So as I have become more active on Snapchat and Instagram, I am doing less of outfit posts here and less of vlogs too, coz I show the outfit and the event videos on Instagram and Snapchat respectively.
But I decided to post this one on the blog. I got this abstract print overlapping shift dress from StalkBuyLove recently, I showed it my latest YouTube Haul Video HERE
I wore this outfit for the Splash Spring/Summer Collection Preview recently. I paired this dress with my gold block heels and blue Michael Kors sling and gold Michael Kors watch. Also added a stretchable gold belt to give the waist some definition.
I love the overlap effect and the abstract print. Also the fact that it’s half sleeves, this dress is something which can be worn for multiple occasions like a formal affair or a casual day out.

At the unripe age of 19, she stepped into the glittery world of Tinseltown in a movie that thrived more on glitz and glamour and less on substance. Post the release, she was labelled a non-performer to an under-performer. The very next year, she came with a bang with a heart-wrenchingly honest performance in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway opposite the powerhouse performer Randeep Hooda and audiences unanimously exclaimed ‘The Student has grown up’. How true! Less than a year and she upped her acting game by leaps and bounds. With a few unsatisfactory performances in the past including the nowhere-Shandaar ‘Shandaar’ and the predictable and banal to death ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, she has managed to stay afloat as an ‘actor’. In the fashion department, given her age, she has dressed appropriately and that has caught the eye of the Fashion police. With a few glitches here and there, on average, her dressing sense is fun, youthful and exuberant. It’s none other than the chirpy Alia Bhatt and from her style book, today we are going to pick our best 5 looks that we drooled over. 🙂
1. THE FUN ONE-PIECE- Swaddled in a chic TopShop dress and ASOS brogues, this young lady looked prepossessing during the promotions of her then, impending movie- Shaandaar. The pink lips, nude makeup and understated eye makeup make it picture perfect for she is looking trendy effortlessly.
2. THE CROP TOP LOOK – Teaming up a black crop with a pair of comfy shorts and a black hat, Alia looked the textbook definition of winsome as she attended the press meet of Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya. Not to forget that dimple adds the perfect dash of cuteness, doesn’t it? 🙂
3. THE DUNGAREE LOOK AT THE MUSIC LAUNCH- She danced in her usual effervescent self and shutterbugs went into frenzy as she did so at the music launch of Shaandaar. Alia carefully and in fact, smartly opted for ILK overalls by Shikha and Vinita which she teamed up with a dark checked shirt. Soft wavy hair and metallic sneakers from Aldo ensured that brought the house down as she swayed to the tunes of ‘Gulaabo”
4. BRINGING THE LADY OUT WITH THE BOW DRESS- Ringing her 23rd birthday celebrations with panache, Alia opted for a black off-shoulder dress with a huge silver bow on its top. It channelized all her vivaciousness in one go.
5. WHEN SHE STEPPED OUT IN BLUE- Donning a Kanika Goyal outfit with a cool tee, understated heels from Pheddies and a little dramatic makeup, this pretty lass looked drop- dead gorgeous as she stepped out to promote Shaandaar. The movie might be miles away from its title but the look Alia carried was surely one. 🙂
What do you get when you blend charisma, a feisty attitude, oodles of acting talent, raw sex appeal, glamor, uninhibited self-confidence and a ‘My way or the highway’ approach? Kangana Ranaut. This Himachali lass set her foot in Tinseltown with the blockbuster ‘Gangster’ in the year 2006. A decade down the line and she’s been aptly crowned as the ‘Queen’ of the very same industry that for long pooh-pooed her as an outsider. With an impeccable style sense, she gives all the so-called fashionistas who swaddle themselves only in high-end designer outfits, a run for their money. So, here goes a list of Ms. Ranaut’s top 5 offscreen avatars that caught our fancy 🙂
1. THE AIRPORT LOOK- Dressed in a polka-dotted shirt teamed with a short blazer and denims, Ms. Ranaut steps out to give us a view of this chic and understated attire. Comfort and effortless style characterise this look. Not to forget those aviators give a bad girl tinge to the appearance. Clearly a winner all the way, isn’t it?
2. THE GYM LOOK- With her lustrous tousled locks cascading down her back and a half front-open jacket loosely tucked in the pants, Kangana’s gym look looks badass to say the least. Sneakers make for comfortable footwear when it comes to training hard in the gym and that is exactly what Kangana opts for here. Overall, the look is rugged and drool-worthy. Or is it Kangana’s attitude that makes it stand out? Keep thinking.
3. THE NATIONAL AWARD MOMENT- Eventually, she looks the happiest when the actor in her gets acknowledged. Bagging the coveted and highly esteemed National Award for best Actress in a leading role (Female) for the third time for her flick- Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) that defied the Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility and went on entertain more than the prequel, Kangana looked a million bucks at the prestigious ceremony in an icy-hued Georges Chakra dress.
4. THE PRESS CONFERENCE LOOK AT TANISHQ- This curly haired feisty actress attended the press conference of Tanishq. She looked drop-dead gorgeous in a full-sleeved one-piece with nude pumps that complemented her attire well.
5. THE RAMP LOOK- Walking the ramp for Anju Modi on Day 2 of Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers India Couture Week in a heavily embroidered full-sleeved crop top and a matching lehenga. The attire had a golden embroidery. Carrying it off with panache, Kangana stole the show quite literally 🙂

