Sometimes, miracles happen overnight. It required just one film to catapult Shraddha Kapoor to the status of an overnight sensation. With forgettable box-office duds like ‘Teen Patti’ and ‘Luv Ka The End’ in the past, Aashiqui2 opposite the dashing debonairhunk- Aaditya Roy Kapoor, came as a much-needed kiss of life to Shraddha. A few years down the line and the perky Marathi mulgi (as she considers herself more a Marathi than a Punjabi) is riding hide on the success of a number of her flicks. It’s hard to turn a blind eye to her effervescence, charm, vivaciousness and girl-next- door avatars. Let us feast our eyes to the Best off-screen looks of this pert actress then, shall we? 🙂

1. DURING ABCD2 PROMOTIONS – Tanya Ghavri has styled Shraddha for her ABCD 2 promo tour and looks like she took her task with utmost seriousness. Pairing a Hemant & Nandita creation with Zara flats, Shraddha looked her usual chirpy self. And not to forget her tousled brown locks look drool- worthy.

2. ALL SUITED UP- The ebullient Shraddha Kapoor’s feminine spin on the power suit is simply put-Style goals. The colour with zero accessories and nude makeup makes this look an out-and- out hit.

3. DURING THE HAIDER PROMOTIONS- And here comes the girl who no guy would think twice before popping the question. Carrying this beige look with sheer aplomb, Shraddha rocks in a soft, feminine dress and rounds it off with wavy hair.

4. UNLEASHING THE TOMBOY WITHIN- The livewire Shraddha, for the promotion of ABCD 2 attended an episode of the dance reality show- DID Super Moms with her ABCD2 co-star Varun Dhawan in a Gas grey denims and jacket with a white Zara graphic tee. Opting for a casual look, she completed her look by keeping her hair in a sleek ponytail, bracelets and a pair of gold Adidas sneakers. Talk of going funky and miss out Shraddha? Naah, that is just not happening anytime soon.

5. GOING BOHO CHIC- Going boho chic, Shraddha opts for a causal look in an Urvashi Kaur outfit. She completes it with a pink top and gypsy pants with a statement neckpiece by Blur designs, Gucci sandals and a quirky ombre hairdo. Certainly, my top pick out of all her looks.

6. FOR BAAGHI PROMOTONS- Sparkling in a Prabal Gurung black and blue blocked dress during the promotional tour of Baaghi, Shraddha kept her look minimal. She opted for side swept locks and black ankle strap sandals which rounded off her look.

7. UNLEASHING THE FEMININE SIDE- Swaddled in in DvF and Zara for the promotions of Haider on India’s Raw Star, Shraddha looked effortlessly stylish and chic. Not going overboard in styling is her USP. Have a look at her feline eyes and you’ll be transfixed.

Kurtis for Different Occasions & How to Pair Them

Today I am talking about kurtis, how versatile kurtis are and there is one kurti for every occasion.

When it comes to the well-defined ‘Indian wear’, the first thing that comes to our mind while walking towards the closet is Kurti. This fashion trend never goes off and one of the best smart casual wear. In fact, Kurtis are so versatile that you can wear them for college, office, family events, day-out, party wear and literally every way you prefer.

Kurtis can be made adaptable with various styles like short or medium length, from various materials of cloth and the embroidery as well. thus, the exclusive designs, elaborate patterns, various hues and appealing shades blended with western as well as Indian styles has made Kurti so popular as a fashion trend. There are various reason to love them, different ways to pair them up.

I came across this site ‘Rangriti’ and they have such gorgeous kurtis. There is one for each occasion from work to more casual wear to more dressy ethnic. I have picked a few here and highlighted which can be worn for what occasion.

1. Yellow Short Kurti

Now this one is so colorful! I love the yellow and pink combination and the pom pom bead tie-ups. This is more of a casual wear. You can team it with denims or a nice, long, flared skirt. If going for a casual brunch, then with denims and if for some wedding related function like a mehendi, this would look perfect with a flared skirt in pink.

