New Lakme Enrich Matte Lipsticks Review, Swatches

Lakme launched the Enrich Lipsticks in a new Matte formula. Remember the Enrich Satin lipsticks in their classic maroon packaging, then they revamped the packaging to this transparent one. And now they have launched 20 shades in a matte formula.

I have 4 of these and here are my thoughts on it..

Claims: The new Lakmé Enrich Matte will be available in 20 vibrant shades, and come in a spectrum of pinks, browns, light and dark colours, all designed to match every skin tone.

These attractive new matte lipsticks are extremely comfortable to wear thanks to their creamy texture, making it the best of both worlds! Its intense colour delivery has no drag while applying and prevents from drying those luscious lips. It has Vitamin E and olive extracts to replenish the lips while hydrating them.

The transparent containers have a silver matte sleeve that even helps you distinguish between the Enrich Matte and the Enrich Satin, so you don’t mix them up in your make up bag!

They have a silver matte sleeve and I absolutely love the packaging. The Enrich Satin lipsticks are priced at Rs.260 and have 4.3g, this is matte formula plus quantity is 4.7g

They smell a little sickly sweet, exactly like the Enrich Satin Lipsticks. And also they don’t have names as usual. They are named PM, OM, WM, RM for Pink Matte, Orange Matte, Wine Matte, Red Matte, etc.

The shades are super pigmented and two swipes will even cover the most pigmented lips. They apply smooth on the lips and do not drag at all. They have a creamy matte finish which is very comfortable. It’s neither glossy nor matte like liquid matte lipsticks. It is just the formula what a matte lipstick can be.

They wear for 3-4 hours and leave behind a tint which stays for a long time, through the day. You need a good makeup remover to remove the strong stain it leaves on lips. With eating, it stays for about 3 hours, it does fade, but doesn’t go away. You will not need immediate reapplication, but once reapplied, it stays put the whole day! It does settle into fine lines though, you need to exfoliate and moisturize lips well before using.

Top: PM11, RM13
Bottom: WM10, OM11

I have the shades PM11, RM13, WM10 and OM11

PM11 is a super pretty neutral pink, this will work for all skin tones. It was slightly patchy though compared to the rest three which were super smooth.

RM13 is a deep maroon/burgundy red, it looks neutral on the lips though. A gorgeous red, must say

WM10 is a deep plum wine. It is the most unique wine shade in my stash, love this color!

OM11 is a deep rust orange, absolutely love this shade! It is super smooth and goes the creamiest.

Top: PM11, RM13
Bottom: WM10, OM11

Sorry for the Pink Matte swatch, it didn’t look so dry and patchy in person, but as I mentioned this one is not the smoothest.

I love each of the four shades and cannot  pick one favourite. I can’t wait to check out the rest of the 14 shades, especially nudes.

Except the smell, no shade names and the stain being a little difficult to remove, I have no cons.

Overall I would say Lakme killed it with this launch!! So so glad Lakme launched affordable matte lipsticks in a beautiful array of colors, can’t be happier! Kudos Lakme, absolutely highly recommend these, worth every penny.

Patanjali Divya Gulab Jal/Rose Water Review

Rose water is one common product in everyone’s skincare regime, irrespective of skin type or concerns. It is a multi-purpose product with many benefits. There so many brands offering rose water nowadays, right from budget friendly ones like Dabur, Banjaras to high- end luxury brands like Kama Ayurveda and Forest Essentials. Today’s review is about a budget friendly rose water from Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali. Read on to know whether you should go for it or not.

Product Claims:

Ingredients & Directions to use:

Price and quantity: Rs.25 for 120ml.

Packaging:

It comes in a transparent plastic bottle packaging with a pink screw cap. On opening the cap, there is an inner stopper which closes the mouth of bottle. You need to use a pin to make a hole in the stopper. But carrying it around is not a good idea as I have noticed some spillage while travelling. I now transfer some to my Fabindia spray bottle for travel purposes. One big con I didn’t like in the packaging was that all the details of the product are mentioned in hindi. Considering the fact that Patanjali products are sold all over India, I think they should start printing in English.

Texture and fragrance:

It is just like plain water in color and consistency. The fragrance is very soothing and natural of fresh roses. The ones that I used from Dabur and Banjara’s, I felt were kind of artificial. But this one has a more natural fragrance. But it is very mild and not overpowering and so won’t bother sensitive noses.

