We have all been new to the makeup world some time or another and learnt everything by trial and error. One thing which comes in the mind of a person new to makeup is; affordable makeup products since they haven’t mastered any techniques and hence need affordable options to experiment and learn with.
And for anyone trying their hands on eye shadows, is to get a good eye shadow primer, that should be the prime objective. An eye shadow primer acts as a base for your eye shadow, makes the pigmentation of the eye shadow more visible and helps in the staying power of the eye shadow on your lids.
However, there aren’t many affordable options available in the Indian market. When I started using eye shadows, there were barely any primers available, even the costly ones.
So, I DIY-d my very own eye shadow primer and used it for ages till I got an actual eye shadow primer from the market. Hopefully, this will help anyone new to makeup or someone who wants to save some bucks on an eye shadow primer.
It consists of basic things which we all have lying around anyways. It works the same as any eye shadow primer in the market would.
What you’ll need:
Foundation
Concealer
Body Butter or Thick Moisturizer
Empty and Clean Tub
Toothpick
Starting with, you’d want to sanitize the tub you want to keep your primer in. I have used this old lip balm tub and sanitized it. You can even buy empty tubs similar to these online.
Initially, you want to pour some foundation in the tub, the foundation is the base of the product so you should use the most of it depending on how much eye primer you want to make. I am using this Foundation by the body shop in my eye shadow primer.
Next, put in a little concealer, use it lesser than the foundation, half than how much foundation you used to be precise. It will help in adding that little brightness in your eye shadow primer. I am using this Deliplus concealer I had got from Spain.
Finally, put a bit of body butter or thick body lotion, you shouldn’t use a light/thin consistency moisturizer since it would make the consistency of your eye primer runny.
The ratio of the moisturizer/body butter should be same or teeny less than the concealer. What the moisturizer does, is to retain the moisture on your lids underneath all that eye shadow. I am using this parachute body lotion.
The ratio you want to work in is 2:1:1 that is 2 parts foundation, 1 part concealer and 1 part moisturizer.
Mix it well with the help of a toothpick and store it away well. Always use a brush to apply the product to avoid spreading any germs and always pat some powder on top of the eye shadow primer to help it not to crease.
I wouldn’t really recommend making huge batches of the eye shadow primer. Make a batch that’ll not last you more than 1-2 months. You require a really small amount for each use.
I have used this eye shadow primer for more than 8 hours and it lasted me without creasing or fading my eye makeup.
Editor’s Note: That sounds like a good eye primer. I would also recommend adding a little glycerine in place or addition to the body butter, just a tiny amount.
Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer Review, Swatches
Hi guys,
I have been trying out two new Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primers since quite a few days now and here are my thoughts on it..
What the Company claims:
What it is: A makeup primer that assists with balancing the skin’s texture and tone for smoother, more even, and longer-lasting makeup wear.
What it does: Prep skin for your makeup routine with Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primers, and address your skin concerns with this innovative makeup primer. Perfect for balancing skin and achieving an ideal makeup result, it’s lightweight and creamy, leaving a more evenly-toned appearance, and increases foundation’s hold. This primer for all skintones leaves makeup looking fresh for hours while it hydrates, firms, and smooths the look of the skin.
Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer is available in 10 formulas to target every texture and tone concern:
Texture: Mattifying Primer reduces shine for oily skin. Smoothing Primer evens the skin’s texture. Hydrating Primer preps normal skin and restores balance. Nourishing Primer moisturizes and comforts. Redness Correcting Primer neutralizes.
Tone: Radiant Primer Blue adds radiance to light skin. Radiant Primer Pink adds radiance to light to medium skin. Radiant Primer Yellow adds radiance to light to medium skin. Radiant Primer Peach adds radiance to medium to tan skin. Radiant Primer Caramel adds radiance to dark skin.
If you’re not sure where to start, try the Smoothing and Hydrating Primers.
“Like painters, who need a perfectly smooth, even-colored, and flawless canvas, makeup artists require even-toned and smooth skin for an optimal and professional makeup result.”—Dany Sanz, MAKE UP FOR EVER Founder and Creative Director
MAKE UP FOR EVER’S exclusive Equalizer Technology features Acti Tensor 3D, Hyaluronic Acid, and Regeactive, which help to hydrate, firm, and smooth the skin to create the perfect makeup canvas.
