Why Stylish Sportswear is The New Trend

Sportswear, activewear, Sports Luxe, Athleisure — whatever you call it — you know it when you see it: stylish sportswear brands are taking over the fashion industry! Today, it is completely normal to see a baseball cap on the desk of your coworker, yoga pants at brunch or colorful cycling shorts on shoppers at the grocery store. Stylish sportswear is the new, modern uniform for those of the active, on-the-go mindset, or the go-getters who desire comfort, function and a casual style.

In this guide to stylish sportswear, you will discover:

  • When and how sportswear became fashionable
  • The activewear trends and sports that influenced the fashion industry
  • Stylish sportswear brands to know

Athleisure: The New Trend

Athleisure, or the trend of wearing active sportswear in everyday life, began to rise in popularity around 2010, and continues to grow in popularity. The sportswear fashion trend has become the new uniform of the non-uniform. Sportswear is no longer restricted to the courts, but has rebelled against its original parameters and can be seen in just about any setting. Wherever you find yourself today, stop and take a look around: in each new environment you find yourself in (e.g. the grocery store, work, your kid’s school, etc.), you will be able to spot at least 1 item of trendy activewear (but probably much, much more!). Though it seems commonplace now, why and how has sportswear become the new trend?

There are 5 main reasons:

  • Wearing fitness fashion is aspirational
  • Cultural movements + urban adaptations + social change
  • The innovation of fabrics + materials
  • Comfort + functionality + casual style
  • Sports’ + technology’s influence on the fashion industry

When did sportswear become fashionable?

Today, we don’t think twice when we see yoga pants populating our busy streets, sneakers in workplace settings or Fitbits on the wrists of our bosses, employees or customers, but this was not always the case. There was a time when fashion and beauty were relegated to women’s sphere of influence; however, media, technology and various sports brands began to alter the landscape of the fashion industry. Being able to wear comfy sweatpants, shoes that don’t hurt your feet and form-fitting tops of stretchy material is, after all, the ultimate luxury. Though this list is not exhaustive, the following activewear trends and sports movements heavily influenced the traditional fashion market and the modern cultural landscape.

Tracksuits, AKA Leisure Suits (Thank You Bruce Lee)

In the mid-1970s, Bruce Lee is credited with bringing into popular fashion the classic stretchy tracksuit. Though sportswear manufacturers began to create colored cotton and nylon jersey tracksuits in the 1960s, Bruce Lee made the style cool. When Lee wore his red two-piece tracksuit on his 1971 show, Longstreet, this was the first time this style showed up in popular culture on US television. According to his daughter, Shannon Lee, Bruce wore tracksuits all the time because he was always working out and he did not want any restrictions on his movements. Furthermore, he wanted his clothing to represent the simplicity, directness and freedom of his martial art.

Suddenly, athletic tracksuits in polyester, cotton, terry cloth and velour, and in blues, reds, greys and yellows were manufactured for purposes other than sports. You no longer had to be sporty or athletic to wear a tracksuit: just by simply wearing the tracksuit, you would embody athleticism and would express an aspiration to be just that.

High Society Skiers

In the 1920s, skiing rose in popularity among the rich and the wealthy, becoming a favorite pastime. Naturally, this new sport needed its own fashion style, so European fashion houses (such as Schiaparelli and Hermès) began to design ensembles for wealthy and fashionable skiers to wear on the slopes.

Though matching pants, jacket and sweater ensembles were constructed, the real breakthrough in skiing apparel occurred after World War II with the use of synthetic stretch fabrics and nylon. These materials enabled designers to design pullover sports tops that were both comfortable and allowed movement. Military clothing design techniques were also incorporated into activewear designs: zip pockets, concealed hoods and stirrup straps became mainstream features of skiwear.

Today, it is still common to see bright colors and stirrup pants, which filtered into mainstream use in the 1980s. Though we’ve let go of the mainstream acceptance of neon pink and turquoise one-piece ski suits, ‘80s ski jackets are still a hot commodity today due to their underground and cult appeal.

