I have reviewed 4 shades before HERE

I would cut short the review in a gist. Super pigmented, full opaque coverage, nice price point, lovely shades, super matte, long staying. Cons would be super drying, emphasizes chapped lips and fades from the center.

Shades Added:

·         21 Aubergine Queen – Blackened Burgundy

·         22 Mia Sangria – Purple Pink with Red Undertone

·         23 Merry Berry – Medium Dark Plum

·         24 Vivid Orchid – Medium Bright Orchid

·         25 Very Mulberry – Deep Berry with Red Tones

·         26 Rose Repose – Peach Pink Rose

·         27 Brown Crown – Blackened Plum Brown

·         28 Trusty Rusty – Rust Red

·         29 Scarlet Starlet – Red with orange tone

·         30 Peony Genie – Medium Pink

Here are the swatches..

L-R: 21 to 25
L-R: 26 to 30

The formula is the same, very watery and runny but full of pigment. Except shade 27 Brown Crown, it is creamy/metallic with shimmer.

I find 23 and 24 a little patchy, rest all shades are amazing with beautiful pigmentation and go opaque in a single coat.

My favourites are 21, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 30. Let me know your favourites in the comments below 🙂

Inti-Matte Nude lipstick features warm, golden pigments that enrich your natural lip color. Pucker up to radiant, confident color that highlights one’s natural beauty with this amazing offering!

  • Creamiest matte nude lipsticks.
  • Features warm, golden pigments to enhance natural lips.

  • Chilli Nude

  • Pretty Please
  • Smitten

  • Raw Cocoa
  • Almond Pink
  • Honey Cherry
  • Rosewood Red

These inti-matte nude lipsticks are launched in their Powder Matte category. The packaging is same as other Colorsensational lipsticks, just this has transparent brown cap.

The finish is velvet matte, these glide on easily and are quite pigmented and super comfortable on the lips. They are not transfer proof though.

I love both the lipsticks Almond Rose and Raw Cocoa, also recommend Toasted Brown. I love the finish and feel of Maybelline powder matte lipsticks, and the shades in this Inti-Matte Nudes collection are to die for!

City Mini Palettes

Claims: Master your own NYC moment with a collection of perfectly curated eyeshadow shades. The City Mini Palette features six dramatic shades that are perfect for creating custom eye makeup looks. From Graffiti Pop and Concrete Runway to Rooftop Bronzes and Chill Brunch Neutrals, make a lasting impression with Maybelline’s six-shade mini eyeshadow palette.

  • Perfectly curated 6 color eye shadow palette.
  • Pure color pigments melt onto the eyelid for dramatic impact in a single sweep.
  • Super-saturated color pigments that deliver long-lasting finish.
  • Create your own amped-up look in an instant.

I picked the Rooftop Bronzes palette, it definitely needed 1-2 matte shades, all the shades are satin/shimmer finish. The pigmentation is amazing though, and they glide on like butter. It’s a tiny and handy palette but matte shades would have completed the palette well. Still nonetheless it’s a very good palette and good for both day time and night time use.

It has a mix of bronze brown, medium brown, purple black, shimmery gold, peachy pink and shimmery white gold.

City Mini Palettes are at 20% off on Nykaa right now!

I found the price of 750 expensive, but at 600 currently, I definitely recommend it! The lipsticks are amazing and you should surely get 1-2 shades. All 10 shades are perfect for Indian skin tones unlike the previous Gigi Hadid collection.

Did you get anything from this new launch? Let me know in the comments below.

Sugar Ace of Face Foundation Sticks Review, Swatches, Demo, Wear Test

Hi guys,

Sugar Cosmetics has launched their new Ace of Face Foundation Sticks today. I have two shades with me and I have done a quick review, swatch and wear test video.

Claims: Make dreamy skin a reality in one simple step with the SUGAR Ace Of Face Foundation Stick. Lightweight, creamy and beyond easy to blend, its long-wearing formula offers coverage that not just looks but also feels like second skin. This handy stick blurs away enlarged pores, fine lines, dark circles, blemishes and more… so there’s really no excuse left for you to flaunt anything less than picture-perfect skin. Get ready to make a permanent place in your makeup bag for this magic wonder and score sheer-to-full coverage without looking cakey every single time!

