Steps:

Coming back to my review, I tried the app on myself of course :p

Here I have tried the foundation and the concealer, the concealer looks a little yellow. So, the brightness of the pic, the phone,the camera are certain factors that we will need to keep in mind and that varies a lot on different images.

My phone is usually the brightest, so I had to tone down the intensity of colored makeup products. Also, the way you set your eyes and lips will not be 100% accurate, so do not be frightened if you look like a clown in between 😀 Just re-adjust the eyes and lips to as close as you can, and tone down the intensity of the blush,eyeshadows and lipsticks.

I tried the peach blush, eyeshadow and lipstick here..

You can try and check the ‘Before’ and ‘After’ which will come up half and half on your face,save it, share it. Check the list of products used and either take a note of shades or buy directly on the app.

There are a lot of new ‘Pro Stylist’ Looks and many of Shraddha Kapoor’s new looks from ABCD and a few of Kareena Kapoor’ s looks from new collection launches at LFW, so if you want need a particular shade which Kareena or Shraddha wore, just check the makeup breakdown, maybe try the particular shade on yourself and click ‘Buy’ and get it delivered at your home! Life was never that simple, right? 😀

I think this app is a must try, atleast you can experiment a lot of different looks and shades on yourself and check what shades look good on you.

I am reviewing the shade Pink Caress and Tangerine Lush today. The packaging is same as the Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Lipsticks, silver body  with a transparent cap.

It is sturdy and travel friendly, while I was swatching the lipsticks, I thought maybe the lipstick bullet may come off since I was going over it quite a few times, but it is sturdy enough and stayed put 😀

It has a slight sweet artificial smell which I did not like, but it goes away in a minute or two, and does not hamper.

Coming to the finish and texture, I would say I LOVE it! Perfect matte finish,goes on smooth, does not dry out the lips and feels very very light on the lips.

Only thing is you need to swipe 2-3 times to get the perfect opaque coverage. It stays on for 6-7 hours with minimal fading and survives tea and light snacks. It is not completely transfer proof, but I guess that’s ok.

L-Pink Caress, R- Tangerine Lush

While the Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Lipsticks were priced at Rs.800, I feel these are amazing comparatively at Rs.700. And with the quality these come with, I don’t mind the price at all since most of the new launches currently have been priced quite high by all the brands. (You know what I am talking about :D)

Up-Pink Caress, Down- Tangerine Lush

It is not as bright as it appears in the tube and swatches a bit different..both the shades are candy like and pretty young and vibrant

L-Pink Caress, R- Tangerine Lush

Pink Caress is a beautiful matte candy pink. My favourite of the two

Tangerine Lush is a medium orange,not to bright or neon or in your face. Quite wearable

Overall, I would say these are quite fabulous and I am in love with them! My current new love <3 Highly recommended!

The Mumbai Bride Diaries: Bride in the Making Pics

Hey guys,

Remember I had announced in my previous post that Cory Walia is my Bridal MUA who is a part of Lakme Absolute Bridal Dream Team.

Let me tell you I was very nervous. I thought he would be very moody types or something but I was so so wrong. He was very very sweet and warm. A very down to earth and jovial person. We both are Sagittarians :p We chatted a lot and he made me feel quite comfortable.

Starting with the goof ups, he and his team members Poonam and Priya already reached the venue at 9am even before we reached :/ And I still had to sit for the pre wedding mandva puja which took another 40 minutes or so. We had ample time to get ready so that was not an issue, but still I did not want to make him wait. He was very calm though and had his breakfast peacefully.

Later on when we started with the makeup, my jewellery box went missing. I was going nuts :/ My friends and family took rounds to home to check while all the time it was in the same bag right in front of us and no one could find it :/ Yes, all this usually happens on the day of your wedding. Something similar happened with my bhai’s sherwani on the day of his wedding 😀

Finally we found it, and untill that time we did the basic makeup,etc. Jewellery was required before hair for the maang tikka etc placing.

I also learned some tips and tricks for him. He said I am the first bride he is working on who knows so much about makeup and makeup brands and is so knowledgeable,that he loved doing my makeup 🙂

He made a slight wing with the Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate and lined the waterline too with it. (I love it too..was carrying only this liner/kajal for my honeymoon)

And last but not the least mascara..

We did not have flowers and Cory wanted to add them to the bun, so he went and got some flowers from the wedding mandap 😀

Lakmé Salon Presented ‘Show Stopping Hair’ Collection Styled by Little Shilpa @ Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014

Hey guys,

So I attended this #HairIsFashion #ShowStoppingHair ‘first of its kind’ hair fashion show yesterday at Lakme Fashion Week. It was styled by Little Shilpa, but the whole show revolved around hair.

Lakmé Salon brought hair to the forefront for the first time in the history of Lakmé Fashion Week through its ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection. Styled by Little Shilpa, the line showcased a variety of head-turning avant-garde hairstyles that opened with ‘Metamorphosis’; a play of hair colors, followed by ‘Illusion’; a tryst of hair lengths and textures and ended with the classic ‘Moulin Rouge’; bouffants and updos galore. Twelve models walked the ramp with the spotlight uniquely focused on their hair, punctuating Lakmé Salon’s belief ‘Hair is Fashion’.

The collection took its cues from three different spaces; postmodern Paris,romantic Paris and Moulin Rouge.

Cutting edge hairstyles, and mirror images of opposite hair lengths and textures constituted the first part of the show, ‘Metamorphosis’.

‘Illusion’ inspired by the ‘Northern lights’ phenomenon celebrated the confluence of hair colors.

Finally, red crystal chains around hair cones, coiffures and red crystal nested mohawks recreated ‘Moulin Rouge’ for the show.

Whether drapes of shredded fabric around models in all black, or corsets with micro shorts, Little Shilpa certainly added some interesting design elements that complimented Lakmé Salon’s unconventional hairstyles. Add to that theatrical lighting where the spotlight followed models, furthered the dramatic tone of the show. Little Shilpa also created a special limited edition hair accessory which will be offered to the first 20 Lakmé Salon customers who opt for these newly introduced looks. These pieces have been crafted basis the three themes that were showcased at the show.

Metamorphosis

At the event, Shailesh Moolya, Creative Hair Director, Lakmé Salons stated that “Lakmé Salon for the first time in India made hair the hero of the show. It was great to see such an outstanding response. Our three creative and trendy hair themes from the ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection will revolutionize hair fashion in the country and are going to make hair the boldest fashion statement. These gorgeous, fashion-forward looks from the runway, in their wearable avatar, will be brought to over 150 Lakmé Salons in 50 plus cities, giving women a chance to experience a new expression of fashion through their hair.”

The collection fluently delivered the message that show stopping fashion begins with hair. The prêt-à-porter versions of the Illusion, Metamorphosis and Moulin Rouge looks from the ‘Show Stopping Hair’ collection will be available at over 150 Lakmé Salons in the country.

But this was one unique concept and show. The hairstyles must have taken hours! I actually loved the whole enthusiasm and energy of the models, designer Little Shilpa and Shailesh behind the whole show.