Run-DMC Sneaker Style

Run-DMC, an American hip-hop group founded in 1981, heavily influenced the hip-hop style when they insisted on wearing onstage what they wore on the streets. Though the modern hip-hop culture and style is almost synonymous with urban streetwear/sportswear, Run-DMC in the 1980s served as a catalyst for this change. Without intention, they initiated a shift in urban fashion and elevated hip-hop fashion to a new level of influence that remains a dominant power in the fashion industry today. At Run-DMC concerts, fans held up their three-striped sneakers in solidarity with the band, prompting Adidas to offer the first ever million-dollar endorsement deal for a hip-hop group.

Air Jordan & The Vertical Jump

Michael Jordan, the first ever billion-dollar athlete and arguably the most famous basketball player of our time, also had a hand in the rise of the stylish sportswears trend. Air Jordan is a brand of basketball shoes that were created by Nike exclusively for Michael Jordan in early 1984. Basketball players and non-athletics alike all began to lust after these functional basketball shoes because they were associated with Jordan, who had been skyrocketed into stratospheric levels of fame. Later on in 1984, Nike released Air Jordans to the public.

It is true that certain design features of basketball shoes will improve their function, with some basketball shoe companies even claiming players wearing their shoes can jump 3.5 inches higher than they would otherwise. Whether or not this is true, Nike Jordan and Air Jordan remain popular brands that are difficult to order online or find in stores today, because they are still in such high demand.

Yoga Pants’ Rebellion From the Studio

In the 1980s, leggings became a popular trend, though these soon fell out of fashion due to their see-through nature. Although the yoga pants’ precursor was just as comfortable, their transparency hindered their functionality and comfort for women.

In 1998, Lululemon created Boogie’s women’s leggings, and this is the fashion design that is credited with birthing the athleisure movement seen today. Additionally, with the rise in popularity of Western-style yoga and brands like Lululemon and Sweaty Betty who were making yoga pants, leggings came back, but in an updated fashion.

Though yoga pants were first and foremost a functional item, originally intended to be worn during yoga practice, this is quite possible the most popular item of activewear that has infiltrated the modern fashion industry and everyday wear. The fabric of modern yoga pants is opaque enough to be worn outside the yoga studio, and stretchy enough to be worn all day without losing its shape.

If you have any doubts regarding the popularity of this activewear trend, go outside literally anywhere and it is pretty much guaranteed you will find them on a passerby within the first 10 minutes of your searching. Whether or not the girls wearing the yoga pants have been to a yoga class that day is irrelevant: the trend of the super-stretchy, form-fitting material supersedes the popularity of the sport itself. Wearing yoga pants now has almost nothing to do with the sport/fitness activity of yoga: this athleisure fashion trend is symbolic of a larger cultural shift that is occuring in the US, which encourages a “clean eating, clean living” mentality.

The Humble Puffer Jacket

Eddie Bauer, a humble sportswear designed in the 1930s, created the puffer jacket after a close encounter with hypothermia. Inspired by the Russian military jackets, which were filled with down, Bauer then sewed the down into quilted sections so that it wouldn’t all sink to the bottom.

These puffer or quilted jackets became a fashionable trend among hunters, equestrians and rural folk, until the 1990s when the hip-hop scene popularized these activewear jackets even more. New York and Detroit hip-hop artists wore and popularized Helly Hansen, an outdoor manufacturer whose jackets were known for keeping the cold of northern US cities at bay. Today, puffer jackets remain a universal fashion trend and their styles have expanded and grown with modern styles.

Techies and Their Wearable Running Gear

The running world has been largely influential in the modern fashion industry: though analogue wrist watches were, at one point, all the rage, these stylish accessories have been traded in for fitness trackers. Modern wearable technology must meet our functional needs, as well as our emotional, social and aesthetic needs.

The popularity of wearable technology (such as Fitbit, Apple Watch, and other smart watches or activity trackers) his risen, in part, due to the mega cultural trend of Clean Living, mentioned above. The “clean living” mentality, coupled with the rise in technological innovations, has encouraged activities such as “detoxifying” the foods we consume or the products we use, as well as keeping track of our carbon footprint, fitness level and daily caloric intake. To help us modernize, wearable technology, such as the Fitbit, make it easy to track our individual health and fitness level. These products have become so influential in the fashion industry that there are a vast variety of aesthetic designs to apply to any consumer.