My experience:

I have been using Patanjali Rose Water in many different ways. Firstly, I use it as toner after washing my face. It hydrates my face instantly and also helps to blend in the moisturiser easily. After coming home from travelling in the hot sun, I spray some on my face. It instantly refreshes me and soothes and cools the sun-burned skin. I also used this rose water to mix my homemade face packs for extra benefits. For eyes, I soak two cotton pads in this rose water and place over my eyes and relax. It calms down irritated area under the eyes which occurs while scrubbing and also relieves puffy eyes. As I have very sensitive skin under the eyes, most of the eye creams and gels don't suit me. But this has helped to keep my under eye area well-hydrated and healthy. I haven’t faced any breakouts with Patanjali Rose Water and I feel it can be used by sensitive skin types also.

During winters, I mix few drops of glycerin to this rose water and apply all over body to nourish and moisturize dry and parched skin. Since, its very affordable I find it apt to be used on body too, unlike the expensive rose waters from higher end brands. It doesn’t give any miraculous results but then at this price point what can you expect. It is just a daily use product which helps to maintain healthy skin.

Pros:

* Light and hydrating.

* Soothing and natural fragrance.

* Can be used in multiple ways.

* Suitable for all skin types.

* Budget friendly.

Cons:

* Packaging is not travel-friendly.

Verdict: Overall, Patanjali Divya Gulab Jal is a budget friendly rose water for everyday use. It can be used in different ways for face, body and even hair. Compared to the other brands like Dabur and Banjara’s which fall under the same price range, I feel Patanjali rose water is more natural from the fragrance. I would definitely recommend all of you to give this a try.

I am using this sunscreen from the past 2 weeks now, mostly for hands and legs as it’s a body mist sunscreen. Here are my thoughts..

Claims: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen SPF 30 provides powerful protection against sun damage while leaving a weightlessly invisible feeling on your skin. Formulated with clinically-proven Helioplex® Technology, it offers superior broad-spectrum protection from skin-aging UVA rays and skin-burning UVB rays.

Neutrogena is a non-greasy, oil free fast-absorbing and water resistant sunscreen that uses Dry-Touch Technology to provide an ultra-light, non-shiny finish. This weightless formula applies easily to even hard-to-reach areas and works at any angle.

Ingredients:

It comes in this bottle with a spray nozzle, I have used spray sunscreens earlier and I thought it would be similar. I have used Avene and it was white liquid just in spray bottle. I expected this to be of the same consistency. But this is actually a watery spray.

Yes, you heard me right. It’s a watery spray just like a mist. Super easy to just spray on and blend. It is the most convenient sunscreen I have ever used. It is completely non greasy as it just like any face mist, perfect for all skin tones.

I love the soft powdery scent which lingers on for a few minutes. It is water resistant for upto 80 minutes and that’s an added bonus.

I use it on both my hands and legs. It is perfect to use for body as spray form is more convenient for body. SPF 30 sun protection might not be enough at times, and that is the only disadvantage it has. I wish they come up with SPF 50 formula in this same watery form soon.

I have no cons for this and nothing more to so, it is absolutely perfect and does what it claims, gives a weightless, clean feeling. Next time you go on a vacation and are searching for a good body sunscreen, look no further.

I have used it before and I used it again recently. Here are my thoughts on it..

I have used earlier Braun epilators like 7-7891 and I can say this is an highly improved version in every sense. Even the Silk Epil 7 was wet and dry use and I prefer epilators which can be used wet too, coz I can only bear epilation in shower.

I am mostly a waxing person but I hate going to the salons, and sometimes don’t get the time to call for salon services at home. I end up shaving whenever I have to wear a dress but then I have to keep doing it every 3-4 days. At such times, epilation comes to rescue.

This one is a ‘Skin Spa’ version, so it comes with a body cleansing/exfoliation brush too. So you can not only epilate, but also exfoliate your body and get rid of those in grown hair and dead cells, right in the shower. The exfoliation brush is super dense and the 3000 micro vibrations refine the skin’s surface and make it as soft as a baby’s bottom. It’s like a body scrub at a spa or salon.

What I do and would suggest is, first use the exfoliation brush in shower, and then change the heads, and epilate in shower. The 40% wider head has definitely cut down on the time, my Silk Epil 7 used to take much longer. You can cover more area in one go with the wider head.

