In the rule book of fashion, if there is one person whose name will be etched in golden alphabets, it will be without any iota of doubt, Sonam Kapoor. Since the day she stepped into B-wood, while many have questioned her acting and PR skills, no one can turn a blind eye to her impeccable sense of style and fashion. She is one sure-shot head-turner 🙂

Be it her casual looks, red carpet appearances, ethnic ensemble or ramp apparel, she keeps one bewitched. A personal favourite of the fashion police, let us have a look at the top 5 off-screen avatars of Sonam Kapoor when she left us gasping for more

1. ON THE STREETS OF MELBOURNE- Strolling the captivating streets of Melbourne and later attending a press conference with her father Anil Kapoor in absolute style, Sonam opted for a black LBD that not only looks casual but also professional. Unique, right? With her luscious brown locks loose and radiant skin, she surely set a lot of hearts fluttering.

2. DAY 2 OF CANNES 2013 – Sashaying down the red carpet of Cannes Film Festival 2013 on Day 2 in a custom made floral Dolce and Gabbana gown at the Jeune et Jolie premiere, Sonam raised the glam quotient of the event without going overboard thanks to her minimal makeup and accessories. The dress has a corset bodice with a voluminous skirt. And the print looks feminine, chic and quirky. It goes without saying that Sonam looked effortlessly drop-dead gorgeous.

3. AIRPORT LOOK- In one word, Sonam looks exquisite. Swaddled in a nude dress and black coat, with poker straight hair, nerdy glasses and black boots, she looks dressed like a French lady. Fashionable but not trying too hard to cast an impression- well, these things surely come naturally to this leggy lass.

4. PRDP PROMOTIONS DESI STYLE- In keeping with the underlying theme of Director Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, Sonam opted for ethnic attire for the promotions of the film. See here is Sonam swaddled in an ethnic attire by Radha Vakil and jewellery by Sunita Kapoor.

5. IIJW 2015 RAMP – With a flair to pull off most attires in the most flattering way, Sonam Kapoor defined regal as she wore an ornate Shyamal and Bhumika lehenga at the IIJW 2015 show for Birdhichand jewellers. And the dupatta that trailed behind her as she sashayed down the ramp, added all the drama a showstopper’s outfit can ask for

6. AT KHOOBSURAT’S TRAILER LAUNCH- Her attire (and co-star) is exactly what the movie’s title is –Khoobsurat 🙂 Opting for a black and white monochrome printed Toni Maticevski at the trailer launch of Khoobsurat, Sonam looked drop-dead gorgeous.

7. IN AN ABU-JANI SANDEEP KHOSLA SAREE- Resplendent – in one word, Sonam’s look during the promotions of Neerja when she swaddled herself in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla saree was magnificent. In fact, everything about this look is on point be it her hair style, makeup or choice of accessories. That’s how you style a saree.

Vichy Ideal White Meta Whitening Sleeping Mask Review

Hey guys,

I have used the previous Vichy Sleeping Mask i.e. the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa which I absolutely loved. So I was curious to try this new one.

What the Company claims: The range employs metabolic whitening with powerful active ingredients that work in harmony with each other to give Asian women the three dimensional fairness that they strive for – flawless, luminous and radiant skin. The 1st whitening sleeping mask three times more effective that works overnight for a dewy, brighter and fairer skin.

Product Concern:

• Hyper-pigmentation.

• Dull complexion.

• Sensitive skin.

• Hydration

MRP: Rs.2350/- for 75ml

Ingredients:

First of, I am not happy with the ‘Whitening’ tag it has. They can claim dewy, luminous, brighter, radiant skin and all that which they have but why whitening :/

It comes in a white glass tub with a pink cap and a mirror finish top. The mask is gel like in texture with a light pink tint and small tiny white beads in it. The beads are not meant for exfoliation, they dissolve on the skin when you massage the gel on your skin.

It has an aquatic plus a little chemically smell, not very pleasant. I like the gel based texture, that makes it very easy to glide on and massage. It can be used as a night cream or a night sleeping mask, either way the method of application is the same, just as a mask, you need to apply a little thicker layer.