MRP: Rs.3300/- for 30ml
Suggested Usage:
-Before applying makeup to skin, dab a quarter size amount with fingertips or sponge in a downward motion.
-Customize your results by mixing texture and tone formulas.
-Combine redness correcting or radiant primers before mattifying or smoothing, or you hydrating or smoothing primers can be combined before redness correcting or radiant primers.
-Finish with your favorite foundation.
I have the Smoothing one and the Radiant Blue one. It comes in a small handy tube packaging with a nozzle dispensor which dispenses just the right amount of product.
The Smoothing one is tinted and is more silicony and thick while the Radiant Blue one has a blue tint of course, but is a little more liquidy and runny.
The Radiant Blue one is made in France while the Smoothing one is made in Japan, as you can see here. I believe they have strict quality control standards.
Both are quite easy to apply and use and give a nice, smooth canvas for the foundation to work on. The Radiant Blue one gives a soft blue tint which makes the skin looks brighter with the foundation too. While the Smoothing one, completely smoothes out the pores and fine lines. Even on the hand swatch when blended the Smoothing one, it gave a flawless look and blurred out all the fine lines.
If you have a lot of pores and fine lines on the face, I would definitely suggest the Smoothing one. If you have very oily skin, then the Mattifying one is perfect for you and Hydrating one is amazing for dry skin. I have seen a lot of my favourite YouTubers who have dry skin, use and love the Hydrating one.
If I have to pick one from the two, I like the Smoothing one a little more for the flawless finish it gives to my skin.
These are a little expensive but you just need a little bit for each use. And Make Up For Ever products do come with a heavy price tag, but also offers great quality.
I definitely recommend these! If you are not into color correcting, then Smoothing/Mattifying/Hydrating ones are worth a try!
Sadly MUFE is only available at Sephora currently, so you can only get it in Delhi, Mumbai & Bangalore or you can pick them up when you are travelling.
Have you tried the new MUFE Step 1 Skin Equalizers yet?
So it’s been quite some time I am playing with a few new launches by MAC Cosmetics. I also created a look with few of their new launches. And here are my thoughts on it..
MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liner
What the Company claims: A kohl-like liner that’s sultry, seductive and a little bit scandalous. The easy-glide formula makes this pencil a one-stroke wonder with a silky, soft texture perfect for rimming the sensitive waterline. Its colour intensity and extreme depth creates a look with unparalleled impact. The long-wearing, waterproof formula locks in your look for hours.
Features an extremely soft, gliding, creamy formula
Features excellent and even colour payoff
Features a high-coverage formula
Long-wearing, ten hours
Smudge-resistant
Transfer-resistant
Waterproof
Ophthalmologist tested
Safe for contact lens wearers
Usage: Apply to lid directly (can also be used in the waterline). Once twisted up, this product will not twist back down.
MRP: Rs.990
Shades Available: 13
I have the shade New Marine which is a cool toned emerald green with a pearly finish. The Modern Twist Kajal glides on pretty smooth and do not tug or pull. These are super pigmented and with two swipes would give a perfect, opaque line. These are water proof as well as smudge proof but need a good makeup remover to take it off. On the upper lashline, they stay put almost whole day, however on the waterline, they do fade away after 6-7 hours which is still pretty good.
They retract only one way, so be careful and do not retract the entire pencil. As we are used to two way retracting pencils, this is a disadvantage as one has to be extra cautious or the entire pencil will go waste.
They have a beautiful n*de shade called ‘Nothing On’ which is a perfect nude for the waterline. I am eyeing that one.
Overall I would say these are definitely worth a try.
MAC Versicolour Stain
What the Company claims: A liquid lip colour that’s the ultimate fusion of gloss and stain. The ultimate fusion of gloss + stain in one fluid formula that melts onto lips for a full-on glassy shine that lasts and lasts and lasts. Infused with emollient oils, its creamy, lightweight texture stays bright, lustrous and so comfortable without ever cracking or peeling. Like an energy shot for your lips, a range of resilient hues live long into the day (and night).
Long-wearing, eight hours
Shine wears for eight hours
Provides stay-true colour
Features a comfortable formula
Features a jelly-like texture
Provides a super-glossy shine
Dermatologist tested
Usage: Apply directly to lips with doe foot applicator. As with many lip stains, lips might feel slightly dry over time. If desired, prep lips with a lightweight lip balm or our Prep + Prime Lip. Product not recommended for use on overly dry or sensitive lips. For optimal lip definition, use with Lip Pencil or Pro Longwear Lip Pencil.