It has definitely increased the fashion standards ofcourse have inspired us with their fresh and unique style statement! Keep reading to know more.
1. Over accessorising is in : Over accessorising is a myth, wearing all of your wardrobe jewellery is the new trend, don’t believe me? Have a look at these moments stolen from coachella fest! I am amazed that wearing so many jewellery doesn't make them appear tacky or loud but unquestionably fashionable.
2. Vintage glasses : These sun glasses definitely reminded me of Gandhi ji’s eye glasses, it was a geeky piece or regular glasses back then, but who knew it will be on of the hottest glasses to buy at the moment. They are definitely a must have.
3. Crop tops : I am some where forced to believe that crop top was started from this fest, they look so fabulous and is now a THING in the entire world, the best part it’s comfortable as crop tops are usually loose, this is also the coolest fashion trend to follow in hot summers
4. Eyebrow art : During the 90’s in Indian weddings the bride use to apply white sticker/painted bindi over the eyebrows, I guess Bengali bride follow this ritual even today, if you love this I have a good news! You don’t need to be a bride to get that look, many people are getting that bindi look all over their eyebrows I feel it’s stolen from India’s ancient tradition, but is the new trend to follow!
5. Floral Head bands : This is one is my favourite! This look is feminine and delicate, again this is stolen from the brides, usually Christian brides are seen wearing a flowers head band or flowery hair do. In many images floral head band in paired with braids to get that bohemian look.
6. Long Cardigan with shorts : Cardigans are usually paired with jeans, wearing shorts along with a long cardigan is the new look, they make a perfect pair and definitely attract eye balls.
7. Hair chains : This is so fancy, ever since I was a child I wanted to do this! This makes me feel like I am a princess of Persia!! I really want to thank the person who came up with this very idea, this is so fashionably unique and looks so feminine, again this was traditionally used by Indian brides, usually it’s worn in silver colour and looks fabulous with women with black-brown hair. Haven’t own one? You should really consider it.

OOTD: Denim Blue Off Shoulder Crop Top, Floral Pencil Skirt

OOTD time! The moment I saw this crop top in the Stalkbuylove’s Stalker magazine early last month in the New Arrivals, I knew I had to get this! It is off shoulder, which is a trend quite IN this spring/summer. Also the denim blue colour would compliment a lot of different bottoms from black to bright colors to floral like I have paired it with today. Crop tops are absolutely fabulous with anything high waist like high waisted denims/skirts/culottes.
I have paired crop tops with culottes, palazzos and lace mini skirt earlier. And yes with pencil skirts too, see HEREand HERE. And of course, when they come with it’s own set i.e. co-ordinates/matching separatesmakes it all the more better coz you can not only wear them as coords but also separately with basics.
I have paired this Chester crop top with a black floral skirt. I had this skirt since quite some time (shown in this HAUL video), when I saw this crop top, I knew I would be pairing it with this skirt 😀 Yes, I mentally put together my outfits all the time 😉
Also I love bucket bags, if you know I already have the big orange one from StalkBuyLove which I love using. And I also like backpacks, so when I saw this tan backpack which is like a bucket bag i.e. 2 in 1, I immediately added it to the cart!
Tip: Tan/Neutral bags and shoes will always work with everything, so if you like something in tan, don’t think twice and just get it, you will be surely using that a lot.
I completed the look with my Daniel Wellington watch and these black Forever 21 mules. Now I know mules don’t have a strap behind usually, but this one does. Had got them during sale, again had showed these in the above linked haul video.
Flared Jeans: The Comeback of the 1990’s & Ways to Style It