CrossFit: The New Tribe

CrossFit is a relatively new fitness brand known for its intense exercise regime. Focusing on high intensity interval training, powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics and calisthenics, the CrossFit brand is one of the most popular fitness trends in the world. The competitive nature of CrossFit gyms, in which CrossFit affiliated gyms will compete against one another, encourages team spirit and a powerful alliance among those who partake. Thus, CrossFit fanatics tend to identify with the brand of their gym: Reebok seems to have monopolized on the CrossFit activewear trend, and has even opened up specialist training centers and sportswear stores in the name of CrossFit.

The Wimbledon Effect

Jane Régny and Suzanne Lenglen were two parisian tennis players who designed and sold activewear for women in the early twentieth century. With their assistance, tennis wear became associated with country clubs and aristocrats, and has been consistently referenced since the 1920s as a preppy, collegiate fashion trend. Brands, such as Fred Perry, emerged with preppy styles of British Mod subculture, and has since become 100% streetwear despite its athletic roots.

Similar to Michael Jordan’s Air Jordans, tennis clothing styles and shoes were popularized into common everyday fashion due to the stardom associated with tennis’ key players and the popular desire to resemble these players. Off the court, tennis shoes are ubiquitous today: brands like Adidas, Keds, Lacoste and Diadora all offer their own spin on the style, solidifying tennis’ fashion transition from sports footwear to everyday footwear.

7 Stylish Sportswear Brands To Know

It’s clear: sportswear is no longer only for playing sports, nor is it primarily understood as casual dress. With the wide range of sportswear brands and retailers offering stylish sportswear, you can be comfortable in your activewear all day long, every single day! In addition to the activewear trends mentioned above, many sportswear brands have risen in popularity, which has significantly changed the modern fashion industry.

Retailers such as Gap, Forever 21 and J. Crew have hopped on board with their own activewear lines as well. Though the following are 7 of the most popular activewear brands, other brands have been just as influential in the modern trend of activewear and in altering the fashion industry. These brands include Vie Active, Pins to Kill, Sweaty Betty, Huntr, Outdoor Voices, Olympia Activewear and Live the Process.

1. Nike

Nike is the most valuable clothing brand in the world, which totalled $28 billion in 2018, despite a 12% drop in North America due to executive misconduct. Nike generated over $30 billion in revenue for each of the last four fiscal years.

2. Adidas by Stella McCartney

The collaboration of beloved designer, Stella McCartney, and one of the greatest sportswear labels of all time, Adidas, makes for a genius sportswear fashion line. With high quality and high performance fabrics, as well as styles in fashionable designs (floral prints, bold colors and futuristic designs!), you will never want to wear anything else.

3. Fabletics by Kate Hudson

Actress Kate Hudson created Fabletics, a brand of activewear designed to suit the wearer. After taking a quiz on style preferences and sizes, you can view a range of Fabletics products geared towards your needs. Fabletics takes the frustration out of shopping for activewear: finding the right product is a breeze when the curated pages are designed for you.

4. Lululemon

Lululemon has an expansive range of products: from running to yoga to training, Lulu probably has what you’re looking for. Their yoga pants and leggings come in a wide variety of colors, lengths and styles to suit everyone. They also offer free in-store yoga classes, which make them the ideal activewear brand.

5. Under Armour

Though Under Armour seems to have lost some popularity in recent years, it remains one of the leading brands in sportswear. In 2018, Under Armour generated the fourth highest sales of athletic apparel, accessories and footwear, and was ranked the fifth most valuable sports business brand worldwide in 2017.

6. FP Movement by Free People

FP Movement, Free People’s activewear, offers a wide range of designs to encourage both functionality and fashion. Decorative cut-outs, added straps, ultra-chic details are just some of the designs offered by FP Movement to encourage an active mentality without sacrificing style or your wallet.