MRP: Rs.1800 for 8.5ml
Shades Available: 16
As rightly described, Veriscolour Stain is a mix of lip gloss and lip stain. It looks and feels like a lip gloss and is pigmented and long staying like a lip stain. It comes with a doe foot applicator. The packaging is basic black with transparent see through part in between to identify the colour.
It is jelly like in texture and goes on like a lip gloss. The only disadvantage is that it might smear and smudge since it is very pigmented and liquidy/runny. I love the pigmentation and staying power, although doesn’t stay 8 hours, but stays a decent 4-4.5 hours on me. It is not transfer proof though, so will fade away with a full meal, it leaves behind a pretty stain.
These are slightly expensive at Rs.1800 but it’s an innovative product. If you like lip glosses and prefer them to be more pigmented and long staying which leave a nice stain behind, you will love this.
I have the shade Preserving Passion which is a nice, deep wine berry colour.
MAC Zac Posen Collection
I have the Haute Contour from the MAC Zac Posen Collection which is a powder blush-bronzer duo. The packaging is very sturdy and it comes with a nice mirror.
What the Company claims: A powder blush duo to achieve the sculpted look seen in Zac Posen’s runway shows.
MRP: Rs. 2800 for 10g
The bronzer is medium brown with warm orange-yellow undertones and the blush is a medium coral pink with gold shimmer. I don’t have much to say about this, there is no pigmentation in the product. You have to go over at least 6-7 times for some colour to show up on your skin. The bronzer is still better but the blush gives no colour sadly. Disappointed with this, do not recommend.
MAC Flamingo Park Collection
I have a lipstick and a cremesheen glass from this collection.
MRP: Rs.1450 for lipstick and Rs.1650 for cremesheen glass
The lipstick in Flocking Fabulous is a bright coral red and is a mix of cremesheen + pearl finish and Such Sweeties is a pastel baby pink. There are 9 other lipsticks in this collection and 5 cremesheen glass.
The lipstick is bright and pigmented, goes on smooth and is very comfortable on the lips. It has a glossy finish but the glossiness settles down after some time. It stays put for a decent 4-5 hours without meal. The cremesheen glass is completely non sticky and very smooth to apply. It is not that pigmented and needs a base like a lipliner or lipstick below. I used it as it is and it doesn’t look very flattering as it does not cover pigmented lips.
I had used this lipglass in my blue smokey eyes tutorial HERE
It has a doe foot wand and a nice, warm vanilla smell.
Absolutely love the lipstick, the cremesheen glass is pretty nice but with a base colour.
Here I have used the Modern Twist Kajal in New Marine, I went for the half and half eyeliner look with half being green and half black, and also used it on the waterline. I have also used Haute Contour which is not much visible coz of the pigmentation and the Preserving Passion Stain.
Excuse my under eyes, I should have used an orange corrector, but I was in a hurry that day as had to leave for an event.
Overall I would definitely recommend the Modern Twist Kajal and Versicolour Stains. Also if you can get your hands on Flocking Fabulous, some lipsticks and cremesheen glass shades are ‘fabulous’ 😀
MAC Retro Matte Lipstick Flat Out Fabulous Review, Swatches
By Linda
Hello all you beauties out there,
Today’s review is all about a beautiful bold shade from MAC ‘Retro Matte’ collection called Flat Out Fabulous. While I was on my regular window shopping to MAC stores I noticed this bold fuschia pink matte shade with a purple undertone in it , so headed straight to try it on. I was literally dying to buy this lipstick but then was reluctant, as I was under the impression of bold colors were only for very fair skin tones (cool tone). But thanks to my friend who observed my desire and gifted this shade to me(how sweet of her) . Now since I have this shade lets go head and know more about it.
What MAC Claims: Bright plum matte shade. With Retro Matte finish. Apply directly on to lips.
Packaging
This lipstick is packed in a carton which has a list of ingredients on it. It does come in one of the Classic MAC matte black and silver lipstick container with the shade mentioned at the bottom.