I love the light, it comes very handy to catch those smaller hair. Also the speed settings can be changed according to one’s pain threshold, which again is a plus.

I personally use it only wet, I have tried using it dry and I have super sensitive skin, so it gives me bumps and redness all over which takes 2-3 days to subside. I don’t experience that many bumps when used wet and also it is much less painful.

It even comes with a shaving head, so you can even use it to shave. And two additional caps, one for trimming and one for sensitive areas like face, underarms, etc.

The only disadvantage I would say is you need to charge it each time. If you want to use both the exfoliation and epilation brush, the charge would last you just once.

I do recommend it and completely agree on it being Braun’s best epilator. But I would not suggest epilation for girls with sensitive skin or to those who have very low pain threshold. For others, definitely try this and you would not go back to any other epilator.

Today I am talking about one of the household service experts provider UrbanClap, I know there are many out there in the market currently. And also specifically for different sectors like alone for women’s salon services.

As far as the different local services providers I have tried, I can say UrbanClap comes with quality. I have tried their home salon services 1-2 times earlier.

What surprises me is the number of services they have, everything from Wedding Planning to Birthday Party Planning, Fitness, Salon Services, CA Services, Interior Designers, House Cleaning, Repairs,etc. You name it and they have it.

I wish Urbanclap was launched when I got married, booking a mehendi artist, wedding photographer is all super easy now thanks to an app like this. And not only app, even the website is very user friendly, for people who still prefer things the traditional way.

For any service you select, they ask you a few question to shortlist a particular sub-category and then they give you three options: Budget, Experienced and Premium i.e. increasing prices and then it asks for your location and personal details and you can get quotes from various different service providers.

You have the option of whether or not you want to share your phone number with the service providers, in case you do not want to, they can only contact you via the app. I like the fact that they have maintained privacy here.

Also love the fact that you get different budget options and a lot of different service providers within that budget. You can ask for their previous work and also check their ratings on the site/app and then decide which one you would like to go with. Service providers give you the best quote as they are competing with other service providers. So ultimately we get the best price and benefit from it.

I am keen on trying the Health & Wellness category next and would surely update you on how my experience goes 🙂

Overall, I quite like the ease of use of Urbanclap and how convenient it has made to reach the service providers by bridging the gap between service providers and us customers.

Ok, so it’s kind of a mixed thing this month, there is one full sized product and two deluxe samples and two small sachets.

I quite liked the O3+ Aloe Gel which is full sized. Absolutely loved the Herra Hair Perfume, I sprayed it immediately and it smells divine! Also this 10ml bottle is perfect to carry in your bag.

I love face masks and I don’t think I have come across a good deep cleansing and clearing masque in India yet. The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay one is on my wish list, but I really liked the sound of this one. Looking forward to trying this one out and it’s 50g i.e. half the size of the product which is pretty decent.

Not really a fan of the perfume sample vial or sachets, so no comments on that. I would appreciate if subscription boxes/bags totally do away with tiny samples and sachets, even considering these two brands among the products in the box is unjustified.

So for me, these three are the main products and the ones I liked and looking forward to try. The value of these products in the box comes to Rs.1175/-

June 2016 The Beauty Addict Fab Bag Unboxing & Review

So I got my June Fab Bag today and here is my unboxing and review..

I absolutely love this month’s outer box, it is so cute! It’s a black canvas cloth pouch which has makeup print and reads ‘Eat Sleep Makeup Repeat’ which is the story of my life 😀 Definitely going to use this a lot.

The theme for this month is ‘The Beauty Addict’, let’s see the contents:

  • Skin Yoga Coffee Body Scrub – Full size (Rs.845)
  • Karite Buerre Pure Shea Butter- 20g (Rs.499/- for 50g)
  • Janseen ROC Serum- Full size (Rs.2000/- for 30ml)
  • Be a Bombshell Eyeshadow Crayon in Stonehenge- Full size (Rs.1200/-)

To start with the eyeshadow crayon, I had the option to select one makeup product this month and I chose this Stonehenge shade. I saw the swatches online and liked this frosty taupy shade. Unfortunately it’s not very pigmented and also is smudge proof, definitely needs a good eyeshadow on top or else won’t stay.

Karite Buerre Pure Shea Butter sounds amazing, I was in the lookout for shea butter and glad I got this. This 20g would last really long, it’s perfect to use for cuticles, on lips, on hand and feet or even ends of hair.