How to Apply: Designed to be applied on the go, cut short your routine and pop this in to your everyday handbag. Stripe it on your T-zone, underneath your eyes, your chin and follow up by blending it outward with the built-in brush. Apply directly from the stick onto your complexion and build coverage as needed. The luxurious brush-end is specially handy for buffing the product out and touching up uneven spots. Use it all over to even out your complexion or use it as a touch-up tool by applying a dab or two to problem areas.

Benefits: A little goes a long way with this foundation stick – thanks to its unusually high pigmentation. The full-coverage, waterproof formula offers a totally matte finish that lasts for up to 12 hours. Weightless when applied, the handy built-in brush makes it uber-easy to blend the product in or touch-up spots. • 03 Chococcino
  • 04 Breve
  • 05 Mocha
  • 06 Lungo

All Sugar Cosmetics Review & Swatches HERE

To start with the packaging, this has to be the most convenient packaging in a foundation, it comes with a built in buffing brush! You can literally use it on the go. Carry in your bag for after office parties, if you don’t wear foundation on a daily basis or just travel with this one foundation. No need to carry a separate foundation brush, concealer brush or beauty blender. The brush is really dense and nice and blends everything really well. I wish it was a little longer though, but yes cleaning and drying is definitely required. I hope the bristles don’t come off post washing, I will update you guys on that.

The packaging overall is also quite sturdy and not flimsy. Nykaa stick foundation packaging was very flimsy and felt like the whole foundation part would come off.

Texture wise, it is super creamy and highly pigmented. You need very little qty, and this 12g would last you really long! I didn’t know it was this pigmented or I would have used half. But I literally just touched the stick on my face.

It even fills in the pores and makes skin look super smooth. It feels very comfortable and light weight on the skin.

I would recommend applying a bit and blending it first and then adding on areas which you feel need little more coverage, coz a little goes a long way with this.

Hourglass stick foundation is 7g and this is 12g, I really like the quantity. It is made in Korea and the quality is definitely very good. The shade range is good too, they do cover light and deep skin tones, they can add 2 more though.

The finish is semi matte and it gives a soft, dewy look. You can powder your face on some areas if you have dry skin, oily skin will definitely need to powder.

I wore it for 7+ hours without any powder touch up and it lasted pretty well. It did crease below eyes and faded a little on the corners of nose and on smile lines, but that is with pretty much any foundation, if you don’t touch up 7 hours.

The shade 02 Galao is described as light medium shade with golden undertone and 03 Chococcino is described as a medium shade with warm undertone.

I use Galao on the centre part of face and Chococcino on the outer perimeters of face, jawline and neck. The combination of both shades works pretty well for me, though 03 alone works too with a separate highlighting concealer under eyes.

Overall, I would say I absolutely love this stick foundation and highly recommend it! The only base I am carrying for my next travel for sure 😀

Have you ordered the Sugar Ace of Face Foundation yet? Let me know your thoughts, when you try it.

Veet Sensitive Touch Expert Beauty Trimmer Review

Veet Sensitive Touch Expert Beauty Trimmer Review

Hi guys,

I am sure you have heard about this Veet Sensitive Touch Expert Beauty Trimmer, but this is the new version with adjustable head and can be used both wet and dry.

Claims:

  • Gentle hair removal and precise shaping for your delicate body parts, ideal for upper lip, side burns and eyebrows
  • Waterproof: Can be used in shower
  • Quick and Gentle: Easily remove any unwanted hair in one go
  • High Precision: Adjustable eyebrow head and dedicated accessories to get precise shaping and styling
  • Ideal also for quick touch-ups wherever you go
  • Wide Range of Accessories: precision head, bikini head, comb, beauty cap, cleaning brush, beauty pouch and AA battery

MRP: Rs.2499/- ( Get it for Rs.1999/- on Amazon HERE)

Directions to use: The Veet Sensitive Touch Expert Beauty Trimmer is specially tailored for sensitive body parts such as upper lip, side burns and eyebrows. Precise and easy to handle, it removes hair gently while its cutting blade has no direct contact with the skin, so no fear of cuts. And as it is compact and elegant, you can put it in your handbag for quick touch-ups, anywhere, anytime. The Veet Sensitive Touch Expert Beauty Trimmer is waterproof, hence can be used in shower.