Cost: Rs 1450 /- for 3g
My take on Flat Out Fabulous Lipstick
As we know matte lipsticks tend to give us a dry texture to our lips, it wasn’t in this case. This lipstick glided smoothly on to the lips giving a polished finish with minimal swipes. I have lips that are dry and tend to get chapped easily hence I prefer prepping my lips by exfoliating, well moisturizing and then by applying the lipstick. It’s your personal choice if you need a primer for a longer stay put .A lip balm will be handy in case it tugs into your lips.
This shade is so well pigmented that you don’t require multiple swipes and at the same time gives an even distribution of shade on the lips. To maintain or to increase the intensity of color, you can go for multiple swipes and retouch every 4-5 hours. Inspite of drinking and eating you will notice the lipstick won’t wear off easily. It stains to such an extent that you need a makeup remover to take off the lipstick completely, incase if you need to. Be careful not to stain your clothes accidentally as its going to be a hard stain to take off.
Since this is a bold color your base makeup has be very neat and subtle as this shade will stand out so beautifully that everyone will notice your lips first (wink wink). I have a fair to medium skin tone and this shade looked amazing on me. In the picture attached I did not use a lip liner as it doesn’t even bleed .I researched whether it suited other skin tones and yes it looks amazing on other skin tones also, even on our dusky skin beauties. What I can suggest is before you purchase this shade please try it on yourself rather than judging the shade by just looking at it. Lipsticks tend to look different on different skin tones. Try it on see how it looks on you.
You can wear this shade for a day or an evening event (depending on the place and type of event) .I prefer wearing this shade for any weddings, parties or while I go clubbing with my friends. Personally I’m a non matte lipstick lover but once I seen the end results of this lipstick, I was totally in love with it.
Pros
Travel friendly
Amazing pigmentation
Lasts for 6-7 hours
Suits most of the skin tones.
Glides on smoothly
Does not bleed.
Cons
Stain could be a problem for some of them.
I cannot think any other cons, please let me know if you have any.
Rating: 5/5 (For texture, shade and the finish on your lips)
Would I recommend Flat Out fabulous Mac Lipstick? Yes definitely I would, if you are bored of a classic red lipstick, try this bold shade.
Editor’s Note: I absolutely love this shade, I am surely trying this out on myself at MAC store next time.
Have you tried the MAC Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous? Your favourite Retro Matte shade is?
Here I am back with yet another post. With the advent of so many online shopping sites at our disposal makeup and skincare has become a rage. We are aware of the best of high end as well as drug store makeup products. Even the brands which are not available in India are on our fingertips. But many of us can’t get access to those brands. So, what to do in that situation?? Worry not here I am with some of the dupes of high end makeup products. These are the products which are not that easily available in India.
What’s Similar : Both of them come with a tapered brush which gives an edge to the lashes. They help in separating and elongating the lashes.
What’s Not : Dior mascara comes with a quick dry formulation which turns the lashes thick in some time.
2. Benefit High Beam (INR 2665) vs E.L.F. Essential Shimmering Facial Whip (INR 85) –
What’s Similar : Both of these highlighters have a gorgeous, pink sheen which gives a very younger looking dewy skin.
What’s Not : The E.L.F facial whip comes in a tube packaging which is very easy to use. But the finish of the E.L.F. one is very shimmery which is not perfect for day time usage.
What’s Similar : Both of them have highly pigmented 10 metallic and 2 matte shades.
What’s Not : MUA shades are slightly chalky. Also, the UD brush applicator is from cruelty free collection; whereas the MUA brush looks pretty cheap.
4. MAC Prep & Prime (INR 3200) vs Rimmel Stay Matte Primer (INR 1250)
What’s Similar : Both come in similar matte finish which helps the makeup stay longer. Also, they form a smooth base for the skin in order to prep it with the foundation after that.
What’s Not : MAC Prep & Prime stays on for much longer than the Rimmel one. But the Rimmel one is a bit more moisturising than the MAC one. MAC one is meant only for the oily skinned beauties.
5. MAC Ruby Woo (INR 1500) vs Rimmel Kate Matte lipstick in Kiss of life 111 (INR 500)
What’s Similar : Both are deep red with blue undertones in them.
What’s Not : RUBY WOO is very matte with slightly drying formula whereas Rimmel one is a bit moisturising. Also, once ruby woo sets it is impossible to smear.
