Giorgio Armani Sì EDP Review

By Linda

Hello gorgeous ladies,

Hope you had an amazing Diwali with your loved ones. Today’s review is about a lovely fragrance called Si by Giorgio Armani. A sale assistant at the counter in the Mumbai international airport (Duty Free Shopping) allowed me to try on this perfume and assured me that once sprayed on to your clothes, this perfume will last for at least 3 days. Yes!! You heard me right 3 days, so I went ahead to try it. I’m very particular in terms of perfumes since I dislike strong fragrances or perfumes that are too sweet and fruity. Strong perfumes tend to give a headache secondly I cannot spray perfume on my skin since it irritates easily. Fragrances that are subtle and yet lasts for long is what I like and look for. As I tried on this perfume, it was easy for me to decide as I instantly fell in love with this classy fragrance. There were other various collections in Si range. But this was the best high end perfume I found for myself. I was offered this perfume on a discounted price since I purchased various other things in Duty Free. So let’s find out more about this awesome fragrance.

Product description: An Aromatic rose scented fragrance. At once chic, voluptuous, intense and soft. Si eau de parfum lingers on the skin and enchants the sense. The distinguish and elegant fragrance allows women to express their every emotion.

Si has a top note of blackcurrant nectar, a heart of freesia and Rose of Mai, with a musky blond wood base. This fragrance was created for the modern women who’s strong yet feminie, sophisticated yet charismatic. She embodies the very essence of chic Italian elegance and style.

Price: Approx 7000 INR for 50 ml.

Packaging: The Perfume is packed in a glass transparent bottle with a black cap giving a sophisticated yet a feminine look with the brand names printed. It comes in a well packed carton box. The shape of the bottle is convenient to grip and comfortably hold on to the nozzle to pump required amount of fragrance. The ingredients of the perfume are mentioned on the back of the carton box. I always keep it in the carton and carry along with me while I’m travelling overseas.

My take on Giorgio Armani Sì Perfume

In simple words this fragrance has a subtle yet unique note that I never came across .It does not even irritate the skin or give any sorts of headache once spraying onto yourself or your clothes. It smells feminine and sophisticated. I had many of them asking me as in which perfume I’m wearing. The smell remains on all day long. You need not carry the bottle along with you all day since the fragrance just remains throughout once sprayed. And as the sales assistant assured me it definitely remains on your clothes for days.

I haven’t sprayed this perfume on a sunny and humid day. Mostly sprayed it during an indoor event in cool temperatures.

I do not use it on daily basis since I don’t want finish the bottle soon 🙂 It’s perfect for important events like high end parties, job interview, meetings or even a date, where you can get easily noticed for this classic perfume and a few raised eyebrows here and there. Believe me it’s hard to explain in words how the perfume exactly smells but handsdown it will be totally worth it. I’m definitely buying this perfume again hope it remains on the permanent collections. A Must buy!!.

Pros:

  • Unique Fragrance
  • Lasts really long (Clothes and skin)
  • Does not irritate the skin
  • Does not given any headaches (atleast for me)
  • Smells simply awesome
  • Suitable for any event(wearable perfume)

Cons:

  • None

Rating: 5/5

Who Wore What- IIFA Awards 2014

Who Wore What- IIFA Awards 2014 and the Green Carpet

So after the press conference, promotions and pre- events which I covered HERE, lets move on to the main awards IIFA 2014.

My hits and misses..

1. Jahnvi Kapoor in D & G

Jahnvi chose a Dolce & Gabbana full skirted dress and strappy sandals..with a soft, messy updo. Cute, I did say.

2. Parineeti Chopra in Nikhil Thampi

Pari chose this one shoulder peach Nikhil Thampi gown..the color is good..but is it not a little too simple ? I did not like the Rahul Mishra one sheer skirt though..did not flatter her figure..this is atleast better.

3. Kalki in Gaurav Gupta

Kalki in a grey Gaurav Gupta gown with silver detailing all over. No, a little too much..plus the color is too dull on her.

4. Yami Gautam in Gauri and Nainika

Yami in this monochrome Gauri Nainika gown..though it screams high school..but she always looks cute !

5. Dia Mirza in Sabyasachi

Dia looked amazing in this pink and gold ombre Sabyasachi embellished gown with Amrapali jewellery..that dress is stunning !

6. Gauahar Khan in Ken Ferns

Gauahar in a red Ken Ferns gown..is it Christmas already ?! Did not like the silhouette too.

7. Kareena Kapoor in Armani

Kareena chose this black sheer panel Armani dress..a little too bold..but she pulled it off quiet well !

8. Sridevi in Oscar De La Renta

Sridevi chose this black shimmery Oscar De La Renta gown..perfect makeup, hair updo and studs..she looks ravishing !

