July My Envy Box Review

July My Envy Box Review

If you guys don’t know what is My Envy Box yet, go HERE.

July My Envy Box Review, Indian Makeup and Beauty Blog

Check out my previous months’ boxes:

MRP: Rs.850/-

This time too, a lavender box like the previous June one.

What I got in my box:

  • Three 10ml bottles of Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment– Full size Rs.450/- for 100ml- I am glad that there are 3 bottles this time. One bottle of 10ml is enough for 2 uses, coz its supposed to be used only on the scalp. This is going to last a long time and I like Kama products. Hope this works for my hair. Would update you guys
  • Eau Thermale Avene Very High protection Sun cream SPF50+ (5ml)– Full Size Rs.1250/- for 50ml- I have used Avene VHP SPF50+ Sunscreen spray before and liked it. This is a little richer though and meant for normal to dry skin.
  • Two 6ml sachets of L’Occitane Aromachologie Control Styling Prep Cream– Full Size Rs.1990/- for 200ml- Its a leave in conditioner. Have not used it yet. Sounds good though
  • Kama Ayurveda Mridul Soap Free Face Cleanser- small sample- Full Size Rs.295/- for 40g- Its an ayurvedic, natural soap free cleanser which is to be mixed with water and massaged all over the face. I wanted to try this from a long time and I am glad I got to. Really liking it so far.
  • Eminence Organics Red Currant Balancing Concentrate- 2ml sachet- Full Size Rs.6413/- for 35ml- I am not a fan of Eminence Organics or small 2ml sachets. Not happy with this.

I would have loved to try the H2O Sea Moss Replenishing Body Lotion instead of the Eminence Organics Concentrate since I am not much into anti-ageing skin care.

Overall its a mixed bag yet again. I liked the Kama products and the fact that there are 2 hair products in the box this time. But definitely expect much more from My Envy Box.

Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Treatment and Range Review

Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Treatment and Range Review

If you remember my #MakingUpWithMatrix posts on my facebook, twitter and Instagram, I had gone for this Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Treatment at the Matrix Hair Academy. And later on, I was using this range to see the difference.

I was attended by Faiyaz Shaikh– Asst. Manager, Artistic at Matrix.

About the Fiberstrong range: BIOLAGE Advance FIBERSTRONG is the next generation of hair care from MATRIX that offers anti-hair fall hair products & services specially formulated to tackle weak, fragile and brittle hair.

Fiberstrong combines the goodness of Nature with BAMBOO and the power of Molecular Science with INTRA-CYLANE to give 95% less hair breakage in just 1 application. Bamboo passes on its strength to the hair promoting the elasticity of hair strands. Intra-cylane, an exclusive patented molecule, helps fill in the gaps and seals cuticles to reduce breakage. These indulgent ingredients help in creating a structural reinforcement system to strengthen weakened hair cuticles as they condition the hair for ultra -soft & smooth results.

It claims to have the power of Intra-Cylane and Bamboo extracts which gives 12 x stronger hair. Its a hair strengthening treatment against hair breakage and hair fall. And also claims to help reduce hair breakage by 95% in one application.

Step 1: At first, the hair is checked, by pulling one strand of your hair. If it goes back to its position and has elasticity and is strong enough. Upon that, its decided which stage of treatment your hair requires.

There are 3 stages:

Stage 1: Normal hair..not much breakage

Stage 2: Hair does not have enough elasticity and is prone to hair breakage

Stage 3: Damaged hair..breaks and falls easily.

Thankfully, I was falling under Stage 1, but Faiyaz said he would give the Stage 2 treatment so that I can see the difference.

Step 2: Hair wash and conditioning with the Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner.

Step 3: Fiberstrong Intra-Cylane Concentrate is applied on every section of hair.

Step 4: Fiberstrong Strengthening Masque is applied.

Step 6 and 7: Hair is rinsed and towel dried.

Step 8 : He applied Fiberstrong Strengthening Leave-in-cream and blow dried..and finished with few drops of Matrix Biolage Serum for shine.

This treatment is to be followed by using the Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Strengthening Shampoo, Conditioner and leave-in-cream at home. Faiyaz made me feel my hair and I could definitely feel the difference.

For Stage 3 hair, special Aminexil ampules are used which anchor the roots and prevent hair fall.

The treatment costs anywhere between Rs.600- to Rs.1500/- depending on the hair damage stage and the salon. Its available in all salons which house Matrix services and products. Find a salon near you HERE

The products used..shampoo, conditioner, masque, leave-in-cream,serum and the intra-cylane concentrate.

