I tried the Dafni Straightening Hair Brush and here is my mini review and demo..

I heard so many good things about this and when finally I got to try this, I was really excited. A lot of brands have tried making similar straightening brushes like Corioliss, etc., but Dafni was the first brand to make it and it’s their original concept.

Claims: Dafni is an innovative straightening brush that is based on a revolutionary technology and a unique patent pending 3D ceramic surface design.

  • Lesser time: Your straightening time will be reduced by a whopping 10 times. Lesser effort just brushing through will straighten your hair.
  • Lesser damage: Your hair remains damage free in the long run despite heat induced straightening. The contact area is 10 times larger than a usual straightener. It works with thicker sections as well, covering more area in less time. It requires less number of passes to straighten, which means less damage. Its smart software maintains a constant temperature, which is recommended as the optimum temperature to avoid heat damage. Since the temperature doesn’t vary, heat is distributed evenly along the shaft of the hair, reducing risk of damage to the hair cuticles. It takes only 1 minute to heat up and it’s ready to be used. As with usual straighteners, the hair strand isn’t being pressed between two hot plates. The hair runs freely through the bristles with 3D heat applied evenly as it moves along. This method doesn’t dry the hair strand out. It also leaves hair bouncy and adds volume to it. Brushing is intuitive. Hence, straightening becomes easier and the results are better. Reaching those tricky spots at the back of your head won’t be a problem anymore. 44 spring loaded insulators on top of the bristles protect the scalp from the hot surface.

Dafni has a contact area that is 10 times larger than normal hair straighteners this makes hair straightening really easy and fast and you can actually straighten your hair in less than 5 minutes

It comes in the standard black and purple packaging. It is 12 inches in size and is slightly heavy, but not as heavy that it would weigh down your hand or pain while straightening.

It looks exactly like a hair brush, the bristles have a vaccum base. It comes with just one on-off switch, no other complications. And it has one standard temperature.

I know my hair is naturally straight but it’s all wavy and curved towards the lower half and ends specifically, so this gave me a nice and sleek look. The results are not miraculous on my hair as most of it is straight anyway.

It takes 60 seconds for the brush to heat up and I straightened my hair in less than 2 minutes. It’s as easy as brushing your hair and anyone can do it. The red light blinks for 60 seconds and it turns green once it’s hot. And you can switch it off, once you are done. Even if you leave it on, it will switch to standby mode in 15 minutes.

Demo..

If you have curly hair, this is a blessing for you! It may take you about 5 minutes, but nothing more than that. I can take thinner sections and go about twice for complete straight and sleek hair, but I prefer this naturally straight look.

I highly recommend this, it’s expensive but totally worth the price. You will save a lot of time and efforts in managing your hair!

P.S : You can use this only on completely dry hair! Do not use on damp/wet hair

To start with, it is the most small and handy hair straightener I have come across till date, very convenient for packing along. I love the black and pink color. The plates are not too wide, so you can only cover a smaller portion of hair part by part.

I love the fact that it heats up instantly, no waiting here at all! It heats up to 210°C and there is no heat setting here,you just plug it in and start using it. The cord is long enough and the swivel head helps you work around your hair without hassles.

The ceramic plates are safe for your hair and give a smoother result. I have almost straight hair but with wavy ends, I usually need to straighten the lower half for smooth,straight looking hair.

Now this is quite small and handy and best used for daily use, when you just want to straighten your bangs or the ends like how I use it. If you have long or curly hair and want a completely straight look,this is not the product for you as that needs wider plates and more heat.

Ignore my half makeup face, as I jump from hair to makeup to outfit when in a hurry :p

Coming to the price, it is very economical and a straightener at 1000 bucks is a boon for college goers. Also,this product is perfect for them as it can be easily carried along in their bags when they directly go partying from college 😀 Philips’ products come with a 2 year warranty, that again is a plus.

This is the ‘After Straightening’ result on me..I have used it on my lower half of the hair.

As you can see, hair is not poker straight but a lot straighter and less frizzy. I prefer the natural look it gives.

Overall I would say it is a must buy if you are in college and looking for something on a budget or need a straightener to carry with along during travels.
