Beauty/Makeup Haul: Nykaa & Amazon

Hi guys,

I got some stuff from Nykaa and Amazon, it’s been a few months though that I recorded this video. I was waiting since a long time to upload it coz it was something or the other coming up in between.

Let’s see what all I picked from Nykaa.com

Kama Ayurveda Mridual Soap-Free Facial Cleanser 40g- Rs.295/-
Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser 200ml – Rs. 975

I wanted to try these both since a long time but never really went to the store for just 1 product and you know how it is with Forest Essentials, once you go into the store, you want everything and get confused most of the times 😀 I am glad we can buy these Luxury Beauty brands including a few which are not available in India, on Amazon.in now 🙂

I hope you liked my haul, do let me know if you want any specific review first. I will try and use them before, coz there are still a few reviews in line already :/

July 2015 Favourites

July 2015 Favourites

Hi guys,

It’s been a long time that I did a favourites post and since I am doing YouTube videos now and was doing a July Favourites video, I thought of doing a post too along with.

Here are some of the products I have been loving a lot in July:

1. Kerastase Elixir Ultime Beautifying Oil Cream

It is so light in texture, lighter than the Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oil and you just need a pea sized amount of it. It controls most of my frizz and also gives the hair a nice shine. (Full Review HERE)

2. The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet

This one I reviewed just yesterday, I had been using this a lot in summers too. I absolutely love the citrus burst and the light feel of it when I don’t want heavy, rich moisturizers on my body in this hot, humid climate. (Full Review HERE)

3. Za Perfect Fit Liquid Foundation

Again something water based and very light in texture. It lets your skin breathe and you won’t even realize you are wearing a foundation and still get even skin tone and light coverage, plus a nice illuminating finish. (Full Review HERE)

4. Maybelline The Colossal Liner

Maybelline HyperSharp liner was my all time favourite, untill Maybelline India launched the new Maybelline The Colossal Liner. I absolutely love the tip and how it gives a perfect winged line and precise control. I have been using only this since the past 2-3 months and sometimes gel liners when I have a little more time. (Full Review HERE)

5. Maybelline ColorShow Lipsticks

Maybelline’s new ColorShow Lipsticks are just perfect and a total value for money. At Rs.299/- for 3.9g and 32 shades ranging from pinks to reds to oranges and browns, these are apt for daily wear for office or college or just about anywhere. I love the shade Cherry Crush followed by Red Rush. Red Rush is the shade I am wearing here in the video. I am looking forward to try the shade Midnight Pink too. (Review and Swatches HERE)

6. Sudio Sweden Klang Earphones

And last but not the least, my new Sudio Sweden Klang white and gold earphones. I forgot to include them in the video, but these are something I have been hooked on to from the past 7-8 days and would be hooked on to for a long time to come 😀 These are absolutely fantastic, the sound quality is beyond amazing. Klang works best for iPhone (does work on my Android equally well) and has one cord longer than the other, and the longer one goes behind your neck for the stay-in-ear function. The cords are made of very good quality too and yes, these never get entangled ever 🙂

Guarantee Card, 4 sizes of pods and a clipper, Leather Case, Owner’s Manual

It comes with a guarantee card, leather case for storage, 4 different sizes of pods and a clipper. One can adjust the sound and mic with the three buttons on the cord. Sudio earphones are total value for money and come in a range of classy colors. I love this white and gold combination the most, followed by black.

What are you current favourites? Do we share any common favourites? Do let me know in the comments below 🙂

The main four color families are:
– Classis Reds (7 shades)

– Delicious Browns (9 shades)

Why you will love this new lip color range? Because,
– They give all day hydration.
– They are heat resistant
– They guarantee color integrity.
– They do not fade even in extreme heat and humidity.
– They have a non-sticky, soft texture and hence are easy to glide.

The Color Show Lip Colors provide you with a range of shades which have the right amount of moisture, a sweet fragrance and stay true without drying up your lips just for Rs. 299/-

MRP: Rs.299/- for 3.9g

I am not sure if there are 27 shades or 32 shades, or maybe they have added 5 new shades.

Here are the 27 shades..

Maybelline’s Color Show range, whether it be nail paints or lipsticks, is a big hit! Coz they offer so many shades and are so economical plus they offer quality too!

