Hello everyone,

Online Shopping is in full swing these days, and with the amount of discounts and sales, it also turns out to be very lucrative!

When it comes to the well-defined ‘Indian wear’, the first thing that comes to our mind while walking towards the closet is Kurti. This fashion trend never goes off and one of the best smart casual wear. In fact, Kurtis are so versatile that you can wear them for college, office, family events, day-out, party wear and literally every way you prefer.

Kurtis can be made adaptable with various styles like short or medium length, from various materials of cloth and the embroidery as well. thus, the exclusive designs, elaborate patterns, various hues and appealing shades blended with western as well as Indian styles has made Kurti so popular as a fashion trend. There are various reason to love them, different ways to pair them up and the hacks and style quotients – which we are going to elaborate in this post. Read on to know more about it.

Why women love wearing Kurti?

• The first and foremost reason is the comfort factor. Imagine wearing an exquisite outfit but it literally takes your life away because you are not comfortable in it. There things will never happen to a Kurti because they are the most comfortable outfit that it kept in your closet. When comfort and fashion is blended in an outfit – nothing can beat the beauty of it.

• Like I have mentioned before – Kurti can be worn to innumerable occasions and thus you can simply style it the way you want.

While going traditionally Indian, pair it up with bindi and bangles. For the casual look, use a choker or a simple pendant, for some layering, use a scarf and you can also add a layer of traditional jacket on top. Kurt can also be paired up with waistcoats for office and formal wear.

• Kurtis are pocket friendly. This is one of the most important reason. It is literally not possible to shell out big bucks on designer clothes every time and for casual and funky wear, opt for Kurti readily available in the marketplace. • Dhoti Style – This is one of the newest trend in Kurti where the typical Kurti is cut in a contemporary style and it is so comfortable to wear in summer and monsoon. In this pattern, the lower portion of the material is cut in drape style and flatters feminine curves so graciously. This style can be worn by all body shapes.

• Short Kurti – if you want something casual, opt for short Kurti which looks very similar to tops and tunics. This is a perfect casual wear and has a blend of Indo-western touch to it. Thus, you can pair it up with jeggings, jeans or even colored pants as well.

• Gown Length Kurti – this kind of Kurtis has a rich feel of Indian traditional look and has been worn by various celebrities on the red carpet in India and abroad. It is very similar to Anarkali ones but reaches up to the floor length. A basic leggings would suffice to complete the royal look with detailed jewelry.

• Side Slit Kurti – One of the hottest trend of 2016 is the side slit Kurti. These Kurtis are basically long and straight in cut with lengthy slit from the waist. The length of the Kurti reaches up to the knee or beyond and you have to pair it up to with an elaborate leggings or pants. They are extremely fancy and easy to carry off.

• Shirt Kurti – The Shirt Kurti is very similar to the shirt dress. The collar of the Kurti resembles of a formal shirt. This style is a fusion of Indian and western trend and a great choice for the office wardrobe. You can also accessorize it with belts and jackets.

• High Low Kurti – Just like we drool over the High-low dress, the High-low Kurti is also in great demand. In this type of Kurti, the front hem is shorter compared to the back. The style adds so much grace and elegance to the outfit and best paired with treggings, jeggings, and skinny jeans.

• Kaftan Style – There are days when we prefer ultra-casual and comfortable outfits yet wants to look pretty and sophisticated. The Kaftan inspired Kurtis are the best possible options and can be paired up with treggings, jeggings, skinny jeans and even full tight slacks. The Kurti is also worn short and long as per your choice.

The different ways to team up the Kurti –

With Leggings – This is a very common style in which we generally pair up the Kurti with a color matching or contrasting legging. Leggings are extremely comfortable to wear and are easily available as well. There are different colored leggings, printed leggings, leggings with sheer paneling, and so on to match your style.

With Boyfriend Jeans – generally boyfriend jeans are flabby and loose but super comfortable to wear. Therefore, wear a sleeveless short Kurti with a pair of boyfriend jeans for a nice casual look. This is perfect for summers as well.

With Long Skirts – Kurti can also be paired with long flowy skirts as well. We have seen a number of Bollywood celebrities pulled off such an ethnic combo of Kurti and long skirt and we love the way it turned out to be. It gives a girl-next- door look with such polish and élan.

With Accessories – Kurti can also be accessorized in various ways. To add an ethnic touch, wear a dupatta with it. For casual look, you can add a scarf around the neck. Further it can be accessorized with bangles, earrings, bracelets, belts, head chain for a bohemian look, etc. as per the style and occasion.