7. Supreme X Louis Vuitton

The collaboration between luxury designers and sports giants has been largely successful and has established the new normal in everyday fashion. In 2017, Louis Vuitton was the first luxury brand to embrace so openly the streetwear movement: with its capsule collection, it endorsed a skater culture emblem, New York’s Supreme. With LV’s iconic red color and monogrammed products, the line was sold out in the first day.

Is Trendy Activewear Going Away Anytime Soon?

Probably not. According to The NPD Group, US activewear apparel sales increased in 2016 by 11% from 2015, totaling $45.9 billion and far outperforming the traditional apparel sector. Though many years ago activewear brands produced fresh trends maybe once or twice a year, the athleisure movement is in full swing today. With new designs for yoga pants, sneakers, tracksuits and trainers seen on the high streets, the sports and fitness fashion market is predicted to reach $231.7 billion by 2024, with an annual growth rate of 4.42%, according to Heuritech.

So, whether you love it or hate it, whether you are in full-support of stretchy, opaque yoga pants or actively trying to sidestep all the efforts of sportswear brands thrown at you via social media and other marketing channels, you can be sure that stylish sportswear is the new trend and it is here to stay, at least for a while.

OOTD: For The Love of Orange

OOTD: For The Love of Orange

Hi guys,

I am doing an outfit post after ages! I didn’t shoot anything new since Sept, almost 5-6 months apart from 1-2 campaigns in between which were not proper outfit shoots as such.

My photographer was busy with weddings and I wasn’t too keen in between. I had a bunch of things to shoot this time from this dress, to shoes and bag. I have also shopped a lot in the past 2-3 months from ShopBop, Zara and online H & M and Lulu & Sky, so expect more shoots and posts 😀

We did three outfits this time, and the first one was this. It’s a little difficult to get the venue and match the availability of photographer, venue and me i.e. on days when I don’t have events, shoots or any family stuff. So shooting 2-3 outfits at one go works best. But after two changes and clicking the third outfit, it gets a bit tiring :p

So anyhoo, coming back to this bright orange dress! I love yellow and orange, they are my favourite colours, apart from red. Anything bright and colourful and I am instantly attracted. I am loving mustard yellow, sunflower yellow, this orange and all sunset hues this summer (in fact, all year round :D)

This orange straight fit dress is from Afamado. It’s neither a shift dress nor a tight bodycon, but a straight, comfortable fit which hugs your body but doesn’t cling it.

Afamado has sizes from S to 6XL, so you can be any size and still you can get the dresses and they even have a ‘Made to Measure’ option where they can customize the outfit for you as per your exact measurements.

When I got this dress initially, it was quite loose and then they altered it for me. I lost some weight and it’s still a little loose, I clipped it from behind so that it gives a better fit 😀 But basically, it’s a boon for people who do not find the correct size in clothes as per their body type or have basic, boring things which they never like.

I love the interesting cold shoulder ruffled sleeves it has. I am not into sleeveless clothing, and this works perfectly for me. It’s not see through or sheer and I didn’t have to layer anything underneath.

Truffle Collection

I paired it with nude bow design shoes from Truffle Collection, these are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own and I have many! I am not comfortable wearing heels for a long period of time, but these I can wear. They are super comfortable and light weight, does not give any shoe bites plus look so cute! They work with everything from dresses to denims.

Loeffler Randall

I chose this colourful Loeffler Randall sling with round pom pom kind of floral work on it. This bag is super cute and colourful and even though the dress is bright, the shoes were nude and the accents of this bag matched the dress well as it had orange too.

Overall I really liked this outfit and how it came through. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below 🙂

Also I am looking for something lemon print, top or dress, do let me know if you find it :p

Bollywood Actresses Who Nailed The Punjabi Kudi Look

Bollywood Actresses Who Nailed The Punjabi Kudi Look

By Nidhal

There is something indescribable about an archetypal Punjabi kudi, isn’t it? An aura of cheerfulness, pertness with oodles of vivaciousness and a my-way- or-the- highway attitude that she naturally exudes – Punjabi ladies compel one to take a second, more relaxed look at the firebrand lasses.

With respect to their choices in raiment, they know what they want and make no bones about it and boy, they look drop-dead gorgeous in everything that they swaddle themselves in as if it were tailor- made for them in the first place.