Skin Yoga makes fabulous stuff and I have tried a few before, got samples mostly in subscription boxes and bags, I am so glad this is full sized. If you read the recent post on our blog about cellulite, you must be knowing how coffee scrub is amazing for cellulite. Definitely looking forward to trying this.

And finally the ROC Anti Wrinkle Serum, I love the ingredients and the brand and product are amazing, but just not for me. I don’t have wrinkles yet and I would have liked if I would have got something suited for my skin and age. Not happy with this, but I will pass this to my mom and I hope she likes it.

Overall I am quite happy with the rest of the items and that there are three full sized products and one deluxe sample this time. Surely recommend this month’s Fab Bag and the total value of the products in this month’s bag is Rs. 4250.

I hope they continue with such products every month 😀

New Maybelline Vivid Matte Lipsticks India, Price, Shades, Swatches

So ever since I saw the new Maybelline Vivid Matte Lipsticks on Habbana, about a week ago, I was itching to get my hands on them! Finally I went shopping today and saw them at Lifestyle stores.

First of all, I am not happy with the fact that only 4 shades are launched in India, same as the Rebel Bouquet, Bold Mat and Pink Alert, why only 4-5 shades get launched in India where as US has almost 10-12 in each range :/ So unfair.

They are named Vivid1 to Vivid4 but thankfully they also have names this time!

Shades:

  • Vivid1 Scarlet Red
  • Vivid2 Neon Pink
  • Vivid3 Violet Pink
  • Vivid4 Rosy Orange

MRP: Rs.475/- for 3.9g

It comes in a sheer red cap and black base packaging, all the lipsticks have the same packaging unfortunately, the base is pink and red though shade wise.

The finish is glossy which turns into semi matte exactly like the Bold Mat lipsticks. Also if you notice Vivid 1, 3 and 4 have some shimmer, so the finish is more glossy.

Vivid1 Scarlet Red is a cool toned bright red

Vivid2 Neon Pink is cool toned bright candy pink

Vivid3 Violet Pink is a deeper pink with purple undertones

Vivid4 Rosy Orange is a warm orange red.

Now both Bold Mat and Pink Alert were priced at Rs.375 when they launched, then I believe they increased it to Rs.425. I don’t know why this range is priced at Rs.475/-, coz the qty being same, the price of Rs.400-425 was just perfect for this. Not happy with the additional rise, although not much, Maybelline is supposed to be the most economical brand, and I hope it stays that way.

Vivid2 Neon Pink is I believe the shade named Fuchsia Flash in US (which is supposed to be MAC Candy Yum Yum dupe) and Vivid3 Violet Pink is the shade named Vivid Rose.

I did not find the red and orange to be very different, I liked both the pinks though, both are quite unique and fabulous. I tried both of them on me and picked up one, coz I felt one shade was pretty dupable in my stash.

Guess which one I picked 😀

The Body Shop British Rose Shower Gel, Body Scrub Review

I have been using The Body Shop British Rose Range Shower Gel and Body Scrub since quite some time now. And here is what I think of it..

What the Company claims: Exfoliating feels exquisite with this beautiful gel textured body scrub with real rose petals. Infused with the essence of roses from Britain, it effortlessly melts onto the skin and gently refines to reveal smoother, fresher skin.

Ingredients:

The Body Shop British Rose Shower Gel

What the Company claims: Awaken your skin with the irresistibly dewy scent of roses. Our cleansing Shower Gel is infused with the essence of hand-picked roses from Britain to make showering feel blooming beautiful.

– Soap-free cleanser
– Rose scented and Lather rich
– With the essence of hand-picked British roses

Ingredients:

MRP: Rs.450/- for 250ml

First of, I love the entire light pink and black packaging of this range. It looks fabulous, plus the British Rose range is so delicate and fresh.

The body scrub comes in a black tub plastic packaging. It is a gel based scrub just like the Virgin Mojito and Fuji Green Tea Ranges. It has soft brown beads for exfoliation which are walnut shell powder, as per the ingredients. And the base is water based and jelly like with a soft pink tint. The smell is amazing, not at all strong, but feminine and soft.

The scrub particles are not harsh and it leaves the skin gently exfoliated. If you expect hard core exfoliation, then this alone won’t do. I would suggest you use this body scrub with The Body Shop Exfoliating Gloves.

