Mumbai Bridal Diaries: One Stop Destination for the Brides-to-Be
Hi guys,
If you have been following my bridal series, you would have seen a lot of posts related to my wedding. I complete one year of my wedding exactly in a week 🙂
I know exactly how a bride-to-be feels and the thousands of mixed emotions she goes through. And planning her own perfect wedding is what every bride dreams of.
I myself have gone through numerous blogs and wedding magazines, taking inspirations for hair, makeup, jewellery, different kinds of ethnic wear for trousseau, etc. Every bride wants to be different coz things get repetitive easily with styles getting very common these days.
With just weeks or months left until the wedding, a bride’s heart is filled with excitement and anxiety. With the big-date getting closer, you may find her wishful and enthusiastic one moment and then getting nervous the very next second.
I would be sharing a lot of more bridal posts on fabrics to buy, how to plan your trousseau and engagement makeup, etc. So stay tuned for more on my Mumbai Bridal Diaries 🙂

Pre Bridal Services (Body) at Lakme Salon-Review & Experience
Hey guys,
I had got a few of my pre bridal services done at Lakme Salon on 2nd Dec before the wedding. I would be sharing my experience of the same but would divide the same into separate categories such as body, hair, etc for ease and convenience and not make the post too long.
I finished all the services in a day at the Lakme Salon,Bandra since I hardly had time left.
Starting with the body, I got white chocolate wax done. I had tried chocolate wax 1-2 times but never tried white chocolate. They start with a pre wax lotion that removes any body lotion residue, etc which sometimes is a hindrance while waxing.
White Chocolate wax was very very smooth and not at all sticky. It came out super quick with the entire area’s hair removal at once. No going over the area 2-3 times as happens with regular wax at times.
My full hands and legs were done in about 30-40 minutes which was quite quick. They also use a post wax astringent lotion which helps in closing the pores, which is very important for me since I have sensitive skin and open pores gives me bumps and rashes.
Then I went for Body Polishing which is an absolute must try for brides to be. They start with cleansing the body, followed by astringent and exoliating gel.
Since I had got my waxing done just before this treatment, I had to skip exfoliation as my pores were still open. A body scrub made of oats, papaya, etc was then applied on the entire body.
Post cleansing of the scrub, a mask was applied consisting of sandalwood, fuller’s earth (multani mitti),etc with the steam machine on, on each area step by step. And it was kept on for a few minutes and cleansed with normal water later.
Skin felt super soft and smooth. I was so occupied with work on the last few days before the wedding that I hardly got time to look after my body skin. And that I guess would be the common problem with most of the brides. This treatment is perfect coz it compensates for your lost time and takes care of the body skin within an hour.
Highly recommended for brides to be and even for others, you can try it once in a while. Especially if you have ingrowth, etc, this would help exfoliate the skin and help in reducing ingrowth and getting rid of dead skin cells too.

Have you tried Body Polishing/White Chocolate wax at Lakme Salon?
Let me tell you I was very nervous. I thought he would be very moody types or something but I was so so wrong. He was very very sweet and warm. A very down to earth and jovial person. We both are Sagittarians :p We chatted a lot and he made me feel quite comfortable.
Starting with the goof ups, he and his team members Poonam and Priya already reached the venue at 9am even before we reached :/ And I still had to sit for the pre wedding mandva puja which took another 40 minutes or so. We had ample time to get ready so that was not an issue, but still I did not want to make him wait. He was very calm though and had his breakfast peacefully.
Later on when we started with the makeup, my jewellery box went missing. I was going nuts :/ My friends and family took rounds to home to check while all the time it was in the same bag right in front of us and no one could find it :/ Yes, all this usually happens on the day of your wedding. Something similar happened with my bhai’s sherwani on the day of his wedding 😀
Finally we found it, and untill that time we did the basic makeup, etc. Jewellery was required before hair for the maang tikka etc placing.
I also learned some tips and tricks for him. He said I am the first bride he is working on who knows so much about makeup and makeup brands and is so knowledgeable, that he loved doing my makeup 🙂
Here are a few pics of ‘in process’ :p
After the base, Cory used the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Compact to set the base. He used the Face Stylist Blush Duos and Lakme Eye Quartet.
He made a slight wing with the Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate and lined the waterline too with it. (I love it too..was carrying only this liner/kajal for my honeymoon)
A small nazar ka tikka too with the Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate.
And last but not the least mascara..
We did not have flowers and Cory wanted to add them to the bun, so he went and got some flowers from the wedding mandap 😀
And with the jewellery..
I will show you the complete look with the two sarees and the dupatta and more pics with him in the next post 🙂
Remember the last time I told you about the pros and cons of bikini waxing and bikini laser. Read it HERE. I got my 1st bikini laser session at Kaya Skin Clinic and also shared my experience.
And now after the 2nd session, here is an update.
At first, let me tell you, with just 1 session, the growth had reduced to half! Like literally half. This time for the 2nd session, the doctor gave a higher reading, which I understood from they way she was explaining the practitioner and was already scared.
There are generally two different frequency settings prescribed by the doctor, higher for the upper area where there is more thick and coarse growth and a lower frequency for the main sensitive area.
I had mentioned about the pre and post care in the previous post, how they keep the anesthetic cream (Prilox) for 45 minutes before the laser and things to avoid post laser, etc.
Since the frequency was higher this time, it hurt!! I won’t lie, this time it did hurt on the upper area and after 2-3 lines when it became a little unbearable, the practitioner lowered the frequency level and it was much better. The main area had a lower frequency and that was still bearable.
Always tell your practitioner to lower the frequency if its unbearable for you, there is generally a range given by the doctor. And its completely fine if the laser is at a lesser frequency, not that you wouldn’t get the desired results, the laser light will still find the dark hair follicle and burn it.
Its been more than 2 weeks now since I got my 2nd session done and I am super happy to tell you guys that there is like hardly any growth! It must be around 25-30% that too not much on the upper area. It feels so nice. And its very important from hygiene point of view too.
My 3rd session would be on 1st or 2nd December just before the wedding. (I hope so, if the periods, etc cooperate)
I would update you guys in January now about the 3rd session and the growth.
Did any of you try bikini waxing or bikini laser ? Do let me know in the comments below 🙂