A number of our leading ladies in Tinsel-town have oft essayed Punjabi characters. While some went too loud and embarked on a cheesy treacle, others gripped the audience, critics and fashion connoisseurs effortlessly. Discounting for the ones who took the audience for a ride, here is a precis of those leading Bollywood Actresses Who Nailed The Punjabi Kudi Look.

1. ANUSHKA SHARMA- With a radiant skin, glossy mane, piercing gaze and go-getter persona, Anushka slipped into the role of a typical Punjabi girl from Delhi named Shruti Kakkar in Band Baaja Baaraat opposite then newcomer – Ranveer Singh effortlessly. While the flick was exalted for its fresh script and execution, we cannot get over the burst of vivaciousness Anushka brought to the silver screen with her Punjabi character.

2. KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN- Here comes a Punjabi kudi in real life too. It is trite that expectations hit the ceiling when a real-life Punjabi lass essays a reel-life Punjabi character. Kareena’s portrayal of the loudmouth but lovable Geet in the 2007 rom-com opposite Shahid Kapoor – Jab We Met, won her accolades and appreciation from all corners. Naturally, she looks an archetypal Punjabi lady onscreen convincingly!

3. ALIA BHATT- The young and perky actress swaddled herself in typical bright Punjabi outfits in the rom-com Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania opposite the livewire Varun Dhawan who played the titular role. With oodles of rumbustiousness and boisterousness, she looked adorable onscreen.

4. PREITY ZINTA- With that enviable dimple on her cheek, Preity Zinta slipped into the role of a rustic Punjabi lass effortlessly. Clad in colour co-ordinated Punjabi salwar Kameez, while beaming joyfully she infused a new energy on the 77 mm screen.

5. GENELIA D’SOUZA- The livewire Genelia essayed the character of a Punjabi girl – Mini in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya opposite her now-hubby Riteish Deshmukh. Donned in typical embellished Punjabi suits and exuding a carefree attitude, Genelia nailed the look.

6. KAJOL- And who can give the powerhouse performer Kajol’s role in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham a miss? Essaying the role of a typical Chandni Chowk motormouth, her portrayal is hard to miss. Chirpy, bubbling with gusto and an out and out live-wire, she hits the bulls-eye with her styling and acting chops.

7. SABA QAMAR – A newbie to B-town, Pakistani actress Saba Qamar’s acting credentials are hard to overlook. So is her cherubic semblance. In the critically and commercially acclaimed Hindi Medium, Saba essayed the role of Mita Batra and carried off the typical Delhi lingo, mannerisms and body language convincingly.

So with that, we wrap up the look-book for the day. Did we miss out on of the leading ladies who, in your view should have made it to our list?

Rivaah Wedding Jewellery by Tanishq

Rivaah Wedding Jewellery by Tanishq

Hi guys,

Day before yesterday I went to the Tanishq showroom to checkout the new Rivaah collection, which is the special bridal collection launched by Tanishq

About Rivaah: Rivaah is an ode to the beautiful brides of India. As varied as the communities she hails from, the Indian bride looks absolutely resplendent in her wedding finery. Nurturing her hopes and dreams, and experiencing a myriad of emotions, she looks forward to her wedding day like no other, for this is the day she becomes one with her partner.

RIVAAH = RIWAAZ + VIVAAH

I love the name Rivaah, it is a combination (Sandhi in Sanskrit) of Riwaaz and Vivaah. They have rightly combined both ‘tradition’ and different types of ‘weddings’ in India, and brought together this special bridal collection catering to 13 different communities in India.

Doli & Swan Designs

They have kept in mind the traditions followed by the different communities and the signature wedding jewellery found in each community, for e.g. temple jewellery for South Indian brides, the jhalar design for Bengali brides, etc.,

Different communities they have covered:

  • Gujurati
  • Bengali
  • Bihari
  • Marathi
  • Kannada
  • Malayali
  • Marwari
  • Oriya
  • Punjabi
  • Rajasthani
  • Sikh
  • Tamil
  • Telugu

So whether you are a Bengali Bodhu or Gujurati Vadhu or a Punjabi Lari, and any kind of wedding jewellery you are looking for, you will find them all here.