As a night cream, it doesn’t get absorbed into your skin. It just sits on your face like a mask, and you have to wash it off the next morning. So ideally it is a mask only.

Now I have been using it on and off and stopped in between for a few days coz I broke out twice in between and had to see if this product is breaking me out. I once tried it as a mask during the day and kept it on and after 15-20 minutes, my skin was feeling a little itchy and hence I had to wash it off. I realized this mask was breaking me out earlier too, hence the delay in review.

There is some ingredient in the mask that does not go well with my skin and my skin starts feeling itchy and it breaks me out. So now I use it as a normal mask, apply and keep it on for 10 minutes and wash it off, I do not keep it ON for whole night.

If you have sensitive skin, I would not advise you to try this. This is good for dry skin and skin instantly feels hydrated and nourished even in 10-15 minutes. It definitely removes your tan and gives a translucent sheen to your skin which I love. I wish my skin didn’t react to this.

If I had to pick one out of the two Vichy Sleeping Masks I have tried, I liked the Aqualia Thermal Night Spa more.

Overall I would say, it is definitely amazing to remove tan and hydrate your skin, it does give a nice glow, but obviously temporary, you have to keep using it to see results. It does give a dewy, brighter skin as it claims. If you use it 2-3 times a week, that would be good enough. I recommend it for normal to dry skin. Though it mentions ideal for sensitive skin, I would not suggest it for them, unless you check the ingredients and are aware if your skin reacts to a particular ingredient.

Thanks to the outdoor shoot schedules, offshore promotional events or simply travelling to locales which offer moments of respite and tranquillity, airports become more or less the second homes of most B-town celebrities. And given that our Tinseltown celebs swaddle themselves in apparel that makes them the talk of the town (at times, in an unpleasant and unwanted way, unfortunately), keeping an eye of what they wore so as to borrow some practical ideas from those known for re- defining the rules of fashion, becomes pivotal. On that note, let us have a look at the B-town ladies who have the best airport attire 🙂

1. ANUSHKA SHARMA – Blend cuteness, effervescence, chirpiness and truckloads of energy and you will end up with Anushka Sharma. The lady is a livewire! She is often seen swaddled in the most comfy attire when making an appearance on airports. Not only are her clothes chic but also highly practical to borrow for women in the age group of 18-30. She sports denims of all sorts be it- ripped, skinny or colored and teams them with equally comfy tees. At times, she pulls on a jacket/hoodie that goes on not only with the look but also the weather which is highly practical an idea! I am borrowing some ideas, Anushka 🙂

2. DEEPIKA PADUKONE – The dimpled lass whose smile melts you in the twinkling of an eye makes heads turn for obvious reasons whenever she steps on the airport. Seen here is Deepika sporting an on-trend combination of white on denim, a bright lip paired with a black Birkin, knee-length boots, a floppy hat and oversized, sporty frames to accessorise. We are left drooling, Deepika!

3. KRITI SANON – A new kid on the block but a fashionista in the making- this is what comes to my mind as I see Kriti Sanon strut with panache at airports. Her attire too, is predominantly dominated by denims and comfy tees that make for trendy travel attire and who says tees are boring? Have a look at hers!

4. SONAM KAPOOR- One day I would definitely raid her closet! Even you would like to do so, won’t you? When everyone carries off comfy outfits, Sonam actually shows us what truly comfortable attire is. Seen here is Sonam draped in an orange-coloured off-shoulder maxi dress that not only looks trendy but also spells comfort. Given that India is predominantly hot for a major part of the year with even nights being uncomfortably humid at times, this maxi dress would make for a go-to outfit while commuting as it doesn’t stick to one’s body. If accessorised well, it makes for a chic outfit for a date/casual day out with pals.

5. KANGANA RANAUT – Here comes the lady whose clothes never wear her. Instead she wears her clothes with an attitude you cannot help but admire. Kangana Ranaut is seen here making her way out of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai wearing a maxi dress and a pair of boots with her hair tied in a bun. Perfect wear for women during summers while travelling, isn’t it?

