So, I shaved again after that and here is an update for you guys. The process has been so so smooth and easy plus super quick. If you read the previous post, I told you how Dr. Rashmi Shetty told us if your skin is well moisturised and then you take a shower and shave, the skin is soft and moist and you can shave in ease. But do not let the skin soak in the bath for too long as the water will plump up the skin and that may affect the smoothness of shave. Ideal time would be 1-2 minutes. I tried that method and it was super amazing.
My skin did not feel any dryness or stretched. There were no white flakes as we usually see in dry shaving or sometimes our skin itches due to that. There was no itching too this time. The Satin Shave gel makes it more softer and prevents skin from drying.
So the myth of shaving makes my skin dry and flaky is busted,right here! If you use the correct products and method, it does not. I am going to continue using this method. I love the fact that it is so small,handy and convenient..fits in a palm. And there is only a cap head and one cleansing attachment to be carried along with this and a tiny brush to clean it. Super travel friendly.
The epilator head is round and tapered and has rotating tiny tweezers on the side too which makes it ideal to use it anywhere on your face and angles. I mostly use it for my upper lips though. Even though most of us get our upper lips done at the salon, there are always this in-between days where the upper lips grow fast and its quite annoying to visit the salon especially for upper lip wasting our precious time too. Also when I was out of town for my honeymoon for 15 days, I desperately needed this for my upper lip as I had forgotten my tweezers too and none of the 6 hotels we went to, had tweezers! Imagine my plight. I would have surely carried this with me, had it launched before my wedding! It would have been a savior. Travelling,long trips, no time for salon visits, etc is when Braun Face is God sent for us 😀

I was shit scared using it for the first time, reading some previous experiences of people, but it was not even as painful as the salon threading! It took some time as the corners and edges are difficult to get in, but it was quick and took me about 10 minutes for the entire upper lip. There was no growth for about 10 days after which I used it again.
Even right now when I am on bed rest and cannot walk, this is very handy. I have already used it once after being discharged from the hospital.
The second cleansing head is equally amazing, and I have used it every alternate day before. It cleanses every speck of dirt and grime from the face. I have used it post makeup removal too. The bristles are soft and its not at all harsh on the facial skin.
You need to change the head after every 3 months of use. It comes with 2 years warranty and only needs a battery cell to operate. The hair can be easily cleaned using the brush it comes along.
You just need to press the click button below to remove/change the heads.
I had a similar mini tweezer from China before..reviewed HERE. It was not so good quality wise but still very handy. This is amazing in comparison and the cleansing head is a total bonus. Absolutely recommend it!

P.S: Do a patch test before if you are intolerant to pain and cannot stand tweezing at all. If you regularly get your upper lip threading done at a salon, this would hardly hurt in comparison.
Gillette Venus Review and the Apt #UseYourAnd Campaign
“And” does indeed act as a wonderful oxymoron. Gillette has firmly taken up the challenge of standing up against stereotyping, given it a feminist flavour and has come up with a wonderful take on the same. A video which asks women from around the world to shed the one dimensional labels, telling them that they can be much more, much more than what they think they can, and they fit the “Master of multiple trades” tag wonderfully. A video starts with a young girl playing around with a helmet dreaming to become a astronaut.
This instantly reminded me of my childhood, when I used to run upto my mother after learning about new professions from TV or newspapers or magazines or anywhere else. I used to tell her, ” Ma, I want to become a soldier/firefighter/cartoonist. And she used to say, ” Haan beta. Why not?”
The video, for starters, is indeed inspiring. We, daughters and sisters in urban India have had the privilege of education and getting the opportunity to fulfill our dreams and ambitions.
The way I see it, this video is a tribute to our mothers, who were our teachers AND protectors AND role models AND cooks AND helpers AND the WORLD for us. My take on the video is, we do not need to look elsewhere for inspiration. All of us have to become much more than the girl next door. We are amongst the first ones from our generation who have got education at par with our male counterparts, have persevered more than anyone else to excel in what we do.

Reviewing the Gillette Venus razor was relatively straightforward. Its quick, its smooth and it looks sexy. In short, in keeping with the spirit of the video, the razor is quick AND smooth AND sexy AND affordable. It has a great designed body, and comfortable finger grips, pivotable head and is in every respect a Premium razor, except for the price tag – INR 199/- 🙂
It goes so smooth in a single stroke and the adjustable head takes the curves at the shape of our legs. So no adjusting,no nips and tucks, a pretty easy and quick experience. Also I noticed very less ingrowth after using Venus and the hair started growing after a good 12-13 days unlike with the usual. The soft cushiony cover around the three blades at the center and the blue indicator strip showing when to replace the blade adds to the convenience of this super amazing razor. You also get a separate pack of 4 cartridges priced at Rs.449/- and one cartridge stays a long long time, so you would not need to replace them soon.
I think it is THE perfect razor to own and every girl should have it, even if you are not into shaving, sometimes you do need a razor! There are always those emergency situations and this is the one worth investing in.