2. Indigo Blue mid length kurti

This will work with a white churidar for work and even a white skirt/palazzos for a more boho look. Team it with feather/beads/colorful accessories for a casual boho chic look.

3. Mustard yellow long kurti

Now this one can be a little dressy. Team it with a black churidar and maybe even a heavy dull gold work dupatta and you can wear it for a wedding.

There are so many ways to wear a kurti and one can dress it up or dress it down on teaming with correct bottoms and accessories. I love kurtis and have so many different styles of them in my wardrobe.

I love online shopping and the variety of kurtis available online these days is amazing. Also at very affordable prices. I would highly recommend to buy kurtis online.

Within a span of merely two years, Kriti Sanon has catapulted herself to the status of the ‘Next Big Thing’ in Tinsel-town. A model-turned- actress who ventured into the glamorous and glitzy world of movies, Kriti began her career with modelling initially and then, signed some flicks down South.

Making inroads into Tinsel-town with Heropanti opposite Tiger Shroff and then, starring in the commercial potboiler ‘Dilwale’ with superstars SRK and Kajol, opposite Varun Dhawan, Kriti has her kitty full with many flicks. A towering height with porcelain skin and slender frame, she has all the trappings of a Hindi film heroine. Making her presence felt every now and then thanks to her impeccable fashion sense, let us treat our eyes to the Best Off-screen looks of Kriti Sanon 🙂

1. TRAVELLING IN STYLE- Airports aren’t ramps. So, one does not have to style themselves in an overly dramatic way to create a statement. Comfort should preside over anything here. And who better than Kriti to prove it? Swaddled in a pair of jet black denims with a casual plaid shirt and hair lustrous locks let loose, Kriti gives us major style goals with her sartorial sense.

2. AT THE LAUNCH OF ‘MANMA EMOTION’ SONG- Opting for an H & M shirt, Zara dress, VANS shoes and rings by KOOVS, Kriti dazzled at the song launch of ‘Manma Emotion’ from Dilwale. With minimal makeup and her hair done up neatly, she posed for a pretty picture.

3. DURING HEROPANTI PROMOTIONS- Opting for a bodycon dress from Bebe for the promotion of Heropanti in Chandigarh, Kriti goes simple and looks exquisite. The attire surely complements her slender frame and skin tone.

4. SHOWCASING HER STREET STYLE- Looking chic in a grey tank and ankle-length ripped jeans, Kriti left for Hyderabad to shoot for the final schedule of her then impending movie- Dilwale. She accessorised her look with black sunglasses, white sneakers, tan belt and a shoulder bag.

5. IN ‘NOT SO SERIOUS’ BY PALLAVI MOHAN- Sporting a multi-print dress by Pallavi Mohan for another promotional event of Dilwale, Kriti looked poised and pert. With a pair of metallic oxfords from Aldo and her poker-straight tresses let loose, she completed her look.

6. KEEPING THINGS CASUAL- With a heart patterned sweatshirt from Shahin Mannan that was styled with denims and metallic sneakers, Kriti posed for a picture. Certainly, not going overboard is her mantra and we see her keeping things casual but chic.

7. IN A ‘FALGUNI AND SHANE PEACOCK’ DRESS- Kriti opted for a gorgeous feathery long black dress by Falguni and Shane peacock during one of the promotional events of Dilwale. The accessorised her look with a pair of diamond studs while going minimal in the makeup department.

OOTD: Blue Flared Jumpsuit

Hi guys,

A new OOTD post, after a gap of few days 😀 I got this blue flared jumpsuit with cape ruffle sleeves from StalkBuyLove, it’s called Mykonos jumpsuit.

Jumpsuits make you look slimmer and I love these flared ones, kind of 80’s vibe in it.

I paired this jumpsuit with neutral accessories since it’s a bright blue. My tan Michael Kors sling and beige Steve Madden clogs.