And here is my before-after..

A front after shot..why break up when you can make up 😀

Coming to the Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Strengthening shampoo and conditioner I was using later on..

Shampoo claims and usage:

MRP: Rs.270/- for 200ml, Rs.485/- for 400ml

Ingredients:

Conditioner claims and usage:

MRP: Rs220/- for 98g, Rs.380/- for 196g

Ingredients:

I like the packaging in gray and green…the shampoo foams well and cleanses hair well..I normally see hair falling during shampooing too..but with this range, the hair fall during shampooing was very less.

The conditioner is not very creamy and moisturising..its light in texture and easy to use and rinses off easily since not very rich.

I see volume and strength in my hair and less hair fall too, but my hair is not soft and smooth which I generally prefer. Maybe its coz  of the conditioner, I do like the shampoo though. I would recommend this range for fine, limp hair which faces a lot of hair fall.

If you have tried many hair fall shampoos and conditioners and nothing has worked for you, give this range a try ! I am sure you will not regret. And also try and include the Intra-Cylane strengthening leave-in-Cream with it. I have not used that..but that would give better results together.

The Fiberstrong Treatment is surely worth a try..and at that price, its quiet worth it too..your hair does need some strengthening apart from the regular haircuts and styling !

Have you tried the Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Treatment or Range ?

P.S: I was offered the service and products for review, but it has not affected my opinion.

TRESemme Split End Remedy Shampoo, Conditioner Review

TRESemme Split End Remedy Shampoo, Conditioner Review

What the Company claims: The new range incorporates Amino Vitamin Blend and helps to rescue split ends, resulting in – easier to style, more manageable, shiny and stronger hair.

TRESemmé Split Remedy Shampoo gently cleanses hair of oil and dirt while the TRESemmé Split Remedy Rinse Out Conditioner conditions hair strands leaving your hair look healthy and stay smooth. TRESemmé Split Remedy is a salon quality formulation with Amino-vitamin blend and helps rescue up to 96% of split ends with use of shampoo and conditioner in just three washes for healthy-looking, smooth hair ready to style.

How does it work?  The Innovative range contains Silicone, amino-vitamin blend and conditioning ingredients. All these ingredients from the formulation work in synergy to reduce split ends of hair fibre. The Silicone in the formulation has ability to form a lubricating layer on hair fibre. When hair is treated with shampoo and conditioner this layer helps to coat hair fibre to help bring hair fibres and split ends together. This layer also helps to reduce friction between 2 fibres and improve hair alignment.

This also includes blend of vitamins- Vit H, Vit B3, Vit C and Vit E along with lysine all known nourishing ingredients. The formula also contains poly electrolyte complex, oppositely charged polymers which are known to aid bringing split ends together.

Shampoo Claims:

Ingredients:

MRP: Rs.170/- for 215ml

Conditioner Claims:

Ingredients:

MRP: Rs.170/- for 215ml

I had been trying out the TRESemme Split End Remedy  Shampoo and Conditioner as I had mentioned HERE and had even shared on my facebook..from about 2-3 weeks..

And now its time to review them. First of, I am loving the bright green  colored packaging..the smell and feel of this shampoo and conditioner is totally professional salon kinds.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are white in color with normal texture..not too runny..have a nice fresh smell..that stays throughout the day! They have a easy flip cap packaging.

The shampoo lathers amazingly well..you do not need lots of it..it foams well, cleanses well..and gets rid of all the dirt and oil in a jiffy.

The conditioner is not the heavy moisturising kinds..but does its job well..I work it especially towards the end..since its meant to mend split ends..

If you read the ingredients carefully, you would see Keratin, Bition, Vitamin E, Vitamin B3, Vitamin C, etc which are all very good for the hair. It definitely gave me healthy looking, smooth hair as per their claims!

Now, I do not have much of an split ends problem, so cannot comment on the difference it makes. But what, I love about this range is, it is super light weight and gives my hair the shine and bounce..even the next day..I love how my hair feels after using this! No frizz, no weighing down, no greasiness. Only nice smelling, shiny, bouncy hair.

You can see my love for this range and how much my hair loves it.. my hair stays well behaved with this range.

I surely recommend this range..its my current Holy Grail! Highly recommend it.

L’oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Oil, Shampoo and Conditioner Review

L’oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil, Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Hey everyone,

With tons and tons of new shampoos coming up (pun intended), its difficult to catch up with all and review all. I tried the Sunsilk Natural Recharge at first..and then this L’oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish which I was using from quiet some time..and now shifting to the TRESemme Split Remedy.

