Elle 18 Makeup Range Review, Swatches, FOTD

Elle 18 Makeup Range Review, Swatches, FOTD

I had mentioned about the all new Elle 18 Makeup range HERE. Today I am doing a short review and look with the new Elle 18 range..

The Glow Foundation

An every-day silky delicate texture foundation with SPF 8 and fragments of a gentle moisturizer that blends into your  skin to give a bright radiant finish and is available in 4 shades. The glow foundation is your instant beauty fix right before your class presentation, college fest or even a simple party in the evening.

Price: Rs. 150 (30 ml) Shades: Pearl, Coral, Marble and Shell

The foundation comes in a tube packaging..its easy to use and carry along..and blends really well..the coverage is sheer though..more like a tinted moisturiser..I got the shade Shell which is slightly yellow and darker for me..but on blending, it did not look dark or yellow..I think its pretty good for daily use..and at 150 bucks, I am not complaining.

Rating: 3.5/5

The Glow Compact

The Matte Compact is slim and easy to carry and it smoothens and moisturizes the skin at the same time protecting it from pollution. Whether it’s a party you are excited to go to or the college fest you want to be part of, the Glow Compact gives you that extra ‘oomph’ to dazzle everyone with your radiance.

Price: Rs. 150 (9 gm) Shades: Pearl, Coral, Marble and Shell

I think this is the highlight if this range..the compact comes with a mirror and powder puff..and 9g is super huge qty and at a humble price of Rs.150/- ! It is silky, smooth in texture and keeps the skin matte. I got the shade Marble which suits me perfectly..and covers up for the slightly darker foundation when layered..I did highly recommend this ! Does not pinch your pockets at all and does its job amazingly well.

Rating: 4.5/5

The Juicy Lip Balm

A lip balm is the quintessential beauty must have for the young woman of today.  The Elle 18 Juicy Balm is a non-sticky balm with Vitamin E, Olive, oil and Jojoba oil to ensure nourishing, soft and smooth lips.  The juicy lip balm is the perfect combination of colour and care to ensure you have lip smacking pouts always.

Price: Rs. 110 (9 ml) Shades: Pink, Red, Mauve, Berry, Beige and Peach

I got the shade Juicy Berry..it comes in a tube packaging with a slanted applicator..Juicy Berry is a nice coral pink shade..it comes up sheer..but does moisturise the lips well..good for some color and moisturisation in winters..since its in liquid form, it makes the lips look all luscious and juicy..I only wish it was a little more pigmented.

Rating: 3.75/5

The Elle 18 Colour Pop Liner

Four new exciting shades have been added to the Colour Pop range to ensure that you never face a dull day in college. Brighten your eyes with these magnificent tones and wink your way to an A on your next assignment.

Price: Rs. 75 (5 ml) Shades: Green, Brown, Grey and Blue

It comes in a small round glass bottle..just like the nail paints and eyeliner..which they have previously too. The bristles of the brush are not even and that makes application a little difficult..and its quiet sheer and needs a lot of layering for it to show up properly..pretty ok..good for someone who wants to try different colored liquid liners on a budget !

Rating: 3/5

Here are all the four products together..

I did a look with them..and I am quite surprised by the outcome..coz it looked pretty good..this can also be a look using only 5 products..I used the above four Elle 18 products and just some kohl on the waterline..thats it..

I love how the range is super affordable..and perfect for college going girls ! Beauty on a budget ? Check out Elle 18..I am sure you would love some of these..

I hope you liked the look..and do let me know which Elle 18 product is your favorite ? I think I would go with the compact, followed by the Lip balm..what about you ?

Haul: Stila, theBalm, La Roche-Posay, EOS

Haul: Stila, theBalm, La Roche-Posay, EOS

Hey everyone,

I am back with a haul after a long time ! My cousin was coming from the US and I always order stuff from Apothica and get it delivered at his place. (Cashing on the free shipping within US :p)

This time I ordered Stila In the Light Palette, theBalm Stainiac in Prom Queen, La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, EOS Lip Balms in Strawberry Sorbet and Summer Fruit and Styli Style Line and Seal 24H Eye Pencil in Bronze.

Stila In the Light Palette is my fav of the lot. Its a collection of Stila’s award-winning eye shadows in wearable, neutral shades for every skin tone that can be worn wet or dry and comes with Stila Smudge Stick in Damsel, a matte brown shade. Comes with a lookbook which has 4-5 different looks from day to night. I feel many of the shades are quite similar to the ones in UD Naked Palette.

theBalm Stainiac is a lip and Cheek Stain..Prom Queen is a pretty strawberry red tint.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water…wanted to try from a long time and EOS lip balms too.