The shower gel comes in a transparent bottle with black flip cap. The bottle is plastic and not heavy. The shower gel is thin and runny and has a light pink tint. I absolutely love the smell of this, this smells more of ‘British Rose’ than the body scrub too. It foams well and washes off well, without leaving the skin dry.

I tried using it without loofah and you end up using a lot and it won’t foam enough. So I suggest using it only with a loofah.

This range also has a Bath Foam (if you have a bath tub at home), Body Butter, Hand Cream, Exfoliating Soap and EDT. EDT sadly was out of stock everywhere. I am definitely looking forward to try the EDT once I get my hands on it.

Overall, I would say, I absolutely love the fresh British Rose smell and this range. It is not at all strong or artificial like usual rose scented products are. You can smell the difference in the first whiff. It is soft, feminine and delicate but refreshing. Although the smell doesn’t stay for long with 1-2 products, it would if you use 3-4 products from the range together i.e. along with the body butter and EDT. Highly recommend this range!

As it’s said, if you are having a bad day, fix it up with a lipstick 😉 and when it comes to lipsticks, it’s hard to control and I end up trying every new shades and formula. Though I prefer neutral colors and remain loyal to soft pinks, browns and nudes I decided to go for a bold one this time by SUGAR COSMETICS MATTE AS HELL CRAYON LIPSTICK in No.2 MARY POPPINS and believe me it has become the most worn color of my life. PACKAGING

The lipstick crayon comes in a beautiful abstract art cardboard box with the shade name, ingredients and other information printed. As the name suggests it’s a non- retractable crayon lipstick which is black with matte finish. The bottom of the lipstick has a color coded band to depict the shade and is easy to locate in your stash. Brand and the shade name is printed in white.It has a pop up cap which fits in tightly though doesn’t close with a click .The packaging of these lipsticks is quite good, travel friendly .The tip of the crayon lipstick is pointed and sturdy. I don’t find them finishing or becoming blunt fast as they’re well pigmented. These come along with a chubby sharpener and it’s advisable to only use that to prevent product damage or wastage.

TEXTURE AND FORMULA

It’s a wax-based formulation and has soft smooth and moisturizing texture, easy to work with, glides smoothly on to the lips without tugging or pulling and settles into a matte finish without being patchy, neither do they dry up your lips But sometimes I do find it accentuating fine lines so I would recommend exfoliating and moisturizing your lips, as it will make your lips more comfortable while you have this lipstick on. It gas no peculiar smell or taste to it. I don’t find them becoming blunt fast as they’re well pigmented

PIGMENTATION

Impressive pigmentation as it only took me just one swipe to get an excellent color payoff. Color is buildable. Be very cautious in applying this as it gets difficult to get off the stain if in case it goes beyond the lip line. It does leave a stain post removal but I am okay with it.

SHADE

Mary Poppins no. 02 is an intense fuchsia color with blue undertones to it. It instantly brightens and pops up my face without having anything else on 🙂 Will look good on all skin tones from lightest to darkest.

STAYING POWER

It has good staying power. On me, it stayed on for good 5 hours with intermittent meals without any need of touchup. After that it starts loosing color from center of lips but can be fixed with a hassle free reapplication.

  • Stay on for at least 4-5 hours and the stain stays until you remove the lipstick with a makeup remover.
  • Do not dry or tug the lips but always use matte lipsticks on well exfoliated moisturized lips
  • Survive the meals easily
  • Sleek and travel friendly design
  • Tips are color coded so they are easy to store and locate.
  • Do not have any smell or taste to them.
  • Appropriate for most of Indian skin tones.
  • Does not bleed or feather out.
  • Does not contain mineral oil, parabens, paraffin, phenoxyethanols, volatile cyclomethicones (D4, D5, D6) and animal derived ingredients.
  • I love the unique and pun names given to all shades

CONS

  • The brighter shades of the lipsticks smudge after you eat a full meal. So you definitely need a lip liner underneath
  • Costly
  • Has to be sharpened that leads to product wastage but then I also understand that when the formula is this soft and creamy it’s difficult to put it in a retractable form
  • It does accentuates fine lines.

OVERALL

Overall, I am so badly obsessed with this lipstick crayon. I highly recommend it these if you are a matte lipstick lover. It is easy to apply, extremely smooth, super pigmented, stays on for long and does not make the lips uncomfortable. Price tag is a concern, but if you do not mind that, you must give it a try. The brand offers universally flattering and unique shades to try.