What’s Similar : Both come in the form of a pen packaging. The formula is creamy which targets to brighten the under eye area.
What’s Not : YSL has a huge shade option of 10 whereas Maybelline has only 3 shade options. Also, touché éclat has limited coverage as compared to the Maybelline one.
7. Smashbox Photofinish Primer (INR 5625) vs NYX Studio Perfect Photo Loving Primer (INR 2450)
What’s Similar : Both help in minimizing the appearance of pores and filling them. This makes the makeup look refined and smooth. Even the ingredient list of both of them are somewhat identical.
What’s Not : The Smashbox one makes face greasy after some time. Whereas the NYX one ensures that your makeup stays perfect even by the end of the day.
8. Beautyblender (INR 1999) vs Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (INR 380)
What’s Similar : Both of them are designed in an ergonomic manner to give your foundation a much more even finish.
What’s Not : The Real Techniques one has flat end which makes the application around the eye area easier. Whereas the beautyblender blends foundation way better and quicker that the other one.
9. MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (INR 2800) vs Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (INR 195)
What’s Similar : Both of them are so finely milled that excess product also will not make your face look ashy or powdery.
What’s Not : Rimmel one is a bit drying as compared to the MAC one. In winters you cannot use the Rimmel one even with a moisturiser underneath as it will accentuate your pores and cause dry flakes on your face.
What’s Similar : Both of them have similar ingredient list and thus the formula is similar.
What’s Not : The MoroccanOil Treatment is more moisturising for dry hair. It imparts shine and lustre much more than the Organix One.
These were my list of high end makeup dupes. Let me know if you like the post in the comments down below. Also, let me know any other high end dupes you have come across in your makeup journey.
Editor’s Note: That was a very nice list Pallavi. I would like to add two more. Sleek MakeUP Blush in Rose Gold and Makeup Geek Blush in Romance are the dupes of Nars Orgasm Blush! And the Maybelline Gel Liner Black has the exact same formula at less than quarter the price of Bobbi Brown Gel liner Black Ink.
Maybelline India Blushed Nudes Palette Review, Swatches, Tutorial
Hi guys,
I have been playing with The Blushed Nudes Palette and also created this look you see here.
What the Company claims: With all the things you’ll love about the new Blushed Nudes Palette, here are a few more:
– 12 rose-gold infused shades
– Easily blend-able
– Creates countless looks
– Compliments every skin tone
MRP: Rs.899/- for 9g
They have 13 different eye shadow combinations given behind, same like in the original Nudes, and that’s a very interesting idea. I can’t wait to try some of these looks.
The packaging of the palette is exactly like the original Nudes Palette and the pricing is also the same. It comes with a small applicator which has a sponge tip on one side and a brush on one side. The brush is pretty good for using in the inner corners or highlighting brow bone.
The palette is quite handy and small to carry along. It does not come with a mirror sadly, I would have loved a mirror.
The original Nudes Palette had all warm shades and more of browns, this palette has more pinks and grays and all cool toned shades. While the original Nudes Palette was supposed to pretty similar shades wise to the Urban Decay Naked Palette, this one the Blushed Nudes is very close shade wise to the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.
If you follow me on Snapchat (bhumika_t), you must have seen a comparision of this palette with the same one in US and the shades are quite different, a lot of you took screenshot of that image coz the palette was quite different. I believe the US palette has more pinks and mauves and lighter shades and those shades might not show up on all Indian skintones, so they kept more of greys and darker shades in the Indian palette.
There are mostly satin finish shades, with one deep plum shade being shimmery and there are two mattes. One is a greyish taupe shade which is not that pigmented and the other is a matte white shade which is pretty decent.
Most of the shades are pretty pigmented while few are not that good and need a lot of layering for the colors to show up. But they stay on pretty good throughout the day once applied, more longer with a primer. They do not crease but the finish is not as fresh and slightly fade at the end of the day.
Here are the swatches:
TOP ROW:
The top row has all whites, peaches and pinks
BOTTOM ROW:
The bottom row has greys, taupes and purples.
I created this pink smokey eye look with this palette..
Overall I would say, this is a decent palette and worth checking out. We do not have many palette options available in India, and hardly any cool toned or pink-gray based. For the price, this is definitely pretty good. I do recommend this.