It’s fun. It’s flirtatious. It’s sassy and it’s in! Confounded? Don’t be. I am talking about what has made it to the fancy of Tinsel town ladies these days… Crop Tops! There is no denying that crop tops amp up one’s glam quotient by leaps and bounds. And if your midriff is drool-worthy, a crop top brings all the limelight to it in the most flattering and tasteful manner. On that note, let us take a note of those B-wood ladies who carry off crop tops in sheer panache and aplomb.

1. KATRINA KAIF- With a face so cherubic and a body that is enviable, it comes as no doubt that Katrina Kaif had to make it to the list. Seen here is Katrina swaddled in a prepossessing Dhruv Kapoor crop top with a pair of culottes by Bodice at the Fitoor promotions. She slipped on to a pair of comfortable sneakers. A tied back ponytail completed her chic look.

2. JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ– Arguably the lady with the fittest body in Tinseltown, Jacqueline is seen here saddled in a simple casual crop top, printed jeans a pair of sneakers. Doesn’t this perfect for casual outings with one’s bunch of pals? Simple, chic and winsome in short.

3. TAMMANAAH BHATIA- The warrior princess of Bahhubali, Tammanaah Bhatia is the epitome of cuteness. With a porcelain clear complexion, her choice of colour is impeccable. Pink suits those with a lighter skin tone the most just the way orange complements warm shades the best. Tammanaah is seen here swaddled in a candy pink crop top and skirt by Elizabeth and James. Nude pumps? Check. Wavy beachy tousled hair? Check. Natural makeup? Check.

Fresh and feminine look? Check. She was styled by Nishka Lulla Mehra and all that endeavour surely shows positively here.

4. DEEPIKA PADUKONE- Can she stop being the winsome lass that she is so that I am not compelled to put her in every list that I prepare? Well, that is a question only Deepika can answer but I hope it’s in negation  During one of the promotional legs of her then, impending movie- Piku, Deepika was seen swaddled in a black sequins sporty crop top with balloon sleeves. This was paired with distressed cropped denims. Sporty loafers in white completed her look. Pssst… I know you are drooling over her abs. I understand. Even I am 🙂

5. PRIYANKA CHOPRA- Another fashionista of Bollywood who almost always steps as if on a mission to leave one and all awestruck with her impeccable sense of dressing. Having donned crop tops a couple of times, Priyanka here shows you how to style it in a number of ways. Long skirt, denims, pencil skirts… You name it and she shows it and how! And that midriff is worth drooling over, isn’t it?

6. NARGIS FAKHRI – Her frame is enviable. Period. So is her natural pout, isn’t it? Looking her casual best at the screening of the movie- Finding Fanny, Nargis made sure the shutterbugs had a pleasant time as she opted for a Forever 21 crop top along with Zara palazzo pants.

7. SONAM KAPOOR- Can this lady ever be missed when compiling a list of most fashionable B-town divas? Sonam has been seen swaddled a number of times in Payal Singhal and Arpita Mehta crop tops on different occasions during the promotions of her then impending movie- Khoobsurat 🙂 Khoobsurat, we say!

Corporate Fashion Inspiration from Bollywood

Chances are you would have been at your wits end when it comes to zeroing in on the ideal outfit for office at some point of your life. It is not school where everyone has to wear a uniform. It is not college where you have complete volition to try out whatever you’d like to be it- the ethnic kurta, the grungy rock star attire with a bandana or your go-to long skirt teamed with a tank top. Office calls for a change in your wardrobe, doesn’t it? So, why not glance at the best corporate/office looks that Tinsel-town ladies carried in panache and borrow some?

1. KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN- In a film whose immanent theme was role reversal ‘Ki and Ka’, Kareena played Kiya- the head honcho of a multinational company. Swaddled in the most chic and comfortable one-pieces (not gaudy or revealing ones) with cropped blazers that makes the entire looks trendy as well as professional. Kudos! Mrs. Khan.