Styli Style Line and Seal eye pencil in Bronze..heard the brand first time..but read good reviews that it really does stay put whole day.

Whats your favorite ?

These are Pink Lolita, Coral Flush and Rose Addict..other shades available are Cherry Kiss and Berry Crush

Care ones are Mango Pie and Anti Oxidant Berry..

Ingredients:

I like the cute packaging..though the transparent lids in the US are more cuter..but the funky colors are eye catching..the key chain ‘Pucker Up Baby’ is cute too with the holder behind.

These are the tinted ones from the Color Family..and the ones from the Care family are non tinted..

Pink Lolita gives a soft pink tint and Coral Flush a peachy coral hue..these are quite moisturising..a little waxy but not sticky..

Anti Oxidant Berry has a nice bubble gum smell which I loveee..And for Mango lovers there is Mango Pie..it would surely make you feel like eating it up 😀

Here are the swatches..

T- Pink Lolita B- Coral Flush
Anti Oxidant Berry- clear

Pros:

1. Moisturising..a little waxy but not sticky kind.
2. Gives a light natural tint.
3. Can be easily used under lipsticks..does not make the lipsticks slide or bleed.
4. Cute packaging.
5. Different tints and flavors to choose from.
6. Easy to carry around.
7. Swivel tube..so no messy hands.
8. Smells amazing..the berry has a nice bubble gum smell.
9. Has SPF 20 and 16 in Care and Color respectively.

Cons:

1. Needs to be reapplied..would not heal very dry lips.
2. Not tinted enough to cover pigmented lips.

Overall I do like these..and also the fact that there are different tints and variants in it..I would like more in the Care family too..with all possible flavors and smells..:D

Ice Breakers Bubble Gum Lip Balm Review

Ice Breakers Bubble Gum Lip Balm Review

Enfresh Ice Breakers Lip Balm come in a variety of flavors..but they are all plain untinted lip balms..the flavors are of the scent..like Peach, Bubble Gum, Mint, Strawberry,etc..

Ice Breakers is a big name for lip balms abroad…mostly I guess in the Middle East..They have a range of Sours Lip Balm, Ice Cubes Bubble Gums, etc

MRP: Around 3-4$

My friend got it from Dubai..so I am not aware..

I loved the outer carton and the packaging of these..its a round ice cream tub like packaging..and I initially thought that again one of those..dip hands inside tub..but this thing rotates like a normal chapstick…so do not be confused by the round tub packaging..the whole tub swivels and it can be easily used on the lips..like a normal chapstick.

It has SPF 15..so another added advantage is sun protection for lips..even though its  like a thick chapstick in texture..its not waxy or greasy at all..glides on smoothly on the lips..and it heals chapped lips too apart from keeping them moisturised !

I use it overnight and my lips are completely healed the next morning..I keep it on the side table near my bed..

Plus I totally love the bubble gum smell..its not sweet or over powering…I used it whole winters..and now its almost over..and I want it again 🙁 Why is it not available here 🙁

Availability is an only issue with this..I would have got all the flavors if it was available here..if you go to Dubai or Middle East or find this anywhere else…I totally recommend getting these..

The Nature’s Co. Chocolate Mint Lip Balm Review

The Nature’s Co. Chocolate Mint Lip Balm Review

What the Company claims: Chocolate & Mint Lip Balm

Moisturizing, softening, soothing, and cooling.

Net Wt: 10 ml (0.3 fl.oz)
MRP: Rs. 225.00

Ingredients:

Chocolate & Mint Lip Balm is a part of the Earthborne Range of the Nature’s Co. It comes in the trademark Nature’s Co. square packaging with an inverted top which closes opposite way.

This smells exactly like toffee ! I love the smell..quite unlike its fellow Body Butter..which did not please my nose..

But its a little hard in texture..and does not come out easily..and being in a tub..you need to dig in the fingers..which I do not much like..though it softened in summers..its not so emollient as a lip balm should be..

It comes out transparent…I do not find it very moisturising though..it would keep lips soft..but it cannot heal chapped lips..

Pros:

1. Love the toffee smell.
2. I like the packaging..though it occupies more space coz of the shape.
3. Keeps lips soft.
4. I liked the ingredients..shea butter, mango butter,etc
5. Economically priced for 10ml.

Cons:

1. Its a little hard in texture and does not come out easily…more so in winters.
2. Does not heal chapped lips.
3. Tub packaging.

Overall its like a normal lip balm..if you love the toffee smell..you can try it at the stores..I would have preferred it to be more moisturising and if it would have helped in healing chapped lips too. If you looking for something more healing..then I would not recommend this..