For perfect looking eyebrows, step 1 is trim. For desired eyebrow length just trim them. Use the small head and add the comb. Place the device over your eyebrow and move it against the direction of hair growth.

For perfect looking eyebrows, step 2 is shape. For a perfect eyebrow contouring, remove the comb and use the high precision head. Touch skin lightly and push it across the eyebrow.

For gently shaved or shaped bikini use the larger head. Touch skin lightly and move the device to the opposite direction of hair growth.

For trimming, add the comb and choose the desired length.

My Experience

The 2mm and 4mm blades adjustable head gives perfect precision to do your eyebrows. I like my eyebrows thicker and I only get rid of the extras outside the line. The small 2mm blade helps me with the lower part and the 4mm blade on the top part.

If you have thick and bushy eyebrows, add the comb attachment and go over the eyebrows. It will trim the longer hair that is sticking out and make all the eyebrow hair even and uniform in length.

It works great for upper lips, side burns, chin, etc. The best part is, you don’t feel anything at all. It is painless, which is a different experience when it comes to eyebrows. Because we have all had tears in our eyes with the painful threading! Yes, the hair does grow back quicker, so maybe you need to do this once a week, rather than the usual 15 days you do threading. Still it is much better, pain wise. Also the skin gets pulled when the hair is pulled with the thread, where as with this, there is no tugging and pulling of skin.

It is quite handy and can fit in your handbag. You just need a single battery and can use it anywhere, even while travelling. No need of electricity!

Coming to the 20mm blade, it is perfect for your sensitive areas like underarms and bikini line. You can either directly use the blade for a gentle shave, or use the 2mm/4mm comb with it for just a trim.

It comes with a cleaning brush and AA battery. The first battery will last you really long. The device comes with a 2 year warranty along with the blades, so you can get it replaced anytime you face a problem within 2 years.

I think it’s great for the price! You can also use it on your hands and legs too. If you are travelling for a 10-15 day trip, then this is all you will need to carry!

And of course, it’s perfect for everyday use too. No need of salon visits for your eyebrows and upper lips now, also the constant fear of the salon lady threading your eyebrows too thin.

I highly recommend getting the Veet Sensitive Touch Expert Beauty Trimmer.

Have you tried it yet?

How to Use Hydrogen Peroxide for Treating Acne

How to Use Hydrogen Peroxide for Treating Acne

By Sanchita

Acne and severe breakouts are worrisome. You have to make sure that the acne stops reoccurring time and again and also have to do something about the scars and blemishes thereafter. There are numerous home remedies, drugstore and various other products available in the market that claims to work on acne but finding that efficient one that will work on your skin is surely a gruesome task.

In today’s post, we are going to elaborate how hydrogen peroxide is used for treating acne. Also, keep in mind the side effects if you are using it in the wrong method.

WHY DO WE USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE FOR TREATING ACNE?

Hydrogen Peroxide is mild bleach that work wonders for acne prone skin. If you are suffering from severe acne situation, this is the solution. It is anti-bacterial in nature and thus helps to kills the bacteria that cause acne and pimples. As we are all aware of the fact that acne is caused when your skin produces excess sebum, Hydrogen Peroxide works as a drying agent on the skin. It soaks up the excess oil from the skin and helps the pimples to dry out quickly.

Hydrogen peroxide loses its extra oxygen atom when applied to the skin. It takes an oxidization process which helps to create unfavourable bacterial environment, thereby stop the growth of bacteria and prevents acne. It is also helpful in peeling of the skin whereby the dead skin cells are exfoliated, revealing newer and healthier skin.

THE RIGHT CONCENTRATION OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE FOR SKIN

Hydrogen Peroxide is also found in various cosmetic products. As we have mentioned before that Hydrogen Peroxide is a chemical and it may harm the skin if you are using it wrong. The most important aspect is to but the right percentage of the product. One must never use Hydrogen Peroxide of more than 3% concentration on the skin. If you have bought more than that, make sure you add up adequate amount of water to it to bring down the concentration to 3%.