With Palazzos – Kurti can be paired with flared pants or palazzos as well. Tinseltown stood testimony to the launch of Mr. Prakash Padukone’s daughter opposite SRK. It was the perfect launch vehicle. Renowned star, commercial film, huge budget, exotic and fancy locales, elaborate song and dance sequences, reincarnation saga, avenging the death of the love of one’s life by battering the antagonist black and blue, a song sequence entailing almost the entire B-town and aggressive promotions… Om Shanti Om (2007) was an ideal Launchpad for the lady.

To top it all, the movie was clashing with Sanjay Leela Bhansaali’s Sawariya which starred two star kids. So, the competition had some teeth in it too. The release date arrived. The box office stated its verdict. OSO thrashed Sawariya point blank and the leading lady of the former became an overnight sensation. Despite bagging almost all the Best Female Debut awards that year, her acting skills were limited and were panned by critics for long. With time, she upped her game, took things in her stride and today, she is no longer just Prakash Padukone’s daughter. She is Deepika Padukone

With humongous commercial successes like Chennai Express, Race 2 and YJHD in her kitty and an award-winning performance in Piku, this dimpled lady has set the bar high now. With a towering frame, heart-warming smile, almond-shaped eyes, drool- worthy physique and effortless sense of style, Deepika has no doubt become a sure-shot head- turner 🙂 On that note, let’s have a look at the BEST OFF-SCREEN AVATARS OF DEEPIKA PADUKONE THAT LEFT US DROOLING.

1. IN FENDI- Looking as fresh as a daisy, Ms. Padukone attended a promotional event for Bajirao Mastani in Delhi wearing Fendi separates with Zanotti ankle-strap sandals. With her luscious locks let loose and radiant skin, this look was easy, fun, casual and trendy.

2. UNVEILING THE DEEWANI-MASTANI SONG- Swaddled in a Tarun Tahiliani long kurta skirt look with relatively simple kundan earrings in Jaipur while unveiling the ‘Deewani Mastani’ song from her then, impending movie- Bajirao Mastani, Deepika looked a million bucks as she finished out the look with a matching lip shade and chic hairdo.

3. LET’S GO BLING- For another promotional event for Bajirao Mastani, Deepika opted for a monochrome striped blouse with a gold sequined pencil skirt. A studded belt from ASOS and cage sandals rounded her look out. To top it all, her poker straight hair looked chic and upped her glam quotient by leaps and bounds.

4. A LITTLE MORE BLING NEVER HURTS- Taking the bling look ahead, Deepika donned a pair of ripped bling jeans with a casual sweatshirt for the least leg of promotions of Bajirao Mastani. With her hair tied in a ponytail and s pair of heels, she sashayed as the shutterbugs tried to get a glimpse of this leggy lass. This look is apt for parties if you wish to break free from the monotony of one-piece dresses 🙂

5. GOING CASUAL WITH TUNICS- Keeping it casual and comfy during the Pune promotional tour of Bajirao Mastani, Deepika breezed through the scorching heat in a casual light grey tunic with distressed white pants, gold-tone jewelry,a brown belt, and animal-print ballerinas. It looks comfy and would make for an ideal pick for a casual day out with friends when the Sun is leaving no stone unturned to toast you

6. WITH TRIBAL JEWELLERY- Deepika gives one major fashion goals with this ochre Mango shift dress paired with a fringed Stradivarius vest that she donned for the promotions of Tamasha. The tribal jewellery is the perfect finishing touch.

7. IN MICHAEL KORS- The leading lady of Tamasha defines the art of chic dressing as she opts for a midi-length Michael Kors dress with Steve Madden heels. Add to that, her fresh as a daisy skin tone and you are sure to be smitten, aren’t you?

They are trendy. They are chic. They are comfy. They can simply never go out of vogue given the myriad ways in which they come be it- long, short or pencil. No matter how old or young you are, there is an innate desire to swaddle oneself into one. It makes one ‘feel’ feminine and unlike most figure-hugging outfits which stick to one’s body and discomfit us especially during sweltering summers, they eliminate this woe altogether thanks to their design. Able to surmise which piece of clothing am I talking about? No? It’s none other than S-K- I-R- T-S 😀

With B-town ladies donning skirts for long in myriad designs, colours and styles, why not have a look at those ladies who nail skirts like no other? 🙂

1. DEEPIKA PADUKONE– The darling Deepika’s body can hardly not do justice to any attire. Be it figure-hugging one-piece dresses or ethnic lehengas, Deepika brings her own charm to the attire she swaddles herself in. Here Deepika is seen wearing a shift skirt by Nimish Shah and Furla heels. She wore a pinkish lip colour and chunky golden studs with the outfit. Her outfit has always been easy-breezy and this look is no different. Impeccable for summers, isn’t it?

2. KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN- The Begum of Pataudi looks drop-dead gorgeous in this attire. She has donned a Carven top and DVF pencil skirt that accentuate her curves very well. Add to that, her radiant skin and luscious locks and we have a look that is going to be aped for long.

3. PRIYANKA CHOPRA- The stunning Priyanka Chopra sets temperatures soaring with this mini leather skirt and heels paired with a checked tee as she launched the cover of a fashion magazine, which features her. Trendy and sizzling simultaneously, isn’t it?

4. JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ- This Sri Lankan beauty opted for a striped flared Giorgio Armani maxi skirt paired with white top as she promoted her then impending flick- Kick. With her hair let loose and a million dollar smile, Jacqueline stole the show.

5. GENELIA D’SOUZA- If smiles could kill, she’d be accused of a serial-killer. Inarguably the lady with those most dazzling smile in Tinseltown, Genelia looks every guy’s dream girl in this short green miniskirt that she has teamed with a tank top and jacket. Sneakers complete the look that is the epitome of freshness, innocence and cuteness 🙂 Cuteness personified, indeed!

Aishwarya & Sonam at Cannes 2016: Outfits & Makeup

Hey guys,

You all must have seen 100’s of pictures of both Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor from the Cannes Film Festival 2016. It’s the 15th year Aishwarya Rai was present at Cannes and she was there for all four days while Sonam Kapoor joined later for 2 days. Katrina Kaif was not present at Cannes this year due to her shoot commitments.

You must have seen the Infallible Range Makeup Collection launch for Cannes 2016 HERE, where I also reviewed & swatched the lip glosses.

Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya’s first look on the red carpet was a Ali Younes Couture golden gown, which she paired with smokey blue eyes and glossy nude lips. The dress was ok, the cape was not flattering and something was not right with the fit around her waist.

She wore a red ruffled gown from Naeem Khan with bold red lips.

Later she donned a Rohit Bal gold and brown ensemble for the Sarabjit screening. She paired it with smokey eyes and nude lips, like the makeup, the dress is quite ok.

The Elie Saab gown was the showstopper! Bold red lips and a winged eyeliner, soft wavy hair, she looked ethereal. The bold lips were achieved using a mix of shades from the L’Oreal Paris LA Lip Palette, I hope they launch it in India soon!

Her last look was a blush pink floral Rami Kadi bardot dress and brown smokey eyes with super bright and bold lilac lips with her hair tied slick back! While I did like the dress, I don’t like the lips at all! Pastel lilac is not her colour, she is fair with green eyes and pastel lilacs will just wash her out, a beautiful deep purple like MAC Recollection or something like that would have looked gorgeous on her!

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam’s first appearance was in Rimzim Dadu black and blue sari. She went with a blue liner, pink cheeks,fuchsia lips and a sleek low bun. I loved the earrings and harness behind! The makeup looked quite fresh and nice, I did not like the sari though, looked like vinyl :/

She later wore a flowy, white Ralph & Russo dress on the red carpet. Straight hair and gold smokey eyes with half brown half bronze liner and pinky nude lips, I guess since her gown was white, she could have gone with pink or a brighter shade. This looked good too, I liked the overall look and how it turned up.

And finally she wore another white Ralph & Russo flowy gown with a floral cape and Bulgari jewellery. A bow shaped sleek bun and bronze pink eyes with a smoked winged liner, highlighted cheeks, fluttery lashes and soft pink lips. This was my favourite look of hers in Cannes 2016.

 

At the end for the Chopard After party, she wore a gorgeous black Ralph & Russo gown with Chopard jewellery, of course. Again a sleek bun but with bronzed face and bold red lips this time. I loved this look too.

For those who are unaware of the Coachella festival, it is a music and art festival held annually in California and is one of the coolest concert to attend at the moment, every year many stars are spotted which made this festival so popular and WANTED! It has definitely increased the fashion standards ofcourse have inspired us with their fresh and unique style statement! Keep reading to know more.

1. Over accessorising is in : Over accessorising is a myth, wearing all of your wardrobe jewellery is the new trend, don’t believe me? Have a look at these moments stolen from coachella fest! I am amazed that wearing so many jewellery doesn't make them appear tacky or loud but unquestionably fashionable.

2. Vintage glasses : These sun glasses definitely reminded me of Gandhi ji’s eye glasses, it was a geeky piece or regular glasses back then, but who knew it will be on of the hottest glasses to buy at the moment. They are definitely a must have.

