Top 6 Matte Pink Lipsticks under Rs.500 in India | Swatches | Giveaway

Hi guys,

I love pink lipsticks and I love matte lipsticks, so it was only fair that I do the Top 6. Now I didn’t feature Colourpop and all those brands that are not easily available and not within the budget of Rs.500.

From my favourites, I managed to pick not 5 but 6 beautiful matte pink shades, all under 500. So here goes..

1. Maybelline Vivid Matte Lipstick Vivid 2 – Rs.475/- (Buy HERE)

It’s a bright neon candy pink shade, would work for fair to medium skin tones. Keep the rest of the makeup minimal with just a winged liner when you wear such a bright pink shade

2. Lakme Enrich Matte Lipstick PM 11- Rs.295/- (Buy HERE)

PM 11 is one of my favourites, this range has some pretty good shades and very affordable at Rs.295. It’s a neutral pink that will work for all skin tones, especially fair to medium

3. Elle 18 Colour Pop Matte Lipstick Rose Day- Rs.100/- (Buy HERE)

Again a neutral pink that will work for all skin tones, especially fair to medium. Very affordable and 20 shades to choose from, one of my go-to pinks. This has a soft matte finish and stays for a pretty decent time.

4. Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream No. 12- Rs.160 to 180 (Buy HERE)

Comfortable soft matte liquid lipstick, No. 12 is my most favourite shade in the Miss Claire Range. A mid tone pink, not very bright, but easy to pair with everything. This will work on all skin tones.

5. Nykaa So Matte Lipstick 02 Frisky Fuchsia- Rs.399/-

Nykaa has a lot of pinks, I like 2-3 of them but Frisky Fuchsia is my favourite pink out of them. It’s a slightly warm rosy fuchsia pink. Everyday wearable shade and would look good on fair to medium skin tones.

6. Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick 02 Brink of Pink- Rs.499/- (Buy HERE)

This is a recent addition to the list, a deep bright pink. These are very drying but very long lasting. Brink of Pink would work on all skin tones, especially deeper skin tones.

ColourPop Matte X Lippie Stix Poppin Review, Swatches

This is my very first post on New-Love Makeup. Being from an Engineering background never thought I would be doing a Review on Makeup & Beauty Products LOL. But thanks to my latest addiction for Makeup and Skin Care Products which landed me here. Thank you NLM for being an Ocean for Makeup and Beauty Lovers like me 🙂 I am really excited to share my thoughts on this super cute baby which I got during my ColourPop Haul from the US. So without further ado let’s get into the review.

Product Claims for this Shade: If you need us we’ll be poppin bottles in this vibrant raspberry .

Shades Available: ColourPop keeps on adding new shades to their Lippie Stix Collection and I bet each one of us would definitely have something or the other to choose from their numerous shade range.

Packaging: ColourPop is famous all over the social media for their lovely white packaging. The lippie stix comes in a white cardboard box with the brand’s website and address specified and the shade is mentioned on the bottom of the box as well as at the bottom of the lipstick. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly.

You just need to twist the lipstick so that the product slides upwards and becomes available for application. It has a white cap which clicks when shut.

Texture: The texture of these lippie stix is velvety matte, but at the same time it feels quite smooth and soft during application.

Shade and Pigmentation: Intensely pigmented, with a great raspberry pink shade, these lippie stix have won my heart as far as pigmentation is concerned. Just one swipe is all you need.

My Thoughts:

The only thing that made me by these lippie stix was the hype over the entire social media. I love the packaging and the pigmentation, but other than that these did not impress me. The shade being bold would be great for festive or party looks.They are easy for application and the edgy design can be used to outline the lips and the flatter end be used to fill in the lips. This shade stains, bleeds and transfers a lot.

Staying power is around 3-4 hours without any munching, but if you are like me who like to eat and simultaneously does not like when a lipstick transfers to coffee mugs, spoon, etc while eating I would not recommend this. Also the matte formula of the lippie stix settles into fine lines and becomes really difficult for removal.

Pros:

  • Great Packaging.
  • Highly pigmented.
  • Affordable.
  • Sleek & Travel friendly design.
  • Cruelty free.
  • Numerous shades to pick from
  • Velvety matte formula
  • Super comfortable on the lips

Cons:

  • Availability in India.
  • Settles into fine lines.
  • Not transfer proof
  • Oil based makeup remover is required for removal.

Overall Thoughts: For the price, packaging and pigmentation these lippie stix are a great buy. I would personally not buy these again because I hate when a lipstick stays on the lips less and stains on every other thing else more.

MAC Retro Matte Lipstick Flat Out Fabulous Review, Swatches

Today’s review is all about a beautiful bold shade from MAC ‘Retro Matte’ collection called Flat Out Fabulous. While I was on my regular window shopping to MAC stores I noticed this bold fuschia pink matte shade with a purple undertone in it , so headed straight to try it on. I was literally dying to buy this lipstick but then was reluctant, as I was under the impression of bold colors were only for very fair skin tones (cool tone).But thanks to my friend who observed my desire and gifted this shade to me(how sweet of her) . Now since I have this shade lets go head and know more about it.

What MAC Claims: Bright plum matte shade. With Retro Matte finish. Apply directly on to lips.

Packaging

This lipstick is packed in a carton which has a list of ingredients on it. It does come in one of the Classic MAC matte black and silver lipstick container with the shade mentioned at the bottom.

Cost: Rs 1450 /- for 3g

My take on Flat Out Fabulous Lipstick

As we know matte lipsticks tend to give us a dry texture to our lips, it wasn’t in this case. This lipstick glided smoothly on to the lips giving a polished finish with minimal swipes. I have lips that are dry and tend to get chapped easily hence I prefer prepping my lips by exfoliating, well moisturizing and then by applying the lipstick. It’s your personal choice if you need a primer for a longer stay put .A lip balm will be handy in case it tugs into your lips.

This shade is so well pigmented that you don’t require multiple swipes and at the same time gives an even distribution of shade on the lips. To maintain or to increase the intensity of color, you can go for multiple swipes and retouch every 4-5 hours. Inspite of drinking and eating you will notice the lipstick won’t wear off easily. It stains to such an extent that you need a makeup remover to take off the lipstick completely, incase if you need to. Be careful not to stain your clothes accidentally as its going to be a hard stain to take off.

Since this is a bold color your base makeup has be very neat and subtle as this shade will stand out so beautifully that everyone will notice your lips first (wink wink). I have a fair to medium skin tone and this shade looked amazing on me. In the picture attached I did not use a lip liner as it doesn’t even bleed .I researched whether it suited other skin tones and yes it looks amazing on other skin tones also, even on our dusky skin beauties. What I can suggest is before you purchase this shade please try it on yourself rather than judging the shade by just looking at it. Lipsticks tend to look different on different skin tones. Try it on see how it looks on you.

You can wear this shade for a day or an evening event (depending on the place and type of event) .I prefer wearing this shade for any weddings, parties or while I go clubbing with my friends. Personally I’m a non matte lipstick lover but once I seen the end results of this lipstick, I was totally in love with it.

Pros

  • Travel friendly
  • Amazing pigmentation
  • Lasts for 6-7 hours
  • Suits most of the skin tones.
  • Glides on smoothly
  • Does not bleed.

Cons

  • Stain could be a problem for some of them.

I cannot think any other cons, please let me know if you have any.

Rating: 5/5 (For texture, shade and the finish on your lips)

Would I recommend Flat Out fabulous Mac Lipstick? Yes definitely I would, if you are bored of a classic red lipstick, try this bold shade.