Today I am reviewing the shades Fuchsia Flare,Orange Icon, Red Rush and Cherry Crush.

Fuchsia Flare is from the Pink family, Orange Icon is from the Brown family and Red Rush and Cherry Crush from the Red family.

To start with the packaging, they come in a black packaging with a thin transparent strip in between which denotes which color family the shade belongs to, isn’t that cool and makes it easy to identify too unless of course if you have more shades from the same color family.

They have a nice, sweet candy smell which I love. The colors are super pigmented and glide on like butter. All the shades are true to its names. They have a creme finish, so neither glossy nor matte.

L-R: Fuchsia Flare,Orange Icon,Red Rush,Cherry Crush
Clockwise from left: Fuchsia Flare,Orange Icon,Red Rush,Cherry Crush

These swatches are just 2 light swipes.

L-R: Fuchsia Flare,Orange Icon,Red Rush,Cherry Crush

They stay on for 3-4 hours and leave behind a stain, especially the darker colors. They can survive light snacks and drinks but not full meal. Also these are not transfer proof.

Here are these on moi..

Clockwise from left: Fuchsia Flare,Orange Icon,Red Rush,Cherry Crush

Fuchsia Flare is a true blue based fuchsia pink ( no hint of neon)

Orange Icon is a light orange color. It reminds of those orange wedges shaped sweets we used to get as kids and also orange gola 😀 It is slightly on the sheer side and goes a bit patchy.

Red Rush is a deep warm red which makes you teeth look whiter. It is the most pigmented of the lot.

Cherry Crush is a super pretty carrot pink..my favourite of the lot.

Overall, I would say these are perfect in terms of pricing, quality, quantity, pigmentation, shades available. I have no cons for these, the staying power could have been better but then no creme finish lipsticks stay longer than that anyway. Highly recommended!!

Oriflame The One Colour Unlimited Lipsticks Review,Swatches

Oriflame The One Colour Unlimited Lipsticks Review,Swatches

What the Company claims:

MRP: Rs.499/-  for 1.7g

Shades Available:8

  • Violet Extreme
  • Pink Unlimited
  • Mocha Intensity
  • Fuchsia Excess
  • Forever Plum
  • Endless Red
  • Always Cranberry
  • Absolute Blush

I am reviewing the shades Fuchsia Excess and Endless Red today.

It comes in a sleek and slender grey and black packaging..only disadvantage of this packaging is you always get lipstick on the edges when you swivel it up and down. Also, this type of packaging mostly has less qty of lipstick like this one has only 1.7g

These are very moisturising, you don’t need any lip balm of any sort with these. They have sheer to medium coverage and you will need 2-3 swipes for opaque coverage especially for pigmented lips.

These are very glossy and shiny and mostly all the shades are pink and plum based, so I assume this range is targeted more towards the younger category.

It stays for 2-3 hours and I am a bit disappointed with the staying power, reading the 10 hour claim, but very easy to use and touch up. It does not bleed or stain teeth and you can quickly apply it anywhere.

Fuchsia Excess is a pretty blue based fuchsia pink,no neon here, pure fuchsia pink

Endless Red is a wearable, not too bright, light apple red with some fine shimmer

Top- Fuchsia Excess, Bottom- Endless Red

Here is it on me..

Left- Fuchsia Excess, Right- Endless Red

Overall I would say these are nice lipsticks to try, very moisturising, glossy and comes in some lovely shades. If you are looking for something matte or long staying, these are not meant for you. Also, Oriflame lipsticks are mostly on discounts, so do keep a check on the catalog and buy them on discount as they are a bit expensive at Rs.499/- for the quantity of 1.7g

Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipstick REB04 Review, Swatches

Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipstick REB04 Review, Swatches

So, after reviewing the shades REB01 and REB05 HERE, here is another shade.

What the Company claims: Color Sensational presents the NEW Rebel Bouquet collection. A burst of rebellious colour!

Why You’ll Love It
Super-saturated pigments give fresh-picked pastels a bright kick. Sumptuous feel and enriched with honey nectar. 6 vivacious shades.

