Monave Versatile Mineral Powders Review,Swatches

Monave Versatile Mineral Powders Review,Swatches

What the Company claims: Monave loose mineral powders are a blend of pure, oxidized mica, and are versatile and fun. The texture of the powders range from semi-matte (these impart a light sheen) to shimmer, to full sparkle. All of these beautiful loose powders can be used as eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, and nail polish (please see directions for how to use them). The red, pink, brown and beige tones can also be mixed into a clear gloss and applied to the lips.

This is an especially enjoyable product for teenagers, who have an innate sense of fun and creativity. Makeup artists will enjoy being able to blend their own shades together to create custom colors.

Monave Versatile Mineral Powders Review,Swatches

Directions: Eye Shadow ~ Use any color from the MONAVE collection as eye shadow. Simply dip a MONAVE eyeshadow brush into the desired color and apply to your eyelids. Choose a lighter color as a highlighter to apply under the brow. Use a darker color in the crease as a shader.

Blush ~ Because MONAVE is so pure, the use of a blush brush will only waste your product. Instead, use cotton ball and lightly touch the tip into the desired color. Apply along the cheekbone and blend well.

Eye Liner ~ Dip your MONAVE luxurious liner brush into water then wet applicator into the desired color. Mix the powder and water together on the back of your hand or in a separate container to create a creamy liquid liner. Dip the eyeliner brush into the liquid and carefully apply to the upper and/or lower lids, staying as close to the lashes as possible.

Lip Color ~ Dip your MONAVE retractable lip brush into your clear lip gloss/lip balm and then into the desired color. Apply the mix to your lips and blend well. Add more powder to deepen the color. MONAVE cocoa butter vitamin E stick can also be used.

Nail Polish ~ Because MONAVE contains no dye, you do not need to apply a base coat. Simply use clear nail polish and dip the brush into the desired color and paint onto nails. For a darker color, use more powder. You can also mix MONAVE into colored nail polish to change its tint.

Body Shimmer/Highlighter ~ Use a cotton ball and lightly touch it into the desired color. Dust the powder onto your shoulder, face, chest etc., for a healthy glow. Certain colors can also be used as bronzers.

Semi Matte Bronze is one amazing bronzer, eye shadow, highlighter and looks awesome on the shoulders, neck and all places sun hits when you wearing a nice dress and out in the sun ! This shade gives you the Sun Goddess look…

Turquoise is a duo chromatic metallic blue with blue shimmer…a very unique shade..it can make your eyes pop..but be subtle with the rest of the makeup when wearing this…looks great as a liner too.

Antique Brick is a pinky red with red and silver shimmers..it can be worn lightly for a softer look or layered up for a heavy look..this shade would look great with Indian traditional wear.

Pros:

1. These are super pigmented..you need to just touch the brush to get a color and that too intense..

Monave Mineral Blush Review, Swatches

Monave Mineral Blush Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: From dusty rose to deep mauve, our blushes will brighten up your cheeks in a soft, natural way. Monave blushes are made from a silky, sheer formula that’s easily blendable and long-wearing. These are pure pigment and can be used on the nails and lips as well.

These blushes are made from pure mica, so while the texture is extraordinarily soft, the color is concentrated. Use just a few crumbs on acotton ball or a blush brush. Make sure to tap all of the excess powder off of the brush, until there is just a faint dusting on the tips of the bristles, then gently glide over the cheeks. Very little blending is needed.

Directions: Loose mineral blushes are very concentrated and should be applied sparingly. The simplest way to apply them is with a cotton ball. Press the cotton ball onto the sifter, then tap the jar so a little bit of blush powder gets on the cotton ball. Then gently glide the color over the apples of the cheek, and blend. If you prefer to use a brush, a fan brush is the best option. A traditional blush brush isn’t recommended, as it picks up too much of the powder.

Ingredients: Mica, iron oxides, titanium dioxide, may contain ultramarine blue, ferric ferrocyanide

MRP: Full size = $13.50 for 3g
Sample Baggie = $1.00

Monave Blushes are divided into four categories : Sultry Blush, Pearlescent Blush, Matte Blush and Semi Matte Blush..
I am reviewing the shade 207 from Semi Matte which is Seashell..Its a very light cool toned icy pink shade with silver shimmer..this shade is just perfect as a highlighter for medium to fair skin tones. As described these are super duper pigmented and you need just a little amount. Even using a blush brush is not recommended as it would pick up too much powder..a cotton ball is recommended..I use a fan brush and dab just a little..for those highlighted cheeks !

T-Unblended B- Blended

About Seashell : Get in touch with your inner princess as you cascade this “pretty in pink” shade across your cheeks. Pearlescent blues and slight sparkle compliment this classic pink to add a little Cinderella to your every day.

Pros:

1. It is super duper pigmented…a very very small qty is required to be used.
2. I love the shade and the fact that it can be used both as a blush and highlighter.
3. They have a variety of shades in all possible combinations.
4. Since a very little amount is required this is going to last me ages !
5. Small and handy container.
6. Even though it has shimmer it does not accentuate the pores.
7. Super soft in texture.

Cons:

1. Guessing the shade online is difficult.
2. Availability is an issue. You can buy it here
3. This shade would not suit duskier skin tones.

Overall I am in love with this shade and love using it as a highlighter ! I would surely recommend it for medium to fair skin tones..from NC 30 to 37..or lighter with cool tones..