Faces Glam On Lipstick Review,Swatches

Faces Glam On Lipstick 101 Barely There Review,Swatches

What the Company claims: Rich, vibrant and long staying color, which is enriched with Vitamin E that nourishes your lips and keeps them soft and kissable. It glides on your lips effortlessly in a strong, smooth and even application.

Go, sweep the world off its feet!

MRP: Rs. 499/- for 4g

Shades available:

  • 101- Barely There
  • 102- Sugar Rose
  • 103- Silken Peach
  • 104- Nectarine
  • 201- Candy Pink
  • 202- Violascious
  • 203- Luscious Lavender

  • 205- Berry Truffle

  • 402- Crimson
  • 403- Sangria
  • 404- Red Coral
  • 405- Vintage Red
  • 406- Wine
  • 501- Gothica
Now you must have known by the names that this range does not have normal everyday shades..but all bright and unique ones like transparent barely there, reds, purples, violets, lavender, grape, Gothic Black,etc..

This range is truly different.. I liked a few like Sugar Rose or Peach..this Barely There shade is a clear lip balm..This works more as a base to use underneath lipsticks or as a gloss to top lipsticks or matte lip creams with..

Its quite moisturising as a lip balm..the silver packaging is nice too..since this is devoid of any color..I don’t know about the staying power, etc

Overall its nice as a lip balm..but I would not advice spending 500 bucks for a clear lip balm.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 Review

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 Review

What the Company claims: A Kiehl’s classic and #1 bestseller, soothing lips since 1969.

•Helps protect lips from the drying effects of wind and cold weather.
•Formulated with soothing emollients Squalane, Lanolin and Sweet Almond Oil as well as Vitamins A and E.

Directions: Apply liberally, and allow an excess of the balm to be absorbed.

Key Ingredients: KAH –tuhn seed OY-il
Cotton seed oil is a pale yellow, odorless liquid expressed from various varieties of cotton. It is widely used in skin care as a formula softener.

OCT-in-OX-sate
Octinoxate, also known as Octylmethoxycinnamate or Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, is a popular chemical sunscreen ingredient. An excellent UVB ray absorber, it helps prevent skin from burning in the sun.

MRP: 0.5 fl. oz. Tube- $7.00
0.6 fl. oz. Jar- $7.50- 17g (Rs. 495/- here)

Ingredients:

It comes both in tube and jar form..which is nice..just that the jar thing costs only 50 cents more but the qty is 0.1 fl. oz. more..

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 is one of their bestsellers..it is sold every 9 seconds in the world…in fact it is one product our very own Katrina Kaif cannot live without..any many other stars swear by it..well I totally agree !

I am using the jar one..it comes with a protective seal and is tightly secured..it looks light yellow in the jar but comes off transparent like petroleum jelly..the texture is like petroleum jelly too..

It does not have any smell and spreads around smoothly on the lips..I usually use it at nights..this is my lip savior in these harsh winters..my lips were getting too dry and chapped especially my upper lip..I am so glad I found this..

Pros:

1. It does what it claims..helps protect lips from being chapped and from the dry winters.
2. It contains sweet almond oil and cotton seed oil and Vitamins A and E..I quite liked the ingredients.
3. Does not have any smell.
4. Even though they are priced at 495/- the quantity is huge enough..so decently priced.
5. Comes in both tube and jar form..so you can select a tube if you feel thats more hygienic.
6. It gets absorbed in a few minutes and leaves the lips moist, soft and supple. I usually prefer keeping it overnight.
7. Octinoxate will help protect lips from the sun.

Cons:

1. Difference in price is less and quantity is more for the tube form.
2. Not available everywhere..Kiehl’s is presently in Delhi and Mumbai.

No other cons with it..if you suffer from dry lips..you should surely give this a try..your lips would love this !

Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter Review

Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter Review

What the Company claims:

Ingredients:

MRP: Rs. 100/- for 4g

The cocoa butter lip therapy..has this brown and white normal twist up packaging..its a clear balm..and not tinted..and one major difference is its not too thick..but waxy..like a thin layer would spread on the lips..and you can easily wear this under a lipstick…the lipstick would not slip..or the color would not change..

Pros:

1. Easy to use and carry around.
2. Its not tinted..so you can wear it anytime anywhere…even when you feel you want to avoid colors.
3. Easily available everywhere..including pharmacies.
4. It has a soft cocoa butter smell..I like..
5. Can be used under lipsticks as its not too thick or gooey.

Cons:

1. I wished it was more moisturising. Though its good for daily use..but it does not heal my chapped lips in these harsh winters.

No other cons as such..overall its good…but for the winters I would prefer something more moisturising.