The Mumbai Bride Diaries: Bikini Wax or Bikini Laser?
Hey guys,
With around 2 plus (few days) months left for the wedding, I was contemplating whether to go for bikini wax or bikini laser hair reduction, coz its its laser, the sessions take time as there is a gap of around 1-1.5 months in between each session.
All of my friends until now have gone for bikini wax before their wedding or otherwise. And most of them still continue to do so, every single month! I have no idea how they bear the pain :/ I have never tried bikini wax and even the thought of it scares me!
One of my cousin and aunt had got the bikini laser hair reduction done from Kaya Skin Clinic and recommended the same to me.
Two things that need to be kept in mind for bikini laser are:
Cost involved
And its hair reduction, not removal
That is, hair reduces and there is very less/minimal growth but not complete removal in laser.
Bikini wax also has few issues like not every salon does it, unbearable pain and going through it every single month! And bikini wax at a good salon also costs anywhere around Rs.700/- to Rs. 1200/-
After contemplating the pros and cons, I decided to go for bikini laser hair reduction at Kaya Skin Clinic. Also, coz I have already experienced the underarm laser hair reduction at Kaya. Currently, bikini laser costs Rs.27,000/- for 6 sessions. They also have bikini+underarms combos which turns out more economical.
I already started with the first session last week. The area is marked and the doctor checks and gives the reading. Then the area marked is shaved. Unlike in underarm laser, they use an anesthetic cream (Prilox) that is to be kept for 45 minutes before the bikini laser starts.
One session takes about 1 hour 15 minutes in total. And there can be a gap of 1-1.5 months in between 2 sessions depending on the growth.
The laser does prick at few places and you can smell the burning hair roots, but its not unbearable kinds. And the pain is not continuous. You feel nothing at few places and a little more pain at few, especially the most sensitive part. (you know where)
They apply an ice pack after the laser is done, followed by a cream. I got some redness but it subsided in a day. You will feel the urge to pee immediately, but control for 5-10 minutes.
Post care is the same:
Use a moisturizer every 3-4 hours. Do not let the skin feel dry.
Do not wax.
Do not use soap, gel, etc on that area for 1-2 days
No swimming for a week
One thing to be kept in mind is, you can get the session done 10 days after your periods have ended.
I do see some growth which I was told, I will, the same case as in underarms. But most of those hair automatically fall off. My next session is due next month and I will update you guys about it.

Ok..so at first, let me tell you I have never used an epilator in my life ! And was super scared by all the scary stories I had heard..
When I was using it for the first time, I was literally chanting God’s name :p And I am very serious..coz I have sensitive skin..so I was a little nervous and scared..
I used it in shower..on wet skin and on my legs..I have used it twice by now..with an interval of about 2-2.5 weeks in between..and a fully charged battery lasts both legs each time..each leg takes 15-20 minutes now..the time I took the first time was longer obviously coz I was not used too and a little scared..
I was shocked on how smooth it went..without any discomfort at all..it was super easy..and all my inhibitions were gone..
It comes with the smoothing cap with Gillette Venus technology (the one that is used wet..it epilates and at the back end shaves at the same time), an efficiency cap (the one that is used dry..without the shaving blades) and a cap for sensitive areas (a narrower head). The pivoting head and Smart Light help see all the minute hair..and the head turns to any areas easily on the curves of the legs..and also the 2 speed settings help adjust the speed..once you are comfortable on 1st..you can move to 2nd..
I use the smoothing cap in shower..and the only issue is there are some hairs which have been epilated but in the wet form..you do not come to know whether that hair is still left or epilated as its stuck..and you go over that area again and again..and also leave or forget some areas..those I cover after the shower..with the dry efficiency cap..
End result is smooth, silky legs ! There was no redness, no discomfort, no pain..but ya it takes some time and patience as you have to go over each area..
I am not sure if its this epilator in particular or what..but for me, the experience was amazing..and I have not waxed my legs from the time I have started using this..coz I am loving this !

Coming to the cleaning part, when used dry, the hair blows off easily..and the small brush that comes with it is quite helpful..but when used wet which is how I use..it takes a lot of cleaning man..all the heads and tweezers have to be cleaned well to get rid of the hair under forceful running water..and then dried well too..
But nonetheless, with the benefits it comes with..I am ready to clean it 😉 This has made my life so easy ! And they recommend after three uses, since the hair is both epilated and shaved with the smoothing cap..after a cycle of 3 uses..the hair growth reduces too ! I am looking forward to my third use..and would update you guys on that..

Its very small and handy to use and travel alongwith. It has a small rotating tweezer which picks up your hair as any normal epilator. It also has a small brush alongwith to clean the tweezers.
The correct technique is very important with this..that is holding it in a particular direction for it to work..I got it right after many trials and errors. It would not work and just do nothing if you do not point it properly.
The main problem with this is, it does not pick up fine hair..and it was not so useful on the upper lip area coz of the very same reason.
It works well on straighter areas like hands..and this is almost painless..you do not even realize that you hair have been tweezed out.
