OOTD: 80’s Frills Dress

Hi guys,

A new OOTD today, this week I attended the Grazia BeauTea Party at The Taj Mahal Tea House in Bandra. It was a small meet of 6-7 bloggers and the Beauty Editor and Art Director of Grazia India. It will be covered in next month’s Grazia magazine which is the ‘Beauty Special’, so do grab your hands on that 😀

Anyhoo, this is what I wore. I am loving this red frills skater dress, it is so so comfortable and the frills make it look super pretty. Also it was a common style in the 80’s and has made a comeback and why not when all the styles from 70’s and 80’s have 😀

I paired it with my black fringed sling bag and black and gold ankle strap sandals. Finished with my current favourite Michael Kors rose gold link watch.

Hair Tricks that Make You Look 7 Years Younger

Hair Tricks that Make You Look 7 Years Younger Sometimes its our hairstyle that makes us look more mature for our age..we need to get a cut that takes the ages off..here are few tips to exactly do that..

BE A BANGS PERSON

Reese Witherspoon

If you’ve never had them, know that bangs work Botox-like wonders in disguising forehead wrinkles. “They also make your hair appear fuller, which helps deflect from thinning,” says celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino, who works with Elle Macpherson and Fergie. His advice? Go big or go home: “Thick, softly beveled bangs are the most girlish,” he says. If that sounds too rock ‘n’ roll, try a long, sideswept fringe, which creates pretty movement and also erases years.

SHAKE UP YOUR CUT

Penelope Cruz

We’re shouting it from salon rooftops: The difference between a haircut that’s aging and one that’s age-defying comes down to layers. “Without them, hair doesn’t move–and nothing makes you seem older than stiff hair,” says hairstylist Juan Carlos Maciques of the Rita Hazan Salon in New York City, who works with Jennifer Lopez. “No matter what your length, you want delicate layers throughout and face-framing pieces. This creates lush, healthy-looking hair, which softens your entire appearance.” (Blunt cuts, on the other hand, can catapult you a decade, à la Callista Gingrich.) And we’re setting the record straight on length: You don’t have to abandon long hair for a short, so-called sensible ‘do when you hit 40. “Just get regular trims so your hair maintains that healthy look,” Maciques says.

EMBRACE YOUR TEXTURE

Halle Berry

If you have kinky or African-American hair and wear it natural, “a cut that’s shoulder-length or shorter is the most youthful–any longer, and your hair starts to balloon around your head, which piles on the years,” says hairstylist Tippi Shorter, whose clients include Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige. This hair type also needs a serious wallop of moisture to prevent it from getting dry and brittle (an instant ager). For this, use a curl-enhancing product, says Shorter, whose fave brand is Kinky-Curly. “It’s an ethnic hair-care line with different curl enhancers, from a lightweight serum to a rich cream, so there’s something for every type of curl.”

YOUTH-IFY YOUR PONYTAIL

Slicked-back styles put every pore and fine line on full display. Instead, use your fingers to rake your hair back into a ponytail or bun, which creates soft ripples and a slightly fuzzy finish that’s relaxed and sexy. “It’s okay if it’s a little messy–that’s what makes it young,” Pipino says.

GET YOUR SHINE ON

Octavia Spencer

As every Disney heroine reminds us, glossy hair is a symbol of youth and vitality (anthropologists, incidentally, agree). An at-home glaze like John Frieda Clear Shine Luminous Glaze, $9.99, restores sheen with nourishing oils and works on all hair types, including ethnic. Apply it once a month to wet, freshly shampooed hair; wait five minutes, then rinse and follow with conditioner.

STAY TO ONE SIDE

Julianne Moore

Unless you’re going for that Maria Callas, super-diva vibe, “a center part can make you look severe,” Maciques says. His softening tip: Shift your part to the side and make it slightly zigzaggy, which creates an effortless look that (bonus!) hides grays and roots.

Blunt Bangs and the Style Redefinition

Blunt Bangs and the Style Redefinition

In case you are preparing to have a major makeover, you should consider getting blunt bangs. You have a lot of different styles to choose from, including the more subtle ones, or you may also achieve a more dramatic look.

The best thing you could do is to talk to your hairstylist regarding the look that you want to get, and about the hairstyles that are suitable for your facial features. In case you have long hair you could get some layers besides the blunt bangs for the ultimate effect.

If you don’t want to sacrifice the length of your hair, consider a more voguish style that is urban chic and offers your look refinement and glamour. The bangs could do magic for your hair to make your look more interesting.

Why would a person get bangs? Because they offer immediate transformation to just any look, and you don’t have to change your entire hairstyle. In case of the blunt bangs you will have your bangs cut straight across your forehead, temple to temple.

Don’t forget that the bang hairstyle is actually a fringe hairstyle and so you will have to have your bangs straight. There are a lot of different hair products that could help you with this. The hair cutting technique that your hairstylist uses could also have a word to say in the final outcome of the look, and it could make your work easier or harder to style your hair.

In case you don’t want to have long hair, there are also some short hairstyles that allow you to have bangs, such as the pixie hairstyle. There are a lot of elements that could make your hairstyle look more interesting. You could go for the asymmetric styles, and the hair color that you choose also influences your overall look. You should make sure that you get a color that is suitable for your skin tone.

Before you actually get a new haircut, there are a lot of factors to consider. In case of the bangs one of the facial features that influence the final look is your forehead. In case you have a small forehead having bangs might not be the best choice, because they will make your head too small.

On the other hand, if your forehead is too large, having bangs could hide this fault, but in this case you should make sure that the bangs aren’t too long or too short.