2. SONAM KAPOOR – The Fashionista of Bollywood- Sonam Kapoor cannot be left behind when it comes to making waves with her effortless fashion style. Seen here is Sonam decked in black and white formals that are teamed with a pair of goggles that give a nerdy and chic look. Her mane let loose might look prepossessing but according to me that is the last thing any lady with a corporate job should go for. Reason? It will stick around with things/your body the moment you step out of an air-conditioned room and entangle with objects thereby break. So, the bottom line is to borrow ideas practically.

3. ALIA BHATT –Inarguably she displays the most eclectic range of ethnic office attire. Seen here is Alia swaddled in a plain black kurta with a pink Chinese collar and dupatta. This is from the scene where she is seen during a presentation in the movie – 2 States. For those ladies who are neither fond nor comfortable with sporting western office attire, sporting such plain kurtis comes across as a viable option.

4. KATRINA KAIF- She looked picture perfect in Fitoor. Not many can carry off red hair well and she looks dreamy with that fiery colour on her tresses! Seen here is Katrina (who essayed the role of Firdaus Jaan Naqvi in Fitoor) swaddled in atypical Western office attire but with a casual twist. The rolled up sleeves and slightly plunging neckline that doesn’t look risqué, makes it inimitable.

5. DEEPIKA PADUKONE- My vote for the best office/corporate attire to come out from Bollywood has to be from Deepika in Piku. Keeping the weather in mind, Deepika opts for a traditional fabric kurta with palazzo pants and mojris. Her accessories include bags, sunglasses, earrings and a scarf. The palazzo pants make sure that the fabric does not stick to one’s body and discomfit a person during our infamous sweltering summers.

6. PRIYANKA CHOPRA- And the Quantico girl arrives on the list and how! Shown to be working for Verve magazine in Dostana, PeeCee’s look had to be glamourous, chic and dramatic- something not usually associated with the minimalistic looks we see in conventional office jobs. As a result, she swaddled herself in bright dramatic outfits that looked apt with the field she was shown to be in- fashion.

7. DEEPIKA PADUKONE- We can’t help it if the lady has it in her to get a second feature in the list. Deepika Padukone, in the early days of her career essayed the role of a corporate employee in Kartik Calling Kartik. Shown to be a woman of today, her look was kept minimal and sophisticated. With soft curls cascading down her shoulders, she sported simple sleeveless white shirts teaming them up with a black figure-hugging skirt.

There may be myriad outfits at any given point of time. Period. Quite naturally, every trip to the market to zero in on an outfit for an occasion and you’d be spoiled for choice. While most outfits aren’t ‘versatile’ In the sense that you can’t put them on for any occasion/event sans a second thought. Come on, who wears a saree for a casual day out with friends, after all? But wait, there is one attire that is rightfully versatile to a ‘great extent’. Be it a casual day out with friends or a party, a date or a flight journey, jumpsuits are there to your rescue. Let us then, have a look at those Tinsel- town ladies who carry jumpsuits the best 🙂

1. SONAM KAPOOR- She strode in elan in an Elie Saab Jumpsuit On Day 3 Of MAMI 2015 and we were swept off our feet. Sonam, like never before, makes heads turn and after seeing her, we get to know why. This leggy lass is a Fashionista not for anything.

2. NARGIS FAKHRI- She is a lady who dresses effortlessly but doesn’t get as many roses thrown at her as some do in Tinsel-town so, here we are, doing what we think she deserves. That is to say, drool at her. At an event in Mumbai, Nargis looked drop-dead gorgeous in a sleek black jumpsuit. Minimalism is the key here and it works wonders, don’t you think so?

3. DEEPIKA PADUKONE- And here comes the reigning queen of Tinsel-town’s Box Office. And it looks like DP has made up her mind to plumb jumpsuits like no one. Be it a tiger-print or a strapless jumpsuit, a high-necked white jumpsuit or one revealing her décolletage, Deepika has gone all out with the attire and made heads turn. My favourite amongst all would be the one in tiger-print 🙂

4. YAMI GAUTAM- Swaddled in a Do & Be jumpsuit, Yami beams radiantly. Her nude makeup, minimal accessorising and girl-next- door charm compel us to envisage ourselves in place of Ayushmaan Khurrana as he serenaded her in Vicky Donor with ‘Paani Da Rang’. This looks proves that simplicity never goes out of vogue.