I hope you liked the look, do let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

New & Improved Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliners Review, Swatches
Hi guys,
I have reviewed some of the Avon Glimmersticks variants before, today I am reviewing their new and improved Glimmersticks, they have improved the formula and here are my thoughts
What the Company claims: All New Formula, Bolder Color in One stroke, Continuous Waterproof Lines whole day
MRP: Rs. 329/- for 0.28g (For Rs.259 currently) (Available online on Nykaa)
Shades available:
Emerald Green
Blackest Black
Cosmic Brown
Majestic Plum
Starry Night Blue
They do keep adding shades or some Limited Edition shade for a new collection, they had added Textured Teal and Nocturnal, two new shades in 2012 with their Urban Jungle Collection, I have reviewed the Nocturnal shade HERE
They have a lot of different ranges in Glimmersticks, there is Ultra Brights (Reviewed HERE), Diamonds (more shimmery), Cosmic, Liqui- Glide, Flick eyeliner. And then there are Lip Liners and Brow Definers.
The pencils have color coordinated base which makes them easier to identify. I always prefer retractable pencils as I do not like wastage of product with sharpeners.
I can definitely notice the better formula in the first stroke, they were always easy to glide on and use, these are even more pigmented! I have mentioned in my earlier review how they use to break and are very soft, this time they didn’t break much. As you see in this swatch, the black broke a bit while swatching, but they are definitely more firmer.
They are easy to glide on and you get the required pigmentation in one stroke. I have the shades Blackest Black, Emerald, Majestic Plum and Starry Night Blue.
They stayed on for a good whole day on my upper lashline, for about 5-6 hours on my lower lashline and 3-4 hours on my waterline. I have very watery eyes, so I am still very impressed with the staying power. On the upper lashline, it just didn’t budge unless I took it off with a good makeup remover at the end of the day.
I definitely suggest checking these out, and for the price, they are total value for money! I would recommend these over some of the other new launches which just break and you end up sharpening the entire pencil with a complete waste of product!
The only con with these was they were available only through Avon reps, but now you get them online too, on Nykaa, etc. Though you cannot use the current offers and discounts as these websites have fixed prices.

Maybelline Dream Sun Triple Bronzing Powder Review, Swatches
By Linda
Hi all you lovely ladies out there,
This review is of a bronzer that I got from a drug store it’s called Maybelline Dream Sun Triple Bronzing Powder. So let’s go ahead and find out how this product worked for me
Product description as per the Maybelline website:
For instant natural looking, sun kissed perfection. Three multi-tonal bronzing shades create your unique sun kissed look, all year-round. For Best results: Use a brush, sweep over where the sun normally hits your face. This bronzer is available in 2 shades Blonde 1, Brunette 2.
Price: 2.5 Kuwaiti Dinars (approx 8 dollars) for 16 g
Shelf life: 24 months after opening
Ingredients:
My experience with Maybelline Dream Sun Triple Bronzing Powder:
I was looking for a product that could give me a natural glow and at the same time could also serve the purpose of a contour and highlight to the face. While at work I always prefer looking fresh and natural, so in that case I stick to matte products and avoid products that have glitter and shimmer. As I came across Maybelline Dream Sun Triple Bronzer Powder, I instantly realized this would serve the purpose I’m looking for. I have a fair-medium skintone hence shade Brunette 2 was a perfect match.
The packaging is so sleek and convenient, that it can easily slip into your mini purse/pouch or bag. The container is plastic with a lid that is detachable (Be careful not to lose the lid).Only drawback is it doesn’t have an applicator and a mirror built in.
The best thing about this product is, it has 3 shades in one container. You can either combine all the shades using the brush by swiping it around the sides of your face [i.e. from ends of your forehead to the check bones and then to the jaw line], or you can use a single shade as per your requirement for a contour and highlight. If you are in a hurry, you can easily apply this product with your fingers, since it blends effortlessly. If you need an intense color, you can apply it with a damp beauty blender. During the day time I use it dry and trustme it looks so natural that you can even go without a blush. While using this product ,I realized it’s not a 100% matte bronzer, it does have tiny amount of shimmer but good enough to give you that sun kissed look as its claimed in the product description. I always do a retouch after 4-5 hours of application, due to my oily skin.
Below are the swatches of 3 shades. I had to do multiple swatches for the shade to reflect on the pictures.
