What the Company claims:  Moisture seal your skin with Sandalwood and Turmeric Moisturiser from Vedic Line. The blend of sandalwood and turmeric is best for nurturing and healing the skin. Not just that, this warm spicy fragrant moisturiser will tone and evens out your skin for the required glowing and acne free look.

Sandalwood: Has warm & spicy aroma. Heals and tones up skin.
Turmeric: Is antiseptic. Helps to give glow to skin.

Usage directions: Lightly apply on damp/moist skin. It will help to seal in moisture.

Shelf life: 3 years

Price: Rs. 220/- for 200 ml & Rs.120 for 100ml

Ingredients:

The Sandalwood and Turmeric Moisturizer has a strong spicy aroma. The moisturizer feels good on the skin especially after a hot water bath. The fragrance of sandalwood gives it a whole herbal feel. The aroma is strong and may not be to everybody’s liking. But then again it is a fresh and a different aroma.

As far as the moisture giving capacity of this product is concerned, I would rate it a 6.5 on a scale of 10. The moisture stays on the skin, but then again not for long. It is basically not that heavy on moisture.

The ingredients list contains a dozen number of chemicals and also mentions Turmeric extract, Honey, Almond oil, Wheat germ oil, Vitamin E to balance it out.

I like the bottle in which the moisturizer comes. It’s a convenient pump mechanism that very much helps in maintaining hygiene as well. The vanilla coloured moisturizer comes in a well packaged bottle.

The Product is not available all across, but could be found online on a few sites.

Positives being good value for money product, a good day moisturizer during summers, product packaging is good, overall appearance, texture of the product feels good.

Negatives:  The aroma, which again is subjective. The moisturizer could have been a little denser.

Rating : I would rate the product a 7 /10 overall.

6.5 Years, Worth the wait.
It took 3 formulating dermatologists, 53 researchers, and 100 formula trials to get the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ just right. Ingredients:

It comes in a small pump packaging with a plastic cap..which clasps tight and well..I love the golden swivel design on the packaging..

Its a light yellow colored cream..with a slight floral smell similar to the Pond’s Daily Spotless Day Cream..

Pump dispenses a little too much than required..I think the nozzle should have been smaller for controlled dispensing..coz just a pea sized amount is more than enough for the whole face and neck..its quite rich..but not greasy kinds..blends and settles easily..though gives a dewy finish for some time..I think it would be rich for oily skin..but since it is anti ageing..most people after a certain age..tend to have dry skin..and hence its perfect..

I am using it from a week..and cannot comment on the age spots and wrinkles claim..but its very hydrating..and I do not need to reapply it whole day..but since I am combination..I find it a little rich during the hot and humid days..

Pros:

1. Very hydrating.
2. Gives a dewy finish.
3. SPF 15..though its a little less..and if it would have been around 30..it could replace the use of separate sunscreen too…at times.
4. Niacinmide  (Vitamin B3) and Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E) both are beneficial for the skin.

Cons:

1. Expensive.
2. Not for oily skin.
3. Has parabens.
4. Pump dispenses a little too much..

Overall I would say its good for dry mature skin..and would work for them..very hydrating and skin gets the essential vitamins too..

It comes in a green small rectangular shaped bottle with a white cap..has a pump dispensor..

Its a white colored medium thick lotion..smells like fevicol..takes a little time to absorb..it needs to be blended well..or else leaves a whitish cast..it does moisturise the skin..there are no dry patches..but since mine is combination skin..my T zone gets shiny within an hour..I feel this would suit dry skin more..

This gives a nice dewy finish to the skin..but does not help significantly in correcting marks..

Pros:

1. Moisturises skin really well..I loved using it in winters.
2. Gives a nice dewy finish to the skin.
3. No dry patches.
4. Has SPF 30++
5. Helps a little with spots..but nothing major.
6. Gives some brightness to the skin..there is no dullness like with a heavy moisturiser.
7. Keeps skin hydrated and moist for 6-7 hours.

Cons:

1. Needs to be blended really well..or else gives a whitish cast.
2. Smells like fevicol.
3. Did not help much with correcting spots.
4. Only available online. You can buy it HERE
5. Expensive at Rs.450/-

Overall I like it..but do not love it..it helped moisturise skin in winters..I think it is good for winters or for dry skinned people..It does give some brightness to the skin..but does not do everything it claims..a decent moisturiser.

New Lakme Fruit Moisture Peach Milk Moisturiser Review

If you remember I had attended the New Fruit Moisture Range Launch. The three lotions and one day cream and night cream are similar to last year’s launch but this time they have been infused with a new Fruit Moisture technology and also have a different packaging.

The slightly curvy at the top bottle is very similar to the Nivea packaging.