HOW TO USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE FOR TREATING ACNE

1) To start the procedure, take off every layer of makeup or any other skin care products from the skin and wash off with a very mild cleanser. Make sure you massage the skin in circular motion with a cleanser to increase the blood circulation.

2) Next, you have to steam the face. This step is not needed for sensitive skin though. Take the steam from the boiling water (maintaining the right distance from the water container) and don’t steam the face for more than 5-6 mins. Do not pat dry the face post steaming.

3) Once the steaming is done, rub an ice cubes or splash the face with cold water to close the pores.

4) Take  hydrogen peroxide (not more than 3% concentration) and a clean and sterilized cotton swab. Dip the cotton swab in hydrogen peroxide and apply onto the affected acne areas. You may feel a slight tingling sensation. Once done, do not touch or wash the skin for some time to let the solution get absorbed naturally.

5) After 4-5 mins when the hydrogen peroxide has been absorbed by the skin, apply an oil free light moisturizer. Make sure that the light moisturizer is non-comedogenic and non-greasy.

SIDE EFFECTS AND CAUTION

  • If you have sensitive skin, consult your doctor before applying Hydrogen peroxide
  • The drying effect of hydrogen peroxide can be severe on the skin so be careful when you use and make sure you apply the right amount.
  • You cannot use this too often, it will dry out the skin.
  • The concentration should never exceed more than 3%.
  • If you experience severe itching, burning sensation, redness etc. then it is advised to stop the treatment right away.
  • Do not use hydrogen peroxide near your eyes.

Will you try using hydrogen peroxide for treating acne?

SpectraBan Sunscreen [STIEFEL] for Sensitive Skin SPF 30 Review

SpectraBan Sunscreen [STIEFEL] for Sensitive Skin SPF 30 Review

By Linda

Hello Ladies,

Today I’m presenting an essential product that has become a necessity, in fact a must in my CTM routine. The product I’m talking about is a sunscreen cream known as SpectraBan Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin SPF 30 [a product by STIEFEL]. Let me brief you up as to how I got to know about this product. My skin is supersensitive and often I suffer from eczema (a skin condition) during fluctuating weathers. I live in the middle-east, where the weathers conditions are from extreme summers and to chilly winter. During summers, even after sunset the temperatures are up to 39 -41 degrees. I did not realize that such weather conditions would affect me skin. My dermatologist suggested using this sunscreen along with other body lotions and hydrocortisone creams. He also insisted me to use this cream throughout the day. Believe me I had excellent results from this product. It was a complete life saver for me. Let’s get into the details of this product.

Product Claims:

• Sunscreen For Sensitive Skin ANTI-UVA & UVB – SPF 30, PA++
• Broad spectrum UV protection
• Double moisturizing factors
• Non-comedogenic
• Hypoallergenic
• Water resistant

Ingredients:

Packaging and Texture

This product is dispensed in a plastic tube packaging. Travel friendly size. Various sizes are available. The product is fragrance free. Spreads smoothly over the skin on application and absorbed into the skin in seconds. The texture is not thick enough like other creams and not too runny like lotions.

Cost: 260 /-INR for 30gms

My take on SpectraBan Sunscreen [STIEFEL] for Sensitive Skin SPF 30:

I always begin with moisturizing my skin well, wait for few seconds for the moisturizer to seep in and then the dot my face, neck and other exposed areas with this sunscreen and gently massage it. I noticed it did not grease my skin at all and did not form a white cast over my skin that normally tends to happen with other sunscreen creams. My dermatologist instructed to go outdoors 20 minutes after application of sunscreen.

The cream is so soft and smooth over the skin that most of the time that I skip the step of a moisturizer. I have also applied this sunscreen while I go for swimming, believe me I had no tan at all, maybe it really worked for my skin. I have also used this sunscreen below foundation and this did not grease for atleast good 2-3 hours outdoors, in spite of layering several products. But later it does turn out to be greasy depending on the quality of your foundation.
So this was my experience with this product, I hope you all try it and let me know how it worked for you all.

