AVON Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel ‘Swift Sherbert’ Review & NOTD

Review by Lee

Hellooooo Lovelies,

I’m really excited as this is my first post on New Love-Makeup! I really want to thank Bhumika for giving me such an opportunity.
Lately I’ve been feeling very low and sick. I had just recuperated from jaundice when Mr. viral came knocking. I just feel like laying down in bed all day long with all the lights turned off. But one thing that is making me smile in my bad days is the lovely nail paint on my nails which I am going to review today. . It is a beautiful shade called Swift Sherbet’ from Avon.

Price: Rs.199/- for 8ml

Use Before 3 yrs of manufacturing

Product Description:
It claims: Avon brings to you the new and improved nail wear that dries and sets in just 30 seconds! Avon’s Speed Dry + Nail Enamel gives you glamorous and flattering nails every day and for any occasion.

Avon recently launched a variety of vibrant shades in their Speed dry+ Collection. They’re very girly and cute and I cant wait to pick up atleast 5. While all the blogosphere is going gaga over the Maybelline Color Show I’m going to introduce an Avon beauty which deserves a lot more attention.

Shade
Swift sherbert is a pastel milky peach which makes my nails pop. I’ve always wanted a salmon colored nail paint and this is the closest to it. It can make your hands look a bit dull and dark so those with tanned hands might want to avoid it. Though, personally I love the stark contrast of pastels against tanned/dark hands so its all about personal preference.

Packaging
It comes in a small sturdy glass bottle with a black plastic handle. It contains a good amount of product with a decent brush. The brush fans out properly and I can easily cover the nail in 2 swipes.

Texture
The texture is nice and of a good consistency. It isn’t watery or runny and has decent pigmentation. 2 coats will easily give an opaque finish . It’s the most pigmented pastel nail paint I have as most pastels Nps are quite sheer.

It does get patchy especially in the first coat but gives an even finish by the second.
Surprisingly the 30 second drying part is true and even though I didn’t not exactly time it but it did dry very very quickly. I absolutely hate applying nail paints and waiting for hours(sure feels like it) for it to dry off so a big yay for this one!

It lasted for 3 days without chipping after which I faced minimal chipping. By day 5 it did start to chip quite a bit . However, if you apply this with a top coat you can easily get perfectly manicured nails for 5+ days.

Pros:

1)A unique pastel peach which I haven’t seen in the Indian market yet
2)Does not chip for 5 days with a top coat
3)Decently pigmented
4)Dries very quickly
5)Did not stain my nails
6)The bottle is sturdy and travel friendly

Cons:

1)Gives a patchy finish in the first coat.

Rating- 5/5

Final recommendation- Swift Sherbet is a beautiful pastel peach which grabs attention instantly. It has a nice consistency and lasts a good amount of days. It dries very quickly however it does give a patchy finish in the first coat which is easily rectified by the second coat. If you love pastels then you should definitely give this a try.

Check out the review and NOTD of another shade Orange you Quick HERE

Editor’s Note: I love them too ! They really dry quick..I totally lack the patience and hate the waiting part in drying nail paints..I have tried Orange You Quick from this range and loved it..Swift Sherbert is such a pretty pastel indeed !

Have you tried Avon Speed Dry+ Nail Enamels ?

972 is a pretty pastel peachy pink (P4) shade..Inglot has five shades in their Pastel Collection Nail Enamels..I quiet like this peachy pink..Pastels are not something I am in the mood of everyday…but I love pastels at times..And the rest four shades i.e yellow, violet, green and blue are equally nice..

Its toluen, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) free. Stays well without chipping for 5 days. The only issue is it chips from the centre instead of the edges.

You would require 2-3 coats for it to show up..one coat comes up quiet sheer. These are a little expensive for a nail paint..but 15ml is quite a good quantity too.

If you like pastels..I would surely recommend them.