6. ALIA BHATT- All of 21 and a name to reckon with in B-town, the young Bhatt girl is making all the right waves especially when it comes to styling. Alia’s dressing thankfully is reflective of her age. Young, energetic, vibrant and chirpy are the words that will come to your mind if you decide to have a sneak-peek into her style book. Seen here is Alia swaddled in a sky blue crop top, white ripped jeans and stipend shoes.

7. SHRADDHA KAPOOR- If there is anyone who has taught us how to wear casuals and look trendy in it round the clock, it has to be the petite Shraddha Kapoor. Swaddled in a pair of denims and comfy tees from time to time at the airport, Shraddha’s style does not scream for attention but rather comes across as a breath of fresh air reminding one that it is very much possible to enter the good books of the fashion police without robbing an ace designer’s exorbitant couture. Way to go, Shraddha. Keep it coming 🙂

They are trendy. They are chic. They are comfy. They can simply never go out of vogue given the myriad ways in which they come be it- long, short or pencil. No matter how old or young you are, there is an innate desire to swaddle oneself into one. It makes one ‘feel’ feminine and unlike most figure-hugging outfits which stick to one’s body and discomfit us especially during sweltering summers, they eliminate this woe altogether thanks to their design. Able to surmise which piece of clothing am I talking about? No? It’s none other than S-K- I-R- T-S 😀

With B-town ladies donning skirts for long in myriad designs, colours and styles, why not have a look at those ladies who nail skirts like no other? 🙂

1. DEEPIKA PADUKONE– The darling Deepika’s body can hardly not do justice to any attire. Be it figure-hugging one-piece dresses or ethnic lehengas, Deepika brings her own charm to the attire she swaddles herself in. Here Deepika is seen wearing a shift skirt by Nimish Shah and Furla heels. She wore a pinkish lip colour and chunky golden studs with the outfit. Her outfit has always been easy-breezy and this look is no different. Impeccable for summers, isn’t it?

3. PRIYANKA CHOPRA- The stunning Priyanka Chopra sets temperatures soaring with this mini leather skirt and heels paired with a checked tee as she launched the cover of a fashion magazine, which features her. Trendy and sizzling simultaneously, isn’t it?

4. JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ- This Sri Lankan beauty opted for a striped flared Giorgio Armani maxi skirt paired with white top as she promoted her then impending flick- Kick. With her hair let loose and a million dollar smile, Jacqueline stole the show.

5. GENELIA D’SOUZA- If smiles could kill, she’d be accused of a serial-killer. Inarguably the lady with those most dazzling smile in Tinseltown, Genelia looks every guy’s dream girl in this short green miniskirt that she has teamed with a tank top and jacket. Sneakers complete the look that is the epitome of freshness, innocence and cuteness 🙂 Cuteness personified, indeed!

New Asus Zenfone Max Review, Pictures #LiveUnplugged

Hey guys, If you follow me on Snapchat (bhumika_t), you must have seen this phone a lot by now, right from the secret it was to the unveiling on 23rd May, it’s been a week and I have experimented a lot with this phone, so here are my two cents on it.

The new Zenfone Max is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor and provides the users an option to opt for a 2GB or 3GB RAM. The internal memory of the phone has now been increased to 32GB, in addition to an expandable memory of up to 64GB. Zenfone Max with 2GB RAM is available for Rs. 9,999 and can be pre-ordered on Flipkart while Zenfone Max with 3GB RAM is available for Rs. 12,999 and can be purchased from Amazon, Snapdeal and Flipkart. Coming to my experience:

Asus Zenfone Max comes with a USB charger, OTG cable and a warranty card.

It is slightly heavy at 205gms but then a 5000mAh battery comes with a little weight 😀 I love the look and feel of it, especially the textured back cover feels expensive and nice.

When I opened the phone on 23rd May, it had no battery, so I had to charge it fully and it did take a lot of time, because 5000 mAh does take time to get fully charged. The charger is 1amp and a 2amp charger might help you to lessen the charging time, but I am not sure if the phone has the capacity for that.