Pros:

  • Budget friendly
  • Water resistant (can be used while swimming)
  • Can be used on sensitive skin
  • Fragrance free
  • No skin irritations
  • Travel friendly
  • Available in various sizes

Cons:

  • Can’t find of any

Rating: 5/5

Would I recommend SpectraBan Sunscreen [STIEFEL] for Sensitive Skin SPF 30 ? Definitely Yes!!! For super sensitive skin it is a good product.

Editor’s Note: Wow, this sounds amazing Linda. Especially for swimmers, and so affordable. I will surely check this out.

Have you tried SpectraBan Sunscreen?

Maybelline India Gigi Hadid Collection Review, Swatches

Maybelline India Gigi Hadid Collection Review, Swatches

Hi guys,

Maybelline has launched the Gigi Hadid Collection in India finally, there are still palettes pending which would be coming in next month.

Currently they have launched two shades of Eyebrow Pencils, Liquid Liner, Gel Liner, Fibre Mascara and 6 lipsticks. I love the matte blush pink packaging of the entire range. The lipsticks come with Gigi’s name and autograph on them.

Let’s get on to the review and swatches..

Starting with the liquid liner,

Liquid Liner: Rs.499/- for 0.5g (Buy HERE)

It’s a fine, brush tip pen eyeliner. The tip is not felt tip and very soft and bendy like a brush. You can draw fine lines with it and it’s pretty smooth. It’s not the blackest black but you can layer it up 1-2 times. It stays put for 6-7 hours and does not smudge or transfer, however it is not completely water proof and comes off easily with a regular cleanser.

Coming to the gel liner,

Gel Liner: Rs.350/- for 0.1g (Buy HERE)

I feel the quantity of 0.1g is way too less. The tip part of my liner broke while I was swatching, so I pretty much lost 25% of it. The gel liner is very smooth and buttery, it’s not like a kajal but more like a gel pencil. But it works well as a kajal too and doesn’t smudge as much as a kajal. If you are looking for a smooth kajal pencil which doesn’t smudge much, you can give this a try.

The eyebrow pencils which are my favourite from this collection,

Eyebrow Pencil: Rs.550/- (Buy HERE)

They have launched two shades, Brown and Dark Brown. Both are pretty good for Indian skin tones. Once you get a perfect match with colour, it is half the battle won, as majority including high end brands have reddish undertones which makes your eyebrows look really bad!

I use the Dark Brown shade, you can also use both to give a more natural effect with Medium Brown at the front part of eyebrows. If you have coloured hair, go for Brown.

Gel Liner, Liquid Liner, Eyebrow Pencil Dark Brown, Brown

The texture is really nice, it’s waxy and not creamy. It’s not too pigmented and hence doesn’t deposit too much colour on one area. It stays put well through the day, I love the angled tip and I highly recommend getting the eyebrow pencils. They are even better than Maybelline Fashion Brow. I only wish it came with a spoolie, coz you will need to use a separate spoolie to brush out the colour for a more natural look.

The fibre mascara which everyone is excited about,

Fibre Mascara: Rs.699/- (Buy HERE)

It’s a dual sided mascara with 0.5g fibres on one end and 0.5ml mascara on the other. The fibres are super fine and airy, they fly off everywhere, so be careful with this or you might end up with fibres inside your eye which isn’t safe! The Body Shop has launched a fibre mascara with Jacqueline, see the video HERE and the fibres in that aren’t so fine, they stay put on the eyes even without the first mascara layer. For this, you have to first apply the mascara, then go with the fibres on top of it while the mascara is still wet and then top with another layer of mascara.

I know it’s a little bit of work but the results are pretty good. If you already have mascaras which you feel give better results, then you may skip this.

The mascara wand lengthens the lashes and the fibres add volume, so it works both ways and gives pretty good results. Also it’s a good dupe for The Body Shop one which is double the price.

Finally, the 6 lipsticks..

Lipsticks: Rs.550/- for 3.9g (Buy HERE)

The packaging, as I mentioned is really nice. There are two nudes, one taupe purple and 3 reds in the collection. These are described as matte but they are not at all matte, I would say they are creamy. Especially the two nudes, they are creamier than the rest of the shades too. They stay for 3-4 hours and fade evenly with eating or drinking. But these do transfer on your teeth, cups, glasses, everywhere. They are of course super comfortable and easy to reapply.

