So at first I thought I have an olive shade which is marked as blue..these both read pink and blue..(Remember the goof up in Eyeconic..I got two greens instead of one grey..read HERE )

Now I got confused between the blue and green..there was no swatch for the blue one anywhere online..and this swatches a deep green..

Basically the three blue/greens in this range are one is a turquoise blue, one olive green and one this Blue which is a deep sea green..

These are eyeshadows in chubby plastic crayon form with transparent lids and matching ends to the shades..and needs to be sharpened.

Pink is a beautiful champagne pink..makes a nice easy to wear color..a great highlight, perfect for inner corners and also highlighting your cheeks.. (or as shown to us in the Lakme Absolute Illusion Masterclass, after the normal base shadow is done, this pink shade was warmed in between fingers and applied at the centre..i.e where the eyeballs are..and it gave a beautiful nice shimmery sheen) Very multi purpose !

Blue is actually a deep sea green..its quite rich and dark..and would make for perfect night time smokey eyes.

They have all the features they mentioned ! Glides effortlessly, super soft, amazing pigmentation, stays put throughout the day but needs to be blended super fast coz it sets immediately.

Here I have used Pink with subtle eyeliner..would look great with bold red lips..or any bright lip..when you do not want the eyes to be heavy..but still some sheen and shine 🙂

Pros:

1. Super soft.
2. Glides smoothly.
3. Doubles up as an eyeliner.. (though a thicker one..you can make for subtle smokey eyes by just blending the thick liner)
4. Stays put through the day.
5. Amazingly pigmented.
6. Comes in 8 shades to choose from.. Bronze and Purple are amazing too..apart from these two..and White which is a nice golden white.
7. Pink and White are multi purpose.

Cons:

1. I am not sure why this is named ‘Blue’ :/
2. These are priced a little higher. (Rimmel Scandaleyes are priced at Rs.415/- for 3.2g qty..though a few shades in Lakme are more pigmented than Rimmel)

Overall I would say, these are quite amazing…and I loved the shades they have come up with..there are subtle Pink and White..and bright Purple and Blue, and Indian wedding wear Bronze and Olive..there is one for everyone..and for all occasions..Highly recommend them..

Rating:

Quality: 4/5
Value for money: 3.75/5
Availability: 4/5

Overall Rating: 3.75/5

Would I buy it again: Yes..I am liking Bronze and Purple.

Have you tried the Lakme Drama Stylist Eye Crayons ?

So with the advent of summers, we see new sunscreens launched in the market..Lakme and Vichy being two of them..

If you are looking for that gorgeous finish along with sun protection, then the Super Sunscreen is just what you need as it also serves as a makeup base.
Lakmé 9to5 Super Sunscreen is apt for women with very little or no time to layer their skin with multiple products. UVA Rays can cause wrinkles, pigmentation disorders, sunspots, immediate darkening of the pre-formed melanin while UVB rays are a source of sunburns and tanning by stimulating melanocytes to produce melanin rapidly. It has also been found that pro-longed exposure to both of these rays can induce ageing and skin cancer. Health-conscious consumers hence demand a potently shielding Sunscreen for daily application. In such a scenario, a good Sunscreen like the Capital Soleil should fulfill the following factors:
Complete protection:  Thorough measure of the Protection factor against both UVB & UVA rays thus protecting the skin’s Health, Youth and Beauty.
High Safety: Should be Hypoallergenic, friendly with sensitive skin, Non-comedogenic
Texture: Should be easily absorbing and should suit different skin types