For now, I have been using the combination of these three..so lets review them today.

L’oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil: The Extraordinary Oil has been scientifically created to give your hair the nourishment it truly deserves with three traditional oils and three exotic oils providing 6 specific benefits. It has no heavy feel or greasy look. Almond Oil –Makes your hair Thick, Coconut Oil – Makes your hair Manageable, Argan Oil –Gives your hair Strength, Jojoba Oil –Gives you Shiny hair, Olive Oil – Makes your hair Soft, Camelina Oil –Smoothens your hair

The first hair oil that is powered by 6 Micro Oils in a unique formula to provide 6 specific benefits. The Research & Innovation Centre at L’Oréal Paris in India have created perfectly balanced oil that that makes your hair look healthy and beautiful with a spectacular shine with every use.

6 oils-

  • Argan
  • Olive
  • Almond
  • Coconut
  • Jojoba
  • Camelina

6 benefits-

  • Strong
  • Soft
  • Smooth
  • Thick
  • Shiny
  • Manageable

Application: Apply on hair and scalp and gently massage before washing off. Can also be applied as a finishing touch.

Ingredients:

MRP: Rs.199/- for 100ml (Buy on Flipkart here)

L’oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Shampoo: The 6 Oil Nourish Shampoo has been created to provide complete nourishment to your hair from root to tip with 6 Micro Oils™making it soft, shiny, thick, strong, smooth and manageable.

Application : Massage gently into wet scalp/hair, lather and rinse for soft, nourished and healthy hair. Apply twice if required.

Ingredients:

MRP: Rs.69/- for 75ml, Rs.138/- for 175 ml, Rs.235/- for 360ml (Buy on Flipkart here)

L’oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Conditioner: The 6 Oil Nourish Conditioner, a first of its kind from L’Oréal Paris, can be used on the scalp. This conditioner provides complete nourishment to your hair giving it the 6 benefits of the Oils used.

Application: Post shampooing, gently massage this conditioner on your scalp and hair and leave it on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing.

Ingredients:

MRP: Rs.80/- for 65ml, Rs.150/- for 175 ml (Buy on Flipkart here)

Starting with the Extraordinary Oil, it has a strong artificial smell..comes in a glass bottle..you need to be careful with this one..and the dispensor takes its own time for the oil to come out :/

Its quiet light in texture and never gave that chipku look..gets absorbed well..hair does not feel greasy or heavy..and it was easy to wash off too..did not require multiple washes..

I am not a fan of using it post washing as a serum..its slightly heavy to be used as a serum and may weigh down the hair.

Except for the fact that it has mineral oil and that too 68% :/ Mineral oil is not entirely bad for the hair..if you have curly hair, then it works for you all the more..what is does is, it forms a film on the hair..means it prevents moisture from going in..but its two way..so in a way it helps in controlling frizz but also prevents other useful products to reach the hair..but actually it also has some benefits and I would not discard a product if it has mineral oil..the question remains..how much qty of mineral oil is used in the product ! I also read that mineral oil should not be used on dry hair as it locks the dryness and dries them over..but it has worked for some and not for some..there are mixed opinions. I did not face much of an issue with this one.

Overall I would say I would have preferred lesser mineral oil..I mean 68% is quiet a lot !

Coming to the L’oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner. I have tried these oils in hair range before..with the Dove Nourishing Oil Range and Sunsilk Radiant Shine Range..both of which I loved ! So, the hair range with oils have always worked for me..

Does this one too ? Lets find out.

These have a yellow colored packaging and both are golden yellow in color..the shampoo has tiny shimmer which reflects. I love the amazing smell.

Shampoo is the perfect texture..not too watery..lathers amazingly well, washes off easily..and leaves hair smooth and detangled..

Conditioner is rich and creamy and coats hair well and leaves hair hydrated and moisturised.

I only felt that conditioner if used slightly more, can weigh down normal to oily hair since its a little rich.

Also, they claim that this conditioner can be used directly on the scalp..I did not try it and would not recommend it too..after all its a conditioner !

Though the shampoo does have SLS and conditioner, the silicones.

The range gave me shiny, smooth, detangled hair but weighed hair down sometimes..especially when all three used together since I have normal hair..It would work amazingly well for dry hair.

Overall, I would say this range is amazing for dry hair..and normal hair can work it too but carefully..but I would not recommend it for oily hair.

