Indian Ethnic Look)

Hi guys,

I attended a friend’s engagement today and felt like getting decked up a bit, so did some makeup and went with golden eyes.

I wore this pretty orange and pink lace anarkali with golden borders, it’s one of my favourites. So I went with golden and orange tones overall.

For the base, I used the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Reno Liquid Foundation, trying this out currently. Review coming up soon.

I received this pretty eyeshadow quad from May Fab Bag (Review coming next) called Be a Bombshell in Madrid which is the perfect blend of gold, bronze and orange, so I used only this.

I used the beige shade all over my eyes till the lid, the golden shade on the lids and the dark brown on the outer half and crease. For the lower lids, I went with the orangey shade in the inner half and the dark brown on the outer half.

Lined my eyes with the Maybelline Colossal Liner and used the Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara. For the waterline, I used the L’Oreal Paris Sapphire Blue Gel Liner which looks almost black.

And on lips, I used the Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipstick in REB04.

I skipped any blush or highlighter since the face was bright enough. I don’t generally use powders overall as I like dewy finish. But for T-zone, it becomes important as I have combination skin.

I had to rush and did not have much time to find products and hence, finished this quickly with whatever products handy 🙂

I hope you liked the look. It is quite simple and basic, do let me know in the comments below 🙂