Battery Test

Once it was fully charged on 23rd May night untill today right now, I haven’t charged it even once, it’s been almost 6-7 days. Right now too the battery is 51% left. To be honest, I have not used it extensively like for gaming, etc., just the camera, apps, surfing and normal stuff, but I haven’t come across a phone yet, that did not charging for 7 days straight! I am pretty sure with gaming and more extensive use too, this phone would last for 2-2.5 days easily!

Talking about the next fabulous feature, the OTG cable. How amazing it is to charge other phones and devices through a phone and not a powerbank coz your phone itself is a powerbank 😀 The OTG cable that comes along with Zenfone Max turns the phone into a powerbank and you can charge any device with it’s USB through this.

The camera is pretty decent, I would not say it’s the most amazing camera I have seen, but at this price point, I may. The 13MP rear camera captures details, colours and clarity fabulously. I absolutely loved the front camera though, it’s pretty clear and you can even adjust focus. It is dual sim and comes with 2GB RAM,32GB internal memory and supports 4G. The Asus UI is pretty decent too, it does come with some pre loaded apps but you can always remove those. The USP of this phone is the battery and the OTG cable! I haven’t come across a phone with all these features at a price of Rs.9999/- yet.

Definitely recommend it for people who use their phones a lot throughout the day and don’t prefer carrying power bank and USB cords with them, you won’t need to with this phone, just charge it through the night and you are sorted for 1.5-2 days easily even with heavy use! My brother is one such person, his work solely depends on his phone and he is on calls throughout the day. His phone is always dead by the time he reaches home, so I am surely gifting the Asus Zenfone Max to him 🙂

So as I have become more active on Snapchat and Instagram, I am doing less of outfit posts here and less of vlogs too, coz I show the outfit and the event videos on Instagram and Snapchat respectively.

But I decided to post this one on the blog. I got this abstract print overlapping shift dress from StalkBuyLove recently, I showed it my latest YouTube Haul Video HERE

I wore this outfit for the Splash Spring/Summer Collection Preview recently. I paired this dress with my gold block heels and blue Michael Kors sling and gold Michael Kors watch. Also added a stretchable gold belt to give the waist some definition.

I love the overlap effect and the abstract print. Also the fact that it’s half sleeves, this dress is something which can be worn for multiple occasions like a formal affair or a casual day out.

Last week I attended the launch of Swatch’s new Pop collection, if you follow me on twitter or Snapchat, you must have seen pictures from the event. It was at Exo at The St. Regis Hotel in Mumbai.

The event started with a presentation of the Pop collection and we were taken through the entire collection and it’s USP. All the watches in the Pop Collection can be bought with a range of accessories and can be used in multiple ways like a wall clock, table clock, pocket watch, neck piece, clip on watch, etc.

The new Swatch POP collection contains 9 watches to let your imagination run wild! Every watch comes with a clip to attach it wherever your imagination takes you. Change your style every day, stand out and express yourself! INTRODUCING THE POP ACCESSORIES — out of the box, a POP can become a watch, a desk clock, a pocket watch, a necklace or even a wall clock! There’s a great range of possibilities for them to be shown off!

The dial is removable and can be attached to any accessory to take that form. That is quite interesting and I have come across something like that for the first time. Absolutely loved the creative and innovative concept.

They had different ranges in watches from bright pop to neon pop and even monochromatic. If you wear more of basic outfits, then neon or bright pop is for you, it can pop up your outfit instantly. And if you are like me who loves to wear colours, the monochromatic range is perfect.

We mingled over drinks and munchies and also played a fun game where we were divided into teams of two and gave our very own pop to the watches with colours and glitter. I teamed up with Chandani and we made this..