Its a light pink colored thick lotion..but as you can see the first ingredient being Aqua it is indeed water based and quiet light and absorbs in a jiffy. It has a light fragrance which is a bit artificial kind…but it goes away in few seconds of application.

Pros:

1. Its quiet light and easy to absorb since its water based.
2. I liked this new packaging.
3. It gets absorbed in few seconds and keeps my skin moisturised for 9-10 hours..though my skin did not crave moisture for 12 hours too as claimed..but then I don’t have very dry skin nor do I live in a cold climate.
4. The small 60 ml bottle would be quite handy and easy to carry.
5. Economically priced.

Cons:

1. This would not be enough moisturising for dry skin through the day and not even if you live in a very cold climate.
2. Has parabens.
3. Its difficult to get the product out after its around half finished.

Overall its decent enough as a moisturiser and would work for you if you have normal skin. Dry skin would need to reapply it through the day.

Its an off white light textured lotion with a very pleasant fresh smell. It comes in a pump packaging which dispenses very little qty..2 pumps are perfect and enough for the whole face. It gets completely absorbed and is totally light weight and non greasy…you would not feel as though you have applied any moisturiser.

Pros:

1. Very very light weight and non greasy…perfect for oily combination skin.
2. Does not leave any shine on skin.
3. Has a pleasant light smell.
4. Pump packaging is easy to use and carry around.
5. Perfect blend of ingredients.
6. No parabens.
7. Against animal testing.

Cons:

1. Its expensive..but it lasts quiet long as very less qty is required..so overall it balances out.
2. Availability is an issue..can be bought online only.

Overall I quite like it. Its one of the best moisturisers for oily/combination skin.

We are obsessed with Australian tea tree oil as it smells refreshing and sweet, plus is has a cooling effect on the skin and helps prevent acne. Apply this lotion 1-2 times a day to keep your face alive and happy. Yo Face: your face with ‘tude.

It comes in a bottle with a small nozzle and you get the perfect qty required for the face. Its not too thick nor two thin and as its water based..gets absorbed too.

Pros:

1. Gets easily absorbed into the skin.
2. Very light in texture.
3. Made with natural ingredients and without much of processing.
4. I like the nozzle packaging.
5. Travel friendly.
6. Did not break me out..it even has tea tree oil..and skin does feel soft and moistuirsed.

Cons:

1. A little expensive for the quantity.
2. Can be ordered online only.

I did not find this product on their site though. May be coz they have come up with new products. They also have gift packs for corporate gifting and stuff. Their products range from skin care to hair care to body care. Availability is a problem though. Right now its is Mumbai, Hyderabad, Goa, Bangalore and Pune. When I received it, it was a little damaged..so I had to write all the things as it was not clearly visible. But this product was not there on site…so I had to add this pic..excuse the tedha medha bottle..

Its a thick white lotion and the bottle has a plastic cap inside. As you must have read the ingredients you must have known the main smell would be of ylang ylang oil. Its super strong and a mix of all the ingredients but predominantly of ylang ylang oil and nutmeg oil. It gets absorbed in a jiffy and soothes the skin. You can feel the cooling sensation. It cools the eyes too…though it is advised to keep out of eyes…so one should be careful.
Pros:

1. Gets absorbed fast as it has Kokum Butter which helps in absorbing and rejuvenate cells.
2. Skin feels supple and moist.
3. Gives that relaxing, cooling feel to the skin.
4. I also use it as a night cream and skin is smooth and soft the next day.
5. NO parabens.
6. All ingredients are listed.
7. Natural ingredients and essential oils which help replenish the skin.
8. Comes in a bottle..so no jar or dipping hands.
9. Did not break me out.

Cons:

1. Has a very strong smell..sensitive nose should stay away from this.
2. Availability is a problem with other States in India.
3. May not suit oily skin as it has butters and oils…would not break them out but might be greasy for them.

Boroplus is an UK brand and has tied up wit Emami Ltd. in India and they have their Himani Boroplus range promoted by Kareena Kapoor and Amitabh Bacchan.

Himani Boroplus Healthy Skin Advanced Moisturising Lotion is a light body lotion which does what it claims…provides advanced moisturisation for a long long time.. I am LOVING IT !!! 🙂

Pros:

1. Does what it claims…super moisturising…skin remains moisturised for 2-3 days even if we skip it..:)
2. Absorbs in 2-3 minutes to leave behind super soft skin.
3. I loveee the smell and it stays on for quite a long time.
4. Very travel friendly.
5. Cost effective..but I want more quantity :/
6. Nice packaging.

Cons:

1. Availability…I wanted a large bottle but could not find it..there were only these 100 ml bottles in a local small shop..I dont find these at Super markets…dunno why the availability issues when they are advertising it full on these days…I see the banners at all railway stations in Mumbai 😉