Flared Jeans were out-of-the fashion scene throughout the 2000’s, mainly because skinny and super-skinny jeans were winning hearts all over the world, and why not? They are extremely well-fitted and looked so good. But now, the fashion from the gone eras is making a comeback, be it Palazzo’s, Crop-tops, Flared Jeans, Midi’s, and so on.
In this article, I’m going to write about how to rock the Flared-Jeans and can look as good as skinny jeans, and is so much more comfortable than the skinny ones because let’s admit it, no matter how good a pair of skinny jeans look, they are too-tight to breathe-in and too uncomfortable during the harsh summer days, and yeah, we do need to shift to something different after years of wearing the same skin tight jeans!
The Summer-Spring Look
Flared Jeans can be paired up with a summer-top or even a crop-top. This outfit is perfect for a casual day out with friends, or for movies. Semi-fitted or well fitted tops will look better with the flared jeans as loose or ill fitted tops will fail to give some balance to your body, thus making you look shabby. Pair these jeans with wedges, and you’re good to go!
The Winter Look
Long sweaters and the flared jeans- best look for a chilly winter day. Pair this look with a matching accessory- a chunky necklace or earrings, and/or a handbag, with light makeup. With Flared Jeans, heels or wedges is preferred because if you wear flats instead, the bottom-part of the jeans will be dragging through the floor, and undoubtedly look bad.
The Distressed Look
Yes, ripped and distressed flared jeans do exist and look as good as ripped skinny jeans. Crop-top, spaghetti tops would look best with these pair of Jeans. This is the ready-for-Coachella kind of look. Hair tied into a messy pony or bun, and a sling, and you’re ready to rock!
The Cropped One
Cropped flared-jeans paired with a shirt and scarpin heels is one way to rock the bell-bottoms look. This look is great for formal settings, and jeans can be changed for flared pants, and it would look as good. Too-much cropped flared jeans/pants would look baggy.
The No-effort look
Pair the Jeans with a casual v-neck top, printed or plain, paired with sunglasses and a handbag/sling and you’re ready for a hot-summer day. This look is easy and for those days when you are feeling lazy and don’t really feel like dressing up.
The Kimono look
Kimonos are the current favourite. I see almost everyone around me wearing kimonos with a short-dress, with shorts, with skirts, and with a pair of skinny jeans. But, kimonos can be paired up with flared jeans and tank tops and they look great! If doesn’t matter if your kimono is plain or printed, try wearing it with a pair of flared jeans and you’ll do justice to the boho-vibes.
The other-colours look
Flared-Jeans doesn’t always have to be blue (the basic denim colour). It can be red, or black, purple or even pink. Go for your favourite coloured flared jeans, and rock it either with a solid coloured shirt or striped or even floral, because hey, bold is beautiful.
The Biker-Look
Who said leather jackets look good only with skin-tight jeans or pants? When you wear a leather jacket with flared-jeans, they not only look classy, but they add a bit of texture to your outfit as well. There are so many other ways to rock the flared-jeans, all you need to do is find the right pair of the flared-jeans, some accessories, be it sunglasses, scarves, chunky pieces of jewellery and you’re ready to conquer the world woman!

Today’s post is quite different, it is not the usual OOTD post, but a post dedicated exclusively to Dungarees. Let me tell all about dungarees, the history, how to dress it up, dress it down.
Starting with the history of dungarees, they have been around since the late 1700’s. Dungarees were worn by farmers, slaves and the likes since they were inexpensive and not prone to easy tear but also carried a stigma of low status for the same reason. Women started wearing them during World Wars coz it was the perfect material for those working in factories. They came back in fashion in the 40’s and 50’s starting with children wear and since then, they have been quite famous and IN and OUT of fashion.
Dungarees are back again in fashion and they come in different types and styles, from shorts to skirts to trousers style, denim style, suspenders, ripped denims, etc. They can be paired in a million ways and can be dressed up or dressed down. I am back with an OOTD, this time it’s this pretty black dress with pinkish red roses on the bottom half. It’s an old dress I had got from Done By None but never untill yet.

I wanted to create an outfit similar to the case inspiration and I found this dress in my wardrobe which perfectly matched the black and deep pinks and reds in the galaxy.
I kept it very basic and simple and went with a basic rose gold watch and a tan sling. I completed the look with my favourite black and gold block sandals.

These are the outfits I wore recently for the events I attended, I have also done a lookbook video 🙂
Outfit 1:
I have seen this long maxi slit tops a lot in the past few months, I never found them in Forever 21 and there was on StalkBuyLove which was almost OOS every time. Finally I found this blue and purple ombre slit top and it is just perfect, except for the length for me if I wear it with flats. A shirt dress again, this time it’s beige, white and black color blocked shirt dress. What I like about this dress is that it can even be worn as a cape. The belt defines the waist and I paired it with the same bag and shoes, but with my Michael Kors watch. I wore this for the Woods new Collection showcase.

Outfit 3:
This is my favourite, bright yellow A-line dress. I absolutely love the lower print, it is quite bright and a statement in itself. I paired it with the same nude sling and my Daniel Wellington watch. I went for strappy block heels since it is more dressy. I was going to wear it for The Body Shop gift wrapping workshop event but I had to run errands that day and this dress is slightly tighter and was not the most comfortable, so I had to change. The only problem is the fit, even though I ordered it as per the size mentioned, it is tight for me. If you plan to buy this, go for a size up.