At the unripe age of 19, she stepped into the glittery world of Tinseltown in a movie that thrived more on glitz and glamour and less on substance. Post the release, she was labelled a non-performer to an under-performer. The very next year, she came with a bang with a heart-wrenchingly honest performance in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway opposite the powerhouse performer Randeep Hooda and audiences unanimously exclaimed ‘The Student has grown up’. How true! Less than a year and she upped her acting game by leaps and bounds. With a few unsatisfactory performances in the past including the nowhere-Shandaar ‘Shandaar’ and the predictable and banal to death ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, she has managed to stay afloat as an ‘actor’. In the fashion department, given her age, she has dressed appropriately and that has caught the eye of the Fashion police. With a few glitches here and there, on average, her dressing sense is fun, youthful and exuberant. It’s none other than the chirpy Alia Bhatt and from her style book, today we are going to pick our best 5 looks that we drooled over. 🙂

1. THE FUN ONE-PIECE- Swaddled in a chic  TopShop dress and ASOS brogues, this young lady looked prepossessing during the promotions of her then, impending movie- Shaandaar. The pink lips, nude makeup and understated eye makeup make it picture perfect for she is looking trendy effortlessly.

2. THE CROP TOP LOOK – Teaming up a black crop with a pair of comfy shorts and a black hat, Alia looked the textbook definition of winsome as she attended the press meet of Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya. Not to forget that dimple adds the perfect dash of cuteness, doesn’t it? 🙂

3. THE DUNGAREE LOOK AT THE MUSIC LAUNCH- She danced in her usual effervescent self and shutterbugs went into frenzy as she did so at the music launch of Shaandaar. Alia carefully and in fact, smartly opted for ILK overalls by Shikha and Vinita which she teamed up with a dark checked shirt. Soft wavy hair and metallic sneakers from Aldo ensured that brought the house down as she swayed to the tunes of ‘Gulaabo”

4. BRINGING THE LADY OUT WITH THE BOW DRESS- Ringing her 23rd birthday celebrations with panache, Alia opted for a black off-shoulder dress with a huge silver bow on its top. It channelized all her vivaciousness in one go.

5. WHEN SHE STEPPED OUT IN BLUE- Donning a Kanika Goyal outfit with a cool tee, understated heels from Pheddies and a little dramatic makeup, this pretty lass looked drop- dead gorgeous as she stepped out to promote Shaandaar. The movie might be miles away from its title but the look Alia carried was surely one. 🙂

What do you get when you blend charisma, a feisty attitude, oodles of acting talent, raw sex appeal, glamor, uninhibited self-confidence and a ‘My way or the highway’ approach? Kangana Ranaut. This Himachali lass set her foot in Tinseltown with the blockbuster ‘Gangster’ in the year 2006. A decade down the line and she’s been aptly crowned as the ‘Queen’ of the very same industry that for long pooh-pooed her as an outsider. With an impeccable style sense, she gives all the so-called fashionistas who swaddle themselves only in high-end designer outfits, a run for their money. So, here goes a list of Ms. Ranaut’s top 5 offscreen avatars that caught our fancy 🙂

1. THE AIRPORT LOOK- Dressed in a polka-dotted shirt teamed with a short blazer and denims, Ms. Ranaut steps out to give us a view of this chic and understated attire. Comfort and effortless style characterise this look. Not to forget those aviators give a bad girl tinge to the appearance. Clearly a winner all the way, isn’t it?

2. THE GYM LOOK- With her lustrous tousled locks cascading down her back and a half front-open jacket loosely tucked in the pants, Kangana’s gym look looks badass to say the least. Sneakers make for comfortable footwear when it comes to training hard in the gym and that is exactly what Kangana opts for here. Overall, the look is rugged and drool-worthy. Or is it Kangana’s attitude that makes it stand out? Keep thinking.

3. THE NATIONAL AWARD MOMENT- Eventually, she looks the happiest when the actor in her gets acknowledged. Bagging the coveted and highly esteemed National Award for best Actress in a leading role (Female) for the third time for her flick- Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) that defied the Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility and went on entertain more than the prequel, Kangana looked a million bucks at the prestigious ceremony in an icy-hued Georges Chakra dress.

4. THE PRESS CONFERENCE LOOK AT TANISHQ- This curly haired feisty actress attended the press conference of Tanishq. She looked drop-dead gorgeous in a full-sleeved one-piece with nude pumps that complemented her attire well.

5. THE RAMP LOOK- Walking the ramp for Anju Modi on Day 2 of Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers India Couture Week in a heavily embroidered full-sleeved crop top and a matching lehenga. The attire had a golden embroidery. Carrying it off with panache, Kangana stole the show quite literally 🙂