Rating:

Quality: 3.75/5
Value for money: 3.75/5
Availability: 4/5

Overall Rating: 3.75/5

Would I buy it again: May be in winters or when my hair is drier..I am liking newer ones for now :p

Post Holi Biguine Kérastase Hair Ritual at JCB

Post Holi Biguine Kérastase Hair Ritual at Jean-Claude Biguine Salon
So I did play Holi and my hair was definitely affected even though I had oiled it..and even though I had played only with colors..those colors are pretty drying dude..

And I had to wash my hair thrice to remove the color..that made the hair all the more drying..as the essential oils on the scalp which moisturise the scalp are also lost with frequent washing..

I definitely needed some hair pampering..and got to try this hair ritual at the perfect time..

Jean-Claude Biguine had post Holi Biguine Kérastase Hair Rituals..its like a detox for the hair..here is the official press release:

Indulge in the Biguine Kérastase Hair Ritual at Jean-Claude Biguine Salon and Spa

There’s no better day than Holi to let your hair down and indulge in some colourful revelry. So, don’t let it end on a sour note with hair woes. Post the chemicals and colours, indulge in the Biguine Kérastase Hair Ritual at Jean-Claude Biguine Salon and Spa for healthier and beautiful hair.

Hair can turn brittle and extremely dry if color remains in it for a long time. The Kérastase hair treatments provide shine; they moisturize and condition the hair, and help in repairing all types of hair damages. The Kérastase Chronologiste Caviar Ritual uses mimetic caviar pearls and special creams to nourish hair and make it feel softer, stronger and more lustrous. It is an excellent choice for deep conditioning of hair and scalp. Kérastase Ultime Liquide-Gold Oil Ritual provides instant radiance and deep nourishment to all types of hair – making it intensely shiny with a weightless touch. The Monodose Ritual is an express treatment that is offered primarily with a hair-wash. A Monodose Ritual for dry hair nourishes hair and makes it soft to touch.

The Kerastase hair rituals begin at INR 1500++ up to INR 2500++. The services are available across all Jean-Claude Biguine Salons & Spas, in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

To avail of the Biguine Kérastase Hair Ritual, book an appointment at your nearest salon.

Our present locations: Mumbai Bandra: 022- 65222211 | Colaba: 022-22153311 | Juhu: 022-66995555 | Kemps Corner: 022-66501111 | Khar(W), Linking Road: 022 26462626 | Lower Parel: 022- 65113311 | Lokhandwala: 022 – 65653300/22| Ghatkopar : 022- 25171700  Bangalore | Phoenix Market City, Whitefield: 080-67266666 | Lavelle Road: 080 – 41514000

So I went for this hair ritual..you must have seen my pic on Instagram, if you follow me. I was assisted by Zara.

And after checking my hair, she suggested the Kérastase Chronologiste Caviar Ritual for me..as my hair was slightly dry. I also asked her the difference in three and which is meant for which type of hair, and she explained well.

Chronologiste Caviar Ritual is meant for normal to dry hair
Ultime Liquide-Gold Hair Ritual is meant for all types of hair
And there is one more..Signature Kerathermine which is meant for extremely dry hair

She explained the whole process in Chronologiste Caviar Ritual and how its not real caviar..since real caviar is super expensive and they cannot use it world wide as vegetarians and vegans would have an issue with it..so its basically artificial caviar..made up with vitamins, etc that are beneficial and hydrating for the hair..

Durations: 1.5 hrs

Price: Rs. 1500/- for Ultime Liquide-Gold Oil and Rs.2500/- for Chronologiste Caviar and Signature Kerathermine

Procedure followed:

1. My hair was checked first and after suggesting the Chronologiste Caviar Ritual, we started off with it..

2. Hair was shampooed twice with Kérastase Nutritive Bain Satin 1 Shampoo..and towel dried.

3. The caviar was crushed and mixed well with the creme and applied all over the hair in sections..each strand at a time.
Artificial Caviar
Caviar and Creme
Mixed together
4. Then head and neck was massaged..and I was like sleeping on the chair..it was so super relaxing…Zara has magic in her hands !

5. Hair was given a mist (indirect steam) for 10 mins.

6. Washed hair again with plain water.

7. Kérastase Elixir Ultime Serum was used generously and hair was dried giving a cold blast and once normal blow dry. (no styling)

And this is the before and after..

I am telling you this pic does not do any justice to how my hair felt..they were so super soft and smooth..I just could not stop touching my hair !