MRP: Rs.450/- for 3.9g

Shades Available: 6

The packaging is same as the Colorsensational one with a transparent red cap. It is super creamy and soft in texture, and gives a glossy finish. Though it does not glide on easily onto lips, you need to work carefully.

It is not transfer proof and stays for around 3-4 hours but does not survive eating proper lunch, etc. Very moisturising and you do not need any separate lip balm underneath.

Once settled, the lipstick stays put and the glossiness reduces a bit.

While REB01 was an apple red and REB05 a peachy coral, this shade REB04 is kind of a mix. Its a reddish coral shade.

I love this shade! Not something unique, but somehow love how it brightens my face.

Here is it on me..

Overall, I would say the new Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks are bright, glossy finish lipsticks that stay for a longer time than usual glossy lipsticks. Comes in 6 pretty red, peach and coral shades. Definitely worth a try. Recommended.

New Elle 18 Color Boost Lipsticks Review,Swatches

New Elle 18 Color Boost Lipsticks Review,Swatches

What the Company claims: Elle 18 has made things simpler this summer for all the girls out there with their new range of Color boost lipsticks. It comes in 10 lovely shades including Pinks, Reds and Oranges. These lipsticks are enriched with a special cocoa-butter formula that keeps your lips soft and your colour intact for upto 6 hours. Well, nothing arrests the beholder’s attention more than a glamourous pout.

MRP: Rs.150/-

Shades Available: 10

I am reviewing 7 of them today. Elle 18 Color Boost Lipsticks come in a pretty black and pink girlie packaging, like it always has been. Check out the previous range HERE

The lipsticks have an orange center which is their lip balm at the core, that keeps the lipstick moisturising. I like how hydrating and light they feel on the lips. Surprisingly, they are very, very pigmented. I just couldn’t get rid of the swatches from the hand even after washing thrice with a cleanser and had to use a good makeup remover to finally remove them.

Of course. they don’t stay for 6 hours as claimed, but the staying power is better than the previous Color Pop Lipsticks. The lighter shades stay for around 2.5-3 hours and the darker ones stay for around 3.5-4 hours, without and eating that is.

They are not transfer proof, but even after they wear off, the brighter shades leave a nice tint behind.

Talking of the packaging, it is very, very flimsy. One lipstick which I loved the most, Miss Pink  was already broken from the bullet before I received them. So, these are not very travel friendly too and should be carried along with care.

But as you guys know, the brand Elle 18 is all about affordability. These babies are very economical at 150 bucks and all the 10 new shades are super pretty and bright. Perfect for summers. Highly recommend getting 1-2 of these!

Here are the shades:

07 Hollywood Pink: Reddish Pink with silver shimmer

10 Superlicious Red : Warm Red with a hint of coral

08 Red Passion: Warm Orange Red

09 Hyper Orange: Warm Bright Peach

01 Miss Pink: Soft Fuchsia Pink

05 Nude Coral: MLBB Everyday nude shade with a hint of coral

06 Blonde Pink: Rosey Pink Brown with silver shimmer

And on moi..

I invested a lot of time in swatching, editing, etc. :/ I hope you guys like these pics and it is helpful for you to decide the shades, if in case you are buying it online or even shortlisting shades, if you are buying it from the store.

My favourite shades are Superlicious Red, Red Passion and Miss Pink, followed by Blonde Pink.

Red Apple Lipstick Petal Pusher, Red 101 Review,Swatches

Red Apple Lipstick Petal Pusher, Red 101 Review,Swatches

What the Company claims: Gluten Free, Paraben Free Lipstick That’s So Creamy, So Fresh, So Moisturizing…You’ll Freak Out If You Lose It

Red Apple Lipstick™ is independently lab-tested gluten free. Our formula is designed this way, and is the world’s best gluten free lipstick. Why is this important? A large portion of our population has an intolerance to gluten, meaning that any trace of gluten entering their system can cause undesirable symptoms.

Red Apple Lipstick™ is a mineral based lipstick that is enriched with a gluten free source of Vitamin E. It is non-toxic, gluten free and paraben free. Red Apple Lipstick™ is THE safe lipstick! Our lipsticks are designed to nourish and moisturize your lips while staying put.

Available in 43 shades.

