b.liv Got Oil Relief Toner Review

b.liv Got Oil Relief Toner Review
By Magali
The Got Oil Relied Controlling Toner (as the name suggests) is made especially for oily skin. A month ago I had the worst breakouts that I’ve ever had so it was the perfect time to really put this product to the test & see if it lives up to it’s claims. The bottle comes with a spray cap & a lid.
The spray mechanism feels well made & sprays a fine mist. The bottle is quite travel friendly too.
This does a good job of removing excess oiliness & refreshed your skin too.
A lot of oil control cleansers & toners leave my skin feeling parched but not his one. I also use it after cleansing, to remove the last traces of makeup.
Pros-
1. Travel Friendly
2. Removes excess oil without drying out the skin
Cons-
1. Contains Parabens

Mattify! Cosmetics Original Powder Review

What the Company claims: Why mess around with oil-blotting sheets and touch ups with cakey colored powders? Let your base cosmetics do the work for you! Whether you need a little bit of oil control or a lot, Mattify! Cosmetics provide adjustable oil absorption, depending on how you apply them.

The entire line of Mattify! Transparent Powder
can be worn four different ways:

*Alone to minimize redness, pores & acne, while also absorbing oil
*Before foundation as primer to prevent acne & protect pores from makeup
*After foundation to create an airbrushed poreless finish and help makeup last
*BEFORE and AFTER foundation for maximum oil absorption and skin clarity

Mattify! Powder can even be used as an eyeshadow primer to prevent creasing and allow for long lasting eye makeup.

From Site

It comes in 3 variants..one for combination skin, one for sensitive oily skin and ultra for very oily skin.
The original one is meant for combination skin.

Application Techniques: Use a fluffy powder brush and dip into the powder so that just the tops of the bristles are coated. Tap to remove excess and apply in dabbing motions, paying special attention to T-Zone. Swirl brush in circles to blend. A little goes a long way! It can also be applied using a powder puff, for more targeted application. Remove any excess powder with fluffy brush or a tissue.

See below for specific instructions, based on your skin type.

**TIP** If you have oily skin also plagued by acne, use a good exfoliating scrub (We like either Dr Brandt Microderm Scrub or St Ives Apricot Scrub) to remove any dry flakes that could be caused by your acne treatment. You want to make sure your skin is flake-free before using this powder because it has a tendency to cling to dry areas.

**TIP** If you use moisturizer, make sure you’ve selected one that is oil-free, and allow it to dry for a full 5 minutes before applying Mattify! Powder. The ingredients are meant to soak up any moisture – so you want to be sure the moisturizer has absorbed into your skin before applying Mattify! ecific Application Tips Based On Skin Type

Combination Skin: Apply only to oily areas. Shine-free finish should last about 8 hours.
Oily Skin: Apply either immediately before or after foundation. Shine-free finish lasts about 6 hours.
Very Oily Skin: Apply both before and after foundation. Shine-free finish should last about 4 hours.
Dry Skin: Not Recommended. The powder will stick to dry flaky areas and make them more noticeable.
Men: Apply sparingly using a fluffy powder brush, dust off excess with a clean powder-free brush

Mattify! Original Powder for Combination Skin
Stop your oily T-Zone with this translucent oil absorbing powder. Gives oil control where you need it without drying out your skin.

Though its a white colored powder..it merges with the skin and does not give a whitish cast. They have come up with a new tinted powder..so the white issue would not come up with it.

Pros:

1. Controls oil well..as claimed for a good 6-7 hours.
2. Does not give a whitish cast..though looks like..
3. Affordable.
4. Ship anywhere in the world at a fixed cheap shipping.
5. Works well as a eye primer too as controls oil and prevents creasing.

Cons:

1. The product needs to be blended well…and I guess the tinted powder would be more better now.
2. It could be difficult for people with dark skin to use this.

Would I buy it again: Yes..

P.S: Product sent by brand for review but it has not affected my opinion.

Lacto Calamine Lotion Review- Classic and Aloe

Lacto Calamine Lotion Review- Classic and Aloe

I have been using Lacto Calamine from the last 4-5 years and can easily say its my HG..it is one product I cant live without. I have three of these right now too :p
I have used both the Classic (normal to oily skin one) and Aloe Moisturiser (dry to normal skin one).I will state the ingredients and exact difference between both of them. It is a light pink lotion with medium consistency.

LC Classic :

What the Company claims : Skinsurance. Daily use formula with balanced Kaolin and Glycerin. The goodness of Clay and Glycerin gives your skin : 1. Nourishment 2.Acne and Oil Control 3. Dead skin removal 4. Protection. Apply everyday for clear, beautiful skin.

MRP : Rs. 32 for 30ml, Rs.52 for 60 ml and Rs.72 for 120 ml (Both have same prices)

Ingredients : Aqua, Light Kaolin, Castor oil, Glycerin, Zinc Oxide, Zinc Carbonate, emulsifiers, preservatives, perfume and permitted colors.

Directions : Shake well before use.

LC Aloe Moisturiser :

What the Company claims : Skinsurance. Daily use formula with Kaolin and Special Moisturisers. Discover Skinsurance for dry skin. 1. Moisturisation 2. Protection 3. Dead skin removal  4. Acne Control. Apply everyday for soft, clear skin.

MRP : same

Ingredients : Aqua, Light Kaolin, Sorbitol soln 70%, Propylene Glycol, glycerine, Aloe Vera gel, Castor oil, Zinc Oxide, Zinc Carbonate, Simethicone, emulsifiers, preservatives, perfume and permitted colors. (highlighted ingredients different from classic)

Directions : same

Pros:

1. Clay, Glycerin and Aloe all are beneficial for the skin.
2. Keeps oil and shine at bay and does reduce acne with regular use.
3. Is tinted..so can be used daily to even out skin.
4. Reduces redness and soothes skin.
5. Helps in burns, insect bites, etc
6. It does help in dead skin removal and nourishment..I use it regularly but skipped it during my exams as I had no time at all…and my skin had gone all haywire…and with its regular use again it came back to normal. I just swear by this. This is the best thing ever made for me :p
7. Helps with cleaning up any makeup mistakes..I just dab some LC on a Q tip and clean out any mess..whether eye liner, lip liner or smudgy kohl..this cleans it off lightly.
8. Expiry date is 5 years from the date of manufacture..its going to stay long even if you are not a regular user.
9. The small bottle is absolutely travel friendly..you can carry it around anywhere.
10.Economical at this price.

Cons :

1. It is not moisturising enough. It leaves the skin dry and in winters I need a moisturiser over this but in summers I am fine with this. But dry skinned people will obviously need a moisturiser over this.
2. I personally dint find any difference in the Classic and Aloe one except the ingredients.
3. Those who like a dewy effect on the skin would not like this as it gives a matte effect. (I love that :p)
4. If not shaken well…the liquid would separate and that would come out first as it has a wide opening.

Overall rating- 5/5

Would I buy it again- YES..forever and ever ..:D