5. ATHIYA SHETTY- Newbies Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi made an appearance at F Bar in Delhi during one of the promotional tours of their then, impending flick- Hero. Athiya was swaddled in a gorgeous white jumpsuit by designer Ridhi Mehra from her latest collection. It goes without saying that she did justice to the embroidered ribbon sleeves jumpsuit.

6. KAJAL AGGARWAL- For the promotion of one of her flicks- Sardar Gabbara Singh, the perky Kajal kept things minimal in a Zara jumpsuit. Red lip, a classic wristwatch and nude pumps completed her look and don’t we just look at her with sheep’s eyes all this while?

7. KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN- During one of the screenings of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kareena sported a black and white printed DvF jumpsuit. With a Christopher Kane black sling bag with gold chain and Saint Laurent sandals, she rounded off her look. Aren’t you smitten?

OOTD: White & Blue Embellished Gown

I know I haven’t done an OOTD here since a long time, that’s coz of Instagram! Yes, I usually post my OOTD’s and outfit pics with details there, so you don’t see many OOTD’s here on the blog. If you want to see my regular OOTD’s, follow me on Instagram @bhumika_t

I did a special shoot for 3 outfits recently and hence I made sure I post it on the blog and not just Instagram.

I had this dress since quite some time now, but due to monsoons or some or the other event, I couldn’t get to shoot in this. Also since the material is raw silk, it gets crinkled super easily. This shoot was right after I had got this from ironing and still it has crinkled :/

But nonetheless, it is also the material which is very comfortable and looks really nice! Love the silhouette.

I love the sleeves and the gold embellishment work on the sleeves. This dress is from a Kolkata based brand Mada Sasa. Remember the previous post on Bollywood ladies who sizzle in bikinis? Weren’t you left slobbering, drooling and wanting for more? The ladies certainly sported bikinis with enormous aplomb, confidence and a sense of pride in their bodies that one couldn’t help but have their heartbeats race at a pace most F1 racers would be put to shame. So here you with a brief rundown of those Bollywood Ladies whose swimsuit avatars have been the most graceful, tasteful and magnetic of all.

1. KATRINA KAIF- If you thought her abs in Kala Chashma were a treat to your eyes, think again! The lady’s got more to soothe your eyes. Her pink swimsuit avatar in Sau Aasmaano song from Baar Baar Dekho gives one a no-holds barred view of her sculpted sun-kissed body as she saunters on the picturesque beaches in the song. Katrina Kaif donned a pink swimsuit in Baar Baar Dekho and made sure that she brought a carefree and laidback attitude to an otherwise sultry swimsuit.

2. PRIYANKA CHOPRA- Priyanka Chopra, PC for short ensured that the temperature on the beaches of Miami increased by a few notches when she strutted in a shimmery golden swimsuit in Dostana. What I can say for certain is that cine-goers back home had their jaws drop in awe.

3. SHILPA SHETTY- And here comes another Dostana girl! Shilpa Shetty Kundra has a body sculpted to perfection. Period. But when she swaddles herself in an itsy-bitsy swimsuit while grooving to the tunes of ‘Shut Up and Bounce’ all you can do is look at her unblinkingly while controlling yourself from slobbering.

4. SHRADHHA KAPOOR- Her face and frame both bill her as a typical happy-go- lucky, effervescent and exuberant girl-next- door whom you would have always wanted to ask out for a date but couldn’t summon the courage to. But when the livewire Shraddha sports a swimsuit (with an enviable bralette) not only do you get an impetus to modify your beach wardrobe majorly but also you are left gasping for more.

5. KIARA ADVANI- The Fugly actress ensured that she took all her fans by surprise as she posed in a black swimsuit for the magazine cover of Maxim India February 2015. Kiara Advani’s sensual avatar here certainly grabs one’s eyeballs.

