NATASHA NISCHOL CONDUCTED THE LAKME ABSOLUTE ILLUSION MAKEUP MASTER CLASS AT LAKME FASHION WEEK SUMMER/RESORT 2014
I attended Lakme Fashion Week on Saturday..i.e the 15th..if you follow me on facebook or Instagram, you would have seen the pics..
So anyways, there was this Lakme Absolute Masterclass too..remember last year’s Masterclass..see HERE.
Lakme a trendsetter for decades has created several outstanding looks each season. An informative makeup masterclass was conducted by Lakme Makeup Expert, Natasha Nischol at the Jabong Stage on day four during Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014.
Purnima Lamba, Head Innovation at Lakme, introduced Natasha Nischol on stage and invited her to demonstrate the second edition of Lakme Absolute Master Class themed around Lakme’s latest offering the Lakme Absolute Illusion range. Natasha revealed how to achieve the Lakme Absolute Illusion Metallic Look that is all set to be the beauty trend of the season.
VJ Sarah Jane Dias, Lakme Digital Ambassador was the model for the session. During this one hour session, Natasha Nischol demonstrated the Absolute Illusion Day and Night looks on Sarah Jane Dias.
Lakme Absolute Illusion – Day to Night
For the Lakme Absolute Illusion by Day look, a base of Lakme Youth Infinity Moisturizer, Foundation and Concealer was applied to Sarah’s face prior to the show. Sarah’s hair was also prepped up according to the 70’s vibe – big and curly. A bronzer from the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist range was used for the cheekbones, followed by blending the eyes with the Lakme Absolute Illusion Pearl Eyeshadow, which Natasha insisted could be used in light or heavy portions. A streak of black eyeliner was applied to infuse the colour of the shimmery eye shadow, to give it an electric feel. Dots of electric violet and blue from the Lakme Absolute Eye Shadow Duos were added on top of the eyeliner and to the inner corner of the eye, adding dimension.

Sarah’s eyelashes were curled using the Lakme Absolute Voluminizing Mascara. Sarah confessed that she loved flaunting fake eyelashes, which she found very dramatic.
Natasha finished this Absolute Illusion day look by dabbing the lips in a matte orange lipstick (I guess it was Vermillion) from the Lakme 9to5 range. Sarah walked down the ramp flaunting her bold avatar, swaying to the Bee Gees. Natasha mentioned that ‘Saffron Gossip’ from the same range is a lighter hue of orange lipstick that is safe to play with.
Sarah expressed that she faced a problem with metallic eye shadow fading off an hour after applying it. Natasha explained that the secret to long lasting makeup is to layer and blend in eye shadow with cream and powder so that it sets through the day. Natasha suggested that women should go all out and experiment with purple, blue and aquamarine that look gorgeous on Indian women.

The Lakme Absolute Illusion by Night was achieved by adding touch-ups to the day look and blending in purple Lakme Absolute Drama Stylist Crayon Eyeshadow followed by building in the intensity of the eye shadow with a slightly darken tone. Another line of eyeliner which smudged easily into the purple canvas brought a little sparkle in a pink glitter shadow over the inner corner of the eyes. Sarah’s lips were dabbed in a soft coral called ‘Rust Crush’. The look was completed by applying a coat of mascara and brushing the face with some glitter over the cheekbones in a decent amount of bronze blush – Lakme Absolute Blush, Night Sheen.
Natasha mentioned that all girls love their glitter and one can never have too much of it. Sarah Jane revealed the secret of big hairdos by simply making multiple tiny braids on wet hair and leaving it overnight, untie each braid, a dab of mousse for the 70’s look.