MRP: $23.50 for 4.5g each

Red! 101: Red!™ by Red Apple Lipstick™ is our brightest red! This red was designed for those who are truly brave enough to wear red lipstick. Not for the faint of heart, Red!™ turns heads, gets attention and flutters hearts.

Red!™ has a subtle vanilla scent, giving you a perfectly kissable pout with a wonderful fragrance and taste. You won’t be disappointed in this bright red lipstick!

Red! is our signature blue-based red lipstick. This color is absolutely fabulous and serves up glamour without fail!
We’ve seen this color on women of all ages, skin tones and walks of life; it really becomes the rockstar of any makeup bag!

Petal Pusher: This light version of a hot pink is incredibly versatile. It can be worn super bold with two coats. You can tone it down for a perfect bright pink with only one coat.

Petal Pusher is the perfect pink – it’s soft hot pink hue will brighten any face. It’s versatility can go from day to night with one extra swipe! That’s worth smiling for!

Gluten, Soy, and Paraben Free. This formula does contain almond oil which gives it a slick and moisturizing feel.

You were looking for the hottest hot pink…and HERE it is! Combining all the most brilliant of bright pink hues: fuchsia, magenta, and hot pink! Bright – bold – fun…just like YOU!! Petal Pusher is an absolute must-have!

I love their simple black packaging. The colours are bright and pigmented. The lipsticks are buttery soft, especially Petal Pusher. It actually broke the time I tried swatching it :/ Maybe coz of the summer heat and travel it went through 😀

It goes on smooth and it doesn’t feel heavy at all. It does not accentuate the lines on the lips and keeps the lips moisturized and hydrated too.

Petal Pusher is a nice, soft rosy pink. Though its cool-toned, its not like Barbie pink and does not wash me out. I quite like this shade, I wish it did not break 🙁

Red! 101 is their signature red. A true red that would work for all skin tones. Its bright and bold, but not in your face or look I am wearing red.

Both the lipsticks are quite pigmented. Red stays on for a good 5-6 hours while the Petal Pusher stays on for 3-4 hours since it is very creamy.

Here is it on me..

Only downside would be the price and the availability. But if you are someone who can’t deal with lipsticks or the lips get very dry, this vegan, gluten free, safe and all natural lipsticks are made for you. Purest form of lipsticks with no chemicals at all.

L’Oreal Paris Cannes Collection Glamorous Gloss,Marvellous Matte Look

L’Oreal Paris Cannes Collection Glamorous Gloss,Marvellous Matte Look

Hey guys,

If you have been following me on my twitter or Instagram, you know I had attended the L’Oreal Paris Cannes Press Con Red Carpet where 6 winners each from Team Glamorous Gloss (headed by Katrina Kaif) and Team Marvellous Matte (headed by Sonam Kapoor)  walked the red carpet with their respective team heads i.e. Sonam and Katrina.

Bloggers were also invited for a photo shoot with the stars and divided into Team Gloss and Team Matte. I was in Team Gloss.

We were sent the L’Oreal Paris Exclusive Cannes Collection a day prior and we had to create a gloss/matte look (whichever team we are in) from the collection. I got 3 L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire in 201 Rose Symphony, 202 Coral Encore and 400 Plum Quartet, L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza in Sapphire Blue, 1 L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipstick in Spring Rosette and 2 Limited Edition Special Cannes Collection Swarovski crystals studded L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipsticks in Raspberry Syrup and Arabian Night.

I was in Team Gloss, so I went with super glossy lips of course and L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire helped me achieve that look. Its a super glossy liquid lipstick. There are also three shades of gel liners in the Cannes Collection- L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza 36H in Diamond Black,Royal Blue and Sapphire Blue. Royal Blue is a gorgeous deep blue, I would have loved to try that. I got the Sapphire Blue shade which is a deep bluish black..looks more black on the eyes. But the texture and quality of these gel liners are beyond amazing. They come with a brush and I got a smooth flick with just one dip of the brush! Beat that! It is super pigmented and goes smoothly all at once. I loved their previous basic black and brown 24H gel liners too (Check the review of the Brown one HERE)

The Cannes collection includes all the existing L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipsticks and some they have launched in a new revamped Swarovski studded packaging..looks so pretty! The real Swarovski crystals on the top and bottom of the cap and then it comes with a velvet cover to protect those crystals.