6. ESHA GUPTA- The Desi Angelina Jolie- Esha Gupta oozed seduction, magnetism and appeal as she swaddled herself in an itsy-bitsy swimsuit for Elle Magazine. The cover of the magazine reads “Esha Gupta in summer’s sexiest swimwear”. After having a look at it, one cannot help but nod almost hypnotically in approval.

7. JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ- Sri Lankan import and former beauty queen- Jacqueline Fernandez unleashed her sensual and sultry facet as she sent the carnal interests of one and all into a tizzy with her audacious and alluring swimsuit appearances in Murder 2. She certainly raised the visual appeal of the thriller by a few notches, we say!

Editor’s Note: I saw the movie yesterday and Katrina looked fab, the only good thing to see in the terrible movie :p She looked mesmerizing in that hot pink bikini with voluminous, blow dried hair and that tan! Also Esha Gupta and Shilpa Shetty can rock anything! Super hot bods! Agree on PC too, that gold bikini scene is unforgettable 😀

For years she had been targeted for two things. One, her weight. Two, her questionable and distasteful sense of raiment. Never did she buckle down once for either. Over the years, not only has Parineeti Chopra’s weight has become the talking point of Tinsel-town (dare you say that she’s out of shape. The vivacious lady looks drop-dead gorgeous in her chiselled avatar and what better than she working out for what she wanted instead of positing excuses?) but also her sartorial sense has ameliorated. We see Chopra Junior experiment and hit the bullseye quite often these days. So, let’s have a rundown of some of the Best Off-screen Looks of Parineeti Chopra 🙂

1. ON ‘LOOK WHO’S TALKING’- Swaddled in a black top from Zara and a red paint splatter skirt from The Source, Chopra Junior shot for an episode of Look Who’s Talking. She accessorised her look with a jeweled statement necklace and sported a pair of gorgeous Jimmy Choos. This look surely gets a thumbs up, Parineeti!

2. BOHEMIAN VIBES AT A STORE LAUNCH– Clad in denim shorts with a pink tee and floral cape that Parineeti teamed with nude wedges and multi-layered neck pieces, the Ishaqzaade actress made heads turn for all the right reasons at the H&M store launch in Noida. Not a lot many women can carry a bohemian look and Parineeti clearly does not fall in that category. The chirpy Chopra looks effortlessly sassy and easy on the eyes.

3. IN AN ANARKALI- Swathed in a beige anaarkali with the picture-postcard locales of Jaipur in the backdrop, Parineeti looks gorgeous minus gaudy (and that’s difficult to look as anarkalis tend to be opulent hence, chances of one looking gaudy are high if not carried/accessorised well). The young ‘Dawat-e- Ishq’ heroine delineates exquisiteness here, doesn’t she?

4. IN MUSKAAN GOSWAMI– Swathed in a blazer dress by Intrinsic by Muskaan Goswami, Parineeti Chopra dazzled on the red carpet of the HT Style Awards. One usually doesn’t go minimalistic when attending red carpet events that showcase more of bling and glitz; however Chopra Junior doesn’t go by the book. And who doesn’t love that rebellious streak of hers?

5. GOING PLAYFUL- Clad in a burgundy embellished blouse from Kanika Goyal that was paired with high-waisted shorts, Parineeti attended an event for a brand. Accessorising with caged heels and an oversized hat, she redefined the art of comfy dressing. We are swooning, Chopra Junior.

6. ON THE SETS OF KBC 8- Swaddled in a peplum style blue dress to promote Daawat-E- Ishq on Kaun Banega Crorepati, Parineeti topped the dress with a chunky statement necklace by The Source. She rounded off her look with black booties by Steve Madden. Now that is called chic dressing!

7. IN A TAREK SINNO GOWN- Swathed in a flared embellished gown by Tarek Sinno for the Zee Cine Awards 2016, the effervescent actress accessorised her look with petite baubles by Farah Khan Ali and shoes by Heel & Buckle. Nude makeup along with a braided hairdo completed her ethereal look.