I had to go for a hair cut the next day..and since it was blow dried and styled I could not wash and judge the difference later on..I will update this post as to how long the effect lasts and till when the hair feels and looks the same :p

But from what Zara told me, if hair is taken care of with proper serums and conditioning, the effect lasts a month..and this can be done monthly..or else if very dry hair, twice a month.

At JCB, they use mostly Kérastase and L’oreal Professional..and a few Moroccanoil products..

I highly recommend trying out the Biguine Kérastase Hair Ritual at Jean-Claude Biguine Salon..if your hair is normal kinds, the Ultime Liquide-Gold one would do..but its definitely to be experienced..you will love your hair !

I think its a perfect addition to must-do’s before the wedding for the brides !

Have you tried the Biguine Kérastase Hair Ritual at Jean-Claude Biguine Salon ??

P.S: Services were offered by the brand but that has not affected my opinion.

Godrej Expert Rich Crème Hair Colour Review

Godrej Expert Rich Crème Hair Colour Review

Ok so I am not into coloring my hair as of yet..don’t worry..I have not got the greys yet. When I got the chance to review the Godrej Expert Hair Color, I thought of trying this on my mom..and thats what I did.

About Godrej Expert Rich Crème Hair Colour: It comes in a Sachet form with the creme and developer sachets separately..The sachet costs Rs.30/-

  • It has Aloe Protein
  • comes in pre-measured sachets, that makes it easy to use
  • no ammonia formula helps retain hair protein
  • keeps hair strong
  • 100% grey coverage

Ingredients:

Warning: Please do a patch test first before using. Some people might be allergic to some ingredients.

You may need:
  • Colourant and Developer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Brush
  • Gloves
  • Ear Caps
  • Stain Removal Wipe
  • Conditioner

Godrej Expert Rich Crème Hair Color comes in 5 shades: Natural Black, Black Brown, Dark Brown, Natural Brown and Burgundy

Directions to use:

I got all 5 shades..Natural Brown was what worked best for my mom.

Mixed the Creme and Developer in the mixing bowl..and used the brush to mix well. And applied it all over the hair and in the sections with the brush and using the hands through gloves..

L: Crème and Develeoper R: Mixed
Mom kept it for 30 minutes and washed it off with water and used the conditioner at the end as mentioned.

Since mom had already coloured her hair previously and keeps doing it, you won’t see complete whites but brown here and there..the colour was uneven..and in the after pic..as you see, the colour is more even..and looks great….hair is softer and gives a nice shine.

There was no ammonia smell since its ammonia free.Like any other hair colourant in the market, Rich Crème also requires a patch test.

Also the quantity felt short for evenly using throughout..a woman’s hair easily needs 2 packets of these..one can be used only for touch ups, etc..

Overall, its quiet easy to use…and the whole process takes hardly around 45 minutes..I liked the effects too..

Would update you guys on how the colour fared and stayed.

Have you or your mom tried Godrej Expert Crème Hair Colour ? Your views ?

P.S: PR Sample. Honest Review.

TRESemmé introduces the new Split Remedy Range

TRESemmé introduces the new Split Remedy Range
One of the favourite hair care brands of New York’s fashionistas, TRESemmé, has always been driven by a simple truth; every woman deserves to look fabulous as if she has just stepped out of a salon. Recommended by hair stylists all over the world, TRESemmé unveils the secret of split end rescued, salon style hair at home every day with the new TRESemmé Split Remedy Range.
Women often complain of a bad hair day and hide their tresses compromising on style. Split ends, as a matter of fact, may actually be one of the reasons why women experience a bad hair day and hide their tresses. Excessive use of heat styling tools, chemical processing, bleaching and prolonged exposure to sun are known to cause damage and may contribute to split ends.  Most women believe a salon haircut is the solution to get rid of split ends. Unfortunately, it makes one compromise on length as well as hairstyles.
TRESemmé understands women’s intrinsic desire for salon gorgeous hair at home and the need to style hair without compromise. Hence, it introduces its specially designed Split Remedy range, for women seeking a solution to split ends and enjoy their beautiful length.
The new range incorporates Amino Vitamin Blend and helps to rescue split ends, resulting in – easier to style, more manageable, shiny and stronger hair.

This layer also helps to reduce friction between 2 fibres and improve hair alignment
This also includes blend of vitamins- Vit H, Vit B3, Vit C and Vit E along with lysine all known nourishing ingredients. The formula also contains poly electrolyte complex, oppositely charged polymers which are known to aid bringing split ends together.