McCall is a super light nude, good for very fair/pale skin. Not for Indian skin tones for sure, it will wash out most skin tones.

Taura is a peachy nude meant for Indian fair/medium skin tones. For someone like me, I would need a deeper lip liner underneath and can pair it with heavy smokey eyes.

Erin is my favourite from the collection. It’s a taupe purple with grey undertones. It’s a very unique shade and I highly recommend getting this, since it’s a LE collecion.

Austyn is my favourite red of the three, also the most vibrant. It’s a cool toned red which makes your teeth look white and will work for all skin tones.

Khair is a warm toned apple red

Lani is a coral/orangey red.

McCall, Taura, Erin, Austyn, Khair, Lani

All three reds and Erin will work across all skin tones. I recommend Erin and Austyn from this range and Taura if you are fair to medium.

So, what do you think of the collection? I am looking forward to trying the palettes. Do let me know in the comments below.

My Current Haircare Regime

My Current Haircare Regime

Hi guys,

I get this question asked a lot, which shampoo and conditioner do you use or what’s your haircare routine. Well it keeps on changing, I don’t stick to one shampoo or conditioner.

Currently I have been using and loving this range from BBLUNT.

I use the BBLUNT Perfect Balance Shampoo which is meant for normal to dry hair.

Claims: This pick-me-up for your hair gives it great moisture balance. Its unique formula gives you perfectly cleansed, healthy hair. An everyday fix made simple.

Specially created for Indian hair with a unique colour protect formula.

MRP: Rs.600/- for 400ml (Buy HERE)

How to use: First, thoroughly wet your hair. Then take one pump or more depending on hair length. Spread it evenly throughout your hair by massaging the scalp with gentle circular motions. Rinse out thoroughly and repeat if necessary.

It has glycerin and pro-vitamin B5. It’s very gentle and nourishing, and perfect for everyday use if you shampoo your hair everyday. This won’t dry out your hair, yet cleanse the scalp well. It foams well and gets rid of all dirt, sweat and grime, without stripping hair’s natural oils.

Coming to the Conditioner, I use the BBLUNT Intense Moisture Conditioner because of my drier ends.

Claims: This moisture-rich conditioner makes out-of-control hair manageable. It smoothens, softens & adds shine. Show your hair some love.

MRP: Rs.400/- for 200g (Buy HERE)

How to use: Make sure to remove excess water after shampooing. Apply the conditioner evenly to lengths and ends, avoiding the scalp. Leave it on for at least 3 minutes and then rinse thoroughly. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately

It has Jojoba oil, Vitamin E, Hydrolyzed Keratin & Wheat Germ Oil. It adds back moisture to the hair and even if you have colour treated/dry/damaged hair, this will hydrate the ends and give a nice sheen. I have highlights towards the bottom and I do need a rich conditioner like this.

Always make sure you squeeze out all the excess water before applying the conditioner. I have fine hair and even though this conditioner is rich in texture, it does not weigh down my hair.

And finally to finish, I use the BBLUNT Intense Moisture Hair Serum which is one of their new launches.

Claims: This serum provides an extra boost of nourishment and gloss to dry hair. Thick and rebellious hair is smooth, manageable and well-nourished.

How to use: Take a coin size amount into your palms and apply it evenly, focusing on mid-lengths & ends. The amount may vary depending on hair length. Works best on damp, towel dried hair. Style as desired.

MRP: Rs.500/- (Buy HERE)

It has avocado extracts, jojoba oil, argan oil and Vitamin E. It doesn’t contain mineral oil which forms majority content in most of the leave-in serums including some high end ones. It’s like an oil but it is non-sticky and reduces frizz instantly!

Use a serum on an everyday basis, even if you haven’t washed your hair. It acts as a sunscreen for your hair and forms a barrier against sun damage and free radicals. A glossy shine and frizz control are added benefits 🙂 It also works as a heat protectant.

I am loving these three products currently, I usually air dry my hair and don’t use much heat. This combination does not weigh down my fine hair and hydrates the ends well plus the serum gives a nice shine.

Have you tried these BBLUNT products?