3. Crop tops : I am some where forced to believe that crop top was started from this fest, they look so fabulous and is now a THING in the entire world, the best part it’s comfortable as crop tops are usually loose, this is also the coolest fashion trend to follow in hot summers

4. Eyebrow art : During the 90’s in Indian weddings the bride use to apply white sticker/painted bindi over the eyebrows, I guess Bengali bride follow this ritual even today, if you love this I have a good news! You don’t need to be a bride to get that look, many people are getting that bindi look all over their eyebrows I feel it’s stolen from India’s ancient tradition, but is the new trend to follow!

5. Floral Head bands : This is one is my favourite! This look is feminine and delicate, again this is stolen from the brides, usually Christian brides are seen wearing a flowers head band or flowery hair do. In many images floral head band in paired with braids to get that bohemian look.

6. Long Cardigan with shorts : Cardigans are usually paired with jeans, wearing shorts along with a long cardigan is the new look, they make a perfect pair and definitely attract eye balls.

7. Hair chains : This is so fancy, ever since I was a child I wanted to do this! This makes me feel like I am a princess of Persia!! I really want to thank the person who came up with this very idea, this is so fashionably unique and looks so feminine, again this was traditionally used by Indian brides, usually it’s worn in silver colour and looks fabulous with women with black-brown hair. Haven’t own one? You should really consider it.

7 Denim Tricks You Cannot Afford to Miss!

1. Start With Zipper Style

The usual denims that you wear can be taken as a layout which can be structured just the way you want with your creativity. Later, take the fabric that you want to attach with the denim and stitch it up.

5. Sand and Stain Denim

Next style hack is an amazing one where you will have the ability to transform the aura of your denims. To do the stand and stain hack you are going to require a sand paper for sanding the denim, filer for scratching it and then a fabric marker for staining it. The stand and stain looks best near the hips and thigh region of jeans so it’s best to do them at its mid length. In this technique first you will have to sand the jeans with a sand paper for a while until the threads are visible and then scratch these threads with the help of a filer. Once the white inner threads of the sanded area are prominently visible then make sure of a fabric marker to stain these threads. Style Tip: Have the sand and stain area across different parts of the denim with variations in colors of the marker.

6. Crop the Denim

Bored with the same usual long pair of denim then why not crop them? Take the appropriate measurements, or the length until which you want to crop then and then go for it. During this process you can implement various designs through the art of cutting and stitching too. This means that by simply cropping an old denim you can bring it back to life but a new and refreshed look. Holi is coming up and I have so many good childhood memories attached with this festival. From prepping up previous day with balloons and pichkaris and finding all amazing colors to waking up early at 6-7 am and enjoying it with friends and family untill afternoon. It was so much fun! While the previous two years, I had my friends come over and we did have some fun with colours. But nothing beats the childhood fun, right.

Holi is all about love, joy, family time, togetherness and applying colours. Khul ke khelo Holi doesn’t mean we waste water, water conservation is an important issue currently and we should always try our best to not waste water. Holi can be played with colors and is equally fun!

Well, Volumizing sprays are actually a mist or gaseous product which when sprayed on hairs lifts the roots and gives a good amount of volume to hairs. but this increase in volume is only an illusion. There is no real volume.

I have heard a lot about these Volumizing sprays. So, one day while online browsing when i saw a brand called B-Blunt had a volumizing spray in their kitty. I decided to try it. And to cut the long story short here is the product – B-Blunt Blown away Volumizing leave in spray.

My experience with B-Blunt Blown away Volumizing leave in spray

To begin with the product impressed me with its packaging. It comes in a big but slim and stylish yellow bottle. The bottle is transparent so that you can see the amount of product left inside. The bottle has the entire product details mentioned. It has a spray like opening with a tiny tube like structure. . You need to spray it a bit so that the product comes out of the thin yellow tube.
The texture of the spray is clean foam like. It smells heavily of chemicals. When i first pressed the spray a very little product comes out. So, you need to spray the product a number of times to spread it evenly on face. Try to concentrate only on roots. The product does not wets your hair much. After spraying the product well, try to spread it with your fingers on hairs. you can see a beautiful illusion of volume. Try not to comb too neatly. This will give you a messy and voluminous look.

But sadly the volume is not long lasting. It stays only for a while. If you go to a outside wide then the volume will fly away in no time. But of course the volumizing spray makes your pouf more prominent and beautiful. Since a little product goes a long way so a single bottle will last you ages.