Pros
Easily bendable.
Can be used both wet and dry.
Travel friendly (sleek packaging)
Quantity lasts for a long time.
Can be used for contouring and highlighting.
Affordable.
Good pigmentation (can be used as an eye shadow too).
Cons
Availability
No provision of an applicator and a mirror
Needs a retouch for sure.
Rating: 4/5 (availability may be an issue)
Would I recommend Maybelline Dream Sun Triple Bronzing Powder? Yes definitely I would recommend especially for someone looking for a product that is affordable and multipurpose.
Editor’s Note: I absolutely love this, I wish it was available in India! Nice review Linda and welcome to team NLM 🙂
Have you tried the Maybelline Dream Sun Triple Bronzing Powder? Is it available in your country?
Lakme launched the Enrich Lipsticks in a new Matte formula. Remember the Enrich Satin lipsticks in their classic maroon packaging, then they revamped the packaging to this transparent one. And now they have launched 20 shades in a matte formula.
I have 4 of these and here are my thoughts on it..
Claims: The new Lakmé Enrich Matte will be available in 20 vibrant shades, and come in a spectrum of pinks, browns, light and dark colours, all designed to match every skin tone.
These attractive new matte lipsticks are extremely comfortable to wear thanks to their creamy texture, making it the best of both worlds! Its intense colour delivery has no drag while applying and prevents from drying those luscious lips. It has Vitamin E and olive extracts to replenish the lips while hydrating them.
The transparent containers have a silver matte sleeve that even helps you distinguish between the Enrich Matte and the Enrich Satin, so you don’t mix them up in your make up bag!
They have a silver matte sleeve and I absolutely love the packaging. The Enrich Satin lipsticks are priced at Rs.260 and have 4.3g, this is matte formula plus quantity is 4.7g
They smell a little sickly sweet, exactly like the Enrich Satin Lipsticks. And also they don’t have names as usual. They are named PM, OM, WM, RM for Pink Matte, Orange Matte, Wine Matte, Red Matte, etc.
The shades are super pigmented and two swipes will even cover the most pigmented lips. They apply smooth on the lips and do not drag at all. They have a creamy matte finish which is very comfortable. It’s neither glossy nor matte like liquid matte lipsticks. It is just the formula what a matte lipstick can be.
They wear for 3-4 hours and leave behind a tint which stays for a long time, through the day. You need a good makeup remover to remove the strong stain it leaves on lips. With eating, it stays for about 3 hours, it does fade, but doesn’t go away. You will not need immediate reapplication, but once reapplied, it stays put the whole day! It does settle into fine lines though, you need to exfoliate and moisturize lips well before using.
I have the shades PM11, RM13, WM10 and OM11
PM11 is a super pretty neutral pink, this will work for all skin tones. It was slightly patchy though compared to the rest three which were super smooth.
RM13 is a deep maroon/burgundy red, it looks neutral on the lips though. A gorgeous red, must say
WM10 is a deep plum wine. It is the most unique wine shade in my stash, love this color!
OM11 is a deep rust orange, absolutely love this shade! It is super smooth and goes the creamiest.
Here are the shades on me..
Sorry for the Pink Matte swatch, it didn’t look so dry and patchy in person, but as I mentioned this one is not the smoothest.
I love each of the four shades and cannot pick one favourite. I can’t wait to check out the rest of the 14 shades, especially nudes.
Except the smell, no shade names and the stain being a little difficult to remove, I have no cons.
Overall I would say Lakme killed it with this launch!! So so glad Lakme launched affordable matte lipsticks in a beautiful array of colors, can’t be happier! Kudos Lakme, absolutely highly recommend these, worth every penny.

Have you tried the new Lakme Enrich Matte Lipsticks?
Easy Blue Smokey Eyes Makeup Tutorial | Drugstore | Indian Makeup
Hi guys,
I created this easy blue smokey eyes using just two products i.e. Maybelline Sapphire Blue Colorsensational 3D Eyeshadow Palette and Colorbar Eyeshadow Crayon in Moss.
I liked this Maybelline Palette but they do need a base eyeshadow/pencil for the colors to show up. The highlight shade was pretty good, black one had a lot of fall out though.
I love this Colorbar eyeshadow crayon and these are fabulous even on their own when you don’t want an all out look but some nice color and definition.