Monave Setting Powder Angel Review, Swatches

Monave Setting Powder Angel Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Monave setting powders are a silky blend of the lightest minerals with just a touch of clay. Applied after foundation, the powders will aid in oil absorption, as well as add a smooth, matte, “finished” touch to your look. These powders can also be used as “face powders” for women who need very light coverage, used in place of foundation.

Recommended brush: flat-top bronzer.

Ingredients: Angel, Petal Pink, and Tawny: Serecite, iron oxides, kaolin clay, mica.

MRP : 12$ for 5g

It comes in four shades..Angel for light yellow tones, Petal for pink tones, Tawny for medium to dark tones and Translucent for all.

Angel is a medium yellow shade and good for warm undertones. I use a powder brush and blend it softly. Its super silky in texture and keeps skin matte for a decent 4-5 hours. I have combination skin and use it more on my T zone and it keeps it oil free.

Pros:

1. Its super soft and silky in texture.
2. Perfect for oily skin as it would keep their skin matte for 3-4 hours.
3. Since its tinted and available in 4 variants according to skin tones, it would not give you a whitish cast or anything.
4. Its economical and the quantity lasts a long time.
5. Has iron oxide which would give you some amount of sun protection too.
6. It does not give a caked up look and blends in nicely.

Cons:

1. Availability is an issue. You can buy it online here

I do not have any other problem with it..overall its a nice setting powder.

Monave Loose Mineral Foundation Review,Swatches

Monave Loose Mineral Foundation Review,Swatches

What the Company claims: Monave powdered mineral makeup foundation uses a very simple formula that offers amazing coverage, a sheer, natural look, and incredible staying powder. Clean, non-allergenic ingredients help soothe inflamed rosacea, or acne-prone skin while protecting the skin from the elements.

Monave loose mineral makeup foundation is extremely versatile, and can be applied dry with a flat-top foundation brush or mixed with a facial moisturizer for sensitive or dry skin. Our mineral foundation has complete coverage and full spectrum sunscreen, and oil control properties. No separate concealer or powder is needed in most cases.

Loose mineral foundation is the purest form of foundation available. It is talc-free, chemical-free and dye-free. It is ideal for acne sufferers as it provides complete coverage of blemishes at the same time helping to heal and calm inflammations. This foundation can be used after recent plastic surgery and is the most hypoallergenic cosmetic on the market. It hides skin conditions such as rosacea and spider veins yet feels utterly weightless!

In addition, Monave loose mineral foundation has a high SPF factor and is nearly waterproof. It’s an excellent sports make-up and is also ideal for women with active lifestyles.

While it is a powder foundation, it is not drying. It seals in moisture for those with dry skin yet doesn’t clog pores for those with oily skin. It also won’t “break up” in response to oil, but remains flawless throughout the day.

And finally, the glow skin receives from the minerals takes years off of a woman’s face. Some women don’t recognize themselves.

Directions: Tap a small amount of loose mineral foundation powder into the top of your jar, and swirl your flat-top foundation or kabuki brush into it. Tap the bottom of the handle with the brush head facing upward on a hard surface (eg. bathroom counter). This settles the powder into the brush head. Firmly spread powder on clean, dry skin to evenly blend pigments. For the most natural look, start with less powder, and buff it in well, using a circular motion.
For blemishes, a separate conclear is not needed. Use a shadow brush or the edge of the flat-top brush to apply small amounts to the problem areas and blend well. For those with dry, flaky skin, MONAVE loose mineral foundation can be blended with Monave cream to create a cream foundation. First, moisturize as usual, then tap a small amount of powder into the palm of the hand. Add a drop of moisturizer. Blend the two products together until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved. Use your fingers or make-up wedge to apply.

Ingredients: Mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, ultramarine blue, May Contain: zinc oxide, silica

MRP:
Full Size: $19.50
Full Size Plus Refill: $29.50
Sample Size: $2.50

Weight: 9-10 g
It comes in 24 shades…so there is a perfect shade for you out there..the only problem is guessing the correct shade..for that you can buy 2-3 samples of shades you think would be perfect for you and decide on the best match.

I like the fact that these are talc free, chemical free and dye free..the only problem with mineral foundations is the coverage..they never give you complete coverage if you desire that…but these are just perfect for daily wear..and non comodogenic..plus you can also use these as a Tinted Moisturiser..mixing them with a little oil free moisturiser of you choice.

T- Carloine B- Saturnina

I have the shade Caroline and Saturnina..
Caroline: Light yellow undertone for caucasian and light asian skin tones, also has a faint pink hue.

Saturnina: For Latinas, Southeast Asians, Native Americans, or light skinned African-American women. Deep, peachy yellow undertones bring out the warm tones of this complexion.

Blended

Caroline is a little lighter for me..Saturnina is a more better match..

Pros:

1. These are quiet light and good for everyday use.
2. Do not cake up or make your dry patches accentuate.
3. These would give you 3-4 hours of wear.
4. Good to top your makeup with or keep your skin matte.
5. You just need a little bit..so 9-10g would last quiet long.
6. You can layer it up for a little more coverage after the first one sets in.
7. Mineral makeup is perfect for you if you have sensitive skin or suffer from some skin problems or acne which the normal foundation may aggravate.

Cons:

1. This would not give you complete coverage…like you do need a concealer for some spot concealing.
2. Availability. You can buy it here
3. You do need a good powder brush or kabuki to use mineral foundations.

Overall decent enough. These are quiet good for daily use..and surely recommended for people with sensitive skin.
