December 2015 ‘The Party All Night’ Fab Bag Review

So I just now received the December Fab Bag and let me tell you it one of their best bags! One of my personal favourites.

It’s ‘The Party All Night’ edition for the party season this month. They had an option to choose one bag of our choice of all the previous bags of 2015 and one product of our choice.

I went with this black heart bag which was their February Valentine’s Special since I did not have this one. And the product I chose is the Spa Ceylon Jasmine Face Masque as I had received the Foot Scrub from Spa Ceylon in October and I wanted to try out this masque.

Products in the bag:

  • Spa Ceylon White Jasmine Facial Masque -50g (Full size: Rs.2150/- for 100g)
  • Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Lip Crayon- Full size (Rs.799/-)
  • Bioderma Sensibio H2O 10ml sample (Rs.599/- for 100ml)
  • Kronokare The Frizz Kiss Cooling Explosion Lip Balm-Full size (Rs.95/-)
  • Aayush Headache Naashak Roll on 2ml bottle (Full size Rs.195/- for 10ml)

They have included Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Lip Crayon which I have reviewed HERE. The full sized one! That itself is priced at Rs.799/- plus it’s own sharperner. I already had the wine shade i.e. Poison Ivy and I was hoping and praying that I do not receive that, they are sending any one of the four shades at random. I really wanted to check out the Holly Golightly i.e. the nude shade as I do not own a nude lip crayon yet.

Another interesting product is the Kronokare Cooling Explosion Lip Balm which is in tube form and has a slanted applicator to directly use on lips and is in the form of clear jelly, but has a strong peppermint smell and as soon as you apply it, you actually feel the cooling explosion on the lips for about 10 minutes. It also claims to be used as a lip primer before using lipsticks, will test that out. But for now, I am really liking it coz my lips are so chapped that they hurt.

I loved the ingredients of the Spa Ceylon White Jasmine Facial Masque and immediately used it. I have this mask and the Kronokare lip balm ON right now while I review the bag 😀 I will do a complete, separate review of the masque after using it a few times.

A Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water 10ml sample. (Read complete review HERE) This is good to carry for travel but once opened, entire pack needs to be used as you cannot store and 10ml is good for 2-3 uses. But it’s a really nice makeup remover, so good to try out if you haven’t yet, be careful around the eye area though.

I have the Aayush Headache Naashak 10ml full size roll on and it is really good for headaches during cold, congestion and feels quite relieving, this small 2ml roll on is perfect to carry along.

Some also received a Clovia scarf, I am not sure if this bonus product is added randomly or how.

Overall, I have either used all the products in the bag and loved them or really wanted to try them. It’s a full value for money bag this time!! Definitely recommend getting the December bag, your Sugar Cosmetics Lip Crayon will only cover the cost of the bag for you. And for me the Spa Ceylon Jasmine Masque is also about Rs.1075/- additionally. Total value of the products comes to around Rs.2070/- plus the bag for the price of Rs.699/- 🙂

Totally worth it.

You know the time when you have been out in the sun for a long, long time and terrible tanned and have an important meeting or event to attend! Well, aren’t those the terrible days,especially when you have a t-shirt or hair band tan line.

Fret not, coz now we have one innovative product which can help us in such SOS cases! Today I am reviewing the new Spinz Sun-Tan Remover Instant De-Tan Cream.

You just need to use a good 9g of this product as a mask, massage it a bit on the skin in small,circular motions and keep it for about 5-10 minutes and wash off. You can use it daily too, untill your skin is completely de-tanned or may be on a regular basis if you are someone who has to be in the sun almost daily, like if you have a job that requires you to travel a lot or you are in college.

It comes in different packaging from a one time sachet to a tube. The tube has white and purple packaging. It is a thick white cream,with an artificial scent but thank goodness, it is quite mild unlike bleaches.

Bleaches are something which burn my eyes instantly and my eyes turn red, even if I have used the mildest beach and the minutest quantity. I am glad this is a ‘No Bleach’ cream, did not burn my eyes and no strong bleach smell too.

The key ingredients of this cream are milk,lemon and honey. Lemon and the lactic acid in milk are especially known to de-tan the skin. Also, honey keeps the skin pH balanced and moisturised. It is dermatologically tested and safe for all skin types.

These pics are from the first time use and I notice some brightness on the skin in one use itself, though I was not very tanned to see a major difference.

Remember, this is NOT a daily wear moisturising cream which will blend into your skin. This is a mask which needs to be washed off after 5-10 minutes and is only used in this way.

You will feel a slight tingling sensation but that is very mild.