Lakme Absolute Illusion Masterclass at LFW S/R 2014

Lakme Absolute Illusion Masterclass at LFW S/R 2014
NATASHA NISCHOL CONDUCTED THE LAKME ABSOLUTE ILLUSION MAKEUP MASTER CLASS AT LAKME FASHION WEEK SUMMER/RESORT 2014
I attended Lakme Fashion Week on Saturday..i.e the 15th..if you follow me on facebook or Instagram, you would have seen the pics..
So anyways, there was this Lakme Absolute Masterclass too..remember last year’s Masterclass..see HERE.
Lakme a trendsetter for decades has created several outstanding looks each season. An informative makeup masterclass was conducted by Lakme Makeup Expert, Natasha Nischol at the Jabong Stage on day four during Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014.
Purnima Lamba, Head Innovation at Lakme, introduced Natasha Nischol on stage and invited her to demonstrate the second edition of Lakme Absolute Master Class themed around Lakme’s latest offering the Lakme Absolute Illusion range. Natasha revealed how to achieve the Lakme Absolute Illusion Metallic Look that is all set to be the beauty trend of the season.
VJ Sarah Jane Dias, Lakme Digital Ambassador was the model for the session. During this one hour session, Natasha Nischol demonstrated the Absolute Illusion Day and Night looks on Sarah Jane Dias.
Lakme Absolute Illusion – Day to Night
For the Lakme Absolute Illusion by Day look, a base of Lakme Youth Infinity Moisturizer, Foundation and Concealer was applied to Sarah’s face prior to the show. Sarah’s hair was also prepped up according to the 70’s vibe – big and curly. A bronzer from the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist range was used for the cheekbones, followed by blending the eyes with the Lakme Absolute Illusion Pearl Eyeshadow, which Natasha insisted could be used in light or heavy portions. A streak of black eyeliner was applied to infuse the colour of the shimmery eye shadow, to give it an electric feel. Dots of electric violet and blue from the Lakme Absolute Eye Shadow Duos were added on top of the eyeliner and to the inner corner of the eye, adding dimension.

Sarah’s eyelashes were curled using the Lakme Absolute Voluminizing Mascara. Sarah confessed that she loved flaunting fake eyelashes, which she found very dramatic.
Natasha finished this Absolute Illusion day look by dabbing the lips in a matte orange lipstick (I guess it was Vermillion) from the Lakme 9to5 range. Sarah walked down the ramp flaunting her bold avatar, swaying to the Bee Gees. Natasha mentioned that ‘Saffron Gossip’ from the same range is a lighter hue of orange lipstick that is safe to play with.
Sarah expressed that she faced a problem with metallic eye shadow fading off an hour after applying it. Natasha explained that the secret to long lasting makeup is to layer and blend in eye shadow with cream and powder so that it sets through the day. Natasha suggested that women should go all out and experiment with purple, blue and aquamarine that look gorgeous on Indian women.

The Lakme Absolute Illusion by Night was achieved by adding touch-ups to the day look and blending in purple Lakme Absolute Drama Stylist Crayon Eyeshadow followed by building in the intensity of the eye shadow with a slightly darken tone. Another line of eyeliner which smudged easily into the purple canvas brought a little sparkle in a pink glitter shadow over the inner corner of the eyes. Sarah’s lips were dabbed in a soft coral called ‘Rust Crush’. The look was completed by applying a coat of mascara and brushing the face with some glitter over the cheekbones in a decent amount of bronze blush – Lakme Absolute Blush, Night Sheen.
Natasha mentioned that all girls love their glitter and one can never have too much of it. Sarah Jane revealed the secret of big hairdos by simply making multiple tiny braids on wet hair and leaving it overnight, untie each braid, a dab of mousse for the 70’s look.
Natasha Nischol graduated from the prestigious London College of Fashion, worked in London and Hong Kong. Trained with Oscar winning make-up artist Jenny Shircore in the UK, she assisted him on The Phantom of the Opera and Four Feathers.  Natasha runs India’s paramount make-up academy – fat mu makeup school, along with her partner Virginia Holmes.

How to use Lakme Eyeconic White Kajal

How to use Lakme Eyeconic White Kajal
From Snow White in fairytales, Megan Fox in Hollywood to the sexy Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor everyone is in on a new beauty secret- White!. This new colour trend has made its way from runways and fairytales to mainstream make-up routines the world over. It is a shade that helps achieve a range of looks from ‘sexy siren’ to ‘subtle princess’ with a single stroke of the pencil. The new range of kajal pencils by Lakme Eyeconic includes the unmissable white kajal that marks a new dawn in eye-styling. The unconventional Eyeconic White also allows you to experiment with your style and wardrobe and challenge yourself to be adventurous everyday. For generations, the black kohl has ruled the make-up box of every contemporary Indian woman with its ability to quickly brighten the eyes with minimal fuss. Now it’s time to break that code and widen the gaze by adding white to your make-up essentials.
Here are a few quick tips to add some adventure to your eyes.
Tip #1: Highlight the Inner Corner