9. Priyanka Chopra in Monique Lhuillier

PC chose this embellished nude Monique Lhuillier gown..smokey eyes and an elegant updo..she looked great.

10. Sonakshi Sinha in Amit Aggarwal

Shimmery Navy Blue Amit Aggarwal gown, Bottega Veneta clutch, soft wavy hair..Sonakshi looked quiet good.

11. Deepika Padukone in Zuhair Murad

Dippy chose a Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad red lace gown..I liked the gown..but the berry lip :/ Does not work with this at all.

12. Dia Mirza in Halston Heritage

Beautiful peachy orange pleated Halston Heritage gown, Jimmy Choo clutch and an Amrapali multi chained layered necklace..Dia looks stunning here !

12. Madhuri Dixit in Sonaakshi Raaj

Again a Sonaakshi Raaj after Bipasha in white..this time Madhuri chose a different color..and I am glad..coz that color looks amazing on her..loved it. (Both these Sonaakshi Raaj outfits are from the recent Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2014..and I had attended this show)

13. Swara Bhaskar in BCBG

Swara chose this coral BCBG illusion panel dress..I like how the illusion panel works on her..nice..

14. Kareena in Armani

Kareena chose a Giorgio Armani again..separates here..a beaded white top and velvet paneled skirt..bright orange lips completed the look.

Also there were many blacks ! Madhuri chose a black Jatin Varma and Malaika a Shivan Narresh, Bipasha a Rocky S..too many black gowns seen !

I loved Sridevi, Madhuri, Kareena, Dia and Priyanka !

So, whats your pick ? Whose outfit did you like the most ?

P.S : I do not own any images.

Giorgio Armani Fragrances: Acqua for Life 2012

Acqua for Life – Giorgio Armani

A powerful drop of water is enough to create a world
and dissolve the night.
Gaston Bachelard

Giorgio Armani is proud to renew his ‘’ACQUA FOR LIFE’’ Challenge in 2012 to stimulate greater public awareness about environmental and developmental problems, by promoting access to safe water for children and their communities in poor countries.
The Aqua for Life Challenge is inspired, and linked to the exclusive fragrances Aqua di Gio for men and Aqua di Gioia for women, which are both associated with water, and closely connected with a perception of nature’s bounty, freshness, and environmental harmony. Acqua for Life’s objective is to provide millions of litres of drinking water to populations without any access to it. Water that is essential for drinking, eating, guaranteeing a minimum of hygiene and maintaining one’s health. The goal is commensurate to the challenge: offering, this year, a minimum of 40 million liters of drinking water to populations in need.

As of March 1, 2012, every bottle of fragrance sold will generate a donation of 100 liters of drinking water per year to children and their communities. The participants will then be invited, through a personal code indicated on the outer carton of the chosen fragrance, to extend their action online. To get involved in the Acqua For Life challenge, one can also visit facebook.com/giorgioarmanifragrancesindia

TARGET
Because they are the most vulnerable to water-borne diseases and it is their future that is taken hostage by this uncertain water supply, children will be the primary beneficiaries of the donations collected by the “Acqua For Life” campaign. Armani has committed  to continue support in 2012 of new Green Cross International ‘Smart water for Green Schools’ infrastructure projects to collect and distribute every year at least 40 million litres of water.
Mr Armani says ‘’ I am always very aware of problems connected to the environment and in particular to water, an element I love very much since it is regenerative, precious and essential to life’’.

ACTION PLAN
In 2012 the ‘’Aqua for Life’’ challenge , a solidarity campaign on a global scale and with a strong focus on the Internet, is committed to continuing and extending support to Green Cross  International’s efforts to improve access to safe drinking water. GCI’s Smart water for Green Schools programme provides water to communities where access to safe water is limited. The 2012 challenge will inform widely on the global water crisis and, through the strength of the Armani brand, serve as a catalyst to spread the message on a global scale. The Armani Group also supports for the third year UNICEF’s Tap Project in the United States, which funds water projects in poor countries.

SUCCESS OF THE 2011 CAMPAIGN
The Acqua for Life Challenge 2011 benefitted 10 communities located in the Eastern region of Ghana. A total of approximately 27,000 people living in 16 communities including 3,500 children received access to safe drinking water as a result of the campaign.

MORE ON:

GCI is headquartered in Geneva and has a growing network of national organizations in over 30 countries.

Mr. Giorgio Armani along with Green Cross International has launched the ‘Acqua for Life Challenge’ wherein he has committed to promote access to drinking water worldwide to populations without any access to it, primarily children.

Centered around the world of Acqua di Gio and Acqua di Gioia, two fragrances inherently in harmony with this theme, every bottle sold will generate a donation of 100 litres of drinking water per year to children and their communities. The customers will then be invited, through a personal code indicated on the chosen fragrance, to extend their action online and create their own support group for the cause.