Entire Bengali Trousseau

Also they have quite a few contemporary designs like swan and peacock, a doli bidai procession, dhol, etc., And a beautiful mix of uncut diamonds and gems with gold base for the modern bride.

The jadau and kundan sets are breathtaking, I absolutely loved the two I tried.

They have also covered every bridal function from mehendi to sangeet to the wedding and reception, and you will find a lot of pieces for each function from light to heavy.

As the wedding season is approaching, if you are a bride-to-be, I would definitely suggest checking out the new Rivaah collection by Tanishq as they have a perfect mix of trendy and classic bridal jewellery and the collection has something for every bride out there.

And no, these are not the pieces that you will just wear once and then would stay in the lockers forever, post your wedding. These are something which you can style in so many ways and wear for many different occasions.

Like this necklace I have worn here, is perfect for your cocktail or reception, but you can wear it again with an indo-western fusion outfit or a gown for your close friend or family wedding reception or cocktail. A royal wedding, a red carpet, would work everywhere. Even the gold pieces with detailed enamel work, can be paired with indo western outfits. You can wear just the earrings too for post wedding family dinners, etc.

They also have a beautiful collection of bangles and rings which you can mix and match with a lot of outfits.

There were so many pieces to choose from, I could only capture a few. I suggest going to your nearest Tanishq store and checking out the entire collection for yourself.

Let me know your favourites in the comments below 🙂

Best Off Screen Fashion Looks of Deepika Padukone

Best Off Screen Fashion Looks of Deepika Padukone

By Nidhal

Tinseltown stood testimony to the launch of Mr. Prakash Padukone’s daughter opposite SRK. It was the perfect launch vehicle. Renowned star, commercial film, huge budget, exotic and fancy locales, elaborate song and dance sequences, reincarnation saga, avenging the death of the love of one’s life by battering the antagonist black and blue, a song sequence entailing almost the entire B-town and aggressive promotions… Om Shanti Om (2007) was an ideal Launchpad for the lady.

To top it all, the movie was clashing with Sanjay Leela Bhansaali’s Sawariya which starred two star kids. So, the competition had some teeth in it too. The release date arrived. The box office stated its verdict. OSO thrashed Sawariya point blank and the leading lady of the former became an overnight sensation. Despite bagging almost all the Best Female Debut awards that year, her acting skills were limited and were panned by critics for long. With time, she upped her game, took things in her stride and today, she is no longer just Prakash Padukone’s daughter. She is Deepika Padukone

With humongous commercial successes like Chennai Express, Race 2 and YJHD in her kitty and an award-winning performance in Piku, this dimpled lady has set the bar high now. As far as her styling is concerned, it has evolved over the years and how! Almost everything she donnes has Fashionistas sit up and take notice. With a towering frame, heart-warming smile, almond-shaped eyes, drool- worthy physique and effortless sense of style, Deepika has no doubt become a sure-shot head- turner 🙂 On that note, let’s have a look at the BEST OFF-SCREEN AVATARS OF DEEPIKA PADUKONE THAT LEFT US DROOLING.

1. IN FENDI- Looking as fresh as a daisy, Ms. Padukone attended a promotional event for Bajirao Mastani in Delhi wearing Fendi separates with Zanotti ankle-strap sandals. With her luscious locks let loose and radiant skin, this look was easy, fun, casual and trendy.

2. UNVEILING THE DEEWANI-MASTANI SONG- Swaddled in a Tarun Tahiliani long kurta skirt look with relatively simple kundan earrings in Jaipur while unveiling the ‘Deewani Mastani’ song from her then, impending movie- Bajirao Mastani, Deepika looked a million bucks as she finished out the look with a matching lip shade and chic hairdo.

3. LET’S GO BLING- For another promotional event for Bajirao Mastani, Deepika opted for a monochrome striped blouse with a gold sequined pencil skirt. A studded belt from ASOS and cage sandals rounded her look out. To top it all, her poker straight hair looked chic and upped her glam quotient by leaps and bounds.