Use white eyeliner to highlight the inside corner of your eyes. Starting from the corner, fan out about a centimeter on the top and bottom lid. This will make your eyes brighter and very captivating..
Tip #2: Layers of Color
Produce a white line of your top lid twice as thick as you would normally apply a black kajal. Next, apply black or brown liner on top of it with a line about half as thick. This will create a double eyeliner look that makes your eyes stand outwith a little drama.
Tips #3: Under Your Brows To Highlight Your Brow Bone

Use the Lakme Eyeconic White kajal to accentuate your eyes by highlighting your brow bone. This can be done with simple sweeps underneath the brow then smudging it along the brow bone.
Check out the review and swatches HERE

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Green, Blue, Brown, White Review, Swatches

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Green, Blue, Brown,White Review, Swatches
If you follow me my facebook and/or twitter..you would be knowing how I got the box torn from one side..and the pen drive was missing..

And instead of the grey, I got two green shades..

So lets review the four I have..

What the Company claims: Reinvent your everyday look with the all new Lakme Eyeconic White. With a deep colored stroke in an easy twist up format, it gives your eyes a long-lasting, Eyeconic look throughout the day.Smudge proof, water proof and dermatologically tested; Lakme’s Eyeconic White accentuates your eyes and makes them look bigger and brighter.

Key Features:

Smudge proof
Water Proof, Lasts up to 10 hrs
Safe for eyes
Convenient Twist- up format

MRP: Rs.250/- for 1.3g

It comes in the same retractable kajal packaging as Lakme Eyeconic in Black or other kajals in the market..its a tough competition in kajals category, I tell you..

White is a pure white shade

Brown is a dark chocolate brown

Green is a deep forest green

Blue is a light forest green (?) (I have no idea why the blue is a green..Lakme has released blue which is almost similar to the green..just a tad bit lighter..I had first thought I got three greens..but it was named blue..and when I saw online, I found that their blue is just like the green..I wish it was a navy blue or a nice peacock or turquoise blue..why the same blue as green, Lakme ?)

Anyways, so here you see only white and brown different..and two similar greens :p

T-B: Brown, Blue, Green, White

These are so super soft..these just break ! Two of the pencils’ tips broke while swatching..and again while trying..I have no idea why these are so soft..do they need to be kept in fridge or something ? It is as it is quite cold..this is only leading to product wastage..and after breaking the tip again and again, you will be hardly left with any product :/

One has to be super careful with this..

These do glide on smoothly and are too soft..no tugging or pulling..pigmentation is quite good too..

They stay on for 7-8 hours on my upper lashline and for 4-5 hours on my waterline..there was not much smudging..but just that they collect at the edges of the eye..but no raccoon eyes issue..

White looks too stark white..I prefer nudes on my waterline..I like using the white in the inner corners of the eyes..
Here I have used brown on my upper and lower lashline and waterline and white slightly in the inner corners..

I like the green one too..

Overall, I would say these are new in the market and colored kajals are a nice thing to have..and budget friendly too..only issue is too much product wastage..and not many shade options..

I would recommend the Green and Brown ! And if you like using white on the waterline..White too..

Rating:

Quality: 3.75/5
Value for money: 4/5
Availability: 4/5

Overall Rating: 3.75/5

Would I buy it again: Yes..may be the Brown and Green..and other shades, if they come out with them..How I wish they do..

P.S: I am loving the songs ‘Ye Kudi Badi Drama Queen Hai’ and ‘Tune Maari Entry toh Dil Me Baji Ghantiya Re Tang Tang’ 😀 Do you like them too ? Soo catchy !

Have you tried the new Lakme Eyeconic Colored Kajal ?

Pucker & Pout Contest Entry -1

Pucker & Pout Contest Entry -1

First of all, I am reallyyy sorry for this delay in posting the entries..Caught up with tooo many things..

Lets start with the 1st entry..

Entry by Saloni Goel

My favorite lipstick is Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color MB10 Beige Post colour..

I have read many reviews of this shade and all were giving it a low mark..

May be they are right but for me this one is good.. although I too need a lip balm before applying it but the shade is good for me.

As I don’t like dark shades lipstick this nude brown shade works good for me.

I usually wear this with smokey eye make up, trendy neck piece, a beautiful dress and a bun or high pony.

Editor’s Note: As you mentioned rightly Saloni, this shade is very good for smokey eyes..an apt nude..Best of Luck 🙂
