While plethora of options available for women when it comes to wedding guest outfits or attires, there are only handful of them available for men. One of the reasons is that men tends to stick to the tried and tested formals or traditional wear for ages but recently, there are various ethnic outfit inspirations have come up for the wedding guest outfits or attires for men. Choosing a Indian wedding outfit for the bride or groom’s brother can be slightly difficult. One has to choose the attire cautiously which should not overshadow the outfit of the groom but it should be unique and stylish enough. I have enlisted below the various choices for the Indian Wedding Outfits for Men (especially The Bride’s/Groom’s Brother) which ranges from classic suit to experimental polo pants. Let u have a look at the list.

1. Classic Suit look –

Nothing beats the classic! A well tailored suit for the handsome brother of the bride and groom is seriously unmatchable. If the wedding is a morning occasion, try the soothing colors like sky blue and white with perfectly gelled hair. For the night occasion, one can opt for black textured satin, perhaps, with a shawl collar and flapless pockets.

2. Bandhgala Semi-formal Suit –

One of the newest and catchy trends for the wedding attire for men is the – Bandhgala Suit. It is a classic combo of westerns and traditional attire and also help the man attain that look with ease. You can choose any luxurious fabric with the embellishment of your choice or even go for sleek black one. It goes great with the traditional and festive atmosphere at the Indian wedding.

3. Sherwani

Sherwani is probably the easiest pick for the Bride’s/Groom’s Brother. If you are absolutely short on time or you don’t want to experiment at all, this is the best option to choose from. There are various designs of sherwani available for men in the Indian market. One can surely look super stylish by accessorizing the outfit. You can add a turban with dupatta, belts, embellishment or even jewellery or multi-string pearl neckpiece. This will definitely add a royal touch.

4. Nehru Jacket

Nehru jackets with kurtas have become one of the hottest trends for men. This wedding outfit can be easily customized for day or night occasions and one can experiment with fresh and bright colours. You can also opt for various textures, patterns and fabrics. We have seen Bollywood celebrities like Saif Ali Khan, Siddharth Malhotra, etc sporting the Nehru jackets look with such posh and glamour.

5. Kurta Payjama

Kurta Payjama is not new as men’s wedding attire but various cuts, pattern, fabrics have revived the fashion for men. You can opt for dupatta or turban to complete the look. One can choose the fabric and color as per the day or evening wedding.

6. Floral jackets

Who said that floral jackets are only for women? Men can rock the floral jacket look for any wedding occasion. While choosing the floral jacket, keep the length in mind and also the kurta below must be simple. In this way, the embellishments will be nicely balanced and give a stylish look to the brother of bride of bridegroom.

7. Palazzo with Sherwani

Women are well aware of the ‘palazzo’ outfit but do you know that the men can rock it too for traditional occasions? This is surely a sensational wedding outfit for men and you can mix and match the wear as you like. The palazzo can be teamed up with heavily embellished jacket or kurta on top.

8. Polo pants

Polo pants and bandgala is another classy, stylish and trendy look for men’s wedding attire. In facts, back in the day many rajas and maharajas used to wear polo pants for hunting and other royal occasions. Team up the slightly flared polo pants with a well-fitted or tailored jacket or coat on top. The look is extremely elegant and stylish.

9. Royal Look

I drooled on this look worn by the charming Fawad Khan who walked for Manish Malhotra for the collection inspired by the fabled land of Persia. This look is absolutely resplendent with a long, flowing bandhgala frock-kurta that has every bit of glamour and grandeur, it was paired with a maroon wrapped tunic.

10. Dhoti Pants

Dhoti is one of the most worn traditional Indian wear for men but it’s difficult to carry. Well, we have a solution! The dhoti pants with the flare of dhoti gives you the perfect illusion and can be easily and stylishly paired with bandhgala, kurta, sherwani or Nehru jacket for any wedding occasion.

Types of Anarkalis & Choosing Anarkali for your Body Type

When it comes to Indian wear, anarkalis have been back in fashion since the past 5-6 years and they are still in trend, I don’t think that trend is going anywhere. Simply because they are super comfortable and easy to wear for weddings, etc. too. Anarkali is the only outfit which is traditional Indian wear and yet very comfortable to wear and roam around in 😀 When you get best of both worlds, stick to it.

Today I am talking about different types of anarkalis and how to choose one according to your body type.

1. Cotton Anarkali

These are the most simple and basic kinds, which you can wear to work or a light function. Comfortable yet traditional and very light. There are many options of anarkali suits online by BIBA and on Myntra, Jabong, etc.

2. Silk Anarkali

Silk ones can be a little heavier or lighter depending on the embellishments on it, but certainly expensive. You can go for the lighter silk ones for a daytime function and the heavier ones for some big function or wedding.

3. Asymmetric Anarkali

Asymmetric Anarkalis are quite in trend and look chic too. These again can be in lighter cotton ones or heavier silk or bridal ones. I love how it is shorter in the front and slightly longer behind, this would work on short girls too. I know how it is difficult to find a anarkali when you are short. Been there :/

4. Layered Anarkali

Again just like the asymmetric ones, layered ones are also pretty IN and I absolutely love them. They give a jacket kind of look or 2-3 layers which are shorter and keep on increasing in length. Currently the mesh capes are quite in trend and would look good over an anarkali too.

5. Bridal Anarkali

Now this is something very heavy, Sikh brides usually wear a suit or anarkali during their Anand Karaj. They can opt for a super heavy embellished anarkali. Also if you want to wear one for your mehendi or sangeet, the bridal ones are perfect.

Choosing an Anarkali according to body type

Inverted Triangle- If you have an inverted triangle body type i.e top heavy with broad shoulders, avoid boat necks, high neck collars or bulky shoulder patterns as that will bring more attention towards the broad shoulders.

Hourglass- Well if you have an hourglass figure, all anarkalis will look fabulous on you. Just make sure it accentuates your waist well and the flare starts below the waist.

Apple shaped- If you are apple shapes, wear empire line silhouettes in anarkalis which means the flare starting just below your waist which will help you hide your core problem area.

Pear shaped- If you have a well defined waist, then you can go for anarkalis starting below the waist and the flare will hide your lower problem area or else again empire line will work the best.

Short, petite girls- If you are short or petite, go for shorter kurtas with less flare as you don’t want the anarkali to look like a gown and neither like you wearing a tent.

If you are tall, anarkalis are made for you! You can wear them anytime, anywhere 😀

Indian Festive Diwali Makeup & Outfit

Hi guys,

I wanted to do a video for Karwachauth look but couldn’t coz of time, but I am right on time for the Diwali makeup look. I am wearing this bright orange and pink anarkali with dull gold zari work on it. I wanted to keep my eyes neutral and hence went with dull gold for the eyes and bright fuchsia lips.

I paired the look with gold and pearl dangling earrings and this orange bindi. I quite like how the look turned out, totally me.