LE Cannes Collection Swarovski Studded Moist Mat

I got the shade Raspberry Syrup and Arabian Nights in this new packaging and the shade Spring Rosette in the old packaging.

I showed you guys the outfit I wore to the red carpet in my previous OOTD HERE. Let’s take a closer look at the glossy makeup.

Glamorous Gloss Look
Glamorous Gloss Look

I used the L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza in Sapphire Blue on my upper and lower lash line..winged it a bit on the top. And for the lips, I went with L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipstick in Raspberry Syrup as the base and the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire in Rose Symphony on top.

Products I used for the Glamorous Gloss Look

I did not get a chance to click pics with Sonam or Katrina as they arrived late and my back had started paining by then, so I had to leave sooner.

Marvellous Matte Look

I also tried a matte look the other day..went with Sapphire Blue gel liner again but only on the lower lash line, on upper lashline normal black liner with a slight wing and the L’Oreal Paris Moist Mat Lipstick in Spring Rosette. I am so in love with this shade, my current staple and always in my bag!

Which look did you like more? Are you Team Gloss or Team Matte? Any personal favourite from the L’Oreal Paris Cannes collection? Something you want me to review first? Let me know everything in the comments below 😀

Made in Germany

Illamasqua lipsticks come in standard black packaging. With the Glamore Collection, they introduced these satin finish, non drying formula.

I absolutely love the shade Glissade and now the new favourite is Rockabilly. These are super pigmented and long staying. They stay for around 6-7 hours.

Feels super light on lips and the finish as described satin, is not completely matte, but pretty comfortable and hydrating. It goes on glossy and settles for a more matte look in an hour.

Rockabilly is described as a cherry red, it is indeed a cool toned pink based cherry red but very wearable and not over bright, though it looks more pink in the bullet in bright light here.

T- 1 swipe, B- 3 swipes

Here is it on me..

Overall, I would say the Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks are a must have! These are super pigmented, long staying, light, comfortable and have a nice range of shades. Only issues are pricing which is a bit high and the availability.

Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks Review,Swatches

Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks Review,Swatches

Hey guys, I went to the Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Collection Launch on the 16th and we got a few samples to try out. As you know, I am most excited about the lipsticks always 😀 I have been trying these out since 2 days and here is the review.

They are called Rebel Bloom in the US and Rebel Bouquet in the UK same as here in India. The collection is more about pastels but not many shades would suit the Indian skintones, so Maybelline India has selected the shades that would suit the Indian skin tones and only launched those.

Shades Available: 6 (Sadly they are named REB01 to REB06, while the ones in US have pretty names. Maybelline why you no name lipsticks? :/)

I am reviewing the shades REB01 and REB05.

It comes in the normal ColorSensational square packaging with a transaparent red cap. The labels behind are red and coral according to the shades.

It is super creamy and soft in texture and melts in contact with the skin. It has a glossy, mirror finish which will give a bit of plumping effect to your lips.

I have turned into a matte lips fan recently, and these are into the glossy category. I wish they were matte :p They are quite pigmented but you do need to go over twice for a smooth and fully opaque coverage. Also since these are very creamy, they tend to bleed and you will have to be careful while applying. But once applied, they settle after some time and then stay put.

L- REB05, R- REB01

These are not transfer proof and you will need to reapply if you are eating or drinking, can survive tea and light snacks though. But otherwise, they stay for 4-5 hours (REB05 Peach stays for 3-4 hours) and also leave behind a pretty stain which stays for sometime.

T- REB01, B- REB05

You do not need any lip balm with these, since these are super moisturising. The honey nectar takes care of your lips.

REB05 is a peachy coral shade

REB01 is an apple red shade with some very fine shimmer

And here are these on moi..

L- REB05, R- REB01

These are reasonably priced at Rs.450, though the ColorSensational ones are priced at Rs.400 and the Bold Matte at Rs.425. A 5-6% price increase is still ok, unlike the brands these days who have increased prices 30-40% for their new launches.

Overall, I would say these are glossy and moisturising texture wise, but are not transfer proof. Also, these might bleed and need a bit of careful application, but once settled, they stay put well. I loved the peachy coral REB05 and can’t wait to check out the other 4 shades. Recommended!