Now my skin is such that it takes months and months for the sun tan to completely go away. I saw a marked improvement with the first use,and a little better result on the 2nd and 3rd day. I am quite happy with the product.

If you have to attend a wedding, use it some time before you get ready for the function. And you can pair you fresh de-tanned skin with a pretty anarkali or a net saree with gold eyes and fuchsia/red lips.

Few things to remember:

  • Do not keep it longer than 10 minutes
  • Do not go out in the sun immediately after using it
  • Do not use a face wash/soap for 6 hours

Ingredients:

To start with, I know the tube has a big spelling error ‘Daed Sea’ but it is all natural and manmade and I guess it is made in a smaller batch and through small time artisans for packing,etc.

The Dead Sea of Jordan is supposed to be very good for skin with all the minerals and salts present in it. The main base ingredient in this mask is the dead sea soil. It is infused with the goodness of aloe vera and clay.

Now clay helps clean and tighten pores and controls oil production on the skin. Aloe Vera of course soothes and moisturises the skin.

It comes in a tube form and is a large tube. The mask is ash grey in color and clay like in texture but is a bit runny. Even though you shake the tube well before dispensing, it is runny and you have to be careful to not get excess product which usually happens with this one.

It is smooth to apply and does not tug since it is quite runny. I keep the mask for 15-20 minutes, though it dries completely in 10 minutes.

And while washing off, like I do with all face masks, I scrub the skin a bit with the mask. My skin feels fresh,renewed and tight. I even saw a difference in break outs with its regular usage, though when you stop using this for a long time in between, break outs start again.

I agree it is on the expensive side, but then it is all natural and made with dead sea. And also this tube is like huge and it will last a good time.

So yesterday night I had a sleepover with The Body Shop! Not literally :p But, the lovely people at The Body Shop had sent a surprise box and a letter for a sleepover. That’s all I knew, coz the box and letter was to be opened only when they told us the sleepover would be, and it was yesterday night.

As I read the letter first, I had to rip apart the box immediately, I couldn’t contain my excitement looking at all the cute stuff. See what all I got:

It is white in color and gel-like in texture, feels bouncy indeed, difficult to get the product with hands. It comes with a small, white spatula. I used 2 small spatulas and massaged the product on the skin the same way as in the video. I let it absorb on the skin while I enjoyed my hot chocolate 🙂

Here is a picture of me with the mask on and the ‘After‘ is the morning ‘just washed with water’ face. The difference in light is due to night time and day time light. Also, you can see the shine on the face in the pic with the mask as it was still getting absorbed.

My skin indeed felt softer,hydrated and smoother. There was no dryness or stretchiness and skin looked refreshed.

I like the fact that it comes with a spatula which makes it hygienic and easy to get the product. But it comes in a heavy glass jar, so it is not exactly travel friendly.

I was very happy with the ‘Sleepover’ idea and the kit, one of the best ideas by The Body Shop. Also, this is one of the best kits I have ever received from a brand.

I actually slept very peacefully yesterday after ages, I don’t know what exactly worked for me, but no nightmares haunting me (Which has been happening since a lot of days, the same old ‘accident’ scenes) and I slept for a long,long time 😀

Thank you The Body Shop for the kit and the sleepover idea.

I loved the mask and I am going to continue using it, would update you guys.

September My Envy Box Review

We have a new sleeker packaging, I got a coral pink box (no idea why its looking fuchsia here:/with gold symbol embossing on the top. I love it, smaller, sturdier and pretty. And few got a shiny pouch inside. I wanted that shiny one :/

What I got in my box:

  • Chloe Roses De Chloe Perfume vial 1.5ml- If you love roses, you should absolutely try this!
  • ZA Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream– Its an anti aging one, which I already have full sized. But I feel not everyone needs an anti aging product, they should not send it in all boxes and start customizing boxes.
  • Bottega Di Lungavita Vita Age In Face Scrub 5ml- I have tried 1-2 Bottega Di Lungavita products and liked those. Looking forward to try this scrub. The cost of the whole pack is just Rs.790/-. Its not that expensive and I was expecting minimum 3 small 5ml tubes of it
  • L’Occitane Creme Allegee Almond Shaping Delight– 2 sachets of 8ml each- This is a good quantity of 16ml but when it is expected to firm your body, you can hardly use it once and not expect/see any results.
  • Thalgo Cryodetox Mask 5ml- Again only one single tube of 5ml. 2 would have been better.

Overall I felt it was pretty ok. The quantity in samples was quite less, we could have had 2-3 mini tubes if there are 5ml tubes only. One needs minimum 10-15ml product to try it properly or judge if it works for them. Also, I have no idea when will they include makeup samples which is being promised since a long long time.