4. A LITTLE MORE BLING NEVER HURTS- Taking the bling look ahead, Deepika donned a pair of ripped bling jeans with a casual sweatshirt for the least leg of promotions of Bajirao Mastani. With her hair tied in a ponytail and s pair of heels, she sashayed as the shutterbugs tried to get a glimpse of this leggy lass. This look is apt for parties if you wish to break free from the monotony of one-piece dresses 🙂

5. GOING CASUAL WITH TUNICS- Keeping it casual and comfy during the Pune promotional tour of Bajirao Mastani, Deepika breezed through the scorching heat in a casual light grey tunic with distressed white pants, gold-tone jewelry,a brown belt, and animal-print ballerinas. It looks comfy and would make for an ideal pick for a casual day out with friends when the Sun is leaving no stone unturned to toast you

6. WITH TRIBAL JEWELLERY- Deepika gives one major fashion goals with this ochre Mango shift dress paired with a fringed Stradivarius vest that she donned for the promotions of Tamasha. The tribal jewellery is the perfect finishing touch.

7. IN MICHAEL KORS- The leading lady of Tamasha defines the art of chic dressing as she opts for a midi-length Michael Kors dress with Steve Madden heels. Add to that, her fresh as a daisy skin tone and you are sure to be smitten, aren’t you?

OOTD: Denim Blue Off Shoulder Crop Top, Floral Pencil Skirt

OOTD: Denim Blue Off Shoulder Crop Top, Floral Pencil Skirt

Hey guys,

OOTD time! The moment I saw this crop top in the Stalkbuylove’s Stalker magazine early last month in the New Arrivals, I knew I had to get this! It is off shoulder, which is a trend quite IN this spring/summer. Also the denim blue colour would compliment a lot of different bottoms from black to bright colors to floral like I have paired it with today. Crop tops are absolutely fabulous with anything high waist like high waisted denims/skirts/culottes.

I have paired crop tops with culottes, palazzos and lace mini skirt earlier. And yes with pencil skirts too, see HERE and HERE. And of course, when they come with it’s own set i.e. co-ordinates/matching separates makes it all the more better coz you can not only wear them as coords but also separately with basics.

I have paired this Chester crop top with a black floral skirt. I had this skirt since quite some time (shown in this HAUL video), when I saw this crop top, I knew I would be pairing it with this skirt 😀 Yes, I mentally put together my outfits all the time 😉

Also I love bucket bags, if you know I already have the big orange one from StalkBuyLove which I love using. And I also like backpacks, so when I saw this tan backpack which is like a bucket bag i.e. 2 in 1, I immediately added it to the cart!

Tip: Tan/Neutral bags and shoes will always work with everything, so if you like something in tan, don’t think twice and just get it, you will be surely using that a lot.

I completed the look with my Daniel Wellington watch and these black Forever 21 mules. Now I know mules don’t have a strap behind usually, but this one does. Had got them during sale, again had showed these in the above linked haul video.

Crop Top: StalkBuyLove
Skirt: Myntra (Dressberry)
Shoes: Forever 21
Bag: StalkBuyLove
Watch: Daniel Wellington

The Daniel Wellington flat 15% off coupon code ‘DWBHUMIKA’ is valid till 31st May.

I hope you liked the outfit, do let me know in the comments below 🙂

Birthday OOTD: Lace LBD

Birthday OOTD: Lace LBD

Hi guys,

So my birthday was on 22nd and I was in Jaipur that time, I just wanted to share my birthday outfit with you all.

I wore this lace little black dress from StalkBuyLove and paired it with everything gold. Also gold and black was appropriate for the Christmas and Party Season. I am so obsessed with this dress, I would have worn it for New Year Party for sure, sadly no plans :/

I paired it with gold tassel earrings, rose gold watch and a glitter clutch. Also stacked some gold midi rings and my trusted black and gold ankle strap sandals.

We clicked this at Nahargarh Haveli in Jaipur where we were staying for 3 days, it is an old haveli refurbished into an hotel. There are similar other hotels in Jaipur like Nani Ki Haveli, Alsisar, Virasat, etc.

Our first two days were at Zone By The Park and I would be doing a separate post about it, coz the experience was mind blowing.
